Hello fellow xda forumers sad first post, But I plan on being active here & contributing.
I've looked into boot animation swapping, after looking around the forums here I've found a bootanimation.zip containing a bunch of png's for sequences in a folder called "part0", I've made images to sequence, But am unaware how to do this & every guide has only confused me. Im using CM 4.2.15.1, G1 "Dream" incase that helps on a 1.6 base. I believe the nickname is "cupcake" pardon me if im wrong. If anyone could offer their assistance or point me in the proper direction for a guide it would be much appreciated.
My sequence is uploaded here, note its semi "SWF". It's Louise as thats my forum name everywhere I go if available.
Edit: I've realised I most likely posted this in the wrong section, sorry for that.
Rename you images from boot_00003.png through boot_00097.png
Place them in part0
Rename another set boot_00098.png through boot_00146.png
Place them in part1
Edit the desc.text from 320 256 to 320 to 480
See attachement
Thanks a bunch, Will put it in now and see how it goes!
Seem's like its not working with CM4, instead of complaining: Updating to CM5 seeing how it goes since CM4, seems...obsolete compared to CM5.
It is obsolete, you will love CM5

Kii is recieving update.script not found error, Im re-rooting the entire thing!
I hope..this works.
*Maybe because Im using a JFe Recovery Mode*
edit: CM5 is now installed
Using the boot animation from above, it's just black *Used the commands
su
cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/
reboot
Black load up
Great job updating to CM5, you will be happy!
As you may have guessed, Eclair+ firmwares (2.0+) are the only versions of Android to accept bootanimations in the way you wish to accomplish. As CM4 is Donut (1.6) based, you were experiencing problems.
I wish I could help you with the bootanimations, but to be honest, I've only ever been able to get them half-working.
its a black screen because you have compressed your images in the zip, you must set it to store in the zip for it to work, read my tutorial, link in sig

hey. do you think it would be possible to make a flashable zip for the android scribble boot animation (the one without flares) ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696193 ) and a flashable zip for the super circle battery for CM6 please?
I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

They have that bootscreen as an option too, Mike. Just follow the instructions on my second post, but you don't have to upload a framework-res as the cyanogen framework-res files are already available in the dropdown at the end. I tried the Cyanogen 6.1 RC1 selection they had and it worked at least until the 121 nightly. I'm back on plain rc1 now.
*edit* well, third post I made now....since something freaky happened and this is now the first post.
This is a flashable zip that adds the circle battery to your status bar and the dancing droid boot animation. It was made with the uotkitchen (circle.glx.nl) and tested to work on fr007 (does NOT require de-odexed rom). Should work on all of the LiberatedFR (froyo) roms.
Nandroid backup and flash from recovery. If you don't know how to do this just search the forums....as this has been explained too many times.
Just thought it would be convenient for some people if one was already made and posted.
Disclaimer: not responsible for...anything.
Thanks!!!!
works great. thanks. any chance for a green to yellow to red circle?

Guys just head on over to http://circle.glx.nl/ and create to your heart's content. All I did was the circle battery and bootsplash (they have several to choose from). The other items like status bar mods, etc may cause you to bootloop if not using a de-odexed rom....so careful.
When at the end, upload this framework-res.apk. I have attached the framework-res.apk for the liberatedFR rom to this message for your convenience.
The dancing Droid is entertaining, but the real benefit is the circle battery indication. I can now delete my battery widget. Thanks!

Wow! Very easy! Just installed the circle batt "version F" with white numbers on the wife's Aria.
The wife: Aria - Cyanogen RC1 looking fine with her new circle battery
Me: Captivate - Cognition 2.3b3 sportin' Fightspit's circle battery among other things!
**Wishin' we had the kitchen on the Captivate side**

Is there any kind of tutorial on how to do this circle? I'd like to do one that is green to yellow to red. (Since I just installed yours, I don't even know if it changes - 77% and still blue)
Got a walkthrough on how to make one from start to zip?

its very easy and walks you through the steps. the hardest part is seperating your framework apk but thats simple!

for some reason, when i add boot animation, the image appears very large... the scribble was really jerky and the only letters on the screen were "ndrio". the "a" and "d" were off the sides.
I made one in the kitchen, haven't installed it yet. Is there no way to customize the notification bar color for HTC Aria users? I see that there is some note about desire users only. What is an Aria user (running Liberated with Froyo FR006) to do?
I just made a new one in the kitchen. I am running cyanogen 6.1 and designated as such in the drop down everything appears to have applied except the battery circle is always green despite checking gradient. Any ideas?

