G1 Green pick up/answer button not working, any other alternatives

Hey I need help....my G1 phone got completely wet and slowly everything came back, however my green phone/pick up/answer button is not working, so I am unable to pick up any phone calls.....I let the phone dry overnight, even removed the battery, sd card and put it in front of a fan for a couple hours...I have been trying to look for an alternate button to pick up a phone call but I'm having no luck....Does anyone have an idea of what I can do?? Any app that can change a setting or any hack, yes my phone is rooted...I would greatly appreciate if anyone can help...thanks again

Look at the phone/contact apk mods with the answer button in the dev section.

Yes there is a modified phone apk that has a answer button in the screen..

Flash an eclair ROM, and you can answer via swiping the screen.

So did you drop it in the toilet or what? I am running the latest Super D ROM and it also has an answer button on screen... Haven't been back to Cyano since... ROM loyalty is great, I am all for it... but don't be afraid of trying something new...

Signing Help. I KNOW, I TRIED Q&A. Its About Themes!!

Hey guys .. well i have a pretty sick ass theme put together, and i am at a loss here .. and i have PM'd almost everyone and the new flag-away response is gtalk me .. psh .. if it were only that easy ..
now question one .. when i go to sign my *.zip, it will let me apply the zip, boot, function almost 90 percent correctly, and than i will proceed to get a multitude of errors in my OS. Mainly my GApps. I have found that this only has happened on recent Cyan .2.3.1, and .1.2.3 - as well as EVERY 2.0. 2.01, and 2.1 build.
I NEED YOUR GUYS HELP. it just keeps telling me that i have a f/c and the usual shmiiit in between.. i am ready to pull my hair out. i have used Stericsons tool, and the cmd.exe method, and the right click. WHICH ALL USED TO WORK FINE..

it happens to me randomly, wipe, 1.6 image, cm 4.xxx, theme.
but the first thing i did when i clicked this thread is clicked back but then i thought id give it a chance, next time try not to type in rediculous sized fonts it doesnt get you any more help than typing in regular sized font

the reason your theme doesnt work on eclair is because most of the files in drawable within the framework-res.apk have been moved to drawable-mdpi
edit: nvm i think you said they work 90% on eclair roms? if so, disregard this post lol

yea i didnt think the massive font showed through the Header all the way through to the XDA welcome screen, damn im good...
im playin, i know man it was an error, just is aggrivating when all the 1.6 works, but noooooo 2.0? wow

Can you please fix your OP so it is not so hard on the eyes?
This isn't going to be a signing issue if you can flash your theme. You may want to post your theme or at least the images you edited so people can see what you did, you may have editing something you shouldn't have or did it incorrectly. Do you know what .9's you edited before? Did you look at any changes between the images from one version to another? In 4.2.x some thing have changes and images needed to be reprocessed and such for certain .9's. Btw, most willing to help would rather do it in gtalk over PM's. I know I do because it is easier to explain things on the fly rather then keep going back and forth on a PM.

sorry man, kinda neebish on these, anyways got the signing issue solved, took about an 8th of chron, and some reading, and a COMPLETTTE redo. haha. got it though.. look out for my theme .. it will be out today, as well as Obsidian 2.1 - the REAL 2.1

android 2.0 lockscreen for 2.1????

anyone working on this? I had a nice rom installed before 2.1 that included it, and i SO miss it.....

Heres to hoping someone does something about it I loved that lockscreen as well.

It doesn't work as well as it, but Lockbot does this.

When comparing the framework-res.apk of a 2.0 build vs a 2.1 build. You can see the png's have similar names so im wondering if a small xml/png exchange will do the job.

I compared the two's layout folder. EVERYTHING matches except for 2 new xmls.
keyguard_screen_tab_unlock and keyguard_screen_tab_unlock_land
I tried deleting those and hoping it would revert back to old style. Didnt boot. Tried replace those two with keyguard_screen_rotary_unlock. Didnt boot. Now its your turn. Good luck

[SOLVED] Desire Lockscreen

Hey there guys,
As the title says, i am meaning to ask about the HTC Desire lockscreen.
Our 2.1 Roms, including the ones from the HTC Legend, whenever you want to unlock you pull down the bar and the transition pulls down the lockscreen picture down as well.
On the HTC desire though, you just pull down the bar, and it unlocks in a better (for me) transition. The lockscreen picture stays intact, and the bar is just pulled down. I seem to prefer that.

