stable fast Hero Build - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a Hero rom out there that is stable and fast and does not slow down after you use it for a couple of days?
Also when is someone going to hook it up with a hero build that:
- Doesnt freeze when you open the phone on the main screen
- doesnt loose internal memory as you use the browser
- has BLUETOOTH
If any one can help with these please respond
Thanks

The G1 just doesn't have the ram to run the Sense UI efficiently.

Yeah, youre not really going to find a Hero ROM that you can use as a daily driver without wanting to throw it at a wall at some point.
I've literally tried them all.... Do the same, you might find one to your liking. I might jsut be a 'rom speed' snob lol In the end I sacrificed the fancy UI for my sanity level.

No offense to the OP, but these threads are starting to get really old. It is well documented all over this forum that the dream is just not capable of running the sense ui because of its hardware restrictions. Most of the hero builds here are optimized but expect some lag and as far as i know, the bluetooth fix is a long ways off, if at all. Its impossible to expect the g1 to run a lag free hero when even the hero cant run it lag free!

1. hero doesnt have a keyboard and its hard edit the code to where it would support landscape mode on the homescreen and have the sense UI running
2. are u kidding me. ALL phones lose internal memory when using the browser. it saves your cookies, cache, passwords ect. i am sure that cache can be transfered to sd card but it things stored on phones internal memory runs faster..just clear out ur cache and such once in awhile
3. bluetooth i read its rly difficult to fix.

Have you tried Drizzy superlite build? Ive been using it for a few days and it works pretty well. Its Hero, but uses the usual dream interface so you can bust out the keyboard on the home screen without the phone freaking out which drove me crazy too. Still no bluetooth or led's but whatever.

drizzy stated early yesterday on twitter that champion v2 is stable and was the first hero to be stablized.
(Champion Hero is a stable build"first stable hero" yay!!) from drizzy yesterday on twitter
(Though I am still gunna mark it down for experimental because its a completely new build! But you will see how stable it is!

[Q] Serious Dialer Lag

Ok I am having some serious dialer lag. I am talking up to a minute to actually dialer a number that I have put in or chosen a contact before it actually dials. I am running the 2.1 update and don't know if this was an issue before this update as I just got the phone wihin the last month and downloaded the update right away.
I do use Advanced Task Killer and have killed everything before attempting to make a call but it is still just a laggy. I have also gone in and killed processes that are running like Sprint TV. Still have major lag issues.
Is there a way to fix this? I am getting so frustrated and am about to return the phone to Sprint!
For as cool as the Sense UI is, I don't think it was quite ready for the Hero.
Plus there are bugs that have been talked about quite a bit in the official 2.1 update for the Hero.
Hero + Sense = Dialer lag. Even after rooting and running a (mostly) much cleaner flavor of version 2.1, any rom I installed still had lag in the dialer app.
I finally scrapped Sense altogether and went with a vanilla aosp rom (darchdroid) and the whole device, including the dialer, runs smooth as butter. No lag at all.
Thank you!! I did try and run Drachroid 2.8 but it just kept looping on me so I do have another rom installed at the moment and will wait for a fix for 2.8. Any other Vanilla roms you would recommend?

It's possible that the bootloops happened to you because of the overclocked (OC) kernel in DarchDroid. Some phones cannot boot at overclocked speeds and will just bootloop while trying to load up.
The latest DD 2.8 already comes with an undervolted (UV) kernel, which some phones can boot better than the regular OC kernel, so it may just be that your phone doesn't like OC at all. Lots of phones here are like that.
Try flashing and booting DD2.8 on a FULL battery. You'll have a much better chance booting an OC kernel on a full battery, and while it's plugged into the charger still.
Another good Vanilla ROM I really liked was Ic3Rom, but it is no longer kept up so it's not as current as DD or the 2.2 Cyanogen Froyo ROM.
Good luck!
Try turning off the dialer sound in settings. That fixed the lag for me.
If you try the latest froyo nightly, it should boot, it's capped at 691- which is still overclocked but seems like everyone can boot.

