Flow in games

Hi,
Just found the flash-version of this game and trying to find out if its playable on diamond. It would be awesome to get it to work with the g-sensor. Anyone up for porting it?
Check it out:
http://intihuatani.usc.edu/cloud/flowing/
that would be fricking awsum!!!
Ive extracted all the resources from the game and it doesnt look like its too hard to do it.
Going to give it a try this weekend if the weather suck or im not too hungover.
It does look cool, but what is the aim?
It looks like a game on the DS I think Electroplankton or somehting like that
b
it was so so
but not work effectively

Are there any live wallpapers that do this...?

Have objects in the wallpaper change perspective as you scroll your screens left or right. Like in this vid for example.
See how all the hills in the back scroll at different rates to help give that 3D depth perspective? It would be nice to have objects (like the turtles and shrooms) moving in the foreground too.
I actually want a live wallpaper that looks just like super mario bros wii, with moving backgrounds and all.
It's hard to develop, hard to play with, and icons and widget won't help you to play. The best solution is to download a super mario bross game in the market, I don't know if it already exist but it should
A game is not what i want, i want a live wallpaper that looks like the game, if you know what i mean? I want no interaction with it beyond the change in perspective when i scroll between screens.
It doesnt have to be mario bros either, it can be anything where the objects on the wallpaper scroll at different rates to give that change in perspective.
It's called parallax scrolling. It's already in some LWPs like Silhouette but not quite in the way you're referring to.
So, yeah it definitely could be done, but as far as I'm aware hasn't yet.
Parallax Scrolling... cool, thanks.
I just found a live wall paper that appears to use it, MaryJane, from the marketplace.
The leaves in the foreground and middleground move independantly of each other and from the background as well. Looks really cool... if you dont mind the type of leaves being used.
Now, if only someone would make one that mimics mario bros wii.
Yep. The MaryJane LWP is from the same group that did Silhouette.
The parallax scrolling technique was used heavily by Nintendo back in the day, as well as the PC demoscene. I'm willing to bet they pulled it out for SMB Wii as a sort of homage to the oldschool days.
Anyways, I vote that YOU start working on a LWP featuring PS in the SMB style (holy initialisms). The concept is simple enough.
thats how you play mario

Someone just released a sweet live wallpaper with mario playing in the background... not exactly what i wanted, but still pretty cool.

Pewpew2

Pew pew is a great game for xoom. Very addicting.
#2 costs like 2$. I'm going to download it and ill let you guys know how it is on the xoom!
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
First thoughts, nice to support the dev.
All the original game modes are still there, adds campaign, and 3 new challenge modes. Nice large update, but that's what it is... an update.
I reccomend it! I know ill be playing it for hours tomorrow haha.

he could have used a better naming scheme, PewPew Lite/Free and PewPew rather than the one and two monikers. Still, one of the absolute best games out for android and I have actually grown to like it even better than geometry wars. I have also noticed some graphical touches not present in the original pewpew like the 3d oscilatting background in certain menus. Also much more music, I like the remix of the main theme. The campaign is imaginative and a fresh break from the challenge modes. Speaking of which, the new ones are pretty aweseme like "highway" for example, a massive circle of rotating enemys and you have to play in traffic to chase after a ball. This is my favorite game for android. No question. Especially for the Xoom!

[N2E] Games for Nook STR

Hello folks,
I've been looking around for a couple of games for the Nook STR. I've got several "slow movement" games to run properly: sudoku, reversi and gobandroid.
Is there any other recommended game? A RPG maybe? Maybe card games?
One Word - Samurai II.
[ Joking - sorry =( ]
Stop the spamming of the NOOK COLOR Themes and Apps forum.
There are areas for deviceces without own forum.

I don't agree... The Nook clearly deserves a forum more than most of the devices that have been crowded into those other forums. Not only that, the Nook is pretty much a Nook Color under the hood =\, so optimizations in the Nook Color could possibly be brought over if the devs or future devs are made more aware of what's going on with it.
Besides... Every Nook Touch topic i've seen is labeled with [N2E] not to hard to avoid =|
Chess works great! It is almost as if it were meant for it all along. I am surprised frankly that B&N didn't bundle a few little board game apps on the Nook2 in the first place.
Also, Akinator (guessing game) works as well.
Tic tac toe!
Tic tac toe works with a friend using Freenote!
Okay, the Nook running Freenote only serves as scratch paper to play the game, but nevertheless it worked.
alchemie with textmode and tap to combine is playable too
The sudoku app Andoku Sudoku ( com.googlecode.andoku ) has fairly little flickering.
Has anyone found a sudoku app that is even better suited for the Nook eink screen?
Please name specific apps (not just types of apps). There are a whole lot of chess apps so getting details on one that runs well on Nook saves time.
This is the chess I tired:

Games working on my Nook Touch:
Crimson Fields
Andoku
Four in a Row HD
Find it on the market
Tried some, but most of them has some level of ghosting:
Working so far:
- Klondike
- Reversi free
- Nemo picross
- GObandroid (to play Go! - very good)
- Super Sudoku
- Klondike free
- Dark nova (used to love Space Trader on my old Treo)
Still looking for a viable RPG - I guess Eye of the Beholder ou Bard's Tale style would work.
andoku
I have andoku running, but cannot access the check puzzle feature. Suggestion?
Never mind ..went to andoku 2. Works fine
Nethack and the Slashem variant are both great for the nook! Maybe its a little to retro for some but IMO you can't beat a classic like nethack. There's your rpg
tried nethack, but the screen was too darn small. Will try slash'em!!! Thanks
Here are some other great games:
Slitherlink.
Curvy (For two colored puzzles you have to set the second color to the middle between white and black).
Droid Fish. One oft the best chess engines with a very nice sleek design, perfect for the touch. Cuckoo engine with very low setting is great for kids learning chess - it makes a lot of mistakes
Shift. Black and White! Sadly almost unplayable without multitouch. Edit: Search for v1.2, works great and is maybe the only platform game working on STR
Search for "Simon Tatham's Puzzles" in Market. It is great.
tried nethack, but the screen was too darn small.

@apeine: Map volume up/down to sidebuttons --> zoom in and out
Thanks for the tip, gogolo2. Will try that! My buttons are already mapped.
Does anybody know where I can download FALLEN REALMS? It is a free app, but I couldn't download it through market, even though it is an android 2.1 version app. Tried all non-official download sites, but almost all of them lead me back to android market, and looking for "fallen realms apk" took me to almost 35 sites that I couldn't get anything at all.

Why not download it on your phone then back it up... and side load it to the nook.

Game: The Heroes of Three Kingdoms

I found this game and was amazed at how smooth it ran on my Xoom with Jelly Bean. It is a martial arts type fighting game in 3D with great graphics. The game is in Chinese when you install it but can be changed to full English. Just start the game and go to settings and change the slide to english.
Info about the game: http://approb.com/android-games/5140.html
I downloaded from here: http://www62.zippyshare.com/v/44635684/file.html
Greatbgame! Thank you so much for sharing
