hi everyone
yesterday i was using my G1 normally ,then the screen get freeze i reboot the phone and when the phone start up show a messege in left corner says safe mode , whats exactly safe mode and how can i exit to a normal mode ?
p.d i used a search button and no answers found
You enter safe mode by holding menu as the phone is booting, so it's very weird that yours is entering safe mode by itself.
Don't really know what to suggest. You could try holding down menu while booting and see if that gets you out of it, or try wiping as a last resort.
There is a safe mode? Wow, what's next
A recovery?

Yeah, the whole point of safe mode is that it ignores home screen alternatives. There was a problem with OpenHome a while back where it would FC on launch, so the phone couldn't do anything, hence safe mode.
There's a nice bed time story for the kids ;-)
Safe mode? We don't need to stinkin' safe mode!!!

Right, I can get to recovery using clockwork after rooting my phone but cannot get into the bootloader by holding down power, home and volume up at boot.
I've tried turning the phone on, immediatly holding down vol up, power and home. It just cycles the Samsun galaxy boot screen to black screen then repeat.
I've also tried taking my fingers off the power (and all other keys on some occasions) when this screen is reached and then putting them back on again - Still no joy.
Anyone got any ideas?
I'd like to try some other roms on my phone but don't want to mess up booting into android and then have no way of getting into recovery/bootloader. Finding it hard to love my galaxy (compared to my desire) due to how I can't do certain things at the moment!
you are not supposed to boot first
to go into download mode, you do it from Power OFF
remove the battery
put battery back
then do the key combos as shown in the wiki
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Samsung_Galaxy_S/Vibrant_GT-I9000M
if it keeps cycling in and endless loop with the Galaxy logo, then the phone is not good
return the phone, and get another one that works
You need to set flags in the boot loader when the phone starts, you do this by holding HOME and either volume up or down. UP is for recovery, and DOWN is for downloader mod. ( Remember [down]loader. )
So whilst holding those two buttons, you then need to turn on the phone. You simply press power until the phone turns on, it is not 'part of the key combination' per say.
If you have no downloader mode, it may be that you received one of the few phones that had the downloader mode disabled for some reason or another, Samsung have said that they will be releasing a patch to fix this. ( I have no idea how you will install it. )

You could use the one click root app thats available.
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...t-samsung-galaxy-s-i9000-with-a-single-click/
This is very easy and will reboot your phone into recovery mode.

is there an another option?
i'm pretty sure there is a way of forcing download mode, and then flashing a ROM using Odin.. not sure how though.. try googling it or asking around on forums.
Although, if you dropped your phone, and now its not working, there's a possibility of physical damage, and then you'l have to get it fixed.
The good news is that if you cant force download mode or recovery mode, and you cant turn the phone on, your dealer won't be able to tell what you were doing without forcing a flash or replacing hardware, so you're safe anyway.
But yeah, try forcing a flash using a bootloader.
EDIT: oh yeah, check this out. seems pretty scary, but hey, what the hell do you have to lose??

I have had this problem already. You need to force download mode by pressing three buttons and then with Odin reinstall the version you use to have you can find everything on this forum if you search a little. Success!

i have dropped it and it wass like 30% complete with flashing now when i wanna press the 3 buttons it just starts normaly
Stupid reply but: Tried pulling the battery out?
Anyways:
No download mode means buying/borrowing a jig.
Or you could try the hair dryer method but thats a bit risky.
If you cant to any of those you'll have to send it to Samsung. Just say you were updating to 2.2.1 with KIES and then when the update was finished, your phone wouldnt start.
If it fails starting in download mode remove the battery put it back and try again. If the telephone can boot to the galaxy screen. It can boot in download mode. It was tricky when i had the problem and it took me 2 hours until i manage to have it. In my telephone the trick was press menu first then on and volume down..

Note CAPTIVATE NOT SAMSUNG GALAXY S
Its a different system for download mode on a different phone .
Method remove battery replace hold down volume DOWN button and HOME button Now hold down POWER button .
When phone boots to splash screen let go of home and volume down followed by power button .
not work means you need the download mode recovery jig from the front pages .

Hey I entered into a SAFE MODE where all the applications were gone.
This happened to me after a sudden reboot by the system.
Please throw light on how to enter this mode and how it works !!!
I don't think there is such a mode, unless... your /data/ is somehow gone?
There was such a mode on GB, and probably still is on ICS.
Dr.Ketan said you could enter the safe mode by either frequently tapping the menu button or keeping it pressed (can't remember which now) while your Note is booting.

Whn you power on your phone and see "Galaxy Note N-7000" screen, press and kepp holding menu soft key untill you boot into os and you will be in safe mode.
Thanks Vijai but I could not make it work.
I also read in other forums about pressing power and the menu key.
May be I need to know through a step by step process.
Anyone else successful with this ??

Hi
I have 3 year old Captivate, which now has an issue with the volume down button which seems to be making the phone boot into Safe Mode. I'm guessing vol down and power on force Safe Mode. My question is, is there a way to block Safe Mode when I power on.
Phone is running CM 10.1 and apart from this H/W issue is running great.
what do you mean safe mode?
that is a windows term that doesn!t mean anything to me in my android experience.
do you mean recovery mode with only text prompts?
can you please describe the screen you see?

Android has a safe mode, it is used to troubleshoot if a problem is caused by an app you installed or a base Android issue. If you want to learn about it see, http://www.howtogeek.com/130327/how-to-boot-your-android-phone-or-tablet-into-safe-mode/ or similar articles.
This thread is asking how to block Safe Mode.
hey, thanks, I had no idea that existed. I am on a 4.2 rom, cm10.1, and it is there as you suggest.
Back to op. can you get into unsafe mode at all?
if you clean the volume rocker, does it help?
you could also try the reboot menu app in google play. you won't need to press any buttons to power down or reboot. powering would still be trouble, though
Hi
I attempted to root my Note 8 following this tutorial:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/development/root-samfail-galaxy-note8-t3685340
with firmware version number S3. I somehow missed the part about doing the firmware flash first, then part 1. Now my device only boots into "[UPLOAD MODE] Kernel Panic" I have tried my best to get it to boot into download mode or honestly just any mode at this point, but to no avail. Does anyone have a solution for a device not being able to boot into download mode?
Thanks in advance
R you trying combo bottom , hold power+volume down+ bybay bottom at the same time ?
Note: right after boot in to panic mode use the combo, still holding off you will feel a vibrate or 2 after the has to boot on download mode .
I remember one time this happen to me but my phone normally boot in to download mode after use the Combo bottoms hopefully work for you or otther can help to you , good luck

I kid you not; I tried that exact thing maybe 20-30 times before I asked on here, and I tried it one more time after you responded and now it freaking works. Same thing I've been doing this whole time... Anyway, thanks!