I've been complaining to Sprint about the lag since before 2.1. Last night a Sprint tech said to come here for an "unofficial" way to get my phone running smooth, including rooting it to make it do things that aren't "supported." So after searching around here I see posts about Nandroid, rooting, backing up, restoring, and flashing roms. I've rooting iPod Touches but never a phone. I want to try this while I have hours to kill at work. Forgive the shortcutting but can you:
1. Point me to an updated step by step guide.
2. Point me to an updated recovery image.
3. Point me to an updated ROM that you PRAISE.
4. Pray for me.
Thanks,
Ken

Welcome to XDA! Just as an FYI, many of us here don't take too kindly to this. We have had to put in our time searching and reading -- it's only fair that you should too.
That being said, this thread will tell you how to root and will include a recovery image: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=694572
That's all you get from me Now it's up to you to browse around and find a ROM that you like best. No one here can tell you which one the "best" one is....it's all about personal preferences and tastes. Browse the Development forum and try several ROMs. Also check the Themes and Apps forum for cool extras. You'll soon find what you like.
Good luck, and make sure you do PLENTY of reading here before doing anything to your phone.

Thank you. I'm well on my way. Rooting as I type. I'll check out the Dev threads.
I am running a non OC version of aloyuisus and i am loving it nothing ever lags i don't run task killers. I get great battery life, last me all day with moderate use, if i tether i always make sure its plugged in otherwise its never plugged in until late night. I listen to Audible and mp3s and probably make about 1 - 1.5 hrs worth of calls a day.
no random reboots either,

I had this same problem. Even after rooting and installing fresh 2.3.3 it wasn't much better. I was almost to the point of taking the phone back to sprint when i found Cyanogenmod 6. I started with test 4 which was still pretty buggy but the current nightly that is out is awesome. FroYo is the best thing that has ever happened to my phone. No Lag, EVER.

this is a bug that was never fixed by htc when 2.1 was released and finalized. do a google search, lots of people are having this issue. no fixes for it either as the hero was left behind by htc.

That one statement can't be said enough.
Read, attempt to comprehend, read some more and then do the work.
There are some apps and / or scripts nowadays that will give you "1-click root", but I frown on these to be honest. There's too much "magic stuff" going on behind the scenes that you're not aware of and if an issue pops up, it's harder to backtrack to figure out what went wrong.
1-click root apps are fine, later on down the road when you're comfortable with the process and just want to get it done, but manually running through the steps to root, backup and finally flash a new rom is the best way to go.

Eclair and FroYo ROMs - need recommendations

I'm having some issues with my G1 with 3G and data connectivity in general. I'm not posting to ask for help on fixing that, although I won't object to help, I'm posting to ask for two ROMs for both Eclair and FroYo. I need to discount CyanogenMod since those are the main ones I run and it happens in both to a degree and my troubleshooting will be better if I know it isn't a ROM specific issue.
I'm aware that there are known issues (with no fix) that others have with both Eclair and FroYo releases of CM right now but it seems different and I want to be sure that it isn't my phone. The reason I'm posting to ask for recommendations is that I'm sure a lot of people are aware there are a lot of ROMs floating around that are little besides blatant rips of other people's work. I want to avoid that since it won't help at all and if it is a rip of someone elses work it will give the same results.
i tried like 6 or 7 Froyo releases the last month
for me the best 2 are:
Froyo Redux (CM 6)
SpeedTeam Froyo
in Speedteam: i got a problem with the market. downloading stopped working after a day of use with it. besides that, its really nice and fast!
biffmod it had FC's every 10 seconds with the "ime_input" blabla, fu**ed me off, so i deinstalled. couldn't really test it.
froyo redux: it begins lagging after a while of use, but i used it the most until now! like for a week or so! it reacts fast when getting a call, looks nice (install launcherpro for more speed in launcher/homescreen) menu's go really fast and it loads really fast too! For me the best Froyo by now!
chromatic : the style was to dark
SuperFast/stupid Fast: after install i had many FC's -> Deinstalled
Super-F : works fine the most but has problems with some files and cant play mp3 files !! WTF ??
Hope i could help u a little

Try: Htcclay Superfly d/s v1.1 - Froyo 2.2
http://androidspin.com/2010/08/07/rom-htcclay-superfly-tcby-v1-1-for-dream-g1/
Absolutely love this one. Market slow on this one but that seems to be on all of the 2.2's.
Thanks for the replies I've given Chromatic a try while I waited for replies and it seems to be the most reliable for 3G that I'd tried to that point. I switched out to Cannon's Eclair as well and that seemed to be good too. Chromatic seemed a little sluggish but no more than other FroYo ROMs. The main sluggish thing that I can't stand is text entry using the virtual keyboard. That seems to be a constant across all FroYo ROMs so far.
tranceonline, you saved me a lot of flashing with that summary so yes you did help I'm going to have a look at FroYo Redux in a little while.
crz6662, testing out the one you recommended now and it seems about the same as most FroYo ROMs, do you notice any stuttering when using the virtual keyboard? It seems to be a bit on / off like it will work for the first letter or two, freeze while you're pressing keys and then a second later you'll see all the keys appear. I can't stand it >_< I don't know if it's the ROMs, the keyboard IME or a combination of both.

