Moved thread here as the old one got moved to Q & A.
Please feel free to leave suggestions for new updates and we will try to include them in the future!
Thanks dev for this amazing app - easily my favorite on the market!
The only thing missing from this app is geotagging pictures - could I suggest that for a future update?
Glad you are enjoying the app.
Thanks for the suggestion - we'll try and get geotagging included in the next update.
Thanks so much for finally doing a proper photobooth option! I've been waiting for this on all the camera apps!
The other stuff in the app is very good, but a digital zoom is no different than zooming a picture you have already taken. Shame the G1 does not have an optical zoom. That would go along nice with this app.
Thanks for the feedback.
The app's original intention was to add digital zoom to the market and we were the first market application to do so.
We have moved more now into creating a very powerful, feature-rich and fun to use camera app.
Look out for more updates soon!
Thanks for keeping the size down too! I, for one, hope you dont add too much post-processing features to the app (filters, etc...) these are not practical on the phone (in my opinion) and do nothing but bloat the app! (I won't name names, but there's another camera app that is 3 times the size of yours and is a bear to work with.)
One thing I'd like to see, as far as flters go, is pre-defined adjustments. Almost all pictures taken with the camera need to have their brightness and contrast adjusted. If there was a way to auto adjust this based on an algorithm (like photoshop does) that would be perfect.
Brightness and contrast filters will certainly be coming in a future update and we'll look into auto adjust as you suggest.
In case you didn't already hear, Camera ZOOM has been nominated for best camera app in the Android Network Awards ...
We have worked hard to be the most feature-rich, innovative and fun camera and have given you some great features including original digital zoom, free skins, photo booth, circular zoom, quick settings, stability meter, buddies and customizable buttons to name a few.
And there’s lots more to come …
Hopefully you are as excited about Camera ZOOM as we are – please show us your support by voting here (voting ends on 16th August) :
http://answers.polldaddy.com/poll/1852657
Looks awesome, but the thing that is creeping me out is your backyard and backdoor looks identical to mine, and I mean COMPLETELY identical.
That is kind of creepy but I don't think we even live in the same country!
Of course I voted for you androidslide!
But I need my geotagging feature - any idea when its coming?!
In the next few weeks certainly. Lots of other features coming soon ... keep the ideas coming!
A Facebook group is out there now for Camera ZOOM for Android!

Also last chance tonight to vote for best camera app :
http://answers.polldaddy.com/poll/1852657
androidslide would like to thank everyone who supported Camera ZOOM in the Android Network Awards.
The results were close ... in fact almost too close to call - this is what I heard back from the organizer this morning :
'Snap Photo Pro got 44% while Camera ZOOM got 40%. The difference was about 50 votes'
We are very pleased with this turnout - obviously we would have been even more pleased had we won (!), but to achieve such a huge response within less than 3 months on the market is a huge result for us - so thanks again to everyone for the support!
Look out for more great features from us very soon - in the meantime, take a look at our list of features, many of which are exclusive to Camera ZOOM :
http://www.androidslide.com/camerazoom
Have been having fun wiht this app for a little while now. There is one problem I have with it. In order to get the pictures to look correct when adding people/object overlays I need to get my subject to pose correctly for the effect to look right. Would be amazing if I could edit the overlays before or after the shot. (ie move the overlay around and more importantly the ability to erase portions of the overlay.)
Thanks for the fun app

Since you have been a pioneer in the camera app realm and also in the gallery realm why not continue this pace and incorporate some sort of wobble or jiggle filter that uses the accelerometer to manipulate real time wobble/jiggle effects to pictures taken or already stored? Now that would surely be a winner.

