Native WM 6.5 NK.exe for you Blackstone guys

I think the topic pretty much says it all;
This is a native WM 6.5 blackstone OEMXIPKernel/xip.bin/os.nb.payload - aware of the new Slot 60/Slot 61 virtual memory layout - what does this mean for you as a chef?
Now you don't have to recmod any modules in \SYS anymore, to port over WM 6.5!
But you will need to use a relocation tool that is aware of the new memory layout;
Ervius Visual Kitchen + Bepe's New Kitchen do this with the "Real WM 6.5 AKU" checkbox
There's also a build of "WMReloc" 2.0 floating around that may support this, that would be compatible with the "old style" kitchen (buildos + g'reloc, it would replace g'reloc)

Was this compiled by HTC? Does this mean that HTC will release a 6.5 update for the HD?

I think it was a press release around March 2009 where HTC said that customers are able to buy an upgrade to WM 6.5 for some of there phones. Blackstone was mentioned, if i remember correct.

What do you mean - base ROM 1.56?

A question: when a port this XIP with XIPPortexEX i must use "Is an AKU-5 'XIP'" or not?

That nk.exe is from the original 1.56 ROM, but modified by MS to support the WM 6.5 memory slots (footprints).
So when we use this, it will show as ROM version 1.56 during boot.

Yes it looks like Manila 2.1. I have seen somewhere a Vodafone branded Pic. I don´t like this without the shortcuts on Homescreen.

i EVEN like it without that ugly shortcuts on Homescreen
So i hope we will get a "Stock-like" Rom with the 2.1 used
i guess it is a "new" 2.1, because i never saw one with the weather on Hometab (or am i blind?!)

Latest 6.1 !!!

Searching everywhere i could not find a single thread dedicated for
blackstone windows mobile 6.1 ROMS
in different threads around i found out that a lot of people still prefer 6.1 versions of blackstone roms for its speed and reliability and I did try several ROMs for different cookers using 6.5 and 6.1 and i have to admit that microsoft windows mobile 6.5 is a great disappointment for a lot of people including myself ... its not the cookers its that windows mobile OS 6.5 sucks ...
therefore i have decided to create this thread to be the place to find the latest 6.1 ROM for our beloved blackstone and i hope we can find new ones here ... cookers stopped developing 6.1 for months now they say it is becoming something of the past and 6.5 is getting more and more builds everyday and trying each one requires flashing several times and it takes time so there is no more time for cooking 6.1 ROMs 6.1 that our blackstone was designed for ! and runs it so smoothly and faster than any ROM around ... looking at the benchmark you will find the first 20 to 25 fastest ROMs are running 6.1 !!
the latest 6.1 ROM i found is Topix 3.1.2 Oct.28.2009 not even in a thread of its own to separate it from 6.5 discussions it is a perfect ROM but I would love to run a 6.1 from NRG or Miri created in 2010 !

+1 support.specialy l26 ultimate v4 rom maybe with 6.1..

I did but i prefer Topix ... it is more stable and facebook doesnt crash manila at all and you do not need to edit registries for it to work

how about Laurentius ROM 3.55? even it's old but seems very promising

yes i know they are on the wiki but this list of 6.1 roms is much smaller than it should be and the latest of them is old what i am asking for is new 6.1 roms to be added to the list

I got lost with all this 6.5 and Sense stuff, was going to sell the HD is was so slow and annoying, flashed to Topix 6.1 and WOW, I had forgotten how fast the HD was...

topix wm6.1 is the way to go.
alas, if someone release a better (e.g. more preconfigured ) rom, i bet they would get lots of followers simply because the speed of wm6.1 is awesome

can someone posts an (active) link for a 6.1 ROM without Manila? the only i know is the Superlite by Onkolog but the link is dead...and i don't want thousand useless Manila files(over 40mb) on my HD, better MS3 for me...thanks

thanks, but Black Pearl ROM is based on 1.57.831.1 Build 20776, the latest WM6.1 ROM for Blacksone are 1.59 Build 21051...should be better, maybe

Really a question for the Chefs.
Guys,
There maybe a few issues with this.
I'm not 100% sure but I don't think MS has released any updated builds of v6.1 (Could be wrong) that our beloved chefs could get their hands on.
Not that I have any cooking skills but I would think that all our chefs have modded their kitchens to deal with v6.5.xx and may not be willing to take, what they may see, as a step back.
This of course is just my humble opinion but I guess the most likely thing to do would be to ask the chefs themselves.

