I used the AKU2.3 update with option 2 twice and this is the boot info:
ipl 2.24
spl2.25
gsm 02.25.11
os 1.5.4.2
My questions:
1. should I have a different OS?
2. why are my symbols off one to the left when using the keyboard?
3. why does my phone run like slow crap now?
Anyone have thoughts?

Your IPL and SPL should be the same, but I can see here, they are not the same.

no... aku2.3 will not change your OS version indicated on your phone.. go to settings, then about... where you will notice the change is indicated below:
you will notice the build 14955.2.3.0

2. why are my symbols off one to the left when using the keyboard?
It is because you have the wrong keyboard language set. Do a search and you will find the correct reg value for your layout

or find registry wizard to change the language, or use a different rom to load

Shogunmark, I just tried to download your ROM but I get this error:
530 login incorrect.
I assume yours will have the correct language, but does it have A2DP?

yes... and did you use the link of ftp://xda:[email protected] and go to the uploads folder, then wizard folder, then Roms
*EDIT*
just try this one..
ftp://xda:[email protected]@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Wizard/Roms/Shogun_A_La_Carte_Cingular_WWE_2.exe

thats weird, when i click them i get no duplication of the @xda

Thanks for the help, but...
I loaded the ROM shogunmark posted and still get the wonky keyboard bull crap. Have not noticed anything else yet. So now when I want to type a ! my keyboard puts a @ instead.
Could this have anything to do with unlocking the CID or SIM? Or more likely that I did not do either of those right?

that is fking weird... and unlocking cid or sim shouldnt have done that...... in the programs menu there is an icon for ext rom installer, open that and install registry wizard... in that program there is a thing to change the keyboard language... try that and see what happens... other than that i dont know what in the FK could have caused that... Did you drop it? did it work ok before the rom updates and the cid/sim unlock??!?!?!?!?!

Well.. Nothing has been changed.. So.. this IS the official HTC release. Just rooted.. Soooo .. everything should work (haven't tested ALL yet)
How to flash... Simply use Clockworkmod recovery (ROM Manager)..

I'm probably asking a dumb question but I presume this doesn't contain the radio update also?

Baseband version: 47.51.35.17U_7.13.35.05
It actually flash yes..
Basically did it your way
First took the rom.zip from RUU
Rooted it
Removed firmware.zip from first OTA - flashed it
Removed firmware.zip from second OTA - flashed it
Booted to clockwork - did nandroid backup.
Took system.img from nandroid and boot.img from froyo firmware-zip
Loaded into kitchen, rooted it, removed vodafone apps and included radio.img

flashed Super Heavyweight, you are correct. *.cab sending didn't/doesn't work. thanks for catching that. were you able to deploy *.cab while using a version of Lightweight?

I flash heavy lightweight, after sent cab to phone i can't xap file via IE (also Bazaar) any more. Already tried 3 times (flash -> xap via IE Ok - send cabs -> xap via IE fail. ).
Sorry i don't have enought permission to post in "intrinsicROM ..." thread.

now i am using intrinsic 6 Heavy Lightweight.cab files are installed in it pefectly..............

but after installing cab files i try to instal BT file transfer i gives any error ur phone is not fully unlocked...........

dang, seems the Cab Sender relocked your devices...
it is a known problem of Cab Sender, but i hadn't ever been affected before.
you'll need to reflash, unfortunately.
will look into the problem, perhaps i can come up with a work-around.
