Haykuro - can you fix BT in Hero?

I know you have been focusing on other more important things recently, but we've had this big problem for a while here I was hoping you'd help address. Can you get bluetooth working on your latest Hero build? There were rumors you got it with the last version, though it has been so long, you've weighed in elsewhere (including the Rogers root), and the "dev challenge" with the big pot went unanswered so I figure you haven't actually done it. That said I feel like if anyone here could do it then it would be you. Shafty made some great progress, but it remains elusive. Anyway, I just wanted to ask.

Not only that but you know when he comes back one person is gonna say one thing wrong and he is going to run off again. I agree he is a good Dev but you know what the Dev's we have has pushed everyone and rather have it how it is now then how it used to be with all the crying going on here. I know this will rub people the wrong way but some one needs to say it. IMO

G1 stuck on G1 screen

My G1 is stuck on g1 screen. I was flashing haykuro's spl but i forgot to update my radio. I dont have a warranty and i cant repair because i just got this back a week ago so help would be appreciated just tell me some code or gesture or something to fix this by monday or else my dad's gonna kill me. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Well actually I'm not sorry given the volume of threads and posts relating to SPLs and radios. If you had done a little research first you would have easily realized that you have to update the radio before the SPL....that's by we call it the danger SPL!
I thought flashing the SPL before the radio mistake was so 6 months ago....I guess I was wrong.

Yep he summed it up pretty much, but you can tell tmo that the 1.6 update broke you G1. Or it came broke when you turned it on.

If your dad's gonna kill you, I'd say either run away or find someone else's g1 to borrow for a while (don't mess with their phone tho! stick with ota firmware!) Also, you should tell any buddies you have with g1/mytouch to NOT ROOT THEIR PHONES if they don't know what they are doing, its better to have an ota phone that works than a bricked phone from a botched root access attempt

I got this phone from china thats where my dad ordered it. this costed him $495 and when I bricked it last time it costed him $40 and the afternoon i got my phone he told me that he doesnt want to see my phone bricked again. I am good at modding its just i forgot that my radio was old. Im getting the psp go for christmas but if my dad finds out about this then Im not gonna get ANYTHING. Now its either you find someway to fix my g1 or your precious friend haykuro is coming down with me. ( I was flashing his spl when it soft bricked my phone)

Obviously your not good at modding if this happened
You can't fix a brick... well you can but it requires modding hardware and after what you did to modding software I wouldn't try it.
And why is Haykuro coming down with you, he specifically says that he is NOT responsible for anything that happens, it is all the responsibility of you- and you alone. The best he can do is give you the things needed and instructions the rest is you, and you seemed to have messed that up

Wow really?? I mean no, seriously really?? Maybe we should all just start a huge donation fund specifically designated to the masses that bricked their phones because THEY CAN'T READ/FOLLOW DIRECTIONS
But on the plus side think of this as a learning experience, after you sit there Christmas morning and weep that you don't have any presents to open, I bet you'll never try to modify something again without doing your research and actually try being prepared before you mess with a device that costs a couple hundred dollars

Second, He got it from china cause they had an unlocked version and thats where he gets his phones from. his latest order a week ago came with an iphone that had a wallet attachment with a full QWERTY keyboard so dont you come up in here saying **** to me ***** cause ill **** you up.

If I put the leaked 6.5 ROM on my phone, does anyone know how to go back to the factory software?

If you flash HardSPL then yes, you can go back to 6.1

i dont mean to sound like a jerk at all... we're all noobs (i still am) at some point so with that said there are alot of threads where people ask for the original rom.
if you seach for a lil bit your answer can be found a few places... even google.
folk round here tend to get a lil harsh having to reanswer the same questions, for future reference.

Hey thanks for the reply. I've been on here for a while and I'm no stranger to forums and forum etiquette so I'm not gonna use being a noob as an excuse for asking that question. But I do think we can get a bit stuffy with rules in forums in general, not just here. I think in the midst of a conversation with someone, to casually inquire about something without necessarily asking to be led by the hand to it, is ok. I'm sorry to have seemed like I was asking to be spoon fed, but I was just having casual conversation with you. With a simple yes, I would have searched myself.
But thanks for going to the trouble of finding those links. I just need to confirm now that that ROM and radio actually are working and not flawed in some way. I gotta figure out who created them and how.

Ok, here I go again. Need someone to pimp my Nexus One/Froyo for me..

