Uh oh, spl update - stuck - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I upgraded the radio, then downloaded the latest spl and ran from recovery. It verified the file loaded then said reboot.
I did that and it's stuck at formatting cache...in recovery.
I can get to the recovery but that's all.

whew! Back up, just reinstalled Cyan and it booted up. Thought I had bricked it.

Recovery died somehow after flashing official donut 1.6

Hi guys. I don't really know what happened here. I've flashed a few different versions of Cyanogen's builds onto my MT3G without any problems. Today I flashed the official 1.6 dev build of Donut before doing Cyanogen's 4.2.3.1 flash. Well, the 1.6 seemed to go smoothly, but after the reboot, the recovery would no longer load. It's now giving me a picture of the phone with an exclamation point when I try to load the recovery.
How can I fix this? Anyone? Please?
taken from cyanogens website site instructions.
If you boot the 1.6 image it will install the HTC stock recovery. Booting back to recovery will show the /!\[] symbol. THIS IS NOT LOSING ROOT. You can still flash update.zip files from this recovery. Also, you can still flash a nicer (CM-1.4) recovery with fastboot, or flash_image inside the CM install once you get it installed.
thats what sounds like happen to me
How do I do anything though? I don't have the ability to do anything, it just sits there on that screen.
<edit> Also, I can't re-flash the recovery. I've tried, but it gives me the error:
Flash FAILED: The command could not be run
After figuring out how to install ADB and trying to fix it via that, it appears that I have somehow lost root. It's giving me Permission Denied or remote device not allow when I try to flash or use fastboot.
Got it fixed. Took me forever, but I made a goldcard and flashed with the stock ROM. Now I'm good to go again after installing CM recovery 1.4.

Phone is working, but can't boot into recovery [[ FIXED ]]

***** FIXED in next post ******
Yes, I searched. No, obvious fixes didn't work.
Maybe someone can help me with this..
So, story:
- Had a Cyan 6.0 installed, decided to go back to frf91.
- Flashed a FULL FRF91 from clockwork recovery that came with Cyan.
- It flashed fine, phone rebooted. FRF91 loaded, seems to work fine.
- I rebooted into bootloader, wanted to flash IntersectRaven's Kernel from recovery, but it showed the android with exclamation mark in a triangle.
- I rebooted again, used fastboot to manually flash latest RA recovery. Flashed fine, but still triangle error.
- I downloaded Clockwork recovery, fastboot flashed it, still a triangle error.
How do I get my recovery back?
And on a related note - does it matter when I install kernel? Does it have to be before/after the ROM?
Thanks!
It seems that it's really picky about the recovery image filename.
Renamed the filename to "recovery.img" and reflashed again. It worked this time.

Can't boot past rogers splash screen, help?

Ok major weirdness with this Rogers Dream.
My wife wanted Angry Birds so I tried to update her cm4.2.15.1 to cm6.1.0 with the 2708 kernel.
Titanium backed up
Followed ezterry's instructions at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9055790&postcount=1
Fastboot showed radio and hboot fine, so I wiped in fastboot and then flashed 6.1 in recovery
flashed ezterry's 20101106 kernel
Rebooted
Stayed on the rogers screen and adb logcat stayed on waiting for device.
Fastboot wiped and flashed the cm6 307 nightly, same thing.
Flashed old tmobile radio and dangerspl. Wiped and flashed again. same thing.
Flashed the nbh file listed in ezterry's post, boots.
Flashed tmobile radio, boots
Flashed dangerspl, boots
Flashed recovery and did a nandroid backup.
Flashed cm4.2.15, stuck at rogers screen, nothing from adb logcat.
booted back to recovery and restored backup. Stuck at rogers screen.
So I'm at a loss as to what to do. boots fine with the orange nbh, but as soon as I try to flash cm it gets stuck. Fastboot and recovery are all accesible and fully functional.
I really hope someone can help me on this as this is my wife's phone and she really wasn't happy that I borked it.
Edit:
Further discovery. It doesn't like to have boot.img flashed. everything else can be flashed and I'll get something from logcat, but if I flash boot.img, it's done.

[Q] Can't upgrade to a working bootloader

Hey guys,
I just got a used G1 and am trying to get it rooted and running 2.2.
I flashed back to RC29, then rooted and flashed Amon_Ra recovery, and then flashed radio 2.22.23.02. I removed the DREAIMG.nbh file from my sdcard.
It's important to note that at this time, I was able to boot up into recovery (home+power), bootloader (camera+power), and normal boot. When I booted into the bootloader, I was unable to press back to get it to go into fastboot, though I verified that I was able to use the back button in recovery and android.
Then, I flashed DangerSPL in update.zip form, from recovery. selected file to install, let it reboot, it flashed and went back to recovery.
--- FROM this point on, every time I turn the phone on it goes to the bootloader. It won't boot into recovery, and it won't let me push back from within the bootloader to enter fastboot. If I put DREAIMG.nbh back on the sdcard, the bootloader will find it, and I can push the trackball to get it to flash RC29, and then when finished to reboot, which brings me back to the very start again, where I re-root, etc. I've done it about 5 times and can confirm that it stops working immediately after flashing the bootloader (verified it still works fine after radio flash)
Any ideas? I can root 1.6, but I need DangerSPL to run CM6, and ideally 2.22.27.08/1.33.0013d.

Help! During Rooting phone went purple lines then black (unresponsive)

Hi,
I successfully unlocked the bootloader. Successfully flashed the TWRP recovery img. And successfully flashed the SuperSU.
However, I was confused in the directions when it first said TWRP recommended then later in the directions it said we were using the cyanogenmod recovery. So after everything was said and done, I went back and tried to flash the cyanogenmod recovery using fastboot flash recovery cyanogenrecovery626s.img. The script ran and the phone screen had purple lines then went black. The phone seems to be on but completely unresponsive. Ive tried running other fastboot scripts and it just says waiting for device....
Did I completely screw my phone up?????
