I love my Xperia X1 so far. Mostly good things, but some issues:
1) Video playback very choppy = no solution (same: http://www.inxperia.com/forums/xperia-x1/281-xperia-x1-will-not-play-video.html)
This is heart-shattering for me. I have my anime that watch @ breaktime at work and couldn't believe that there's no decent video player (TCPMP doesn't work with X1 + coreplayer has no video acceleration and is choppy as hell). Windows Media Player works, but the interface sucks compared to TCPMP/Core and doesn't support a lot of formats. Having to convert each video by hand with SUPER isn't a viable solution for me.
2) Buzzing sound during phone calls(same: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4219836#post4219836)
3) My last phone was a SE W810i. I have a Plantronics 520 BT headset and it does NOT search and connect with the 520 when it's in range. I have to manually press the button on the bluetooth headset after I reset my device/turn off > on BT to "pair" the headset to my phone. Please, is there ANY way to prevent this behavior? I just want my phone to find my headset, connect to it, and stay connected. It's difficult to let go of this behavior since my previous (inferior) SE phone did it perfectly.
Have you tried updating it to a new ROM?
A custom ROM perhaps? I'm using Valkyrie 2.9, and it is very good at playing high quality videos---and I have not noticed any buzzing problems with a call.

Hi Fuzalert2K,
No, I haven't tried a custom ROM. I've been mostly scared of bricking my new gadget. I've done them before on my Axim X51v.
RE: high quality video playback -- how is that possible? What video player are you using? Did you compress in a special format? I was under the impression that unless you used WMP/formats compatible with Windows Media Player, videos would run choppy on the Xperia no matter what; this is because there's no compatible video player that accessed the graphics driver.
Can someone clarify this? I would gladly flash to another ROM if it meant video was fixed I use Coreplayer. Unfortunately, TCPMP didn't even run (both confirmed problems on XDA)
Shameful Bump. Can anyone confirm this? Will a hacked ROM solve the video choppiness problem?
try to update to via seus maybe u dont have R3A... im using custom rom and dont have problem with video also... and for video playback i use core player or windows media player or media panel...

I'm running a High Resolution video on my Xperia using the Xperience Panel. The Xperia handles MP4 videos without much problem..
I highly recommend you "hard-spl" your phone,
then flash it using the micro-SD method.
I have flashed my phone a little over 50 times, without the slightest hint of anything going wrong.
If you want a new interface (TouchFlo 3D), I suggest you use Valkyrie 2.9 FS, or if you don't, then go for Valkyrie Xperio. Both roms are created by agent_47 under the Xperia ROM development section. They are really fast. You can also enjoy high-resolution youtube videos!
Hi guys,
Yes, Windows Media Player does fine because it has the graphics acceleration drivers, but because HTC did not release the graphics driver chipset software, so there is no hardware acceleration for videos on Coreplayer or anything else except for WMP. How in the world are you guys not having this problem? Legions of users on XDA/Coreplayer forums are having the same problems. What FPS are you guys getting?
Also, does TCPMP work on your Xperias w/ custom ROMS.
I think thinking of trying the "Valkyrie XPERIO". I want a minimalistic ROM built for 1) Stability 2) speed

Well, I don't use coreplayer.
What is wrong with windows media player anyway? (Is the one in the Xperiance Panel?)
I do think I'm running at least 25 frames.... not much lag.

WMP does not support a variety of formats, doesn't even come close to the configurability, ease-of-use (once configured to one's own preferences), updated frequently, and overall much better than WMP.
I'm very interested to hear from people who run custom ROMS -- does Coreplayer experience the same lag as before?

