I have a Qtek9090 with ROM 1.40, radio 1.13
When I try to format my ROM to 128M wit the DOC_Repart tool I got the message FL_IOCTL_FORMAT_PHYSICAL_DRIVE failed, even I can see create and delete into the ExtendRom.
I have tried to install some ship ROM but it doesn't solve my issue.
A friend who get the same Qtek as me doesn't had any trouble when upgrading to WM5. I have sent my Qtek to be repaired a few month ago, could it be modified by Qtek ? Does somebody else get the same issue than me ?
upz
i got the same problem too !!!
stuck with the issue
and using 2005 with less mem
Hi,
got the same error. *duh*
The phone was also sent to qtek for reparation.
Got it working now.
I´ve made a hardreset to install the normal ext_rom.
After that i installed xda-developers_unlocker.cab from wm5_pack_v3 and then resco fileexplorer.
Cause of the german naming of programme (not programs) i couldn´t use the links in startmenu to execute the unlocker.
I used the execute-function in resco fileexplorer to execute the following commands:
\programme\extendedromunlocker\unlockextrom -unlock -xda3 and
\programme\extendedromunlocker\unlockextrom -unhide
Then: soft-reset.
After that i copied the Repart_doc.exe from wm5_pack_v3.
This time it worked without any errors.
this is veri interesting news, i will try again in a min
ehheheh
the using resco to run is one different thing i did not do
so sad, give me hope
hehehe
i just tried this n it did not work also

thats it!! Im trying to format the extrom of my T-Mobile MDAIII for days now, but this is the solution! u need the tool mentioned here, the extendedromunlocker in EXACTLY this version with the "-xda3" switch ! Any other version of the tool will not work. Dont ask me why, but ive tried them all and ONLY THIS works! a huge thanks triplehelix.
i will attach the .cab for anyone who wasted hours to solve this damn problem!
greets
//edit: sorry for pushing this really old thread, but anyway, i think this will help anyone wo was as desperate as me.
dunno if this helps but, back in my Hima days, the "FL_IOCTL_FORMAT_PHYSICAL_DRIVE" error is due to the extended ROM not unlock & unhide.
you have to run the unlock & unhide procedure to avoid the FL_IOCTL_FORMAT_PHYSICAL_DRIVE error.
really thanks, i have the same problem and with other unlockers can't work, Repart_doc.exe anytime give me this error, next time i format my pda want try this to format my extrom
Still an't working for my XdaIIs....
Can you attach the 'Repart_doc.exe' file...
I can't get my device formated....

its located here: ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/BA_WM5/Tools/Repart_DOC.exe
have you tried to unhide and then unlock with the "-xda3" switch ?
i use SOTI PocketController to remote control my device. it has a "command line" interface included. here you can type dos style commands. execute the unlocker, inclusive -unlock and -xda3 switch.
for example: \programme\extendedromunlocker\unlockextrom.exe -unlock -xda3
this is the most important line.
this time for me work very well, but have reflashed to italian W2K3 Swisscom 1.40, on this rom Program Files are named Programmi like in any other italian rom, just copied (with resco explorer) the entire folder from "programmi" to a new folder created by myself under device root named "program files" and without any change to original link in windows/start menu/extrom tools are not needed
for me work on first try with this method, and now have missing megabytes of valuable space
all files needed are picked from this thread (except for rom and resco explorer)
still not working
I've tried all the method above... but still not working... I've tried a lot of roms but still... any other sugestions?
Hi guys
I tried everything but I just can't get extended rom to be formated.
Maybe someone as a better idea to solve the problem
Greetings Kapiza
Hi,
I have used the WM5 TuMa-Version a long time, and ist works well.
Since a few days I try to install the Helme 1.3.2 Version, but I want to go the recommended way with using the 60MB Rom. So I downgrade the BA to WM2003 (T-Mobile germany edition), have installed the extrom cabs and try to execute "unhide" -but it doesn't work.
So I have executed the "xda-developer-unlocker.cab" (version 1.6) to unlock the BA (I hope so) to install programs like these. But the result is the same -I can install the progs, but if I try to execute the "unhide" I gt the error message "unlockextrom or some of it components cannot be found...."
I want to enlarge the rom to 60MB like recommended -but how can I do it?
Do I something wrong?
regards
Groby
Think ist due to the german, The program is looking for itsel under program files and not 3hat ever the german is for that.
With resco explorer edit the short cut.
Hi!
thx for the fast reply. The easiest things are oft the best.
I don't have resco explorer, so I copied the folder via active sync from the german "Programme"-folder to a new folder "program files", and it works well.