Can't say I've noticed but I usually use the keyboard anyway since it's a bit faster for me. You could download couple of the other on screen keyboards out there and see if it's the same.Try this one: attached Handcent. If it works on Froyo. Noticed a screen flicker on CM 6.0.0 though. Might just be my phone.?
I've learned a couple of things today, playing again.
Main reason I rooted/flashed was for apps2sd. Don't put upfront tasks, ie: Homescreen launchers, on-going service apps, mail, messaging, etc. on the SD, leave them on internal memory.
I was putting everything on the SD and it took forever to reload home screen coming out of an app and returning home. Don't ask about rebooting. It took forever to load the widgets and get up and running. Got to thinking about the slower speed of the SD versus the phone. So after installing approx 150 apps I said screw it, wiped everything, and reformatted the card.
Dropped swap to 32MB, ext2 512, & fat32.
Now I'm being careful what gets put to the card. Homescreen now boots and loads much better from the phone. Was reading about partitioning and in some cases larger swap slows up the phone considerably so they say. Why the 1 ROM I did suggested 96MB for swap is beyond me. Just don't run a "bunch" of apps at the same time and you won't need much swap. Some have suggested eliminating it altogether. Don't know bout that.
Much snappier performance now. Boots up fast and 3G is no problem.
Might hold off loading apps and try that Froyo Redux 1st. Haven't seen that one.
Later. Learn by doing

General question about Froyo 2.2 on 32B

First, I apologize if this is an issue that has already been discussed; however, I did look through the stickied threads and didn't find anything that really answered the question I have.
I have tried several different Froyo 2.2 ROMs on my Dream, and they always seem to run a fraction of the speed of Donut ROMs. Loading the home screen, applications, and webpages always seems to take a lot longer, and there just isn't that quickness that Donut has.
Am I doing something wrong? Anyone else have the same experiences?
I actually have to stick with this fact. Also i did notice that the rom i tried "passing through" the process of moving on from Android 1.6 to Android 2.2.1 (was JF if i recall) was kinda faster then the Biff mod i have on my G1 now.
But i don't think that it is anything wrong about it, i think that frankly the g1 start to be an obsolete piece of hardware.
Maybe i am wrong but just so that you know i tried to download "Angry Birds Lite" and start it...well it's kinda a shame as it stutters terribly. Is it a matter of ROM MOD or just that the G1 isn't a young quicky fella anymore ?
The hardware is outdated .
It's just interesting then how so many people appear to be running these Froyo 2.2 builds. Do they not realize how sluggish they have made their phones?
Why shouldn't we M!x. Me, on my hand, i have a G1 blocked by my phoning company and sold me an 1.1 Android HTC Dream...so awful...i couldn't even use my camera as a video recorder (and they didn't release not 1, not only 1 update!)
And as long as i am flashing and modifying everything i don't find why shouldn't i update my phone to the latest version of this wonderful OS.

Why shouldn't you? Because it's slow? Have you tested Android 1.6 vs Android 2.2? You don't notice the significant slowdown? Taking 5 seconds to bring up the dialpad?
ok wait wait wait...
Oh well...i dont know if u intend that literally takes 5 seconds...but with the Biff mod it's not THAT slow...
i only joined up in the topic cos i found the phone slow in some occasions but not that it jeopardize the overall use.

i guess your the two among the fews who didnt get their phones up and running froyo fluently.
checkout the OTA and after that the more bareboners/tweaked roms, read through the corresponding forums, and try to admit that you have to abandon having fancy stuff on yer phone.
as for me im right now running the OTA the one available here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811620
with cpu set 122-614mhz, using modified radio hack to gain +14mb of ram and modified lowmemorykiller values.
ive been running the system since weeks with no hangups, and is snappy az should be.
done these not with with third party apps but adding an initscript that sets these values at boot time WITHOUT needing running yetanother app running.
i dont even have to use compcache.
must mention that i use ADW home manager with only 2 desktops, no dockbar and so, minimized fancy in order to keep its memory consumption low, using only the calendar widget and Quick Settings in notification bar.
i have even found out recently that switching on the animations lets you feel your phone more snappy since it takes your attention while loading or switching between views/screensD
[it does work indeed!]
so snappy and stable that i am afraid of trying new so said tweaked roms like:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825716&page=48
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=929678
i guess more and more G1 users/developers are trying to strip down and tweak froyo to get the max out it since this may be the last stable rom available for our devices.
and no, i dont think that our devices are outdated, definitely not for normal day use.
so keep up finding the best way for yours!
cheers

