Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows of a remote control application that can Control Spotify that's running on a workstation - Over bluetooth or wireless...
Just like Salling Clicker does for iTunes - shame it don't work on Android!
Windows or Mac? On a Mac Spotify responds to the same shortcuts as iTunes, so I think an iTunes remote would work.
Windows
Sorry, forgot that detail..
Windows
Will give it a go though You never know...
Zero Luck :|
I'm using an app called Tunes Remote which is very handy.
Connects over your wireless network and lets you control iTunes, it brings back the album art as well to display on your phone.
Hello
I have installed Remote Tunes and everything went fine except that it doesn't find any tracks. It does displays the artists and albums, but when I do a search it keeps searching but doesn't return a result.
If I click play then ITunes starts playing the current selected playlist. It also shows the current track playing on my Hero. So the communication with Itunes is working.
I use WinXP and the latest ITunes 9.0.1. I also have 2500 tracks in my ITunes
Update : If I long press an artist or album I can play the "invisible" tracks.
Anybody any ideas?
Thanks in advance

I am obviously a noob- so please be gentle!
I loaded quite few commercial cds onto the windows media player and so I have say 200 songs all alphabetical by album showing on my screen when I go to library and then my music. I would like to choose the music by artist or by genre, but it is not listed anywhere on the screen AND going to options did not give me an option artist or genre. Is there something that I AM NOT doing???
If using Windows media player is going to be so limited I would also like a recommendation of a good music player. I have not even attempted to watch a video but if there is a player that would do both well, that would even be better.
Thanks
Tited Angel
thats strange! when i go to my music-> it shows artists, albums, genre, all music. Did u sync it with windows media player?
you may also want to try htc audio manager

I used windows media player to get all my music onto my tilt. Ok I guess I am a noob- I THOUGHT that I would be able to see all that information when in now playing- I see now that I CAN go to album artist and genre in MY MUSIC- thanks for getting me to look a little deeper!!!!
Ok, once the files are onto your device, you need to update windows media player's library on pocket pc.
Open Library page of windows media player on pocket pc, choose menu and then select update library.
Regards,
Carty..
yea like what carty said...everytime i put new songs i have to update the library for it to show up
Hi all,
got something that's driving me crazy, i can sync my music with windows media player fine and the music copies across as it should however when i come to play the music with touchflo 3d it only shows the first lot of music i put on.
I cannot seem to figure out how to refresh the libray on touchflo 3d...
does anyone have the answer for me?
thanks
If you tap 'Library', then slide accross to Albums... do your recently synced items show up there?
I am having this problem too
I cannot see any of my music in TF3D music player
no nothing is showing up i resynced all my music with media player and still nothing shows, it nows says no music found.
there must be a better way to sort the library.
there shouldnt be this hassle just to put music on the phone!
I think you require too much for a phone so cheap.
Try the advantage,or wait for HD.

i want your job if you consider this to be (a phone so cheap)
you get paid too much.
on the plus side to the normally challenged people out there , you have to update the library in windows media player, then go into library on touchflo 3D, select all songs and play the first track it then updates all the tracks for you.

thannks man, this has been driving me crazy - talk about a flaw in the system!
Will
Delete Application Data/HTC/AudioManager/AudioManager_Eng.vol and do soft reset.
this will rescann your complete library.
i got the same problem and this helped
I still cannot get it to work - all my music syncs of from media player and I can play it on media player on the diamond but on TF3D it just hangs on Searching!!!
If i delete all my media and load 1 song it works fine if I do the above deleting of the HTC application folder but if I then try to add some more it does not work!!
Has anyone got this working? or is it just me?????