Hi there,...
what exactly does the application lock do???
steve
ok, found some infos...
Most WM5 phones only allow you to load applications that have an acceptable digital signature. If you try to edit the registry or load an application it will give you an error. Application Unlocking removes this barrier and allows you to install any application or edit the registry to your liking.

but this is not really significant ....
the MTeoR has an application lock!! but what limitations did you expect with it??
the only one i have found is while trying various of programms that on -> TinyGPS didn't worked ... ends with the message that the phone has application locked... after unlocking the MTeoR the program starts... (but hangs on license screen but i think thats a general problem with qvga and wm5-sp)
anyother troubles with the app-lock ???
I'm didn't have any troubles with application lock in MTeoR
I'm use complex method to remove this lock
In RegEditSTG: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 = 2
->from 2 to 1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005 = 16
-> from 16 to 40
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001017 = 128
-> from 128 to 144
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Security\Policies\Policies
-> create new "0000101b" (type Dword) = 1
<reset>
And as last i'm use SDA Application Unlock
May be some of this steps are unnecessary but it is work!
And other way to run exe without sign from MSP - create sign!
Read more about CodeSigningX86 from Microsoft. It works great, i'm use my sign for rather programs (because i didn't use app unlock in WM5 Emu for my PC)
Hi!
I've installed PHM RegEdit on my MTeor, but i can't change any values It always gives me a failure 'Unable to perform this operation'. I'm a noob in tweaking regs oder ppc/smartphones, so someone could help me, please? Until now I used a BlueAngel. A very good device, but to big for daily use, so I bought this MTeor. Now I've got the application problem. But why I can't change values in the registry?
@futureshock: Evtl. kannst Du mir auch über's ICQ helfen?
Ok, i made it. I found this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1038508&postcount=2
Hello,
Yesterday I get my repaired HTC TyTN II mobile phone (not branded). Now I found WM6.1 on it. Because of the Hardwarereset I need to do a new cab file installation of some needed programs.
At the moment I was able to install some bought software and also to add our Exchange 2007 Server (self-made certificate by our ActiveDirecty Certificate Authority).
Some other bought software and of course all freeware cab files aren't possible to install. I get allways the error message: "Die Installation ist fehlgeschlagen. Das Programm oder die Einstellung konnte nicht installiert werden, da es/sie nicht digital mit einem vertrauenswürdigen Sicherheitszertifikat signiert ist."
Sorry for the german error message. It means, that the cab file has no digital certificate or a digital certificate from a non trustworthy CA. It isn't possible to accept this message and install the software as it was possible by WM6.0.
I read in the forum and of course a lot of other help websites on the web about certificates. Also how to put a new certificate on cab files.
So I got from our CA a personal code signature and gave those files a new digital certificate, but that didn't work. I get the same message - the cab files have a good certificate (file property under Windows Vista showes that). Our root certificate is installed on the mobile phone => Exchange Sync works.
What can I do, that I'm able to install all cab files? Why is my own certification not trustworthy? The root certificate is correctly installed on the device => Exchange Sync works.
Hopefully someone is able to help me.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think 2 things got mixed up here.
Windows Mobile requires CABs to be digitally signed by the makers of the program in order to install it. If it hasn't been done, WM will ask you if you woudl still like to install it, even if it's not digitally signed.
Exchange requires the Root certificate from the Exchange server to be installed via CAB to ensure a secure connection, identity check,... No certificate, no exchange.
=> regular CAB installations: I remember someone asking the same question some time ago, but I can't find his post. I attached a screenshot of the bubble I get. Is yours the same (ignoring the language differences)? Or are you getting another type of notification bubble or popup? Really no continue anyway option (that would really s*ck...)
Try disabeling it by using Kaisertweak (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333898). Check under 'security' and look there for disabling the warning. Soft reset after disabling it.
=> Exchange: As I said, it needs the server's Root cert to install. But I guess there were no problems here...
Good luck
@Dr. Strangelove: Thank you for your answer.

