Doe anybody know if this is possible? Now I only got the background on the hometab, but it would be nice if it is shown all the time... A quick search didnt do the trick for me
id also love to be able to do this, anybody have any clues??
Yeah i would like something like this too.
Maybe even an option to have a different background pic on each tab, so say i have a Dark Knight pic on my home page behind the clock an stuff when i move across to say settings for example i could have a different pic there instead of the plain black with the squares underneath!
bump, the more ive thought about this today the more i want it!

Me as well, did a quick look around the picture files and was hoping that it was just a normal background picture, but I had no succes as well :S
well i assume it wud jus be a case of replacing the image of the grey squares wherever that file may be. for having different image per tab would probably need additional software i would assume. then again, im just guessing. gonna keep this thread open because this is something i really want on my diamond
I'd also love to get an answer to this.
This is not possible till now.
If you use the search, you will see, that it is not possible to change any graphics of touchflo3d till now.

Hi.
Anyone knows if it's still not possible to change the background on all of the tabs?
This would be a very cool feature
it sure would! And I’ve seen a lot of people asking for this feature, so I’m surprised that non of the diamond experts has figured out how just yet.
sushilange and D-MAN666 are figuring this out right now ...
They are developing an app to change the manila files...

I see a lot of porting and creating being done such as Hero roms, Blur, Pulse, and everything else we can get out hands on (and I'm thankful for all of it)
But I was curious if we could make mixture rom with a little bit of everything.
I really like the Pulse's Canvas 3x3 home screen display
And the Behold ii's Notification bar with shortcuts to the wifi, gps, etc.
Hero's this
Blur's that.
Etc.
Would if be too much of a mess with framework and odex's files to mash into one rom?
Highly possible, and very easy... All you need is the source code to all the ROMs you are mixing.... So let me reword that - Highly impossible, and very hard.

EDIT: WOOHOO POST 1000
It might be possible but I think we'd struggle to fit it on a g1 anyway.. By the time you've ported all the neccessary framework to support everything, I think you'd be way past the 90-odd meg we have to play with.... and that's assuming all those packages would play nicely together in the first place.. I'm not about to try it.
Aw shucks, it's a beautiful idea though you all have to admit lol.
But ok well my minute is up I don't mind this thread being moved or deleted thanks guys

And that, dear boy, is why your updates failed. Past about 92 MB you exceed the system allowable update size. We haven't gotten an update that installs directly to the ext yet, although we could do it that way...

That's true. I think we really have something here. Perhaps this thread could become a think tank for getting 100Mb+ roms working. Yes? The only thing is... we don't have a 100Mb+ rom to work on... Hm...
there's a rom floating around here that manages something similar, it's a hero rom with hero apps and the blur launcher with some mixed anims and visuals, a personal favorite of mine, you should check it out, I think it's by diaztradeinc, but I'm not sure, I'll look it up and let you know

So edit the update-script and set the symlinking on the firstboot.sh?
format everything lol
we could format the whole g1 and add the stuffs that we need
or format a 2gb and up sdcard to ext3-4 and put everything on it
I was planning to that. I was trying to put all files from the g1 hard drive to my sdcard but ran out of space. In theory it is possible but you will need a very motived dev to do this.
I think this was the one, but now that I saw it, it looks like this one uses a rosie skinned like the blur's launcher. I remember I had seen another one that actually used the blur launcher on the hero apps/framework, I'd need to dig a bit deeper
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567122
oh, and, honestly, even if we had the source for every single release, I'm very, very sure you still wouldn't see some sort of mashup rom. Why? think about what has been done so far with the available source from android? Other than a few modifications to Launcher, mms, phone, and settings apks (and stericson's lockscreen mods), there's been very little done from the code. Why? because most people here don't even know java. Having the source would still be useless to most people here, let alone actually making something out of it. So, actually, in the mean time, it seems that if this is going to work, the way it's going to be done is the easy way, the way it's been done up to now, just mash things together and force them to work.

Nah, that wasn't it. Most (all?) of drizzy's roms were a joke anyway. I have the rom somewhere in my computer (did I mention I have like 30 GB of roms that I've downloaded? basically, if it's on androidspin, it's on my computer too), so I'll look for it.
To be honest guys I don't think space is a problem at all.
While everyone is going around asking if the g1 will get the 2.0 update I'm very confident we'll be running android 3.0 on our g1's eventually we'll just need to figure out a way to put it on the sd card which I'm sure we can figure out.
It's a shame though, I was hoping we should manage something like that.
A home replacement that uses the Pulse's canvas
Some editis to the notification bar.
Etc etc etc.
But I guess it ties into what someone said about not knowing how to write in the specific code needed which is understandable.

Not yet...since ive been here reading and following along (+ testing ofcourse ) for over a year now, people have progressed amazingly here! More and more are starting to figure out that this is something we all should invest in. Give it more time, more people will learn or come through that are genius coders.
Down the road I absolutely see people writing their own androids, like linux is now. Distributions (or highly modified current builds).
Sort of how hero changed everything, we had the basic one tab at the bottom, then all of a sudden this came out and we had many tabs and new interactions.
Anything is possible with this, just give maybe another 6 months, but def. a year will bring some talent through. Just hope the g1 holds till then

The right place for this question would be the thread of the build you are using.
There you have all the people that use this build and the developers of the build.
They would advice you to read the first post, thoroughly, and the FAQ to wich you can find a link in said first post of said thread.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and it will feed him all his life.
But you may be right with the stalking. I spend all my time searching for posts like this. When I find one, I give the TS an answer that will surely give him a headache. Then I wait around the corner for you to turn up.
Next time you find one of those posts, shaking your head in disbelief, wait a second before you start typing the correct answer. Quiet. Listen closely. Maybe you can hear my sniggering.

