i a looking for a theme with a black notification bar and an overal feel like the eclair theme(icons,ect.) have tried to do this myself but to no avail. if there is someone out there that would help i would greatly appreciate it. i an running TheOfficial DONUT TMO US/EU, ADP & AOSP (dream/32B) [12/22/09] -- v2.4.1

metamorph will help you accomplish what you want, there are plenty morphs that will let you mix and match
Is it possible to do a avatar theme?
I can help create a theme for you by tommarow just tell for what mod and what version and ill have it done.

Download any theme with a black notification bar made for Enoms TheOfficial ROM. Extract this, and in framework, extract android.policy.jar, framework-res.apk, and services.jar. Create three folders on your desktop, android.policy, framework-res, and services. In framework-res, create a folder called res, and in res, create a folder called layout.
From the theme, take the file framework/android.policy/classes.dex and place it in your folder android.policy.
From the theme, take the file framework/framework-res/layout/status_bar.xml and place it in your folder framework-res/res/layout.
From the theme, take the file framework/services/classes.dex and place it in your folder services.
Download my attached res.zip, and extract. There will be two folders, drawable and drawable-land. Move these folders to your folder framework/res (Note, do not place in layout, you should now have 3 folders in framework/res).
Open a blank txt file and copy the following:

Save this as Black_Bar_Enom.thm. Create a zip from the folders android.policy, framework-res, services, and the file Black_Bar_Enom.thm. Name this zip Black_Bar_Enom.zip (NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE SAME NAME FOR THE THM FILE AND THE ZIP, THEN METAMORPH WILL NOT WORK)
Download metamorph and the eclair theme by djengizz. Place the eclair theme and Black_Bar_Enom.zip in the folder /sdcard/AndroidThemes. From here, metamorph will do the rest, just be sure to apply the eclair theme before you apply the Black_Bar_Enom.zip morph.
I forgot to add, you now have your first metamorph to post. I am sure many users of Enoms ROM would appreciate it.

That is weird, there must be something in enoms source that I do not understand. Boot to recovery and flash your current ROM to do away with the bootloop.
Enom is very good about responding. You should either ask him what is wrong with my instructions, or ask him to port my black bar mod.

So I'm finally settling down on a ROM configuration I like. I'm currently using the following:
DamageControl 3.2.3
DroidX Boot Screen
Rotary Lockscreen
ADW Launcher
It's a great combination, but the one thing I miss right now came from the BakedSnack 9.6 ROM and that's the 6 segmented round battery meter in the status bar. Anyone know how to get that or at least something better than the default battery icon?

Theme the battery yourself, the icons you need to change are located in the framework-res.apk file, or wait a day or two whilst im making a video tutorial on how to change the battery

Thanks! Works Beautifully! This makes my dream theme almost complete! Next step, is there a way to bundle a set of updates (I have the zip files) into one zip I can flash over any ROM? Anyone point me to a link about building flashable zips? Time to learn to do these on my own...
So Bump... This isn't working as well as I thought... I ran it all day and it worked fine for the first half of the battery life, but it then went all the way down to 22% while still showing half battery (3 of 6 bars)... Sigh... Anyone else?

yes you can its really simple!!
if you have more than one zip to flash, you have to extract all the apks keeping the exact position of them
(if app apk -> system/app or framework apk -> system/framework)
try to download any rom or theme, open the zip and you will see how it works!!
keep in mind that you need the updater-script --> (download any theme and copy the whole directory "meta inf" in your new flashable zip.
once you have meta inf and system/app system/framework (or anything else) into your zip, Sign it!!!
signing is really simple too!

i've downloaded this battery stats themed (thank to icegad who made the metamorph) but, android 2.1 has the icons located in a new directory, not drawable-hdpi but drawable-mdpi. so, that archive posted by him doesnt work!
you have need to change that letter if you are using 2.1.

meta-morph doesn't work on 2.2
This is a gingerbread framework for froyo to reproduce -work in Fresh Froyo and CM 6, took it from krispy.
The different from froyo is the animation after sliding the unlock screen and the pop up notification.
I have try it, and this is nice just for refreshing our froyo before the source is come out.
This is not an update package.
How to apply it ?
First post is intend for releaser, but i'll give you an update. This update is the one that installed on my vogue but not include the fonts. Only for Fresh Froyo based off -ie incubus/kyle build (i'm never make a theme for CM )
How to make it by yourself ?
simply open your framework ( /system/framework/framework-res.apk ) with winrar or 7zip ( dont extract it ).
Then extract my 1st attachment on 1st post, add it to your framework via winrar or 7zip.
Remember to follow the structure of its folder.
Don't worry! I already did make a theme for CM lol. I just pulled the animations and it looks great with CM.

