Anyone confirm that Klaxon works under JF 1.5? I had several very bad experiences (late for work) with Klaxon under Haykuro's build and I'm hesitant to install it again for fear that I'll wake up in the morning, 2 hours late for work and my phone will be in a boot loop.
I miss my klaxon. :/
It work find in all the Haykuro's build I try...and it work find in JF1.5.
it works but kinda slowly., but you may wanna check out "Alarming!" i find it is the same thing, but looks much better.
I had 2 days of missed alarms and getting to work late with Klaxon on Haykuro's 1.5r3. With JF's, no problems whatsoever, but koush did release an update and also states in the market that Haykuro's build is specifically unsupported.
I believe it does not work in 1.5 and the free version will not be updated. I'm 95% certain that I saw that the developer is working on an updated version (but will need to be purchased)
The latest Klaxon worked for me this morning under JF1.5. Granted, I was already awake, the alarm did indeed go off as scheduled and as designed.
I can confirm that is does work. Tested over the last few days and works perfect for me on JF1.5.
It has worked for me under all 3 of the 1.5 builds I have tried, even Haykuro's. But I always set a regular alarm the first couple times I use it with a new build as others seem to have had problems.
I can confirm klaxon works under JF1.5, Haykuro ADP1.5Hr3, and Haykuro G buld. The only ones that gave me the infinite boot issue are the legacy 5.0.X H builds. I never tested klaxon on the Dude's build, so I can't say about that one.
I realize this isnt exactly what you were asking but it has been working fine for Dudes .92.
Since his builds are based on the stock 1.5 code I dont see why it wouldnt work for JF's 1.5 ADP.
I'm using an older free version of Klaxon and haven't had any issues with ADB 1.5 (not JF).
Wow! So many responses. Thanks! I have the paid version so I *think* it's safe with 1.5 - but like I said, I was nervous. I'll definitely check it out now.
Regarding the app Alarming!, I was using it for a while, but I noticed that when I set it to fade in for 10 seconds, it would fade in every instance of the looped ringtone.. so it'd fade in then fade in again then fade in again.. then fade in again... basically the alarm would only be full volume for about 1 second every 10 seconds.. it took forever to wake me up.
I have the paid version and can confirm it works perfectly with JFv1.5 unlike with Haykuro builds for me.
Also works with 1.5Hr3 for me so far. Another good alarm app is Night Clock, but the only con is that you have to have the app running before going to bed instead of scheduling it ahead time.
I use teh old version with 1.5 and it works except in landscape mode the button is off a little, but I can feel around with my hand.
hey all, question here. I have noticed this in the last few roms, not sure if this happens in stock, but i have been running cognition, currently 3.04 ( before that 3.02, 3.0 and 2.3b6), Occasionally I notice that after the phone comes out of sleep I see the clock go from example 1:30 to 3:30 or something like that. IS that a bug in cognition? or does the clock occasionally turn off when in sleep mode, and the reason for the lag sometimes be the phone cpu usage is doing some thing when i come out of sleep causing the jump to current time? or whats the reasoning behind this?
thanks.

When the device goes to standby, all the widgets and screen updating apps are put to sleep to save battery. When u turn on screen, all these are refreshed. This is normal.
alright. Just curious, how come sometimes i see the clock go super speed to catch up, and other times it at the correct time? ( I usually dont see it, Ive only seen it maybe 5 times past month)

No clue. Didn't go into so deep architecture I shall see if I can find out how it works internally when I get some time.
Thanks. Anyone else feel free to answer as well.
I am looking forward to your research. I am a techy as well, and not knowing why somethings happen and dont happen when it comes to things like this bug the heck out of me.

As a more visible and more frequent occurrence, load a time app onto ur home screen. You can see it get updated when u turn the screen on frequently.
I think its more dependent on how many apps/widgets need to be updated when u turn ur screen on. I hardly have any on my screen so its a rare case I see the time update.
ok, so let me get this right, your saying it probably happens more often when i haven't used my phone in a while, because lets say I have things that update every four hours, and if the phones in sleep, and they haven't updated, they all could possibly be updating when i come out of sleep because there over due, thus sometimes causing the system clock to jump?
Any one else know anything ?