I'm totally with you on that. I never use Manila when MS3 is so nice.
I do appreciate that cookers want to try and fit in the latest and greatest, but it seems to me the latest and greatest is just going to get slower and slower. The HD is great and all, but speedwise it's not much better than the ancient Blue Angel. Heh, thinking that makes me want to see if I still have an old BA lying around and see how IT handles 6.5!
In any case it seems fairly evident that 6.5 has some speed issues compared to 6.1. Now I have no idea personally why that is, whether it's just Manila or the OS itself. Regardless it'd be nice if 6.1 wasn't forgotten all together.

the latest build is 21055 as shown in the screen shot from topix rom 3.1.2 but this Rom has manila 2.1 ... it works fast as nothing else and the manila version without weather animation is very decent but you are asking for a rom without manila
this is one of the reasons I wanted this thread ! we do not even have a clean version of our favorite os with the latest build only manila versions

More 6.1 roms, 6.5 (sense) roms are not made for Blackstone!
ok, sense is looking cool, but why cant some one make 6.1 rom with colors at the tab. and just make it for speed and everyday use. no fancy stuff! FAST FAST FAST!
roms with 6.5 have 50% rom use. 6.1 roms have 32% rom use.. big differens i think..

An answer have been post : is it possible to make a new WM 6.1 with these to make it faster ???

Just wondering-why would you want this? WinMo 6.5 is superior in basically every measurable way, and with the new kernal, it is better than ever. Very few chefs are still producing 6.1 ROMs right now, so I wouldn't count on it.

The first reason is that 101 ram is native with new kernel..and probably D3D driver will work in full speed like with 85mb ram in 6.1..
The second reason is that 6.1 has looking like PDA and 6.5 have looking like iPhone..
And third there is new verisons of 6.1 like 21056..After long time 6.1 has all hotfixes 6.5 don't..

Am I the only one who still likes 6.1? I don't mind 6.5, however I really dislike CHOME and the bottom buttons on 6.5.3. I don't know why anybody would like those.

I think that best rom ever is AthinOS v2 Naked..
just install newer D3D driver..
You will have 107 ram,D3D (with working demo),NetCF3.5,and anything you install will be unistable
I were just tried new kernel with 21054,21056 and 21109 builds and nothing special in speed..trust me!
New kernel speed up only 6.5 builds..to work smoother and faster..

Well, 6.1 is better, because it's much faster. I don't like WM 6.5 new menu (I hate it, actually ). It's like comparing Windows XP with Vista. 6.5 looks gorgeous, but it's a little bit slow
I hope WM 6.6 or 7 will be much better.

There really isn't that many 6.1's that setting a day or 2 aside you could flash and find the one that suits your needs.
One of my favorites used to be PDA v.19 & v.11 but also like -shifu- v.11 "note past tense"

well, I would suggest searching for wm6.1 or plain checking thread titles in rom dev...if you want to have a custom rom that is
official ones, see link above or sticky by pavelx1
msm7200a chipset has "Q3Dimension rendering engine with OpenGL ES-compliant 3D Graphics", so yes it does

If going for WM6.1, what's wrong with the official Sony ROM?

Although not "Clean" (it has manila and other stuff cooked in), Smaberg's Touch X 10.1 is still hands-down, the best 6.1 X1 ROM, even if it's almost a year old.

Agree, the best 6.1 rom I have ever used, I have used it for 2 months with the lest soft reset times per month .
