APN added to......... - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

a rom, after-the-fact.
Is it possible to add "Haykuro's APN list" to a rom after it's installed onto a cell?
I miss the different APN options.........
Is there a reason why newer roms don't include these settings?

here is the apns-conf.xml file from ramjet7 which is haykuro's apn list plus some australian apns added as well. i do not know if you can install it after flashing a rom but you could add it to the rom, sign it, then flash it. which should work in theory. here is the link to the ramjet thread in case you need it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524074&highlight=ramjet
just remove the .zip extension from the file and you are good to go

I guess from this posting, i can just push the file and reboot.
if you want to manually do it (to prevent wiping)
pull apns-conf.xml from the latest update and do:

adb push apns-conf.xml /system/etc
then go to APN settings (System -> Wireless -> Mobile.....) then hit menu and press "Reset to defaults" (this will re-apply the new apns-conf.xml).

[FIX][Tested-Working] How to fix MMS on Sense 3.0 Roms [Updated]

The problem is that the port is from Sprint, and thus, the APNs point to, well Sprint.
Here is how to fix!
1. Navigate to /data/VR-System/system.etc/
2. There is a file named apns-conf.xml
3. Replace Content with:

4. Take framework-res.apk out of the Rom
5. Decompile framework-res.apk
6. Navigate to /res/xml/apns.xml

9. Important part! Take the apns.xml from the newly compiled framework, and place it in the old in the same place. Can now delete the newly created framework!
10.Reintegrate into the rom!

You can use bettercut to make a shortcut to your APN settings and edit like that. There are a few other ways aswell ... you can use QPST, if your handy in that area.

Can You confirm this works I tried it this morning on Gingersense remix and it didn't work. I also entered manually in the mms settings

I cant as my carrier is actually sprint. but when I load a vzw rom on my phone I use the same method to get my sprint mms working

Ok tried a few times even pulled the apns posted for optimized still unabe to send a pic,however regular texting works

I updated the thread to reveal the proper way to fix MMS, this method is MUCH easier, and is the PROPER way, and well - actually works!

ohh. well i tried replacing it with mine, and it didn't do anything. so it doesn't do any harm to try.

It must say version 8, and it must have the XML version at the top! Also, you may have to make this change to the rom itself, and not after firstboot as it may not work! The file needs to look like this:

To add your rom info in About section of your settings

Hi all iam apk5656 and tis is my fourth thread sorry for my bad en
first all credits goes to balamu96m

but in my guide here i will explain how to theme settings.apk in extremely jb/kk style
first follow my guide here on how to enable dark/light theme if you want jb then enable dark one and if you want kk enable he light one http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes/light-black-theme-framework-res-t3366072 after you finish then you can start here :highfive: :highfive: :highfive:
ok lets start
requirement is
1-settings.apk
2-framework-res.apk
3-just your brain lol
first thing in my guide here we will change your settings header
decompile your framework-res
download this mod edit - links removed
go to drawable-mdpi and past these images there
if you want kk style then replace the image wich in kk folder with yours and if you want jb style replace themage in jb folder with yours
now recompile the framework and replace it with yours and you will got the new settings header
now lets go to theme your settings.apk :highfive:
decompile it and replace this icons mod edit - links removed
with yours wich in drawable-mdpi-ldpi or hdpi
the go to settings.xml

3. Navigate to res/values/ids.xml and add the following code to the bottom...

The stock 3 button softkey image will display after doing this, the images I'm using came from this thread - [SOFTKEYS] Softkey Collection so a big thanks to @atticus182 for them.

You can try built in systemUI tuner: go into quickest tings menu and long press on the settings icon next to the usericon. You can then access the UI tuner in the normal settings close to the developer options

You have to add a keycode, and choose menu function (don't remeber the exact name, sorry).
You also have to get the "3 dot" image before (something like the png attached, but I didn't try it), save it in the device and choose it from there, when asked after the keycode selection.
Please notice that the ui tuner is a bit buggy, and if you switch off the phone you will loose the button (twicking the navbar will bring it back).

I've tried your SystemUI.apk, and every time I boot I get stuck at a "System UI has stopped; close app" loop.
What tools did you use to decompile the original SystemUI.apk and recompile it?

Apktool. That SystemUI is an old one so wouldn't try using it now, in fact I'm going to rewrite the op as I've since figured out how to achieve this by editing the navigation_bar.xml directly.
