ok, i've tried a fair few but only 'open home' so far can offer transparent labels/text for both icons & folders.
anyone know of any others that do this? i just want text-free home screens.
many thanks.
apes
should have said, need 7 screens & customisable folder icons.
cyanogenmod roms can add shortcuts with no text to home, but the launcher with all apps will show text. I dont know any with such a function
If you want a nice launcher try zune home, i love it.
ps edit posts, dont double post.
adw + folder organiser combined manages it.
ok re double post, almost as bad as a post that adds no value.

One of the biggest drawbacks to installing new themes is that my preferred desktop has to be rebuilt each time. It feels like I'm starting at square one.
Is there some easy way to retain the icon & widget layout I'm happy with when applying a new theme?

I am not sure if you are talking about the Homescreen... But regardless of your issue, it may be of some help to the community if you tell us what device you own, what rom you are using, and any other mods/tricks you've used. That would help us help you in the best manner possible. Anyways, are you using a custom launcher? I personally use Apex Launcher PRO, and when I apply themes, nothing happens to the desktop; everything remains in their location.
Does your issue occur with all theme's or just a certain theme? Have you tried applying a different rom? Restarting?
You're right, I should have included that information. I'm using an MZ604, Team EOS Stable Release 2 ROM.
The problem I have is with the home screen layout. I have my icons set up just the way I want them but if I use any other launcher app I have to redo my whole layout. I was wondering if there's a way to keep my custom homescreen icon setup when I change launchers. It would be a real time saver for evaluation purposes, but I suppose the launcher dev wants you to see a specific home screen layout to highlight their design at startup.

I am not sure if you can retain the locations of icons between launchers, only because all of them are different in many ways. However, you can try another launcher and make it the default launcher. Since you are evaluating, only keep a couple icons in custom locations. Then you can try applying different themes and seeing if that resets your homescreens. If it doesn't reset, it should be safe to replicate your original homescreens in the new launcher. For Apex Launcher (and I believe Nova Launcher), there is also an option to back up the layout of your homescreens to the xoom's internal storage.
Hope that helps...
Thanks, yosterwp. Yes, that's very helpful.

Sorry for the noob question, but as I bought the Galaxy Gear now, I'm still learning about how to customize it and some questions arise normally. I hope the more experienced have patience and understanding to help.
Before using the Null 23, when there was only the Touchwiz, my main screen was a watch that I could choose as analog or digital. If I really wanted to use some function in the Galaxy Gear, enough that I slid a finger at one side and appeared instrument functions. After putting Null 23, the appearance on the handset screen was the same as a normal smartphone (which is great) but I can not leave the main screen with a picture of a clock (analog or digital) as I could when I was only with the original TouchWiz, as I said above.
How can I use the Null 23 and still leave a clock on the main screen as before that only had the TouchWiz?
I thank you all the help you can give me answering my questions here in this topic .
Thank you,
Marcelo .
You can find your watch faces under widgets, add them as you would add a widget on your phone. Make sure to use a 5x5 grid on your launchers, otherwise the watch faces wont fit on the screen (I'm using apex launcher). If you cannot find them on the application drawer, touch and hold anywhere on a screen and select widgets from the sub menu, then just simply add them to any screen.

First, thanks for the quick feedback ... I had imagined such a solution is even tried this last night doing this, but it was not perfect because I used other numbers in the grid. I'll do as you taught and come back here to tell if it worked.
Thanks again for everything ...
I have a (rooted) P7-L10 running the latest update (2.3). I am unable to enable lockscreen widgets through Settings: Security as there is no such option available. Consequently, I am unable to install any lockscreen widgets. In fact, the only lockscreen option is the Huawei Unlock with no additional lockscreen pages, and no '+' sign to add any widgets, etc.
Any help to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated as I am extremely interested in using DashClock (especially with DashNotifier).
Thank you in advance for any guidance.

I just checked and when the option should appear if the "Huawei Unlock" method is used. The option doesn't appear if you use something else (at least not on my phone).
Where does the option to enable lockscreen widgets appear for you when Huawei Unlock is selected? I have it enabled as well, and cannot find te option anywhere.

just under, in the "security" panel. I wish I could post pictures but I ****ed up by deleting the systemui.apk and I'm waiting for someone to upload his so I could fix my phone.
Thank you for your replies. I guess it is just somehow missing from my system as there is no such option in the security panel no matter what unlocking option I choose.
If you or anyone else knows how I can get the option back, it would be greatly appreciated.

Use an other theme. For exemple, I use paper rhyme and I have this option. But you can't have widget as default, you have to switch everytime on lockscreen :/
It is probably caused by Nova Launcher which I am really like and do not want to give up.
Any way, I have moved on to Plan B, and installed KK Locker, which is working out really well.
Thank you both for trying to help...

I am using Nova Launcher and Widgets in the lock screen are working. Are you using the right procedure? After enabling in the Setting > Security > thick, in home screen swipe DOWN until you see a padlock icon at the bottom THEN swipe to left or right and you can add the Widget!
That's the whole problem Sergiopi; there is no 'Enable Lockscreen WIdgets" option in my Security settings panel for me to check.
I get the exact lock sign you mentioned in my main lockscreen only after I install and use KK Locker. Otherwise, no widget option and no lock upon swipe down.
Thank you!

Thank you Nomaro; that was it. The stupid 'Balance' theme disables lockscreen widgets and forces its own "Magazine Lock' on the lockscreen. I changed the theme as you suggested, and voila! the option to enable widgets showed up.
Thank all those who tried to help.
glad you got it working!
now a little question about widgets:
can one of you tell me how to remove the main widget (the clock) or use another widget as the "main page" for the lock screen? I can't find anything working on the internet as everything I found just tells we to "click" it and delete it by swiping up like for a widget on the home screen, except it doesn't work.
help please ^^
I had/have the same problem. I figured out that I need to change theme of lockscreen, but no widgets seem to be working, anyways, only those of system apps.
Does anyone know if it is possible to change the home button icon, i.e rather than a picture of a little house, have say a car, or writing like "Xperia", or anything else?
Also, is it possible to just change the app icons, rather than having a launcher to change the whole home screen like Nova Launcher. I like the way I have arranged my apps and widgets etc, and I use my own pictures for backgrounds, I would just like to use different icons for the apps?
Thanks - I am new to the forum so apologies - I am not a developer, have not rooted my phone and don't know what to do with apk ?

O.K, let's simplify this...
Root device and install xposed framework.
Install Xperia xposed module and you'll be able to change home button/icon.
Install Unicon, xposed module to change apps icons.
Download themes from market (for ADW launcher) and use those themes icons.
- You'll get it once you open unicon -
There are other ways to change app icons and home button, decompiling apk and change ongs (assets) in xxhdpi folder but without root there's no chance to do that...
And yeah...you are in wrong section buddy..
Use Q&A for this types if threads.
You can change the home/back etc. buttons by changing your xperia specific theme in the appearance section in your settings. I personally have applied an Android L theme and have the official 5.0 square, triangle and circle.
As for the icons, I don't think so, unless you're willing to install a custom launcher. I recommend nova, you can categorize your apps just as efficiently if not more with the Prime version.
This is the way to go if you don't want to root your device as the upper poster suggested.
The best way is changing theme apperance.
There's an app on the Play Store called Softkeyz which dies exactly that.

"unicon" app (xposed module) can change app icons in xperia home launcher. download any icon pack and apply it
``
you can change it by rooting your phone , and xposed installed . then you use module 'xStana'{Recommended} or 'XPERIA/AOSP NavBar Button' for the softkey , you can change what you like .