I tried a custom ROM -- Touch_X_10_1_X_TREME_BLUE -- a favorite on XDA.
Wonderful improvement over OEM, but alas DID NOT FIX video choppy problem. Whoever states otherwise is either mistaken, lying, or has ridiculously lower standards as to what constitutes "playing video" on the Xperia. I can't even get watchable rates with coreplayer. WMP works if it has a format compatible with it. Stuff like Dattebayo's Bleach (AVI)-- don't even bother.
It really sucks that HTC won't work with Coreplayer's devs to open up and give them the ability to add video acceleration. Stupid HTC

Try another custrom ROM such as energyrom or valkyrie. I myself do with these roms and they are pretty good. By using coreplayer i can watch most kinds of video format (except realplayer format : .rm,.ram...) without any lag (WMP does). So just try, it's safe & fun.
I will try valkyrie and install it very carefully using RUU method (direct microsd method doesn't work for me).
Unfortunately, I just don't see how a custom ROM solves the video lag problem. Can someone post a video of coreplayer playing dattebayo's bleach episode 233? (http://www.dattebayo.com/t/b233.torrent)
On my X1, it plays, but is choppy; choppy means that the subtitles are not smooth and jump around.

Just get the coreplayer. SHell out 25 bucks or 12 quid
same error on my device. (tcpmp 0.81beta)
(i`ve got my german qwertz xperia x1 today.) tcmp suxx.
no stereo speakers, no htd compatibel accelerometer. (no G-sensor htc compatible)
core 1.2.5 works with mp3 + videos on x1.
i`ve tested it already.
but the videos are NOT running smoth like the core player on my htc diamond.
there are a lot of lost frames. we have to wait for a firmware update with updated
drivers.
i hope the HTC XPERIA X1 will got an own forum category on xda-dev`s, with rom developement.
I have the free 0.72RC1 running on my Toshiba G900 that too has 480x800. And this is no problem, running all very smooth. I am waiting for my x1, but I am sure, this TCPMP-version will work as good on the X1.
What one has to do is to try the video settings. On my G900 I use the "GDI" but this is depending on the PPC and can be different on X1.
Even largest .avi are played very smooth.

Sounds more like an issue with Coreplayer rather then the X1 itself. The panels alone use 3d acceleration so the xperia doesnt need any firmware update for drivers. Does Coreplayer pick up the Ati imageon under the Videos tab in preference??
Once it becomes a bit more poplar I'm sure people will post in the CoreCodec forum about tehe issue. I know I will for sure since I bought the app for the Touch Pro and Kaiser.

Sadly, this does not work on my UK X1i. Video frame changes every few seconds and audio is disjointed. I've played around with the settings, to little (if any) effect.

Does anybody have h.264 files playing well on coreplayer or TCPMP?
in fact, i don't really even know what's the difference between the two they have such similar names.
h.264 will open on TCPMP (I installed the h.264 codec), and it shows the first frame, but otherwise video may move one frame the entire clip and audio may play half a second of audio. I tried boosting the buffer settings (what are the optimal settings?) and the video format (no idea which one is for what.
Coreplayer will open it and tell me it doesn't support h.264 when the webpage says it does!! It will play the audio perfectly, but no video at all.
Very confusing.
well, h.264 needs lots of cpu performance.
in fact i've got problem to play h264 videos on my "old " P4 2,3ghz laptop...
so i dont know if its possible to run it on the X1
good!

Hey guys
Title says it all
I was wondering, after all the new drivers that have been released and all the discussions has any1 actually been able to use the Kaiser as a decent video player??
Ive been trying, tweaking Core Player, trying different drivers, different setting when i encode etc etc... But i cant get the video to play smoothly! I still get "tearing" between scenes... Its just not a pleasure to watch
Anyone else had more luck of late??
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=357330
So i guess then the short answer is... No??
I see that Core Player has its own codec or whatever it is, meant specially for the Qualcomm CPU, to try and get adequate video performance out of it... But for some reason when i use "video output QTV" i just get a purple block on the screen and audio!!!
Of the remaining options, Directdraw, raw framebuffer and GDI, does any1 know what the pros and cons are? Do any seem to work better than the rest??
Will try the MP4 tip tonight and see if it helps!
I can play YouTube stuff just fine on my Tilt with the newest TCPMP. Haven't tried other stuff yet.

