but, I tried thousands of times to find a full WM6.1 capabilities (like the official version) with Manila 2.5 and I DIDN'T FIND one ..
the best one i found was from Miri .. but also not good ... missing so many things ...
can't you work on the official version and just add manila 2.5 ????????

locked thread allready.If you dont know anything about roms in general its absolutely ok.But starting a new thread asking for something so ... its spaming the xda's rom developement forum.(even if its quiet lately)Manilla 2.5 isnt even out there,and its too buggy yet.Cooked roms are optimized and in 99% of the cases much faster and accepting.(i mean in terms of compatibility with stuff or software,like 2.5 manila in that case)

There is nothing wrong seeking info about ROM developments and any development has one single purpose - help the users!. Not everyone is ROM shef or cook and all-in-one expert. Majority are users; and a real developer would always be pleased to inform you the best.
Otherwise! this forum should be reserved only for COOKs, Shefs, Testers and the Users should start another forum to seek info.

I think that (official WM6.1 + Manilla2.5) = slow ROM & depleted RAM. I'd better choose a custom 6.1 for that purpose

you know what ... maybe my situation is not good for me to be a developer .. but i really like that aspect ...
i live in Cyprus .. and there is no HTC branch even ..
if, for example, my mobile battery got corrupted, i'll not be able to buy new one ! ... even to ship from Amazon or eBay come to cyprus ...

before your thread is closed by admin, i think you can try Miri's WM6.1+Manila 2.5. this combination will never be OFFICIAL as Manila 2.5 is designed for wm6.5. anyways Miri made such a magic but dont expect it's bug free, ok?

Manila 2.6 is not 2.6 it is 2.5.1 but has been nicknamed 2.6, dont think you will see a cab for 2.5 due to the complexity of the many files involved, and the various parts of the system it skins etc. I think you will be waiting a very long time for this!

have you seen cab file for Manial 2 or 2.1?
you will never see cab file for any manila.
I tried combining wm6.1 and manila 2.5. It isn't happening lol..

Manila 2.5 is not meant for wm6.1, there will always be some incompatibilities and this will continue with future mnaila versions.

greetings dear friends, i just wanted to make this request that some of our talanted cooks may provide a 6.1 rom with manila 2.5, dont know if it is possible? but it would be very nice and i am sure many would find this to be a great rom to use on their device?
anyhow, i would like this, since some of my must have apps dont function very good on winmo 6.5, but i love the new manila 2.5, so a mix of the best from both worlds would be great

Not sure this is possible due to incompatibility issues. I believe manila 2.5 uses new WinMo 6.5 Features
I already tried, but I can't get it working, Manila will not start up. Some Leo packages do start up but look really messy. I do not have the latest Leo Packages (like Miri and Dutty do) and have no idea where to get them so I can't say anything about the later versions.

That depends... Both Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5 are quite stable (talking about 23016 not the 23022+ branch) and both have their own native versions of Manila. However Manila 2.5 is still in beta (rather say alpha) and not as stable as Manila 2.1. But, although Manila 2.1 is writen for Windows Mobile 6.1, Manila 2.1 is rather easy to get working on Windows Mobile 6.5 (not supporting any of the new functions though).
So you will find WinMo 6.5 ROMs containing Manila 2.1 as well as ROMs containing 2.5. In the WinMo 6.1 branch you will find only ROMs using Manila 2.1 and some Leo (Manila 2.5) Packages (keyboard and stuff, but mostly just Topaz and Rhodium Packages).

ok, so probably its not possible, its just i use some older programs that always hang or just exit when using winmo 6.5, so i need 6.1 for now i guess... would be nice tho with some upgrade for 6.1 ..... getting tired of manila...(2.0-1)
Maybe we can do a test and see...I don't have much time right now, but if you can give me a link where to download a WM 6.1 SYS/XIP, I can try it.

Oh the problem for me is as i said in many post the wm6.5 top and bottom bar sometime transparent sometime not (black in application, transparent in home screen but sometime when u go back to home screen from application the top bar is still black) + the popup menu is very ugly especially when u try to pop it out in lanscape ^^

I know you posted the files for Miri, but I downloaded them too (I don't have 21052, still working with 21048). I can't help wondering, isn't this package for 240x320? Since the package contains only DPI96 and ResH 240 / ResV 320.
Also I want to help out too, since I already gave it a spin this afternoon. Not sure if I can be of much help, but if you have a question or you need someone to test anything drop me a PM.

Thanks, I imported them to my kitchen, but so far no luck. At first I just changed the SYS and XIP from 23016 to 21052, however this leaves the ROM completely unbootable (too many modules for starter). I started from scratch and had some luck booting the ROM, but mostly when I added Manila 2.5 the ROM won't boot.
For tonight I must give it a rest it's now 12:00 PM (or 0:00 as we display time) will try tomorrow some more!

I|m looking for a bare WM 6.5 ROM without TF3D and all the unnecessarzy extras and HTC customizations, just stock WinMo 6.5 with the necessary "drivers ?" etc
If possible in German, but for the moment English will do as well...

Well sounds you need to start cooking yourself!
German ROMs have to be cooked. Look in the Dev and Hacking forum, there is a thread with all new released and language packs. Good luck cooking...
Or you can pay someone to cook a special ROM for ya...
In my next batch of ROMs that will be based on the latest available SYS at the time will have a super light version...They will be up later tonight (East Coast) or tomorrow in the AM.
They are based on the latest SYS build found in the dev section of XDA.
It might just be what you are looking for cause I am making the same thing for myself...