You make these claims without telling what roms you've tried.
Have you tried this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811620 ??? Because this one *IS FAST*. At least it is when combined with the 2708 memory hack.
I'll surely give it a shot, thank you guys
Thanks for the information guys, I will certainly try these ROMs. I have, by the way, tried standard builds of Froyo, CM6, SuperF, with disappointing results. They worked "OK," but had a fraction of the performance of Donut.
You guys can try my Froyo rom. Only complaints I get is about the Bloatware, lol. No drag, almost like a donut rom in speed. I have over 3000 downloads. The link is on my signature or on the G1 development section. Let me know what you think!

[Q] Looking for a good 6.5.x ROM (manila, stable, fast)

First of all, my google-fu is very weak. Furthermore, the forum search engine apparently hates me, so please don't say anything about research or searching. I've tried and failed spectacularly. Also, I'm something of a newbie, so please be merciful. Thank you.
My old ROM is starting to act up, so I'm looking for a fast and stable Windows Mobile 6.5.x ROM with TouchFlo3D. Other things I can't live without are the long-press End and Call keys and the long-press Power key drop-down menu (like in the Touch X ROMs by smaberg), but if those can be installed afterwards without messing the ROM up, they're not required in the ROM itself.
Also, I never use the Xperia Panels (always delete all the Panel stuff and re-bind the X-Panel key to Nitrogen ), so not having the Panel Manager would be a plus.
I have previously used mainly the Touch X ROMs (I'm a huge fan), but they're not available in 6.5, so I'm willing to experiment with some 6.5 in order to (hopefully) find a new favorite. My current ROM is the Touch X 10.9.1 Nuts, that's the kind of speed and reliability I'm used to.
What I mainly use my Xperia for:
Calling and texting, naturally (VITO SMS-Chat)
Getting up in the morning (ageye G-Alarm)
Music (Nitrogen)
Internet (Opera Mobile 10)
GPS (Google Maps)
Notes (OneNote Mobile)
Movies (Media Player)
I'm going to install all of those by myself, so don't worry about them.
Thanks in advance for any help, guys!
Dynamics 2.0 should satisfy your needs. It's the most stable rom on this forum, at least in my testing.

totally agree, so far Dynamics 2.0 is the best choice.
Dynamics 2.0 seems to have TF3D all right and I can do the long-press keys by myself. I'll surely try Dynamics out.
EDIT: Found the drop-down menu thingy, it's smaberg's Actionscreen.
try one of energy's roms. they are very fast and stable, with a host of customizations.
Whoa, the Energy ROMs seem real nice, thanks for pointing them out! They might take a bit of getting used to, but in the end I think they might be worth it.
Also, while Dynamics 2.0 is probably the stablest of the two (having less modification done and all), which one is the faster one? Anyone have any experience or insight?

frankly speaking Dynamics seems like a rather new ROM (post Jan 2011) and since i 'decommissioned my X1 in Dec as a secondary phone to my Milestone 2, i havent gotten around trying it. however, from my experience of using many other ROMs, i personally found energy's ROMs to be really FAST and STABLE. it shouldnt take much getting used to as its based on the HTC HD2 (with the latest HTC sense).
if you are looking for raw speed, then go for the most basic version with the least applications. i think it should be labeled as sense 2018. however if you wanna save yourself the time from installing programs from nitrogen to opera, go for his sense 2019. and since he has skinned many variants, you can choose the design you like best.
hope it helps. if u really do want, i can try find some time over the weekend to flash the Dynamics ROM and let you know how it is. do let me know anyway.

you can also check this out. ROMs which do not have TouchFlo or HTC Sense tend to be comparatively faster. though i havent personally tried pure, i heard some pretty good remarks on it.
my advice, if u can, try them both out. Pure and Energy, with and without Sense, and see which suits your personal needs the best.
hope i am helping instead of confusing you. if you need any clarification, do ask.

so sorry for the late reply. just got up from my nightly slumber...lol. anyways, glad to hear im not confusing. i tend to mix up my words sometimes.
oh ryt, i have never gotten any errors while flashing any ROMs but its good u got over it. anyhow, i do hope it is fast enough and stable enough for ur liking. as i said in my opinion of flashing many ROMs i found this the best, and hence the reason why i recommended it to u
do keep me posted on how ur finding it
EDIT: im sorry but i think i might have given you the wrong link for the PURE ROM. its actually Russel's Eclair I was on about. there arent many screenshots on it, but if you do read on you'll know that it is a very minimalistic ROM, which runs on WM6.1/6.5 without sense. and its been skinned like a stock ROM. the beta version i flashed in november was superb. you could give it a try as well.