Again, I just posted that zip and don't actually have anything to do with the site. As I said, just the circle and boot splash were confirmed to work with the standard FR rom. Any of the other features should require the de-odexed version of the rom, which I haven't tried. That may be your issue.
Hey everyone.
Thought id make a thread so everyone can show there fav boot animations.
& maybe even shutdown animation ?
Lets see what ya got
Does the boot animation have to be made specifically for the DHD or can it be from any device?
Where would I find one and how would I install it?

i dont think they hve to be made specifically for the dhd but they hve to be 800 by 480 in size.
im using a custom boot animation that i got from some site (cant remember the site though)
ive attached the boot animation tht im using.... its for apple haters

oh
maybe different roms hve different locations or sumthing
im using leedroids rom
otherwise try putting it in
/system/customize/resource
Yeah, that did the trick. Thanks
I need some help as I don't know what file name or file type or location for the shutdown sound I've created. Does anyone know this? I'm guessing it should go in "/system/customize/resource" as this works for replacing the shutdown animation (which is "downanimation.zip")
Does anyone know this?
I'll be sure to post the boot & shutdown animations plus the sounds in the Themes & Apps section once I'm finished... just need this and I'll be done soon.

if we change the jpg will it still work?
Hey guys, I got my Epic on Wednesday and I've been modding nonstop. I was rooted, flashed to SyndicateROM 1.1.0 via CWM, and overclocked to 1.2GHz the first day
One thing I didn't like about the ROM (about the only thing - it's an INCREDIBLE improvement over stock, huge thanks to the developers!) was the boot animation - it didn't match the streamlined look of the ROM, and I wished the boot animation would match the shutdown animation. So I sat down with a couple brews last night and went to work.
I figured this would be a way to "give back" to the community for all of the help and improvements I've received in just a couple of days, even though I've just been lurking. I hope at least a couple of people benefit from my work!
The animation shows the Galaxy "S" come flying in (inverse of the shutdown animation) and "SyndicateROM" and "v. 1.1.0 EXT4" fade in afterwards. Then, the "S" pulses blue until the ROM is loaded.
The preview is attached (I couldn't link an outside link since this is my first post lol...). The .gif animates faster than it actually does on the phone.
Be sure to rename the file to bootanimation.zip, copy to \system\media\, etc etc you all know the drill. Enjoy!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: I had edited the previous version's desc.txt before uploading, and Windows automatically compressed the file when I re-saved it to the archive. This is why it wasn't working. The fixed version is up!
If you're having trouble getting it to work, qbking77 has an instructional video: youtube.com/watch?v=ObdysHi1OIc
It looks good man! Congrats on the Epic
Nice..thanks
Blank screen for me at boot up. Still boots but displays nothing after the Samsung screen.

make sure you Delete the original bootanimation before you copy it into the system/media. If you overwrite the file it can cause issue's.
And thanks, your first post and it's already giving to the community =)
NIce..thanks for the boot animation......
and Ultra where did u get that gif that is sooooo funny
I'm still getting a black screen with no boot animation even after I deleted the original and pasted the new one.
I renamed the zip bootanimation.zip (or is it supposed to be bootanimation.zip.zip?)
Then I moved it into system/media/ using root explorer.
Am I doing something wrong?
EDIT: It's not even that solid black screen. I see "android" in black glossy font.
EDIR: Now I don't even see the "android". HELP!
Deleted old boot animation and copied the new one in. Now I am also getting a blank screen.
I found a different boot animation. That one worked. No worries.

Everyone has been PMed - the issue has been fixed. Thanks for trying my boot animation, everyone!
It looks nice, I like how its similar to the clean look of the epic experience bootscreen.
My only request is that you please remove the 'version' of syndicate rom and leave it clean so that we can use it regardless of the future upgrade. They just came out with 1.1.1 so it just makes sense to make this more universal so we can even use it with the gingerbread bootup.

I really like this animation -- good job! I do agree with sceptor, though. It would be nice if ACS would incorporate this as I really like the cleaner look at startup. Their default animation just seems a bit "much" to me.
I will use it when the version is updated. Love it too.
Couldn't wait, but please update version. Lol.

Could you add a 1.0.2 version? It's the only SFR version that works on my phone!
J/k. I would never ask for that. But if you remove the version I would be interested. I'm running a BIOS boot animation right now. I took warlords and converted it to edify.

yeah get rid of the v. and EXT4 im running the newest update v.1.1.1
Agreed...good work. I prefer this over the "guns and ammo" stock version.
Hello to everyone! I'm new in this forum. I've got a samsung galaxy 5 with cyanogenmod 7.2 and i notice that the fade effect when unlocking the screen (NOT THE TV EFFECT) is disabled in cm 7.2,while it was in cyanogemod 7.1. I posted the same post in madteam forum (search "fade effect on cm 7.2 lockscreen on MadTeam forum because i can't post outside links) but no one know how to do. Anyone can help me? Thanks in advance
Anyone knows how to fix it? Please!
Same problem on the G2/Vision.
Also, before the screen time's out, normallye the brightness smoothes a bit down. This is also gone in CM7.2.
Must be something in the framework-res package i think.
On the other side, we now got the fabulous looking ICS rotate animations!
