Check it out, I'm one of the highest posters on that website.

I use http://idesigniphone.com/ for everything. Awesome selection. The walls are all in 320x480 then I use "Wallpaper Set & save" from the market. I love the gliding effect I get when changing screens. The wallpaper remains stationary but the icons just glide across the screen.

960x800 HQ Texture Wallpapers

Well, since we're our android devices have icons all over them, I like the plain texture wallpapers the best. You can't see much of an image under the interface elements anyway, so the repeating pattern works kinda well.
Anyway, try them out, let me know if you like em, I'll make more.
All images are 960x800 (fit for my Nexus One screen). You can also download the whole set HERE.
How to set wallpapers in high quality (guide for noobs ):
1. Click on the one you like
2. When imageshack loads, click on the image again. Then copy the full image to your device, however you wanna do it.
3. On your android friend, go to market, download "Wallpaper Set and Save". Why? When you set wallpaper through that app, it'll show up with much better color depth than when setting it through android's gallery app.
4. Post how your screen looks like =)
I didn't make these, I stole them from ze interwebs, so copyright goes to whoever made them, bla bla bla.
Cool man thx.
very nice. thank-you very much.
Wow, thank you for these. I've been looking for something like these...
i agree, these do work quite well.
here i have some more

nice.
i would post my wallpaper set... 404 of them, lol.. Most of them are designs, however, and i agree that plain looks better. Actually deleting them off my sdcard and giving the regular ones a try.

Thank you for these. They look fantastic on my Samsung Epic.
Greetings -
Calling from Johannesburg, South Africa ..
I have just signed on to this forum .. because what I would dearly like to know is a website or two which carry a large number of plain textured wallpapers .. Various colours of course .. but my MAIN request is for the wallpaper to be entirely plain ..
and having a texture of parallel lines, OR horizontal lines OR intersecting lines (like a
mesh or net) OR possibly a kind of corrugated effect .. My knowledge of graphics is
virtually nil .. but I would be EXTREMELY grateful if I could find a site with a large number of these textures ..
With MANY thanks in advance ..
the only one I can think of is doing an image search in Google for "texture".
You should find many textures and websites like that.
Many Thanks

Usable Wallpaper Thread for Gtab

So I keep seeing threads pop up on wallpaper this & Wallpaper that.
I thought it would be cool if we started a thread on usable and favorite wall paper for the Gtab.
(Please keep this thread on track for the subject)
Here are two that I created quickly I had these made originally for my Hero, so I just increased the size.
Here are some Diamond plate ones.
And some more of the fur type
Fire and Ice
Shattered Screen
Android puzzle
Nice looking backgrounds, may have to try a couple.
Sent from my Fascinate
Thank you for sharing .
Do live wallpapers count? If so there are three witch I've tried and work okay on this beast..
Super Mario Live
3D Matrix & Reloaded Live
Rotate Earth Live
Silhouette Live
Canopy Live
A couple dozen others I tried only showed/worked partially.
For regular wallpapers I've got a Martian sunset, the only panoramic view of Venus' surface from the Russian probe, a couple of Earth orbit and Earth's city lights from space... some anime I'll post them when I get home.
Yes Live wallpapers would count, post all wallpapers so everyone can check them out.
I'm not on my gtab right now so I can post the wps I have but I'd like to share this website where I downloaded some wallpapers. Cool thing about this site is, if you go to the website using your gtab, there's a process in there that will auto detect your wallpaper size. If you don't want it to autodetect, you can also choose the resolution you want. After you choose the size a preview will pop up and you can long press to save it or set it as your wallpaper. The wallpapers look great.
You don't have to sign up and there's some pretty cool wallpapers.
http://www.desktopnexus.com/
Here are some pretty cool wallpapers
The first two are from the anime Bleach, don't know if any of you read or watch the anime/manga. 1st is Ichigo in his new hollow form, 2nd is Ulquiorra in his release form.
The last two are from where else-space! 1st is an earth orbit shoot. 2nd a Martian sunset from taken by the Spirit rover. PS. Look at how tiny the sun looks like from Mars..
Look at page one I will edit my post and post some more.
i've found that wallpapers on the zeam launcher work pretty much perfect. the launcher is smart enough to resize it properly without having to zoom in much. needless to say, i'm sticking with this launcher from now on. only thing that it doesn't have for me is being able to save your configuration.
and here are a whole bunch of 1024x1024 wallpapers: http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper_beta/downloads/date/apple_devices/ipad_1024x1024/
yea i know its ipad but hey, its 1024x1024.
I like this one
Anyone know where to get this wallpaper
would really like to find it to continue working on my overall theme
Thanks
aquarium free and aquarium donate work great.. Im using it on my tab right now.. love the turtle and the little treasure chest
I dunno if they made it, but I remember that wp from cyanogen mod Makto, you'll be able to find it on their latest rom.
Silly question, but...
Why is it that my tablet will crop images from widescreen to square when selecting an image as wallpaper?

i think thats an android limitation. not sure though because it does the same on my Droid, crops the pic as a square.

It does it for the side scrolling effect. For example on a 480x800 res phone which is normally in portrait you need to use a 960x800 sized image to avoid it being cropped (if you turn the phone landscape it crops the bottom of the image).
The best solution I've found for the Gtab is to use 1024x1024 images (heaps here http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper_beta/downloads/date/apple_devices/ipad_1024x1024/) and set them using the app Wallpaper Set & Save.

