MSN Live and contacts

is there a way of deleting all my msn contacts from the whole contacts system
takes forever to find any one thanks to msn live sync all the contacts into me htc contact

you should have de-selected the option "copy contacts from msn to my contacts list" (sth like this) while configuring your messenger during installation.
I suggest you now use outlook, copying the contacts of the kaiser to your pc, deleting the unwanted ones from the pc (it certainly is easier with a proper keyboard and a mouse) and then sync outlook with your mobile phone (be careful you should set active sync so that it modifies the kaiser's contact list by keeping the changes you made on the pc - have a look at active sync's settings).

i found a software that can actualy do it lol its called ClearContacts

but vista mobile managing software wouldnt let me sync contacts into outlook

So yes... i finally got outlook.. great i can back up my contacts to my PC YEY!

haha great stuff... so i get some numbers back.
half of them i make a new contact for and these ones appear in outlook after i sync again...
but i have the newest msn live mobile.. and for some reason that saves all the hotmail emails in to my contact list.
so i add numbers to the peoples email address's i can find..
but these ones dont sync up... is there a reason why?
also how can i get outlook to add the emails to the sync list.

In your ActiveSync options there is a place to "resolve Conflicts" If Its set to use Outlook it will delete contacts not in outlook.

I just got a new rma, i use outlook to sync contacts. i had saved all contacts to outlook & to sim.
when i sync to outlook it says all contacts sync'd but they dont show on my tilt. all i see are my sim contacts as seen before the sync?
is there anyway to get my contacts to xfer over from outlook or do i need to recreate outlook contacts on the tilt again?

Do you have active sync set to overwrite duplicates/files from computer overwrite phone files?

no sir...i was told that'd delete everything off my phone??

Ummmmm I think you need to delete the partnership on the computer side?? Does this sound correct.

If you have all the contacts in Outlook I would also delete the Sim conacts, this may cause an issue.

Contacts Management

Ok so I've had my Kaiser for a few days now. Apparently you have to have outlook to sync contacts from your pc. Well I have a CSV file full of my contact from my old phone. BUT i don't have outlook. I don't want to buy outlook. I have outlook express, windows contacts. (I don't see why i have to buy outlook but whatever). So I found an alternative to outlook, Google Sync. Seems to work ok. I just had to fully update my contacts on google. ANYHOW does any use this to sync contacts? If so is there a way to push contact updates from phone to Google contacts. I only seem to be able to push contacts from Google to my phone. Thanks.

Is it done online? It uses exchange server. It takes your google contacts and syncs them to your phone. But what happens if you add a contact to your phone? I don't think it updates your Google contacts, or at least I can't figure out how. Seems kinda pointless if you cant sync contacts both ways. But what else is someone supposed to do if they don't have outlook?

I use Google sync and the contacts transfer from my phone back to Google and vice versa. It's only the contacts saved on my phone though, not the SIM.

export myphone contacts to google contacts?

hello, I'm switching from my beloved touch pro to the nexus one, but don't want to manually put all of my contacts to my new phone. is there a way for me to export all my contacts from windows myphone contacts to google and to the nexus. i tried just importing my contacts through my live account, but that only pulled the email contacts and not all of my phone contacts. I'll take forever to do it manually, and if I save them to my sim, I'll lose a lot of info. any help? I'm lost at this point.

I found that installing Google Mobile App on my Touch Diamond2 synced all my contacts to my Google Account and therefore automatically appeared on my N1.

There's many ways of doing this....
If any of these apply you can try any of these...
First you can just import them using bluetooth I'm sure. You could just 'mark all' or select all your contacts in your phone book on your phone and just send them using bluetooth to the nexus.
You could also import them into Outlook express and save them as a file and import them into gmail under contacts in gmail.
Or you could set up an extra gmail account and sync your phone's contacts to that account using Google sync and then export those contacts as a file and import them back into your main gmail account or keep them there and use that account to sync with your nexus.
Sorry for making it sound confusing but I'm coming off a symbian S60 V5... I know there's many ways of doing this

I dropped my HTC Touch Diamond down a storm drain, so I'm replacing it with the HTC EVO. My phone synced a day or 2 before, so I have all of my contacts online with Microsoft My Phone. I see no "export" option anywhere on the page. Any help/suggestions for retrieving and importing into the new phone?

I think the easiest way is to set up your gmail account as an exchange account on your Windows Mobile phone and set it to sync mail and contacts.

Then once you set up your N1, your contacts will sync automatically. I love this feature from Google as much as any other. You will never lose your contacts again, no matter what happens to your phone. Also, you can edit and add contacts in your gmail account online and they automatically appear on your phone.

DejaOffice will sync your Nexus contacts to Outlook via USB without going through the google cloud.

Is there a solution for exporting contacts from myPhone? I have broken my TD2 and my TD1 so I can't use that to sync the contacts to the phone and export them. If I could I would probably sync all my old text messages as well.
I am embarking on an approx 30 min task of copying and pasting all my 400 contacts from MyPhone to excel then I can import them. At least I get to tidy up my contacts and remove any duplicates.