I use coreplayer version 1.2.2 and QTV display driver delivers up to 70% better performance than TCPMP. Try to find a solution to your problem on coreplayer forum.
Where did you get the 70% number from?
Im not sure if this helps...but
I converted a few movies that I had downloaded a while back thru windows media player...I think Pulp Fiction or something. It played just fine. Great video, great audio, good synchronization. Really impressive. All this on AT&T Tilt.
Keep working on it or flash a ROM since most have the support u need to watch the video. Honestly, u would probably benefit from reading the forums for about flashing a ROM than to mess with new codecs and other drivers.
Have u tried downloading TCPMP and core player. Install both. Then open TCPMP in background. Now open ur windows media player and try to play a video.
Now if u can stream videos from ninjavideo.net ur doing better than I
Cheers

It seems that they have an option to enable "TyTN II driver mode" but they dont actually support the processor in the TyTN II...Odd!!
Apparently version 1.2.5 has a fix for the black screen in QTV mode (on WM 6.1 ROMs) does any1 have 1.2.5 to verify this??
That's right, they've fixed it.

There's a benchmark option in coreplayer. Play an avi file first on QTV driver and then on Rawframe buffer you'll see the difference. Than if you're still not convinced you can play the same file in TCPMP on rawframebuffer and compare the results.
Youtube w/ the new manilla 2d works flawlessly for me, as does any .flv i just plop on the phone (without re-encoding). Streaming mobitv is a bit laggy. But other then that my video runs great. For awhile quicksilverscreen was working str8 off the website too. (seems to not be working atm however).
I installed no new video drivers or anything just manilla2d. .flv has always worked since i installed the tmpg stuff.
Yes I Can!!!!
Just installed Core Player 1.25 and it works PERFECTLY!!!!
QTV works in the new ROMs in V1.25 and it plays my videos perfectly! Benchmarking, my frame rates arent much different to the RAW buffer, but the videos visually play better, there is no tearing as scenes change, they look great....
V1.25 does the trick!!!

here is what i think of from the top of my head...qtv is one of the options in the video driver selection in Coreplayer...Coreplayer is the paid version of tcpmp...From my experience, it really smoothens out the transition of scenes in this mode, but it also depends on how the video is encoded I think, coz' the movies I had encoded much earlier which i used with my treo 650 were still choppy even with the qtv display....But my recent acquisition, Ironman, it plays quite flawlessly...
v 1.25 refers to the latest version of Coreplayer, which fixes most of the bugs of earlier version...You can scope it out at corecodec.com, but sadly there is no trial version for it though so if you really want to watch and play videos on your tilt, it might be worth it for you...
As to the youtube videos, you can either:
Buy and use Coreplayer
Download the Youtube player extracted from the opal
Use the recomp version of tcpmp, the orginal won't work on the 6.1 so look for the recomp
Or if you wanna show off a bit on the bus or something, download opera 9.5 and flashlite 3.1, The flash vid will play as a part of the web page....
well, i bought an X1 about 3 weeks ago and it is undoubtedly the best phone i have ever owned, the only problem i am having with it is the video playback.
Since i download DIVx movies, i would like to just stick them in my X1 and watch them at full speed. I tried using core player but since it is not hardware accelerated, i could only watch the movies in medium quality which is MUCH worse than the high quality and if i set at high quality i get only 80% speed.
And i see people trying to get the best possible conversion settings in order to be able to play high quality videos on the Media Panel or on Media Player. I find this useless since it takes FOREVER to actually convert videos and since i have so many, it would be a very tedious task.
I have a possible solution for this and i have no clue how to actually do this so this is my request to the brilliant developers here,
Is there a way to actually get the divx codec somehow from the samsung omnia and port it to other devices like X1 and seveal HTCs??? I mean i think it is theoretically possible since ppl have actualy gotten the Omnia ATI drivers right???
Hope this works!!!
I guess you could just download the divx mobile player from
http://labs.divx.com/MobileCommunity
I haven't used it in x1 but I did use it in the touch pro. I did not like the speed. As it wasn't my phone, I didn't bother to do any tweaks. I think it will be fine on the x1.
maybe i can help

well there are a lot of factors here, and im certainly no expert, but ill give this a whirl...
i have had my xperia for just about a month now and i have been watching divx movies on my coreplayer at high video quality flawlessly. or so i thought.. I watched some pretty fast paced movies too, like the matrix... and they seemed fine to me. again i dont know if any of my suggestions will make anydifference, or even be relavent to you, but i figured i could at least try to help. I will share what i found in general with my x1 and the core player
1. the x1 is highly tweakable in so many ways. I dont know how much youve looked around at how people are speeding it up using sktools, or the now famous storage card accelerator, but these things really do help. you should try them and see if you get any improvement. here is the link to the thread where this is all going down... to make it simple.. get skt tools, optimize, and get the sd card accelerator... the rest you can mess with at your own pace, but this will give you a big start.... anyway if you havent tried this stuff.. it may help..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459328&highlight=show
2. god knows the coreplayer has so many $*$#* options... but here is something i noticed deep in the canyons of the player after my core player was bogging down horrendously for apparently no reason.... i have a lot of files on my sd card, and when i first opened the core player... the first few times even.. it lagged so much i couldnt figure out why... then i realized it was trying to scan my sd card and it wasnt really teling me it was doing this... there is an option that comes selected as default that tells the coreplayer to scan for files for its library on startup... if you have thousands of files like i did, and you didnt realize it was trying to build a library, like i didnt, and you opend and closed it several times... ok you get the point.. once it finally built its library, i found the option to turn off the auto scan, and boom,... suddenly it was working much much faster
3. i dont know if this makes any difference whatsoever, but i have an x1i, and i bet you do too, but if you have an x1a, there may be video playback differences in these "international" and "US" models that could be a factor too.
im guessing that what you are referring to, and what i have posted may not even relate, but it never hurts to try. FYI i just benchmarked for a minute or so while watching a divx movie and it read average somewhere in the 80% range... i dont know what that means, but the movie seemed to be plaing perfectly...
div x player
just tried the divx player to see how it compared to the core player...
core player works much better.... divx player was quite choppy.
maybe im missing something.. and i probably am, but the core player seems to be playing the divx movies perfectly at high quality
well, i have tried the divx player and it is absolute crap compared to coreplayer
benchmarking at 80 percent means that u skip about 1-2 frames every second. now might sound like much but i notice it and it is very annying. yes i have tried all the things u mentioned but did not notice much change except for with the memory card booster.
also the media panel and media player are hardware accelerated which means that they make use of the onboard ati graphics chip. coreplayer is not. also imagine watching a divx movie on the media panel wouldnt that be cool?? with the great interface and the speed and smoothness of the bond trailer?? i would very much like that. hope someone can get the codec somehow!
i see
thanks for the education. i guess ignorance was bliss on my part..
i hope we do find a solution here. any idea why the downloaded divx player works so poorly? maybe its tweakable?
I guess it simply sucks. Coreplayer is best player, and unfortunately by far margin. Unfortunately because there is low chance any other player will popup soon. Sooner or later Coreplayer will find a way to follow current devices.
Btw. be sure you use Coreplayer with TytnII qTV driver (should be default settings for 1.3). You can also disable AVC filter and high quality zoom. Other then that nothing really has effect on the playback speed.
The best player.
But almost half new movies are in AC3 format.
And CorePlayer don't support AC3.
core player team claim that they will support all qtv shipset in version 2
so just have to wait a litte while
ahhhhh thanks fo the info Tywith, thats definitely something to look forward to. i mean if im not mistaken, the TytnII does not have an ati chipset built in. having support for qtv chipset dedicated to XPERIA will definitely make it run smoother
all we have to do is wait.
Look at this sticky: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467590
If you convert your movies to mp4 you can play your movies using media player with hardware acceleration. You can create a joblist to convert multiple movies when you're sleeping
If you wanna use CorePlayer with hardware acceleration, use the DirectDraw in
Settings > Video. I've tried it and it works perfectly. It really takes full advantage of the Adreno 200 GPU (ATI 3D chip) and CPU.