This update works quite well on any Froyo
Very cool animations and looks - Thanks!
I patched my framework and then reinstalled it via ADB shell (using root file manager caused a boot loop for some reason)
This theme looks fantastic, and I love the animations. My only problem is that I can no longer see my clock on the notification bar. I'm assuming it's because the numbers are still black therefor match the background.
Any way to change this? I can't make sense of the XML files, they don't look like anything I've ever seen before.
im guessing this doesnt work with odex'ed builds?

themes will never work on odex'd builds, its one of the few drawbacks to the odexing process

i searched for a while in desirehd forum, and didn't see a thread about custom transition animation
i guess a lot of us are searching for this =]

but i guess a detail instruction is necessary: (succeded just now)
1. copy "framework-res.apk" (/system/framework/framework-res.apk) to your sdcard
2. open it via 7zip on ur PC
3. Drag the anim folder with the animations (which you can download in the original thread) into /res folder in your framework-res.apk. This will replace the files currently in /res/anim.
4. go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9190418
5. download the attachment - Blank Update.zip.zip
6. Extract "Blank Update.zip.zip" then Open up the update.zip with 7zip
7. Drag your modified framework-res.apk to the "framework" folder in 7zip to overwrite the existing blank framework-res file
8. Close update.zip (agree to any messages about updating the file)
9. Copy update.zip to your sdcard
10. Flash the update.zip via ClockworkMod

I'm on an htc sense rom and used UOT kitchen to cook update.zip.
By the way, do you know how to get keyboard display/hide animation on stock rom?
It is far easier just to use MetaMorph and the relevant zip files can be found all over the forum. I will post them if anyone wants them.

One thing i could never get working was the stock android keyboard animation. The one where the keyboard slides up and down. On Sense roms there is no animation. Anybody here managed to get that animation working with Sense?

Nope, I installed the stock android animation files on Sense ROM (Revolution HD), and I have no keyboard animation, so this must be coded somewhere else...

and I applied this method to add animation + battery icon as well.

I have been running CyanogenMod 7 on my Milestone for a while now, and I love it! But I do think it could do with a little bit more of eye candy. So I was wondering, is there anyway to port the gingerbread window animations to CyanogenMod?
I have tried a few Metamorph tricks, but wasn't successful. I also heard about an app called AnimMod which is supposed to do this, but I cant try it out as I am not allowed to buy paid apps in my country. So, I would be glad if anyone posted a link to a working procedure for changing the window animations.
All windows animations are in the framework-res.apk under the res/anim folder.
You can replace those with the GB animation files and apply again. Please note that you need to replace only those that are there in both the framework files.

Where can I find the gingerbread animation files? I dont have the gingerbread ROM, so would it be possible to download the files from some place.
Also, I am curious to know, why weren't these animations implemented in the CyanogenMod in the first place. I would have thought most people would appreciate the better animations of Gingerbread.
Edit: I just watched a walkthrough, and it seems that the animations in CyanogenMod are the same as those in Gingerbread. Still, it would be nice to know where I can find some new animation files
Wow I forgot that I put this together.
I named it FlyIn_FlipOut because I combined the Flying animation with the Flip Animation.
I actually spent alot of time on it pinpointing specific things which was a pain in the ass.
Anyway, it's attached.

FroyoMOD ( animations found in Luca's FroyoMOD )
All you need to do is to copy it into the folder that i mentioned in the previous post and apply it again.

1. Where is the framework-res.apk located? I found one in the system/ framework folder but it is named as framerwork-res-mot.apk.
2. How do i change the files? and finally how do i install the apk.
In short, it would be great if you could post the steps to modify CyanogenMod to incorporate the new animations.

Download the theme updater flashable template zip file from here.
Download and extract the contents of the zip file provided by Zeppe to your desktop.
Your framework-res.apk is in your /system/framework folder. Using 7zip or winzip, open framework-res.apk and replace the animation files in the /res/anim folder.
Copy the framework-res.apk into the /system/framework folder of the theme updater template zip file. Copy the template zip file into openrecovery/updates folder and apply in AOR after wiping dalvik/cache.

Regarding screen on/off animation, not possible. Its a feature of GB and not easy to port to froyo.