prob just you lol, works for me try this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397819&highlight=tf3d+music+albums
just add the music to internal storage yourself? :S works fine for me
nope didn't work...must be just me!!
I have moved to S2P but its a shame i wanted to use the built in stuff
I had the same problems too. Until I read and followed the instructions for adding songs and album art and updating the library on TF3D.
Now for the enchilada!! Does anyone know how you can update windows media's library (once you have added more songs to the Diamond from PC) and set it to search in a particular folder instead of adding all the media files on the phone(tomtom files, alert & warning sounds and the like) to your music library. Only solution thus far more is to delete these files every time i update, which is now getting a bit tiring .
Any help or suggestions welcomed.
I would like to see an app that makes the Hero into a remote control for Spotify. It would be great to control the music from anywhere in my apartment without the need to walk over to my computer.
There is a similar app called Gmote that controls VLC video/music playback, so doing the same with Spotify should be a possibility.. I hope..
You could just have Spotify on your Hero and use headphones.
Found this:
http://remotify.roligt.net/?page_id=3
Will test it when I get home from work, and give you all a review.
Works perfect on my Hero with MoDaCo 2.3, thanks for the tip
I got the opportunity to test Remotify this weekend, and it does exactly what it's supposed to.
There is a simple interface with play/pause, previous/next and Volume. The remote also shows you what song you are playing.
Setting up the remote is easy, as the server is a single exe-file, and you only enter the pincode for the server.
The remote itself searches for the server, so it's easy to connect.
Remotify is simple, and does exactly what it says.
Remotify with Donut (Android 1.6)
Is it still working for you guys under Android 1.6.
I can install client and server OK but the client side is frozen and the control buttons are unresponsive.
Thanks
For you windows guys we have just released a video demo of remoteless, An iPhone remote for Spotify on Windows.
It got search, browsing, volume-slider and all kinds of features. We are working on a mac port, but 1. march the windows version will be released.
Nice video demo on front page; http://bit.ly/a-less
ReSpot
ReSpot is a Spotify Remote control for android - probably the most feature rich remote for Spotify available.
Visit http://h3x.se for more info.
It requires a premium spotify account.
Does anyone know of any apps that you can remote into the gtab from another pc? like for instance with logmein you can remote from you gtab or from a computer to another computer and control the screen remotely. Wondering if anyone has found any app that can do that but from Computer TO gtab. Like control the gtab screens with your computer.
or even if someone knows of anything that can be used as a remote to control the songs playing or the volume on the gtab from say your phone or computer.
I know there is a program called webkey that i've used to control my droid from my pc not sure if that would work ill give it a try tonight on the gtab.
There's also Paw Server, if you can get that from Market.
If you just want to control music, there's a Gmote app. It's not a full on RDP type thing, but gives you controls for playing media that's on the Android device.
Jim
P.S. I would think that Webkey, that you mentioned, would also work.

Ill have to look into Paw Server, i know of gmote i use that all the time to control the music on my computer via my droid. I try my best not to store music directly on my gtab since the memory isnt too too big trying to save some room and there and not clog it up, but it would be awesome if i could control the songs playing say on pandora from my phone.
Hi,
I am making a Foobar2000 control app by using the foo_httpcontrol add-on. I figured out how I can run certain commands, but I am completely blank on how to get information back from the server like playlists or current playing song. Does anyone have exprience with this on Android or knows how to do it on wp8?
Also: currently I am using a hidden browser for executing the commands, would it be better/possible to use webrequests or something for that?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't say I could help you with foo_httpcontrol. I haven't used it that much.
I'd recommend using the DLNA plugin instead. Using the DLNA app made either by Nokia or HTC (it was that way with wp7, not sure on wp8) would be a similar experience to playing music that's in the music+video tab. Most DLNA apps have the capability to play music from the phone to another device, play music from another device and share it to a third device, e.g. Phone Music -> foobar, foobar -> WP8 -> Bluray player.
Also the album art will display if its in the same folder as the music (the dlna plugin on foobar looks for the folder.jpg first.)

Thank you for your answer, but I don't think that is what I am looking for. My desktop has a music collection that is far greater then the 32gb of my device, and the sound quality is a lot better as well. So I don't want to be streaming from or to my device. Also since my library has about 50.000+ songs I'd prefer to use my well known and set-up music player over searching through my windows folders.
I have seen a couple of android apps that control Foobar2000 by using the plugin I use as well, and they are able to get the song info etc. So it is possible, I just can't figure out how.
(I did download the Nokia Play To app, because streaming like that is also useful at other times )

Well most of my foobar collection are chiptunes, (vgm/sid/gbs) modules (mod, xm, it) and album in a single flac with cue files (flac doesn't always play, but mostly works) so I need it to stream WAV 48khz (its the highest I've tried) over wireless N using that dlna plugin. I have seen some foobar apps thats in the marketplace, but nothing that I'd seen work. Also somthing else that works, is the foo_touchremote plugin. It uses the boujour service (also in Apple's iTunes, but used in other things as well) and works simply with entering a pairing code.
If you still would like to use foo_httpcontrol, I'd ask over at http://www.hydrogenaudio.org.

That touchremote plugin sounds like it could be what I need, I will look into that when I have a bit more time. Thank you for the answers.:good:
