Nicest UI's - G1 Apps and Games

Just wondering what everyone thought about this...
Anyone have any suggestions of apps to look at for their UI alone? Regardless of function.

I think that Sherpa has a very nice looking UI.
so does Tipper.

PicSay looks very cool.
I think the general UI on Android is quite weak, especially compared to iPhone.
Devs need to push the boundaries more I think - maybe get a few designers in!

you must have never seen Rosie working
but it looks promising, you are right. would be nice to have it on the blackstone.. but i am not convinced it will happen. :/
m900's UI looks disgusting
you already posted this same topic in all the Blackstone sections, why?
Looks bad imo, kinda like a beta for touchflow a couple of years ago. Also designed badly from a ui standpoint, most options like the album are full screen but effectivly only use 30% of it which is really inefficient and a waste.
Then again, nice find. Even tho to me its a failed attempt its good to see other manufacturers than HTC working on "fixing" WinMo.
it's definitely from the same authors of manila... lok at icons, shape and animations...
but really ugly
I quite positively hate it, seems awfully counter-productive to me. Manilla is pretty quick to get to your essential items like sms, contacts, email, weather etc, but you have to click all over the damn screen on that.
Anyone have a CAB of this

Looks terrible I would prefer to use titanium and I hate titanium quite a lot.
Manila for me please
The globe showing the location is alright but a novelty. On the whole I would say the interface is crap.
it s*cks bigtime
I like the concept, and quite like the design!
Without wanting to change the topic, I've begun - after trying perhaps 20 ROMs - to begin to wonder what's the point? Shave a bit of memory here, add or remove a program there - they are all much of a muchness (and that's not to give any disrespect to the aptl-named chefs, I am very much in love with some of them!)
But what I would like to see is more innovative attempts at changing the GUI, and I find this a good alternative to TouchFlo/6.5/PointUI/Spb etc etc. and this would be a fun port!
It sure is innovative but...
Its design looks a bit crappy to me. And not really that productive/fast to use.
So up to now i'd stick with TF3D still... Having tried pointui's home2, TF3D, iphone, spb mobile shell 3 i'd say the top two in productivity and looks are iphone's and TF3D.
Spb mobile shell pretty close too but some stuff really turned me off about it.
This one doesn't get close to any of these overall in my personal opinion...

TAT UI

Hey guys found this over at android spin. I think it looks pretty damn cool. I just wonder how piratical it will be for day to day use. I mean we can always use more software to complicate our UI.
http://www.tat.se/home/
Whoa! I'm excited for this, if the implementation turns out as smoothly as it looks.
It's like Sense: The Sequel.

you mean Sense's ugly cousin. Sense all day everyday! brings out the color in my screen
Of course in taking closer looks it's important to separate WOO SHINY EYECANDY from... actually useful.
E.G. will this make my device better, or just get in the way?
In terms of that it's hit and miss. But I do like, for instance, the means of setting the alarm clock (why go into a different screen? This solution seems quick and intuitive), and the 'folding' UI elements - such as the SMS widget, etc. If you don't need them, they fold out of the way. One problem I had with Sense is that most every widget commands the full screen, not leaving me space for much else, regardless of whether or not I'm using the widget at the time.
The widget 'fan' is interesting but I think I prefer the typical 'card' view. The ability to easily drag widgets and shortcuts directly to specific screens is certainly a time saver.
I'm curious to see where this will go in its final iteration -- much like concept cars, everything looks shiny and pretty, but the final product ends up stripping out a lot of the shiny pretty eyecandy in lieu of more practical, intuitive fare.
Good UI design, after all, should be transparent.
ide take this "ugly cousin" over sense any day
+1 Sense is to bulky and doesn't fare well for everyday use. The screens taken for the video were taken fron a MT3G so hopefully we will see that level of smoothness from 1st gen android devices TAT Home is just one of a ton a exciting new things that came out at MWC, cant wait for the beta to drop.
Here is some stuff from an email reply I got from TAT.
We are currently in alfa and expect to reach beta in a couple of weeks.
After that, we will slowly but surely start to roll out the preview to some of the 17,000 people who've signed up so far,
starting with specific Android versions and screen resolutions as we won't target all of them in the first version.
If your are lucky and make it to the list of testers, you'll hear from us in a month or so
I don't remember what forum it was but someone also posted an email reply and they stated that the Nexus1 screen res is supported at start. I also think the G1 should be gtg because it looks like a HTC Hero in the vid.