how do I actually get this? Is there an apk for it or is available on the market or something? Cuz I didn't see a link for downloading it when i checked the website. Just more information about what it did. Thanks in advance.
Search for 'Photo BURST' in the market.
thanks for the quick response. Checking now..
Just checked this on Market.
Wanted to say thanks for an amazing app!
The stock gallery app was pretty poor especially compared to iphone etc, but with this new app I can really enjoy my pics in style! Slideshow is a standout - especially collage!
Suggestions would be to add exclude folder option and tagged images.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks for all the feedback on this app.
We have just released an update 1.0.1 which improves picture quality and fixes all known bugs from the original release.
Please let us know how everyone gets on with the new update.
Much more coming soon ...
Wow just tried the demo of this app and it's looking good. Like the features you've introduce so far. Could be a really good app.
It does keep crashing after the phone goes to sleep though for me. I'm on CyanogenMOD 4.0.4 ATM. If this can be fixed I think it will be one of my next purchases.
Thanks for the feedback.
Another user just reported going to sleep resume issue so we'll look into that next.
Released update 1.1 :
- Ping.Fm = 1 click send to Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, etc.
- Zoom sensitivity option
- Folder gallery bg color option
More coming soon ...
Awesome looking app. Seems like after a few minutes it just goes to sleep and my phone is totally unresponsive for a minute.
Running on a G1 with apps on SD card
Great job so far.
Some ideas/thoughts:
1. The scrolling is a bit weird. Almost like it's scrolling faster than I'm moving my finger. Instead of it being 1:1 it seems to be scrolling further than I want as I move.
2. It would help a lot if the size of the folder buttons was larger. The first screen where you see the listing of all the directories on your card that have photos. I've missed the button I want a few times since they aren't tall enough for a satisfying hit area.
3. If I choose "share" from any image, choose gmail for instance, and send or discard the message, when it drops me back into the app I see the splash screen and then the directory chooser again. Not the image I was just looking at. Frustrating!
4. That splash screen has to go. It makes sense for the indexing part, but when there is no indexing, or in the case of coming back to the app like I mentioned above, it's annoying.
That aside, it's looking pretty good! The last update improved IQ greatly. No more color banding on gradients!
The latest update (1.1.2) fixed #3 from my previous post. Nice!
Thanks for feedback - released update 1.1.2 :
- Ping.Fm = 1 click send to Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, etc.
- Zoom sensitivity option
- Folder gallery bg color option
- Help guide
More coming soon including delete option.
Very nice app, however i find the double tap / circular zoom procedure a bit difficult to master. I would certainly pay for app if it supported multi touch zoom as well.
Best rgds,
Geir
features to add
this application is great as it stands, beautiful UI very well done transitions its great, but a couple of features i would really like to see would be the ability for this applications to be the default picture grabber for aplications and such instead of the gallery(though this would probably have to be edited on both sides of it yours and the sides of the applications themselves), the second being easily enough done would be the ability to hide folders of pictures from the main page and/or the ability to sort the picture folders as this would eliminate need to remove them just place them somewhere else
There's another bug I found: view a picture, open the hardware keyboard on a G1. The app will exit back out to the splash screen and show you the folder picker again.
Happens on any open/close of the keyboard.
Thanks for the feedback. We'll look into and implement all the suggestions mentioned above :
- flip open issue
- hide folders
- multitouch for rooted / supported phones
- single tap to get zoom wheel
- splash screen only during indexing
- folder icons bigger
- more standard scrolling
Look out for updates soon - also feel free to join our Facebook group :

Would love a default folder or "exclude" folder option.
I want to show people pics without them having to go through every stupid jpg on the memory card from apps , and would like to avoid them stumbling into pics I want private.
Im aware of privacy folder apps but this app could kill 2 birds with one stone but letting us have the option to open a default folder that it always looks into and opens on program.
Splash screen and indexing need to be minimized and "when needed" only.
Finger swipe and zoom functions are fantastic but cant use as default until those things are implemented.
Thanks for the suggestions. Default folder and exclude folders are both planned for a future update.
We are 50% complete on the new update which significantly reduces loading time and only indexes required thumbnails.
We are also updating all of our apps to include support for Droid so it may take a liitle longer.
We are open to any suggestions for future updates so keep the ideas coming.
Hello to everybody,
Before alot of search i`ll try to ask it to you.
Ìs it possible that there isn`t any apps that let you use all potentility of the g1 camera?
I`ve seen that in hero rom(but now i have cym 4.2.5) the htc camera let you set iso, contrast, night mode, and a lot of features, i`ve buy all camera apps in market but any of these let you set these parameter.
I would pay for an app that let me use my camera in all its features.
Any suggestions?
FXCamera is free and i like it check it out
yes, i've already try it, but it's not what i want
Our product Camera ZOOM FX offers a very high degree of customization of the G1 camera's abilities. A Droid version is expected to be available in the next 10 days. Camera ZOOM FX is available on the Android Market for £1.29 or on the SlideME market.

Snap Photo Pro?
yes, i already buy it, but this not have any contrast regulation, or iso setting or exposure etc.
i would like to have these features but... nobody do that.
The problem i that in low light or in night the photos are so dark.
It's not a DSLR, it's a camera on a phone.
yes i know, but for example in built in camera in hero rom there is the regulation of constrast, saturation and sharpness, and iso, and if i set high iso and low contrast i can take beautiful and clear photos with very low light.

then you should get a hero phone or run a hero rom. again, this is a phone.
g1 camera
well i notice that no matter what program the g1 has its seems that the camera sux!!! is there any way that this can be fixed???
Try xROM.
It's a full rom, not an app.
But it has the Hero camera in it, and it works pretty good in dark light.
The Market does have some very nice camera apps (especially for a phone camera), but I fully understand the op's request. Sometimes it's not feasible to carry around a camera and a phone. For the candid, spur-of-the-moment shots, that's the benefit of having a camera on the phone. Unfortunately, most of these apps do post-processing of photos. That's not much fun when you take multiple photos. The Hero camera, on the otherhand, let's you set the brightness/contrast/etc BEFORE you take the pics. That's a huge benefit when you're in a restaurant or club and want to grab some low light photos.
xROM is a very nice, stable and fast rom. Although it's a bit older of a rom, it still has most of the functionality of the latest roms and pretty much all the speed as well. I believe it's the most recent rom that also had the Hero camera.
Thats why I'm hoping we get some software improvements once the Sony Ericsson phone comes out. I had the k800i Cybershot Phone before the G1, and that phone rocked. The camera software was amazing. I imagine the hardware will limit it of course, but the image processing right after the sensors output should see great improvements that, I hope because of android, will lead to amazing improvements of the camera apps.
I have Snap Photo Pro, FxCamera, and 3DCamera.
In my opinion...
Snap Photo is best for photos that matter the most (but its still not a real cameraphone so you can't expect much). But the detail is there and postediting can fix most issues. And you get the most megapixels compared to the rest.
FxCamera is awesome if you don't mind small photos. Web quality, but not print. Love this app though, and prefer the auto output of the polaroid mode better than auto Snap Photo settings, and use this one the most for casual shots.
Never had a photo from 3dCamera yet. Hoping its a skill level thing and I can make use of th incredible possibilities. But only possibilities so far.
I repeat, if a hero rom can use these features on a g1/dream phone, this mean that a stand alone software for g1 can do that, i think.
Why nobody has developed these features? What is the problem?
I totally agree! I just wish we had an app. in which nightmode actually worked...
is it just me but is FX camera missing from the market now? I havent been able to find it
Not much to describe No more bad photos on our HD2
Disclaimer:
I do it just for fun when I have some free time and some mood So don't expect too much.
This app is free (and will allways be free) and for now it will not be available through Marketplace - just because it is not really easy to put it there.
Version 0.6.3 - Mango compatible, Download: View attachment SHCameraApp063.zip
- same as 0.6.2
- full Mango support
Version 0.6.2 - Mango beta1 compatible, Download: View attachment SHCameraApp062.zip
- preview for recorded video doesn't work (I cannot create one of the classes - looks like Mango issues)
- some UI lagging - again Mango issues
- maybe some other bugs
- image may freeze - simply tap the screen
Version 0.6.1 - Nodo, Download: View attachment SHCameraApp061.zip
- app now use native code - this means no way to put it to Marketplace, also app will work only on HTC devices
- preview for recorded video
- normal names for videos
- improved speed of save operation
- fixed problems with pictures rotation (still small issues remain)
- fixed autosave for videos
Known problems:
photo taken in portrait mode will require more time to save comparing with landscape photo.
What's next:
- will try to disable shutter sound (for now - there will be only registry key - look registry tweaks thread)
- propose your features
About custom photo/video resolution:
There is no way to have 16:9 photos or video recording in 1080p - application already using all supported resolutions.
And there is no way to add something else - unless someone will modify camera driver.
About Green/Yellow color in photos:
This is a camera driver bug - nothing I can do.