which version of coreplayer are you using?
1.3.6 didn't have hw-acceleration for playback. sure, on a good rom and with video-files not being too demanding, playback was nice -> sw-playback. but it didn't support our hw directly. and from what i can see, 1.3.6 is the last version for winmo.
btw, funny to see they closed forums on their site. probably too many threads "when will you finally deliver what you promised?" and accuses of coreguy producing vaporware...
Hi all,
I believe this issue is ROM related that is why I am starting the thread here.
Issue:
CorePlayer starts lagging, dropping frames and is getting the audio out of sync on all Windows Mobile 6.5 ROMs which I have tried, including NRGZ28's 6.5 and 6.5.1 ROMS as we all now his ROMs are one of the best.
Currently I am running stock Windows Mobile 6.5 5.2.21854 (Build 21854.5.0.80) same issue - however if I turn off the TouchFlo 3d (Manila 2.1) all works fine.
Tried using cleanRAM - no good.
Any advice or help on this will be highly appreciated and I believe not only for me
Regards to all.

Any advice or help on this will be highly appreciated and I believe not only for me

I never wanted to run a cooked rom before the official 6.5 upgrade came because on WM6.1 my Rhodium played normal 700MB Divx files quite good, while a friend that had been running every unofficial 6.5 rom had very poor playback/ image tearing, and the images looked very rasterized when filling the whole screen even though the same video on my phone running official HTC 6.1 rom looked very good.
He tried installing all of the drivers available like ati, neo driver pack, exc, but nothing worked. I figured that it was probably due to the cooked roms.
So after the official 6.5 upgrade came out I switched and ever since my video playback is bad, the images tear, and look really rasterized.
I now think that the poor video playback is either:
A.) some software/ drivers that were in the official 6.1 rom but are not in the 6.5 rom
or
B.) something in coreplayer is not working with windows phone 6.5 causing it to run very badly on 6.5.
look in the Rhodium Software section, not rom section. there are tips for coreplayer playback
I traced the problem back to Touchflo3d after trying different things. When I turn off touchflo3d it works without lagging etc. It's a work around I always use whan I want to playback a movie in Coreplayer.
I new there would be others having the same issues. it is not the core player - I tried all suggestions, switchin qtv to gdi, larger buffer size - no good. it must be the 6.5 and what drivers it comes with. that is why I am writing here as the cooks now what they put in their drivers and might now what can fix this. what I assume is the ne manila 2.1 eating too much resources, because when switched off - core player works like e charm.
It is a workaround but everybody knows its a pain in the a** to turn off touchflo3d to play a movie and then switch it back on after that.
So, dear Cooks, enlight us with your knowledge, please
Regards to all
this only thing made me hate myself for trusting htc again (1st, p3300 with poor hardware for full price)
I have the same problem and Im on the 6.5 roms. Coreplayer does not play anything smooth at all. I was forced to encode my music videos and watch them in WMP but is there a solution to coreplayer yet?
I tried playing around with all the settings (GDI , DirectDraw, QTV,) tried everything on the 6.5 roms and its a no go.
I even tried to flash back to a 6.1 rom but phone hung on boot screen so I had to force bootloader and go back to 6.5 rom. hmmm...
By observation,
when you occupy memory higher than 50%, Core player tends to Lag and look funny, that's why when you disable touchflo3D (takes about 7-8% on memory), video's can play normal and look normal. When I had the default stock rom , i managed to disable many things thru the registry and brought the 44% down to 26% which allowed me to leave touchflo3D on and use core player with any issues. but now that im in wm6.5 currently having issues trying to disable stuff to bring down memory.
Long story short - Maintain your memory about 46% or less and core player will play and look perfectly.