Sweeterhome2 beta custom themes

hey guys i have designed the lcars interface for samsung galaxy s line i am always open to ideas i use sweeterhome2 beta and focus on functionality aswell as looks
google sweeterhomes 2 choose themes and look up cybertuan
for the few i did make im in the process of creating some really cool stuff so stayed tuned
those who are interested in having personalized themes doesn't matter what kind pm me let me know what you want and if you like my work donate
and remember be kind and rewind
I know many people like Smoked Glass...well I do
my themes can completely alter the ui including a app drawer of custom design the onlything it does not alter is the status bar and widgets are fixed its pretty much you design it thats the way it will be
I'll find sweeter home 2 attractive when it doesn't lag so bad. Seriously, if a 1ghz phone can't push it worth a crap, what can? It lags, it's choppy, etc. It makes no sense that the only smooth motion is the 1 big modification. The vertical screens move smoothly. Horizontal, forget it.

iPhone Theme

I there a nice iPhone Theme available?
Free of charge of course ;-)
An iPhone theme for your Android device?
No.

lol~~ lmao~~
LOL! talk about an instant beatmove!
in all seriousness. if you have a htc desire or a google nexus one, have a look for the rom called miui if your looking for some heavy customization. if your looking for just an app, there is an app called app4desk which is worth a look at
There's an Iphone theme but you have to pay like 1000 to get it because of the Apple Membership Card Fee.
So yeah.
Android Fanboys are so annoying and immature. He asked a simple question and the peanut gallery just had to chime in.

While I agree especially considering there IS an iPhone theme. Apple fanboys (well any "fanboy") are no better and IMO more often worse. There is a fanboy for just about everything. The problem is they usually are wrong and regurgitate bad info
Personally I feel apple gets a reputation for innovation by simply taking something that already exists polishing it up to look nice and locking it down so it runs smooth. Then they sucker everyone in with the next version that has features the original should have had and other manufacturers already have.
At least when it comes to the mobile devices
Sure they are good and often better than others. But far from the best and not innovative
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Or just use desktop visualizer and hit up deviantart or search here for iphone icons.lol
everybody has diff tastes. and 9 times outta 10 people who use iphones, want say htc themes. or vice versa. No diff than windows mobile people wanting android like themes. etc.. A question is a question why not try to answer and be nice instead of throwing out harse remarks.lol
Blasphemy.

Miui.... best of both worlds.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
lol. Try MIUI its great but you might have to worry with your battery life with that Rom lol
Oh, if you have a HTC Desire you could try this one www.miui-au.com which uses a different kernel, and to me, it has a better battery life it might work on N1 too

It's extremely annoying when some people say this. Just buying an iPhone may not be an option if you're not in a position to do so (I wanted an iPhone but could not use AT&T due to contractual obligations with Sprint). Answer the question or move on if you can't. Some people enjoy Apple's aesthetics--deal with it!
That said--I'll reiterate what others have posted--try the MIUI rom, it's reminiscent of an iPhone's interface. Another thing you can do is to download iPhone screen shots and get some widgets that match the clock and some of the icons and wallpaper, it's going to take some work though. The iPhone's icons are out there, I've seen them but never downloaded them. Use something like Launcher PRO or ADW to replace icons. Download the iPhone sounds from the market--I have those.
The wonderful thing about Android is it's dynamic and flexible interface capabilities. You can essentially make your phone look like any cell phone interface you like, WinMO, iOS, Blackberry, etc... Ejoy this device!

android beautiful

I've never seen this site mentioned on here before and thought I would take a moment to share my latest discovery. hope everyone else enjoys it as much as I have. http://www.androidbeautiful.com/
Nice looking but most don't score too high on the usability chart. What's the point of having multiple screens if they don't have shortcuts to apps? Or widgets?
Form over function, heh.
Better than most but not nearly as good as the best i've seen.
Still, considering that most people's idea of a good layout actually looks like somebody vomited a bunch of random icons onto their homescreen, most of those are an improvement.
I still like mycolorscreen.
awesome thanks for sharing only knew http://mycolorscreen.com/ before
I hadn't seen www.mycolorscreen.com before. thanks for sharing.