Thanks, This works perfect. I cant wait for future releases!
Thanks for working on this. Looking forward to future updates (maybe tap to focus, use of hardware button to take shot?) Video will be nice as well. I agree that you should set up a donation. Thanks!
This app does not fix the green color, does it? Or is it just my phone that doesn't work.
Thanks
Great to see some more positive feedback on the camera since the updates!
What resolution/mode are people finding best for general point and shoot? Auto or 3:4 (if so, with or without 108MP)?
Also, hoping for a bit of advice on the best ratio and mode to use in the following scenarios:
- Under artificial light indoors
- In low light
- Capturing movement without it being one big blurry mess (I tried taking a few of my dogs whilst they were running in the park and couldn't get any focus or features at all)

To capture movement you either need to push up the shutter speed to a speed of 1/300-500 in Pro mode (so only use the main camera no zoom), or 'pan'/move the camera to track the subject whilst its moving to with the zoom lens. The later is almost impossible to do on any phone, and AF on the S21 U I don't think is good enough for it, I tried it last weekend and I got zero usable shots out of about 10 attempts even with burst mode.
The other options is a 'still' capture using slow mo video or 4K 60 FPS.
I don't think its impossible to capture good motion with the main sensor, but you need to play with the setting, and use Manual Focus.

Thank you for the tips, I will give that a go. Is the tap photo you posted an example of the shutter speed tip or slow mo/4K video tip?
Having had an opportunity to play around with the camera more, my main difficulty (particularly compared to my partner's iPhone) is definitely capturing the dogs while they're moving. I have experimented with burst shots and also motion photos to allow me to try and pick the best shot afterwards but it's really not ideal having to sift through a load of shots to try and find the most usable one.
I find that if I just point and shoot, the photo will often just be a blur with no distinguishable features - whereas the iPhone seems to capture the dogs in motion pretty well. By motion, I don't just mean in full flight either, at times my dog will be lying/sitting and just one head movement seems to completely nerf the photo...
Smartphones are crappy cam platforms compared to a pro cam system that weighs a couple pounds. A pro cam's handholds are also much better.
More mass means more inertia. The heavy pro cams are very easy to shoot with in part because of the extra weight.
So bracing the phone or the hand/arm/shoulder/your body holding the phone on any solid object at the right height helps to keep keep the framing lined up and avoid cam shake.
Even with a pro cam you brace it when possible otherwise you take a wider staggered foot plant, keep your elbows down/inward. You watch your breathing just like you would when shooting a rifle. If kneeling you can rest your elbow or arm on your leg.
This is a learned practice that over time becomes second nature the same as composing-framing/squaring up a shot.
You need to do this quickly/accurately to grab most action shot keepers.
That's part of the issue but far from all.