Im still not sure what the problem is. I managed to go back to TMobile stock rom and disabled touchflow 3d on wm6.1 still cant get any video to play smooth.
The videos im testing are mp4 with 800kbit bitrate at native resoulution also at 25fps and still choppy.
You know this should go into the General section but as to an answer I read that Coreplayer does have a driver issue with WM6.5 and they have to update their software. But to get good playing videos why not just use the WM6.5 stock video player. You can use it by selecting a video through albums. It plays everything just fine. I have a Blu-Ray rip Transformers 2 movie that is 1.48gb and it plays perfectly

Do you happen to know the video bitrate of the blu-ray rip? Im curious of the highest video bitrate possible on the touchpro2 with smooth playback.

It is a video driver issue in this case. Same amount of memory with or without TF3D - lag occurs with TF3D and no lag without. It is only confined to the TP2 and WM6.5 because the Pure doesn't experience any lag with TF3D.
I noticed it with the ATT stock rom and the newer Manilla 2.5 based roms. It must be some conflict with the video drivers. Manilla is winning the conflict.
i have core player and i never experienced a lag even with tf3d on

i play everything with the default album. it allows hardware acceleration and handles mp4 and h.264 perfectly. someone in the blackstone forum even made a wvga converter that works perfectly.

And more importantly what video setting do you have and what sort of videos are you playing? The issue involves QTv and I am sure anything higher than 320x240 with decent bit rates. As I mentioned before QTv appears to be the issue.
I remember reading some stuff from Betaboy (I think that is his name) on the video driver issues with the Qualcomm devices and TF3D is the only program to take full advantage of the video chip. At some point something broke with the TP2, WM6.5 and TF3D.

i thought i had a a bigger size but i didn't.
same problem
I am having the same problem with all ROMs
in 6.1, no problems playing, anything higher on ANY ROM and it starts to lag.
I personally can't use the built in player as I play divx and mp4 files, and windows media player does not seem to like those.
I have Core Player 1.3.2

I am running Core Player 1.3.6 - same problem, I was on 1.3.5 with ROMs 6.1 and it was happy, now ... I have to turn off TF3D.
And people, understand that we want to play DIVX and XVID files (AVIs) downloaded directly, I am sick converting files and thinking which will be the best resolution, bit rate, etc ....
I hope you understand.
The Dutch stock 6.1 rom has absolutely no problems with coreplayer. Stock 6.5 gives me sometimes smooth playback, sometimes not. I watch divx/xvid with SD resolutions.
hey people ive spent weeks trying to play a smooth video on my x1 so far everything i done had failed whether it was wmp or tcpmp or even coreplayer, read almost every post tried almost every converter and pretty still stuck seems as if my old tytn plays videos smoother so i can only hope coreplayer releases a new version soon! if anyone knows anything please post thanks

What ROM do you use?
I am able to play the Bond trailer (.mp4) without problems, with WMP and TCPMP.
Link to TCPMP:

im using the pheonix rom build 56502 WWE. is this tcpmp any better than the latest coreplayer? because so far coreplayer played videos better than wmp and tcpmp although it was still laggy maybe it's my drivers but im using the omina driver and get a better benchmark than the rest with sktools 792 to be exact
i've been using the video encoder provided in the sticky and it has by far surpassed all other video encoders that i've used. it takes advantage of the hardware acceleration in the X1 but the only video app that uses it is WMP and the Media Panel.

I don't know bout you but using that encoder takes 6 to 7 hours and sometimes it freezes, I don't have the time and patience for that. @ Zeyn Karim I have a collection of video drivers that might maybe improve your performance. Not 100% sure it will but I guess it won't hurt to try.
tried and failed with that converter lol even waited a whole night to encode only to be dissapointed the next morning.
anyway thanks guys for the support and drivers will run couple tests and let ya know the results hopefully this will solve my problem not sure why but my media player doesn't seem to run as good as everyone claims it does, i should remove the omina driver lets hope that's the problem
tried every driver and no luck! looks like i'll never be able to watch anything on my xperia! so i give up! stupid coreplayer! what's taking them so long! been reading up and looks like they rather work on the stupid UI instead of focus on HW support! i don't care if coreplayer looks crap! only thing i want is a smooth crisp video is that too much to ask! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Yeah I'm kinda disappointed as well. I was watching a lot of videos on my old wm 5.0 smartphone but the Xperia fails. I activated "Raw FrameBuffer" and videos got smoother - still don't think thats what you are looking for...(only tried out fairly low quality movies...)