No not really. I tried to authorize the files, that have no certification. The root certificate of the used code signature is the same which is used for the Exchange Server synchronisation.
The root certificate was installed directly with a *.cer file (no CAB File).

That was the message I found with WM6.0. Now I get an different message. If the CAB file has a wrong or no digital certificate, then no installation...
...really no continue option.
I think I tried already Kaisertweak. There was a simular message. I'm not able to run it. I am not certain, therefore I will try it again.
However I don't want to deactive the warning. I want only to install or run even there is a warning.
[edit]Ok, I tried it again. The same error message: "Die Datei 'KaiserTweak' kann nicht geöffnet werden. Sie ist nicht mit einem vertrauenswürdigen Sicherheitszertifikat signiert."
In english it means, that the KaiserTweak.exe file has no certificate and it isn't possible to run it.
[/edit]
Optional it should be possible to authorize the file with an own certificate and install that. Then there should be no reason to change the new WM6.1 feature....

Get with your exchange server admin, they have your security policy locked down on your device. When you sync with the server it pulls your user rights from the server, if you dont have the correct permissions then it will limit your ability to do certain things on your device.

Thank you for your answer. I forgot, that Exchange 2007 SP1 has more security policies for WM6.1.
Now I'm able to run all kind of installation.
Hi Guys and Girls
I saw the new opera mini beta 5 and I was wondering if anyone knows how to get this version for android handsets if their is one? I noticed you can download it for Java enabled phones if that helps??
Thanks!
1. Download this: http://www.2shared.com/file/7884694/6f2c5cb0/java.html
2. Install Jbed.apk and push libjbedvm.so to /system/lib and reboot your phone (don't do that point if you already have Java installed in your rom).
3. Launch Java app. Press "menu" button and choose "sdcard". Wait a while and choose Opera Mini to install.
4. Now if you want to launch Opera mini, open Java app first and choose the location where Opera Mini is installed.(e.g. sdcard folder at the top)
nice guide... shd be a sticky!

Perfect man. Killed it!! Worked like a charm and Opera 5 is soooooo much nicer then the other Opera's. Trust me. I recommend everyone try this out at least. o one thing. I recommend after installing java to get Opera from internet. You can do this by going to java, then press menu and choose internet, it will bring up your browser, type this in manually "http://www.opera.com/mini/next/download/"(without quotes), then find the link thats says "m.opera.com/next". Then it will download and ask to install and fallow the steps from there. SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol fosho.

Are you seeing the awful laggy kinetic scrolling too?
Or maybe it is just the ROM I'm using...
I'd be happy if there was a way to turn that off... the scrolling from the native 4.2 Opera Mini would be fine...
HELP!!! How do you install Jbed.apk and push libjbedvm.so to /system/lib
You actually only have to type m.opera.com/next then click the link, not the big long address. Just sayin.
Wonderful, thanks. Works like a charm
HELP!

@ All others:
How can I fix the error: "com.esmertec.android.jbed"?
I'm using Cyanogen v.4.2.13
Same Problem here, I use the Super D 1.6. but I think one of the WesGarnerBuild has includes the JavaBox, but I cant remember in wich build. Sorry for my Bad English....
I am having a problem while installing it!
While it is saying Installing, it goes black and shows me
PHP:
Resource download failed
java.io.IOException
Any idea?

when i did this i just pushed the lib to lib, and apk to system/ak using sufbs then installed the apk. opera runs from the sd card via jbed.
I caught just a brief glimpse of how you do it from your post. Sorry about that, could you maybe post from beginning to end with detailed steps as I'm just a noon. Its greatly appreciated sorry for the misconfusion but I'm very eager to get opera 5 on my device, thanks!!

Try this
First copy libjbedvm.so to the sdcard.
Plug-in your phone with the usb cable
Open a windows ms-prompt and go to the android sdk tools folder
Code:
adb remount
adb push /sdcard/libjbedvm.so /system/lib
adb reboot
