Is there any way to get a Palm-based program (specifically EndNote - www.endnote.com) to run on a T-Mobile wizard? I'd hate to have to get rid of this for a Treo 680 and EndNote has no plans to develope the software for Windows Mobile. Any help is appreciated.
hi
try the "styletap platform"

StyleTap® Platform allows you to run applications (and games!) originally written for Palm OS handhelds on your Windows Mobile Pocket PC.

Thanx! I'll give that a shot
I dont know why, but i cant get any emu to work, theres never a chance to get the keys on the touchscreen and any setting at all... does anybody know an emu that works on th diamond...
there are so much games on the net, but no chance to play them...
Have you tried Morphgear?
have you? I'm asking for a running one... none of them worked when i tried...
Here i'm running this one on my diamond (snes emulator) just copy the folder to your phone, run the .exe and load the game. its best if you landscape the picture and use arrows with the touch Y,X,A,B rather than touch gamepad (screen's too small)

Can you please re-upload? The link is no longer valid, and I too have been looking for solid emulators
Using Gen+ here. Really good genesis emulator (sega megadrive). the 3 buttons (A,B,C) are on the right on the screen and it's working perfectly...

how can we use the smart touch (directional keys) in games/emulatores?
Hello.
Since we're talking about emulators I want to ask: has anybody seen a GBA emu for WM which supports savetype 128k (feature of GBA). I've tried a few programs but they only support 64k savetype.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Is there any way where I can get DosBox running on my rooted HTC Dream? Based on http://www.dosbox.com/download.php?main=1 - there seems to be support for running it on Linux based systems. Can someone please point me in the right direction or maybe a project group that is porting it over to Android? Thanks
Nobody with any answers?
I'd imagine it would be possible, but it would probably take some "porting" to get it to work well.
Why would you want to run DosBox on your phone anyway?
To play old DOS games on my HTC Dream. I find the Gameboy, SNES, NES, CPS2 emulators to be very enjoyable. But the type of games are limited on those platforms. DOS games would really hit the spot
Can I install debian on my phone and then install the DosBOX package through it? I have no experience in Linux at all, except following instructions (step by step) from those who know. Anyone can help on this?
Hi there,
i guess this topic fell asleep because there was no other interested users. So here I am! I Just want to give a possible reason for a dosbox implementation for android: Bitmap Brothers Z! Or do you see another way to port this game?
Regards
Micha

There are presently two ways to use DosBox on your android. First being the new alpha stage DosBox built for android which can be found at the androiddosbox.appspot.com and the second way is to download the knock-off called DosBot, which is a port from the original DosBox code and repackaged for $0.99 on the Android Market.
I've not personally tested either of these, because I'm waiting for further releases and bug fixes however if you decide to test them out, i'd be interested to know how it functioned on your specific device.
aDosBox works fine, but with some graphics glitches (like flashing for full screen refreshes).
I use an external bluetooth keyboard with it because aDosBox doesn't manage virtual keyboard (on-screen). I have the Freedom Pro keyboard with has full keys (including ESC which is useful in DOS).
Hello i am new to posting on this site but a long time reader and i have a Xda mini S (wizard).
anyway
i have been looking around the internet because of a crazy idea in my mind.
The idea came to me yesterday after upgrading my rom to WM6.1 then to WM6.5
So am looking at WM6.5 and just am thinking wouldnt it be nice to have Windows Xp on my phone so can be like a portable laptop with calling and texting.
i saw some thing about it for a different pda i think
so was just wondering is it possible to upgrade the rom and install XP on a Xda Mini s.
Doesnt have to be like the Desktop version it can be a mini remake.
as long as its possible to flash it again afterwards if i change my mind about it.
Anyone have any ideas for me ?
An easy way to fix this is via citrix, or via vmware...
well you must be a retard to think xp run on wizard is no such thing runnning xp on a pda close thread please...

Maybe you should think outside the box a little before emphatically saying something isn't possible. Heck, 60 years ago noone thought it possible to carry around a phone withoutwires, or have a computer smaller than the size of a room.
hello,
i wanna say i had win 98.
but.... you have to change resolution with nyditot cause it isn't vga.

.
so goodluck i know it works cause i had it myself.
but as i said no mouse and slow.
just try it is great to see
also watch youtube there are movies about it.
Well, it is impossible to run Windows XP natively, because the architecture of the wizard(or any htc smartphone) differs from the pc architecture.
However, there are 2 ways to "run" xp on your wizard:
1) With an x86 emulator like bochs or qemu; you don't want that because it's even slow on a normal pc, and you still don't have sufficient RAM to run xp.
2) Run xp on a normal pc and use VNC or RDP to control it remotely(so you need a fast internet connection). I believe there an rdp app called "Terminal Services client" on a default wm installation, so I'd go for that one.
If you want to run windows to play games on your pda, I'd advice to forget it, vnc and rdp are not designed for such tasks...
Well, I dig this idea. any one with the know how should be able to port Tablet PC OS into an .nbf file with all the right drivers an stripped of all unnecessary junk ( a minimalist version) . If not a complete os than lookalike may be. May be i am dreaming big but someone should be able to help. I see ppl trying to port Linux/ android on wizard than why not XP?
The Omap processor (which is an ARM processor) isn't powerful enough to Emulate a x86 processor with acceptable speeds and memory to run XP on a wizard (even if XP has been stripped etc..).