This version of TCMP I get video playback in GDI mode very smooth I watched Shutter Island on it with no lag.
Yeah,my old tytn may not have been the best phone in the world but atleast i could watch some of my favourite shows whenever i felt like.
thanks viper89 will test out the tcpmp, glad to see youve been watching something on your x1,can you please state which encoder you used and are you also using the omina driver?

I actually didn't encode the video, I don't watch movies that much so I really don't bother with encoding and the one that is stickied takes ages to encode . The video drivers that are installed in my phone are:Chainfire-HD2-3D-Driver-Patch-2.0( not sure if this has any effect in are phones),Chainfire-TG01-D3DM( not sure if this any effect either lol),Driver_Ati d3d, SJ SamsungOmnia_Driver_D3D and optxperiabeta02( It makes the sound in the X1 louder but it also said that it changes the video driver to.)
Wow you installed all of them! what's your benchmark with sktools? and does the "optxperiabeta02" damage your speaker in any way? if not could you please post it thanks,Is it a noticable difference?

My Sktool benchmark is: Integer 331, Floating Point 7.71, Draw Bitmaps 656. Also a important fact is it also depends on your rom Stock or none Stock and if it's 6.1 or 6.5 and if your running Sense 2.5 in your rom(which I am), so my stats most likely would be higher in a stock 6.1 rom. I've had my phone for 8 month and been using optxperiabeta02 for 7 month and no speaker damage. And it makes a hell of a noticeable difference lol.
my benchmark is integer 331, floating point 7.47 ,ram access 1519 , draw bitmaps 800 , main write 11070 ,main read 17066 still have no idea why im having video problems.by the way im running 6.1 with manilla 2.5 sense

Hmm draw bitmaps 800 nice. It might because your on 6.1 oppose to my 6.5. Your still having videos problems playing videos in GDI mode in TCMP?

showthread.php?t=684106 havnt got a chance to test yet but will try as soon as i get time did you try kinoma play? im interested to find out hows the playback. damn coreplayer if only they would support our HW id would be so awesome!
Guys there is really a simple answer to this thread: There is only one solution for decent video playback on Xperia X1. Convert your movies to mp4 (h264 avc codec, max. resolution 800 * 480, bitrate 600 kbps) and play them in WMP or Media Xperience Panel (I prefer the latter). You can either use the converter provided by xda (projection) or any other software that supports this codec. There might be some differences in duration of a convertion and it is definitely dependant on your computer's specs (processor) but generally converting videos is a time consuming task and 6 - 7 hours isn't really inappropriate for entire movies (2-3 hours). Everything else won't work. Coreplayer, Pocketplayer, Kinoma etc. do not support hw acceleration and thus 480 * 320 is the maximum resolution that can be played back using those players. If you want high quality movies (what is definitely possible on the Xperia X1) you will have to face convertion to the right format. There aren't any drivers that do miracles and there aren't any insider tips. Only convertion will do the trick.
thank you altae for those bad/good news
Maybe I'm missing something. I've never had any problems playing videos or movies on my X1. Just rewatched Princess Blade on it the other day, in fact.
The truth can sometimes be hard But let's stay serious: It's a pity that WMP or Media Xperience Panel do not support more codecs especially the very widely used xvid/dvix codecs.
But the positive news are: It's definitely possible to play high quality movies as long as they are in the right format. And for all the short videos you would like to show a friend you have always the possibility to play divx/xvid movies in 480 * 320 which isn't that bad for this purpose.