Is this possible to achieve?

Yes, would be very nice. Perhaps a theme could resolve this or hopefully the official 2.1 will include this.

Gotha be something in the HTCLockscreen.apk !!
Hax some there making the lockscreen "wallpaper/background" not following the unlock bar. Instead you make it stand still and fadeout to the homescreen when unlock has been done.
Don't ask me how to do this tho

Also (thought I might add this in, might be some help), when answering a call only the bar slides down (not the background).
About whether this will be in the official 2.1, I'm not sure if this any indication of what to expect but on the HTC Wildfire (2.1 and similar specs to our Hero), the lockscreen is the same as the one we have in 1.5 (ie bar + background, not just bar).

My guess its just a modified HTCLockscreen.apk

lol me2, hasn't anyone just tried it? i was expecting to be hit with problems when opening this thread, just make a nandroid backup and push the file to /system/app.

Yea figured as much as well, thing is i have no idea if, due to the difference in screen size, it would get affected ( i suppose it will).
And due to me not knowing HOW to edit apk's, thought maybe i'd ask first.
I'll be uploading in a while the Lockscreen.apk off of MCR ROM for the Desire. My ROM isn't deodexed, so I can't test it, if any of you guys wanna give it a try, please do so and let me know. Nandroid first, as kendong said.
edit. just remove the HTCLockscreen.apk from system/app/ and push this one via adb.

Well, as noone tried it, i did a nandroid and cooked a Villain rom 5.5.0 with the APK integrated in it.
Freezes on boot. Ill try again and get a logcat, see if someone can help out.

Ok so instead of a cooked rom, i went ahead and installed 5.5.0 Villain Rom today, and removed the normal HtcLockScreen.apk via adb, and pushed the new one.
As expected, same as above, it wouldn't boot. I've got a logcat now.
Anyone mind giving this a look?

I am still not giving up here.
Decompiled the apk's via the APKTool, and i am "trying" to compare the two. Anyone with more knowledge please help me out.
Here are the two decompiled apk's. One from VR 5.5.0 and the other one from the Desire.
I do believe that this might be a problem with /system/frameword/com.htc.resources.apk. If it is, i have no idea how to fix it. This guess is based upon the fact that most themers update that particular apk in order to move from old framework rosies to new ones (1.5 =>2.1).
ANY help is appreciated.

R$string.smali
Comparing these would probably come up with only the bar going down as these files are smalled then the original hero lockscreen.

You based this on the file size difference, didn't you?
Well, substituting the files from the old lockscreen to the new desire lockscreen, then recompiling would make it work, you believe?

If all the other requets are the same, then yes it should be just a few lines actually. But i have no idea what the other differences between say the dialer, or other functionality the desire lockscreen adds/remove's.

Wouldn't it be easier to get the desire lockscreen.apk and put the graphics from the hero into the apk-file and edit the layout so the images fit into the screen?

Ok I just flashed Fusion seems to be a very cool ROM by the ond and only adam whatever his last name is, the guy that spits roms out like snoop spits lyrics, anyway really like this ROM alot, but once again I am having issues with my gallery when i click camera folder the photos come up in order of last to first, so I shoot a picture and I want to edit and post it, but I have to scroll through 500 pics to get to it, this is a pain in the a** as I am doing this all day, so i have come up with 2 ROMS that dont do it, Continuum and Supernova, I really want to hang out on this ROM for a while as I think its really cool with the blue theme and honeycomb feel to it.....I am beginning to think its my phone as no one else seems to have this issue.......any help would be great...

Gallery Issues
ok I went into pref panel sorted it by date, nothing, went into it via mounting to computer and changed it via date, nothing the gallery is stuck on some jack a** setting and i cant get it working the way i need to i guess i am off to firefly

It may not be just your phone but you are the only one that notices as you use it differently then others. Your best bet it to use one of Adams Q&A threads instead of opening a new thread.
