Google Voice App suddenly stopped working for me. I was on Jac's 1.8 hero rom & it was working just fine, and then all of a sudden, it no longer launches. Ever so often Google Voice will work, but for the most part it doesn't. Anyone else having this problem? I also tried the GV app, but it doesn't even get through to place the calls. :\
uninstall it then reinstall see if that helps

Since upgrading to XXJPH, Chrome to Phone has stopped working. The Chrome extension says that it sent the link, but nothing happens on my phone. I reinstalled the app several times, but that didn't help either.
Maybe related to this problem, AppBrain's Fast Web Installer doesn't work, either.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Does anyone else have this problem at all?
Works like a charm here. Chrome to phone is quite prone to connection errors, so maybe try connecting/disconnecting and also linking/unlinking your Gmail account on the phone to Chrome to Phone.
I initially also had same problem when I upgraded to JPH.
UnInstall + Cache clear + Install did the trick for chrome to phone, but still I am unable top get webInstaller running I think app is not compatible with froyo.
anyone running it sucessfully please report...
Chrome to Phone works. Linpush too works.
C2DM (Cloud to Device Messaging) feature of Froyo is working fine on JPH.
Alright, I've gotten pretty desperate now, so I'm making a post of it. A couple of days ago my Captivate's BT voice dialer stopped working. Anytime I try to activate it, it never gets past the startup stage. I have tried all kinds of VoiceDialer.apks and none have fixed the problem and only one even installs. I've also gone into Perception 10.3's zip file and restored the original version and still nada.
I'm at my wits end here and any help would be appreciated. I really need bt voice dial to work, our Perception is only marginally more effective for me than stock, no offense to DG's amazing work.

try going into Settings>Applications>manage applications> ALL > voice dialer > clear data
this can also be done through titanium backup.
and some more questions:
did this happen when you flashed the rom? or after? or unsure?
is this only when bt is connected? if so try clearing bt user data. (you will need to re pair)
This occurred before I even thought about reflashing the ROM. It, and the random vibrations, started up after I flashed to SpeedMod K13A. The normal voice dialer works fine, but doing it via bt does not. It only appears to be a problem with google one, since Vlingo works, in its limited capacity. I will try clearing the app data and

Ok, just went in and Voice Dialler (that's what the system calls it) does not have any data to clear. I'm not sure if this is because I can't get the perception 10 apk to install our something else

Ok, have just re-paired my T1 to my Captivate and still the same thing. I am also thinking that something is stealth crashing (crashing when you don't get the force close message) when the BT Voice Dialer is activated because it get stuck at starting up and I get about 3 vibrations when it first loads up. This is getting quite tiresome. Any suggestions or should I just try to reflash all over again?
Excuse my ignorance. Newbie here... Just got my Gtab and loaded Vegan 5.1. When I try and use Google Voice and Sipdroid I can only get audio from the headphones. Nothing through speakers. Can any one shed light on this?
Someone in another thread said if you hit the menu bought while you're on the call, you'll see an option for speaker. I guess the default is headset.
CSipSimple
I used SipDroid for a while when I had my Fascinate because it was the only good app that ran on 2.1. I found CSipSimple to be MUCH friendlier for my fascinate (after I put froyo on it) and GREAT on my G-Tablet (just much cleaner and friendlier looking).
I still have problems with lag and echoing in my calls, regardless of app or speed of connection. Any ideas?
Mind filling us in on how you did that? I've got a Google Voice account, but I can't get SipDroid or CSipSimple to work at all.
http://hijinksinc.com/2010/05/24/free-sip-calling-with-google-voice-sans-gizmo5/
site above explains how to set it up with csipsimple, ipkall, sipsorcery, and googlevoice for forwarding phone number. (need to replace the instructions' Ekiga with csipsimple)
since with the GTab you can only use it through wifi, i was able to get this method to work.
but this method doesn't work over 3G because of STUN/ICE server issues which prevent you from hearing the other party. so on my LG Optimus V, I use grooveIP, which works perfectly as long as your data connection is faster than 756kb.
hope that helps.
Ive been having an issue for a couple weeks now where the google search app, launched from the drawer or by holding down the home button, closes a second or so after startup with the defulault "We're sorry google search has stopped" message. No amount of clearing the cache/data, rebooting or reinstalling the app makes it work, the only fix was clearing the data and it would work from first launch, once I close it it goes back to crashing. I noticed after a while that it would start working at what at firsr seemed like random times of day, but just recently i noticed it consistently starts working normally again after about 12 pm (cst), i havent been able to tell when it stops working again however. I'm on NG3, rooted, using Dynamic Kat 4.0 using the GPE theme, and I have xposed framework installed. I am open to any suggestions.
EDIT: Currently 2320 here and its still working fine till it started its "scheduled" starting working, so i believe it begins again durning the night or sometime during the morning. Also thinking it over i realized it may have something to do with the wifi im on till around when the issue stops. I will look further in to the circumstances and report back.
EDIT 2: Yep, it crashes consistently if im on the wifi at my school, which doesnt make too much sense considering it will work fine(for the first launch) if i clear data, and google.com loads finein firerox.
Edit 3: If i turn off wifi, open the app, and turn wifi back on then it also works fine, once again until i close the app, past that it doesnt work when on certain wifi networks(so far only seems like the one at my school), i'd also like to note it used to work fine, and the problem appears to have started after upgrading from DK 3.0 to DK 4.0, I may ask in the rom thread as well.
Edit 4: If im on the wifi with a vpn the app opens fine. I think a better title for this issue would be "Google app crashes when on certain wifi networks". I cant think of any way they would correlate, google isnt blocked and the app used to work, but somehow its making it crash.
I also thought I should note that the app im referring to is actually called "google now", its the one that opens with the homekey longpress (by default) and is named "google" in the app drawer.

I have no idea what is going one w new look version and old versions of android auto. Either way, most commands or calling a contact, get driving directions or text someone are decli ed saying something like sorry, not sure how to do that or not know how to handle requests. Kinda frustrating and settings appear to be correct as I can see music apps, google maps etc.
Any suggestions or is it an issue somewhere else. Any other android phone and AA works fine w it whether new look version or old AA version.
Tia,

Same problems here, Android Auto is borked big time on my fold but is still OK on my Pixel 3a. Problems are:-
1) When connected to my vehicles head unit it often disconnects for no reason
2) When I get a stable connection, and ask it to "navigate to xxxx" by voice it responds that it cannot do this "while in driving mode".
3) If I ask it to make a call or send a sms it responds "sorry I cant make calls yet" or "sorry I cant send texts yet"
4) After AA has been opened (even outside the car), Google assistant will no longer make calls or send texts via voice commands. Disabling the Google app, clearing the cache doing a restart brings the assistant functionality back but only until I use AA again.
The whole thing is a complete mess and given it is intended to be used WHILE DRIVING it is a very dangerous distraction - Google/ Samsung need to get on top of this or I can see them getting sued because they killed someone.
UPDATE: Iwas running a beta of google play services, when I uninstalled that and went back to the general release version, everything seems to be working OK with Android Auto.
