How is userinit.sh invoked? - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I'm trying to figure out how userinit.sh is invoked in the CM builds or other builds. I want to be able to set scaling_max_cpufreq on bootup on a stock HTC cupcake build.
Thanks

If you want a answer this needs to be posted in Q & A

Yes. It is within the a2sd file.

How to go from Hero or other custom rom to cyan rom 4.2.5??

So i read this http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.p..._Android_1.6_.26_CyanogenMod_4.2.5.2F4.1.9999
but it flashes a radio which will cause a brick right?Obviously i have 26I radio w/ Haykuro Spl, so what now.
p.s. please dont reply if you plan on being unproductive
If you already have haykuro's spl you should be fine, I've ran hero and gone back to cyanogen's builds before. Yes, the htc file writes to the radio, but it allows you to keep those google apps which are no longer found in cyanogen's builds when upgrading versions of his roms.
reflashing the same radio again is bad though..
wow.. and you posted this in Cyanogen's thread, and made one here.
Aren't you a ROM developer?
Why not remove the radio from the HTC image before flashing?

you must have missed my first post or you are some kind of stalker to be bugging me like this...this really isnt helping im trying to sell my g1 but the r person wants cyan not hero so please stay on topic people..
you'll be fine just following the directions on the wiki page. flash the htc image, then 4.2.5. i've done it at least 3 times now. you'll be fine.

And obviously you missed the point of my post. If you are worried about flashing the radio, remove it from the HTC update, repackage the update and flash comfortably.
How could I have been any more productive or on topic?

How would the 26I radio interfere with the 26I radio?
did you even read the first 3 pages of cyanogens thread?
The answer is already there
it's the same radio, i can't even count how many times i flashed back and forth between hero and cm before i started using switchrom.

i haven't had any major ones. one time recently, it said it couldn't restore the nandroid backup of one of the roms, but i didn't really think anything of it. i just flash cyan 4.2.5, which i've been using ever since.

Cyanogen mod 6?

i'm not a dev, but how hard would it be to port cyanogen mod 6 to the vogue.
if somebody could give me a tutorial on how to do it i would love to bring it to you guys
i already have a computer with xubuntu on it (should work fine for the SDK) and i have the SDK downloaded but from there i got nothing, i am still not sure i even need the SDK for this port
I've got it ported, if you guys are okay waiting a couple of days I'll post it
Sweet your the man my touch will def be getting some tinkering with when you release this

np - and now that I re-read it, sorry if it came off condescending, didn't mean it that way. written language sucks. spoken word ftw.
Here you go, I've not got any plans to keep this updated as I just put it together for my wifes vogue. Everything works. See the cyanogen mod faq for answers to most of your questions.
It shows two copies of the file. I'm not sure why, but they're both the same.

Anyone trying this build want to compare it to dzo's?
anybody having problems getting this to boot?
you'll probably have to wipe data
i did wipe data, just put the newest nbh on the phone at 240x320
before it goes to the boot screen it says something
mount: system/xbin/su failed no such file or directory exist
can i just rename this to an update and update it over incubus rls10? (running off haret)

No, it's a totally different build, just updating will leave files from the old build and will end up being messy. At best you may be able install the system without wipig data.
I cant get it to boot.. it gets stuck at the boot animation and loops. im using latest froyo kernel on vogue.
Try using a 320x480 nbh if having problems booting.
EDIT: Sorry, for some reason I was thinking this was a sense build.

Market didn't work for me (FC'd) so I've put an androidupdate.tar together with Vending.apk from dzo's Froyo (and also Kaiser/Polaris WiFi support), here..
i just went back to the 7/5 kernel and it booted fine

not sure if that answers your question
Dev is not the place to ask.
Also afaik the current release does not have the orientation fix
I thought they were disallowing n00bs from posting in the dev section until they had 10 posts??

I get your joke lol anyway it will run on the Captivate but without any changes to the Kernel it has some wrong settings like orientation and stuff. Also in general it's quite buggy and does not have all features working. The Devs working on it have made GREAT Progress but they only released this "test build" because someone built it from their source and released it before it was meant to be released.

To answer your question it does work. Turn auto rotate off unless you want everything in landscape, use the speaker to listen to the phone, and set the notification ring tones to come through the speaker-just like with any other other I9000 rom whose kernel has not been reoriented for the Captivate. You also may need an external SD card for applications to function. On earlier versions this was a necessity but it may be different on the newer builds. You previously could not save anything to the internal SD card.
I installed it and got everything working using the JK4 modem, but I'm just using the stock kernel right now so Home and Search buttons don't work. Anyone who's reoriented the cm7 kernel mind posting it or pming me a link? Thanks.
I reoriented a kernel but I haven't compiled it yet. #cm7oncappy on freenide for more info

[Q] [7/12/2011][CDMA][Kernel][GB] : Gingerbread OC Kernel and EXT4

Since Spacemoose1 is going to hold off on HC Rom until 3.2 is released, how long until we see EXT4 and OC on GB? Is it possible or is something out there already that is compatible with 2.3.4 on a Sprint CDMA Tab?
Moved to Q & A section of forum.
This probably needs to be moved to Q&A. Its a little misleading unless you look at the [Q]. Not to offend you...just trying to help. Plus oldmacnut is working on it with help from spacemoose1. Patience is a virtue...so is searching this site.

[Q] Froyo source

ok so as most of you know i have ben busy with the SenseLX rom... but on my spare time i would like to port a froyo rom so i can get some experience on froyo... but my question is where to begin? lol i need to find a fresh source, start from scratch!!! i dont want to use someone elses rom to make my personal changes.. i would rather port my own froyo rom and start from there... so can anyone guide me in the right direction? thank you!!
I am glad someone finally getting the right idea. I definately love to see the progress (when you get the original source code) and might even try the ROM out.
That is why I love my current ROM, the DEV use the original source code from google. So there is no problem attached to it from other DEV.
Good luck on this new ROM.
I don't know if this would help. This is what I found. Froyo Source Code

(not sure if the syntax is correct, I have no time/possibility to check it at the moment, but it's very like to the procedure Terry described in his thread).