Well, I'm having slight problems with how complicated the Energy ROM UI is, as well as numerous dead shortcuts and programs failing to start. Also, HTC Sense 2.5 is noticeably slower than TouchFlo3D (which my previous ROM used), so everything doesn't glide as smooth. So I'm not a huge fan, at least not yet. If I can't get this to work like I want, I'll try flashing a different Energy ROM. If that doesn't work, Dynamics 2.0. If that doesn't work... I don't know... Touch X 10.10?

and yes, it might be a little complicated initially, but the more u mess around with your phone, the more you'll learn. as for dead shortcuts and non start ups, check through the thread to see if anybody has the same problems as you. if they do it might be a bug (and the cook might either be working on a fix, or there might already be one).
as i said earlier i havent tried dynamics as its a relatively new ROM. but touch X is considerably slower than energy in opinion, with very regular crashes. in my opinion, using everything from rotastrains to energy, this is by far the best ROM with Sense out there when i tested.
EDIT: if others have not reported the same problem as you, try a hard reset. if that doesnt solve it, ask the cook for advice by posting on the thread. you are sure to get a solution within 24 hours. im sure its just something simple to tweak around
I'm using the Dinik's Anastasia. Some things are infinitely faster than in Touch X, such as opening menus and starting/closing most programs, but others are a crawl, such as switching between the pages of the home screen and opening the start menu. So it's good, but not perfect. So Energy is about as good as Touch X was, although better looking, which the ease-of-use of the Touch X-series compensates for. Although to be honest I'm yet to fully get the hold on Energy, so it might be this grows to be my favorite ROM later on.
I resolved the dead shortcuts. They were actually links to HTC Sense tabs which I had disabled, so the shortcuts just pointed me to the Sense home screen. I'm probably going to hunt down and delete all those shortcuts, because the whole concept of them appears pretty stupid to me. Why have links in the start menu for things that are already displayed as tabs in the normal UI? It's infinitely slower to get to them via start menu...
Anyhow, I'll continue playing around with the ROM. I'm starting to like it...

well there is no such thing as a perfect custom ROM. all ROMs are plagued with bugs. the reason i recommended Energy in the first place, was because it crashes the least. u wouldnt need to soft reset your phone very much. also it starts up fast, and has amazingly good battery life for what it offers.
im glad to hear u managed to resolve the dead shortcuts. to be frank they didnt really bother me, as on the whole the user experience was what that mattered. and since most functions are accessible via the touch flo interface, you hardly ever need to use the start panel (if the speed bothers you)
Well, I've now set it up almost just like I want, some minor tweaks left, but good enough for now. I'm starting to notice that it is, in fact, faster than Touch X almost in every regard. The stability is slightly worse, but it's not like Energy is prone to crashes. It's still slightly more stable than the ROM the phone came with!
I deleted the whole HTC folder from the start menu and all the useless shortcuts are now gone!
I've still got some games and rarely used programs to install, but they're not important, so I'll do them when I have some extra time.

thats good to hear, though i wouldnt entirely agree on you on the stability front. but its a subjective topic. anyway, enjoy the new ROM, and if u do need any help or advice there's a whole dedicated community here at ur disposal.
cheers
I tried to answer you four times, but each time I got the maintenance/overcapacity "Thank you for your understanding." -message when clicking Post and the forum ate my message.
For me Touch X often crashed when under strain (buffer overflow?) and not otherwise, but Energy crashes at random (when not in use, when opening the virtual keyboard) while not having the same issues Touch X has. So they're equally stabile, just in different ways.
EDIT: Just after posting this, the phone froze when it was charging and the screen was off... -.-
Sorry for double-posting, but this is an update, so I hope it's okay.
I'ma whine a bit. While the Energy ROM initially looked awesome, I'm starting to get sick of all the SODs and freezes it has at least three times a day! Touch X froze or crashed on me that many times a week and never had a single SOD.
Tomorrow or the day after I'll try flashing other versions. If that doesn't work, I'll try Dynamics 2.0.
Also, keep suggesting ROMs!