Coveroid don't do images big enough for our devices. They're optimised for PCs, and the largest one they do is only 768px in height (1204x768), so it would have to be upscaled by 32px, which could just look gash.
Thanks for the info, but I'll stick to Zedge and Google images (with "large" selected, or 960x800 in the "exact size" box.)

I did try that thanks, and yeah, it was nice. I still prefer Zedge though, as that does wallpaper and ringtones. Anyway, I'm more than happy to look for wallpapers on my PC through google images or flikr etc. and then use dropbox to share to my phone.
For example, neither Zedge nor Flickie has all these beauties available....
http://www.google.co.uk/images?q=tr...&sa=X&ei=OPNJTcCwAoKEOsPQuNcP&ved=0CAgQpwUoAQ
The 3D category in Flikie do some stunning wallpapers, Zedge is ok but Flikie is amazing, i generally prefer 3D type wallapapers

I just wanted to clarify that 1024x768 is one of the resolution available on our website. We do have larger versions of all images and some of them go upwards to 1600x1200. When you are in our android app, we will get you a 960x800 or 960x854 if you have WVGA and FWVGA respectively.
Thanks!

Looks great. Thanks for app.

Personnaly, I pick them up on the internet and use a scaled image to fit my HD2 (see attachment)

Frustrated with Backgrounds!

I have spent the last several hours downloading wallpapers from 4walled.org for my phone. The wallpapers look so nice on the computer, and I really wanted to start theming my phone with them.
So I've loaded up the 300+ wallpapers to my SD-card, and as I start browsing through them in the gallery, I have realized one immutable fact: they all look horrible. The gradients aren't really gradient, they're splotchy.
It was my understanding that this phone's LCD was capable of 24bit color? Perhaps it is not and this is where my woes are from. I have also noticed that .PNG backgrounds do seem to look better than the .jpg counterparts.
Any comments or wisdom into selecting backgrounds would be greatly appreciated.
I just looked at some of those images and they dont look that high quality to me. Maybe your monitor is older and made them look better than they are. Check here for some more. Maybe you will find some you like. http://wallbase.cc/start/
Look up "wallpaper set and save" on market, it will eliminate the color banding you get when you set a wallpaper through the gallery app.
Also make sure the resolution on any wall you get is a minimum of 960x800.
Sent from Thunderbolt.
I use fish bowl photo which will also eliminate the banding. dodol wallpaper maker works great for setting portrait wallpapers too.

Thank you for that site, I always used Interfacelift.net. Nice addition.
I regularly raid DeviantArt for backgrounds and use Wallpaper Wizardrii to set the wallpapers. WW allows you to set a properly sized background without cropping.

Do you prefer that over the Fish Bowl Gallery? And does it support high-resolution images?

I've never used Fish Bowl. I only just started using WW today, but I would think that the no crop feature would only work on a wallpaper that was at or below the correct size for the display.
its all about nik.bot.nu thanks for wallbase.cc tho, another site to lose large chunks of my life too lmao
I get my wallpapers from socwall.com. Thats where I found my current wallpaper.
Thanks for all the links and the info! I will surely check those out!

Nook Color CM7 Wallpaper size

I did a little searching on the forums but havnt come accross a post that has the correct size for a wallpaper size that wont look all pixelated and terrible when applied. ive tried 1200x1024 and even 1900x1024 it all looks pretty bad. Any information would be awesome! Thanks
No offense but didn't look to hard. The VERY first page of Themes and Apps section has the thread your looking for, with all the details you want. In a nutshell there is no REAL resolution, but that thread has the solution and it works very well.

Give Multi Picture Live Wallpaper a try, free in the market. Has worked 100% for me.
Rodney
Install QuickPic (free) and set wallpaper with it. It'll keep the image nice and sharp.
example: http://k.min.us/ib6DuE.png
It's also a great image viewer, faster than the gallery and easy to exclude certain folders.
Agree with previous post. Greaet app.
Quickpic does a good job for Portrait wallpapers but fails badly at Landscape. Ive tried everything possible on the nook for a locked landscape setup and the best result ive had was gathering a ton of pictures, slapping them into a folder, then selecting that folder inside a app called Wall Switch from the market, and just keep switching till a razor sharp one shows up.
I know its not a proper method, but after a while, at least one of them shows up super sharp and high-res and looks amazing. Wish i could be more precise, but thats all i got.
I love what you did

Eozoon, I wish you had posted how you arranged such a nice looking layout. Does anyone know what he used? I would love to know.
*EDIT* I found out where the battery and disk widgets come from, if I find out anymore I'll update my post.
Calendar widget
CPU widget
Folder icons
Battery % widget => Mini Info
disk usage widget => Mini Info
Toggle widget
Launcher/theme
I forgot what the clock is might just be beautiful widgets. Sorry I used to know but this ins't much help.
The cpu widget is SetCPU.
Not sure about the others.

Calendar widget - I assume you mean the clock? That's Simi Clock, I also use Simple Calendar Widget for the actual calendar in an other homescreen.
CPU widget - SetCPU
Folder icons - Simi Folder
Battery % widget => Mini Info
disk usage widget => Mini Info
Toggle widget - Widgetsoid
Launcher/theme - ADW, default theme, I think. Wallpaper from Wallbase.
Thanks for the info. Now I can get mine looking spiffy.

Search on the market for an app called "Image 2 Wallpaper". It's given really clear images and allows for different scaling options.