I got help here to root it so I could get a proggy on there that would allow me to get fonts in larger sizes and yes, I'm very happy. HOWEVER, my HOT SPOT feature is not working and I"m guessing that pimpin' it is what did it and NO, I'm too stupid to fix it and the guy that helped me rooting it had no idea what to do. I'm close to Charlotte, NC and I was wondering if there's anyone around here that could help me? Ie, rooting it AND getting my hot spot stuff to work which is one of the reasons I bought this one and paid a small fortune for it.
Thanks and yes, I would be glad to pay a lil' sumptin' for it, take you out to lunch or help YOU out in any way.

I have gotten great help in forums and I've run into a lot of a$$holes if that answers your question?
As for reading the stickies, I have a reading comprehension problem so that doesn't work for me. Of course, you may want to say that this is bull$hit
and I'm just trying to make it easy on my self and yes, I am but no, the reading thing is not bull and reading instructions are useless.
Last time, I had someone talk me through it in a chat and it worked but took around TWO hours. This would not have happened if it had been
done through here or e mail. You'd be talking days or weeks just getting the thing rooted.
However, I"m not sure how helpful your reply is? Plenty of that around the web. Lots of replies in help forums but LITTLE help. Mostly people that
think their $hit don't stink and that they can say anything just 'cause they're anonymous. Sounds like my neighbor. She used to talk all kinds of
$hit about EVERYONE and tell me how she stood up to someone and told them this or that to their face but she never did. Just told ME how damn
cool she was but I never saw any proof of it.

Post in your local listings (Craigslist, for example). I'm sure there's probably someone in your area that can help you out.
An online forum isn't really the best setting for what you need. You need someone that knows what they're doing (no offense) to look at your phone and do what needs to be done. Otherwise... read through the threads, find rooting/modding instructions, get a custom recovery image on, make a backup, and flash a new ROM.
If you didn't know what you were getting yourself into, you shouldn't have done it. I don't mean that in a disrespectful way, either.

If I ONLY stuck to buying things I completely understood, I would NOT have a damn thing today and no worries, I wasn't insulted.
As for craigslist, haven't found much there but morons but I can give it a try.
However, I KNOW there's plenty of knowledge here, the trick is to find it. LIke I said, I got great help rooting it but now I see there's some problem which I ASSUME is from the rooting.
Note, NOTHING against the guy that helped me out, he did a great job and was very patient so I have no complaints, it's just that now that I found this out, I'd like to get it fixed.

well man, what you can do is give us some details too.. are you on a custom rom, or stock w/only root, also do you have stock recovery or kosh(sp) or Amon Ra's
If you know how to check you can simply go to about phone and check in there if you are on custom, usually in kernal it will have the devs name.. to find you bout recovery you get the app quickboot(in app market) and hit recovery if you have list of options and i mean a list then you have a custom recovery, if you only have 3 options then its stock..
If you got custom rom& recovery, then you can flash a different rom, this could have broken wifi or something along the way.. so what you do is find a custom rom you like( i say go with enomther) that one is close to stock as possible but with all perks taht are really needed
im new to the n1 communtiy as i barely got my n1 rooted, but i had my g1 for over a year or so and had bout 3 of those, and not much has change except the way to root it

I feel like an idiot, I am personally a galaxy note 2 rooted and custom rom'd user. The G1 was my first android phone years ago. I got 2 g1's for my mom and dad and am trying to get a custom recovery on them. I have rooted both, (1 on 1.5 and the other 1.6) and cannot even see clockwork mod rom manager in the market. I'm guessing because it is such an old android build. What the hell do I do to get a custom recovery on these? All the sites I have found that host amon ra 1.7 do not have the file any more. I wish it was just as easy as installing rom manager, but I canot find it in the market. Please help me, my parents are without phones and I look like a fool.

Ok, first, I will say THANK YOU. As I have already ready that and every other thread and must have missed the section that I just now found.
Second, you need to learn how to talk to people, because at risk of sounding like a keyboard cowboy, I am not the type of person that people talk to that way. No need to be on a high horse here fella, trying to help you understand how and when to post in a forum, if you spent any time in the stickies you would see rules on where to post, theyre very basic and usualy shouldnt even need to be said as theyre kinda obvious. When you hit the search key it may be kinda hard at first, but then you realize its sorted by date, and when "recovery" pops up 30 times in the past fews feeks you haved to assume thered might be something for you in there