its quite odd that you have so many crash issues with Energy's ROM. I never had any of those issues u mentioned. Perhaps cuz mine is an older, more stable build. anyways, there is an older ROM by Rotastrain. its called blaze & devilution. brilliant eye candy. however the developer no longer develops for the device anymore, so dont expect any updates or bug fixes. give it a try. its not as fast as Energy's but i do hope it will sort out the crashing issue.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=565055&highlight=blaze
I'm really fond of my current Energy ROM, but it keeps me on my toes all the time because I'm neurotically checking my phone every 15 minutes in case it has another SOD and I don't want to miss any calls because of that. Also, I'm now using another alarm clock besides the phone, because Energy has already SOD'd on me twice during the morning hours before the alarm and I don't want to be late for work.
So, I'll try every single Energy version, variation (well, all the good-looking ones... ) and build until I find one that doesn't have all the SODs and freezes. If all of them have, it's Dynamics 2.0 or Blaze or another ROM up next.

[Q] Galaxy ace s5730 noob about what os to get and why.

Hey all.
Probably being asked before if so sorry but im very specific with what im after. I have a galaxy ace s5830 unlocked with talk mobile. Still got 3 quaters of a year contract and was wondering a few things.
Im getting a little bored of gingerbread 2.3.3 which is what my phone currently uses and even tho there should be a 2.3.4 or 2.3.6 or 2.3.7 i cant use the auto update thing as for some reason its not on my carrier yet. I could get 2.3.6 using a guide and stuff but if im going to all the trouble of wiping the phone cos of that i might as well give rooting a go and try a os like cynagen or whatever its called etc. I thought.
Good idea or just stick to what works? Whatever i get if i get it needs to be solid and stable and suitable for everyday life and every day usage.
If its a good idea then some questions on how to go.
1. What would be the most stable and most popular ones to consider, ive had a look but theres so many and im so lost. Something on jellybean maybe i dunno would be nice.
2. Camera wifi and usb connecting to pc for file transfer is a must that must work and work well with hopeful updates for the camera i.e faster way to launch it and touch to focus would be sweet as i dont think i have that on my current 2.3.3 gb. Also video for camera must work great too and keep the updated res that 2.3.3 came with i think or better if thats even possible.
3. Battery life would be nice to improve but tbh i dont have that much of a issue with battery life only thing is is when wifi is on it drains a bit quicker but generally it auto turns off when it goes off in to standby/sleep mode.
4. Able to install stuff ok.
5. Has gps and google voice things and search.
6. Touchwiz i think is what i use and might like to keep that i dunno what all the different ones are or if i like em so shrugs here as to what i want really but im used to touchwiz so..
7. I have backed up my contacts to sim and stuff and on pc and all media like pics and vids so i think im ok to do a rooting and new os unless ive missed somit.
I like the flashing on and off thing of cynogen mod i think its from is that only on that or others? I like that circle that rotates when you touch focus thing i saw in some vid for one of the os mods and turns green when in focus that would be nice to have i think.
Somit thats quick to navigate i.e swiping panels with icons on on the main screens would be cool especially with widgets like news and clock and things on my current 2.3.3 it can be a little slugish but in general is fine, im hoping somit new would make it smooth and very fast regardless of what widgets are on tbh.
I like a nice digital clock thats clean and stuff and shows date time and month etc but in a simple way. I use a sense analogue clock thing i think atm that i found which is nice. But well we will see what the os i get recommended has.
So yeah erm i think thats all i wanted to ask.
So yeah what should i be looking at in particular and maybe if i maybe so bold as to write a little description of what the recommendations are like and whats maybe not working for such ones.
So what new os should i look at and version for a s5830.
Thank you so much.

all roms ave their advantages and disadvantages, android phones only run on android, not a different os, cyanogenmod is android. from my experience i would say cyanogenmod10.1 would be the best for you, only problem with that is, ums doesnt work, but u can use clockworkmod recovery for that(it has the mount usb storage option), clockwork mod has to be installed before u flash any rom. i recomend you try out a few roms you like, and choose from there, and read comments. (IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO FLASH A ROM, DONT TRY RANDOM STUFF, FOLLOW SOME TUTORIALS AND STUFF FIRST)