It's a bit easier, although the other way isn't that hard.
It depends on what you like. If you like the smaller status bar/icons so you've got a greater view (what you have at the beginning), then do it the way I explained.
If you prefer the bigger status bar/ icons, do it on your way.
Both ways will make the apps work in full screen, but they'll change the viewing experience.

Ok one more thing (totally unrelated) I keep on trying different builds (some very good) only to try to get Google Navigation to work....it used to work in the past but now no matter what Rom I use, it continues to search for GPS for ever (even though the gps receiver is clearly on) I have tried everything possible to fix the problem but it still persists. IDK what to do now. Any sugestions?

Sorry I'm new in this stuf.
Anyone know how to replace it or remove it? I got my unit a bit ago and rooted it already but I can't remember how I killed it on my note 3.
Change ringtone in settings
Sent from my LG-D801 using XDA Free mobile app
If you mean during the bout sequence/splash screen then you just have to replace that file .gif.... I wouldn't be able to help you with how though as I don't have a clue where it's located on the note 4....
Most custom Roms replace this for you, I'm sure some developers will have some sweetness for you soon.
On my note 3, I put my phone on vibrate before rebooting.

Use a root explorer, navigate to root/system/media/audio/ui and find poweron.ogg
You can delete it or do like I do and just put an "x" after the ogg, that way if you want it back you can just delete the "x" and it functions as normal.
Hope it helps .

Funny thread
Stereophonic / Remastered Android Audio
Greeting fellow XDA'ers (?)
It's long overdue, but Stereophonic / Remastered Android Audio will be updated soon for 2020! I'm working on adding some new phones, and also have my sights set on adding Android 9 and 10.
Remastered Audio! What do I mean by remastered you may ask? Some sounds have been amplified, safely, some others have been de-amplified to less harsh levels based on manual listening and adjusting sessions. Mono tracks have been turned into stereo tracks, and some stereo tracks have been rebalanced to give better total output. I tried to insure that all audio tracks never surpasses -3db as a rule of thumb. The goal is to get as loud as COMFORTABLY possible or to LOWER the volume on some audio so it doesn't sound like your phone's speaker is exploding.
Basically...
Dislike not being able to hear your keyboard very well when you type?
Want to hear those lovely lock and unlock sounds without having to be in a whisper quiet room? (I know I do)
Are you annoyed by how outrageously quiet the camera sounds are?
Hate the distorted rattle sound that some ringtones cause due to being too loud?
Want to add a crap ton of new and cool sounds to your phone?
Want to preserve your phone's speakers to hopefully keep them from being damaged? (In theory)
Well look no further!
[Warning] This process does increase the file size of most audio files, while I've not heard any kind of lag or delay what so ever at all during my testing, even with crazy trying and such. It is entirely possible that some sort of lag/delay could be introduced on some/slower devices. This is just a theoretical guess mind you.
Thanks to user Eun-Hjzjined for the flashable zip. Just flash the attached file via your custom recovery and all should be well.
ALSO
Always looking for new system media dumps from new phones or new Android versions to remaster and add to the project! Feel free to send em my way!
I hope some of you get enjoyment out of this. I originally did it for myself, but felt that others like myself may want to enjoy better audio.
Thanks all!

Internet here is slow mate! Haha. Sorry
Logo is up!
So if I wanted to try this, I just flash in recovery. To get back to stock do I just flash the ROM again.
I have a general question for you:
I run most often PureNexus or another close variant and flashing this over my current setup (latest PureNexus) the names are the same but the actual sounds are different. They are remastered properly and sound really good, but it is almost like the names of the ringtones I know are not the stock ones that you remastered. Is there a reason why the sound files all have different names and different sounds across ROMs or is that an AOSP thing? I know CM has completely different ringtones and names, but just AOSP there doesn't seem to be a consensus on what name goes with what sound.

Basically yes, though you could backup your current sounds with a root file explorer. But honestly I am 99% sure you won't feel the need to switch back.

That is kind of what I thought. My favorite ringtone in stock PureNexus is Phobos (also one of my favorite rounds in Quake 3) and if I ever find out the actual name for that ringtone I'm going to request you to amplify it for me. Thanks for letting me know though and thank you sincerely for doing this. I can finally hear actions, like screen touches, without having to crank the volume :good:

I got it. I found it in a version of Skydragon ROM for the Nexus 6. I'm seriously starting to think that different Nexus phones (made by separate manufacturers) have different released sounds. Either way, I attached a zip, could I trouble you to perhaps to make this ringtone awesome like the others and I will track down the Jasmine ringtone for you? Thank you for this
Went through just a few folders (screenshot attached) but I found the notification called "Jasmine" that was released for the HTC One in one of the XDA community's audio ripping extravaganza. Credit goes to @Nick Fury who uploaded it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183179 so if you want the whole archive of sounds you can grab it as well. I zipped and attached Jasmine, but the sound on it is really low (your specialty as I recall). Hopefully it is the one you were looking for and if not believe me, I probably have the one you are looking for in the stuff I downloaded.
As an aside, Great archive of phone sounds found here: http://forums.theandroidchannel.com/topic/203-download-android-devices-stock-system-sounds/ (Where I got most of the files in my screenshot)