Hello everyone in the Blackstone thread.
Since I bought my Touch HD I always wanted the defice to perform as best as possible. During the last year I have tried many many ROMs and I have to say - none was bugfree (found one almost perfect - for me . Some bugs could be easily left forgotten as these weren't anyhow cruical.
But some were just heavily noticeable. These were from the WM6.5 world - generally.
After starting to look on the stability and performace, I have realized WM6.1 is still the best system for Touch HD - very fast, no unneeded options, great response.
I am looking right now for the latest WM6.1 ROM with latest HTC Sense 2.1. Or preferably for someone who is still cooking in WM6.1 world for Touch HD. Unfortunately I cannot find one (Dutty's v4.3 FINAL is a little bit outdated, and that's the latest one I have found ;/ ).
Anyone knows about such person?
If not I am going to try my best to cook such ROM, so I would appreciate any comments if there would be anyone interested and/or anyone willing to help me to reach the point. I am avaliable to spend as much time as possible to get this done.

Look at the Topix thread, Kwbr has been cooking 6.1 roms for quite some time. His 3.1.2 rom is supposedly bugfree!
I'm not sure if he's gonna update it anytime soon though.
I have to agree after months of rom flashing with manila 2.5. wm6.5 and 6.5.1...I did an official rom flash and had a play with the old 6.1 and wow it was fast and highly responsive.
so yes I would also be interested in a 6.1 kitchen with manila 2.1

Sorry but KWBR will not be updating his 6.1 version anymore he has moved to 6.5 and has sold his HD.
I constantly keep coming back to this KWBR 3.1.2 rom
So fast, so reliable and so much more suited to our Touch HD's
I can simply use my device as it was intended, quickly take a picture, quickly review it, phone works, sms sends, review ballistically fast, all software just runs, soft reset is extremely fast, wifi connects without fail, background all tabs is simple, loads of themes....
But occasionally I miss the glossy Manila 2.5 with all its fluffy weather animations, but not a lot
If I could find a Kitchen for the latest 6.1 I would start learning to chef myself

OK, it seems I am going to build my own ROM. I would like to try to use some cooked ROMs as the base and continue from this point. Anyone knows how to proceed?
I have downloaded few kitchens already (jCEspi's, Ervius, osKitchen, PPCkitchen...) but having problems to use them properly. I haven't found any detailed howto yet, only some basics from the thread or attached readme files. So far "try-fail" style doesn't get me anywhere.
I would appreciate any help with some good howtos.

It maybe of help in getting started. Not sure if it contains a 6.1 Kitchen but Kwbr has compiled what would appear to be a great tutorial on how to cook.
kwbr tutorial isn't needed.
Basically all that is needed to cook - decompile ROM and compile it back (imgfstools, search in dev&hhack).
Kitchens is sometimes more pain than help for novice cook.

Hi all, Does anyone know of a kitchen for the tp that has Manila 2.5 included in it (or is anyone kind enough to share theirs?). I know chefs don't like sharing their kitchens cos then others take credit for the ROMs but this is ONLY for my personal ROMs for my tp - i won't be uploading any as i think there are many talented chefs already for our device.

And added them to the kitchen following the instructions exactly. The ROM boots (strangely there is no settings icon in the start menu????) but Titanium is loaded by default. I try enabling Manila and it just gets stuck on 'tap here to launch HTC sense' then when i tap it says 'launching HTC sense' then back to 'tap here etc etc'?
Basically i want to build a ROM for myself like EnergyROMs (which is what i use normally) but would like to remove some stuff i don't use.

JackWater's kitchen includes Manila 2.5, but doesn't yet have SYS 23518. I think he's planning to upload it soon.

Just wondering-why would you want this? WinMo 6.5 is superior in basically every measurable way, and with the new kernal, it is better than ever. Very few chefs are still producing 6.1 ROMs right now, so I wouldn't count on it.
The first reason is that 101 ram is native with new kernel..and probably D3D driver will work in full speed like with 85mb ram in 6.1..
The second reason is that 6.1 has looking like PDA and 6.5 have looking like iPhone..
And third there is new verisons of 6.1 like 21056..After long time 6.1 has all hotfixes 6.5 don't..

Am I the only one who still likes 6.1? I don't mind 6.5, however I really dislike CHOME and the bottom buttons on 6.5.3. I don't know why anybody would like those.

I think that best rom ever is AthinOS v2 Naked..
just install newer D3D driver..
You will have 107 ram,D3D (with working demo),NetCF3.5,and anything you install will be unistable
I were just tried new kernel with 21054,21056 and 21109 builds and nothing special in speed..trust me!
New kernel speed up only 6.5 builds..to work smoother and faster..

Well, 6.1 is better, because it's much faster. I don't like WM 6.5 new menu (I hate it, actually ). It's like comparing Windows XP with Vista. 6.5 looks gorgeous, but it's a little bit slow
I hope WM 6.6 or 7 will be much better.

everybody have his idea ... deals about one or lot of roms ... but for newbies who want test new rom, could you send link ??? for exemple stylez v5 beta : no link !!!