Yes upping shutter speed -1/2000, and Manual focus.
The Autofocus on the S21U back focuses at times consistently- so will focus behind what you want. Am not sure why, this scene below I just couldn't get the AF to focus on the purple flower, it didn't matter where I tapped on the screen it wouldn't do it.
Manual focus nailed it however. But you really cannot use Manual focus on a moving subject with the phone, the ergonomics just aren't there, so your best bet is to go into Pro mode and get the shutter speed up to 1/2000 range.
You will also need to push the ISO up to 200-400 to ensure the picture isn't too dark, so realistically you need to be outside with good sunlight to get a decent shot.
Use auto tracking focus for moving subjects, remember to turn it off afterwards.

This thread is only for the questions and answers about OPPO Find X5 Pro. Please adhere to XDA rules when you participate in this event.
What new functionalities will be bring to #OPPOFindX5Series thanks to Marisilicon X NPU concerning photography and video recording?
How/when can I use my voice to take a picture (e.g.: camera snaps a photo when I say "smile")?
How/when can I create folders in the app drawer?
How/when can I set my own .mp4 as live wallpaper?
How/when can I sync the 'Eye Comfort' mode with sunset/-rise?
How/ when can I use a highlighter on screenshots?
How/when can I maximise battery charging to 85%?
How/when can I personalised caller background (e.g. custom .mp4 upon incoming calls by certain contacts)?
How/when can I sort favourites in my contact list? Just discovered this can be done by long-pressing and sliding the contacts.
How/when is Android Auto's responsiveness upon touch on a car's head unit enhanced? Especially Android Auto's launch bar is not responding well on my Volvo's Sensus system whilst this is absolutely working fine with my old smartphone (famous Korean brand).
Are there any plans to allow users to unlock their bootloader?
If not, what is the reason behind that decision?
Why oppo is not adding 4k in front camera as its a camera centric smartphone and to be comfortable for vloggers and for some front camera lovers there must be a 4k option in front camera.
Will it launch in India ?
What is the difference between these 2 camera modes.
50mp mode and high-res mode as they both are giving same resolution image so why there is two options.
Got one question regarding Android 13 schedule: is there already a timeline for both Find X5 and X5 Pro?
And will there be more integrations of Material 3 theming in the future? Such as the themed icons.
Thank you!

Hi Mike, thanks for your question. OPPO's self-developed MariSilicon X imaging NPU can activate when capturing low light video, effectively improve the nighttime imaging capabilities of Find X5 Pro, greatly reduce noise through self-developed AINR and other advanced algorithms, and HDR Fusion capabilities to enhance night scenes that complement each other. It can achieve 4K ultra-clear night scene video shooting and solve a problem that plagued mobile phones since they first captured video.

With the Find X5 Pro, you can use your voice to take pictures, use a highlighter on screenshots, custom your ringtone and vibration, and sort favorites in your contact list.
Would you mind telling me how?
I have a Find X5 Pro and I haven't been able to find a way to take pictures by voice-command, highlight screenshots (there's a pencil and a brush, straight lines and arrows but NO 'yellow marker') nor do the other stuff in my list.
Ringtone and vibration are obviously customisable which is why I did not mention that. And I had already figured out the sorting of contacts which is what I already added to my list.

Sorry for mistakenly getting your point. Now the two methods of taking photos are by "Touch to Capture" and "Show palm". As for the screenshot highlighter, markup on the screenshot is supported, however, highlighting screenshots through a pencil and a brush is not supported.
Intriguingly, my Find X5 Pro does offer pencil and brush options, contrary to the 'yellow marker'-highlighter I'd rather have:
As for the other questions I had in my list but haven't been addressed: any idea on those?

Got it. When it comes to the Yellow Highlighter with a pencil and brush to highlight one sentence like the function in Office Docs or PDF [that's what we thought you were wondering], it is less common and used in phone screenshots. And YES, the phone supports the markup function with a pencil and brush as you show, allowing you to bring out details and key points.
I want to be able to unlock the bootloader. Can OPPO Ambassadors Team tell me how and what i need to do to unlock bootloader