All that u set for 4 hours to update, get updated but in the 'background'. The 'display' part of them is not updated, and is 'refreshed' when screen turns on.
Hey, anyone else got any theories or updates?
I'm using ultimate Rom, newest version as of a couple of days ago.
Just noticed this about 3 times in half an hour or less.
Interested in learning why I will see my clock jump from like 2:13 - 2:17 instantly at times when I come out of sleep...
a google search using different words found this :
http://code.google.com/p/android/is...ec=ID Type Status Owner Summary Stars&id=9524
Are there any devs here that could explain or potentially fix this issue ?
Reading all that worried me, thinking hey, maybe my alarm clock isn't reliable either...
I had this issue when I was running 2.1 stock. I haven't had the issue since flashing 2.2 (have used both cog 3.02 and andromeda 2.0).
Your link also seems specific to 2.1, and I believe is a known issue coming out of 'deep' sleep. I had some luck with app called 'load monitor'. It's free and has a setting I think is called prevent suspend that doesn't allow phone to go into deep sleep.
Not sure if re-flash might help since what you describe shouldn't happen running 2.2
i897 running Andromeda 2.0
Okay. But what are the chances of me repeatingly getting bad flashes? Ive been on cog 2.3b6, 3.0 , 3.02, 3.04 snd now ultimate rom. Sometimes i wont see it happen for weeks. Other times ital happen a few times in 30 mns.

Oh and reading through that link you see tons on 2.2 have that issue, not just 2.1
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Yeah not sure. Really thought was general 2.1 issue, not just on captivate.
Try load monitor. I forget the setting there, but it'll prevent deep sleep. That or you could try app 'no led' and send yourself an email before going to bed (when active notification that app prevents deep sleep too).
Sorry those are lame options that'll affect you battery life to some degree. Perhaps there are better options posted here but you'll have to dig for it.

I'm assuming a ton of people have it but dont pay much attention to it expecially that it comes and goes in seconds.

HI guys. I flashed the latest Nova HD build last week, and up till now it has a few problems.
Speaker not working (the normal one not the in-call speaker)
I tried playing videos on youtube and games and even my music but it does not work at all, I checked and all the volume settings are full. I have tried many solutions like rebooting the phone, reflashing the rom, blowing the speakers. It's worth noting that the sound works on my headphones when they are plugged in. HELP?!
Glitch-y notification bar
Sometimes the notification bar toggles cannot be seen and the whole notification drop-down is blank. For this one I have no idea what is going on but when I open an app or something like that and then exit the notification bar comes back. This one is just irritating, nothing much though.
Battery life isn't as good as claimed but small issue, I lived through a short battery life on my Motorola Atrix before the screen got smashed after I unbootlocked it.
Thanks in advance!!
Also..
It's worth noting that it's not a hardware issue I believe as the speaker was working on the MIUI Rom I flashed on it when I got it as a gift and never touched it until recently, and the headphone icon in the notification bar does not show up when the headphones are plugged in, and I can't remember if this is supposed to happen.

In cwm made three and flash ROM format. in aroma intaller not reformat and install the basic version (no custom). so try to find out if you have the same problem. What's important not to restore the system app with titanium backup.
Sorry for my English.
I'm sorry I didn't really get you. Are you suggesting that I flash a stock rom without backup and then switch back or flash a basic version of the rom without backup? Or flash cm9 stock without mods before switching back?

I dont have any bugs like you. Just try full wipe before flash the rom again.
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda app-developers app
Actually you need to format 2 cache and not the third (date format / factory) that will also clear the rom.In this condition do not lose anything of your information. From there, install zip from sd / sd choose zip and flash rom nova. In aroma installer asked you to select rom based (you choose the first three options) and install.

Sorry
Hi guys, sorry for the late reply, I've been busy at school lately. Well I've basically redownloaded the rom, completely wiped the phone, including the dalvik cache, installed the rom free of any tweaks, before reinstalling the desired rom, and both have no effect on the speaker. I'm really lost but I can't really be bothered to unroot my phone and send it in, and still have to pay for it.
p.s. I have another problem. Sometimes while scrolling, the scrolling isnt smooth esp. when trying to add widgets etc. or change the app operations. Like the words all blend together for a while like it's laggin before returning to normal. Is this normal?
Thanks for all your input!
Did you try to match RIL? Download getRIL (search in google play) and see if your RIL is matching. I'm new here, so I'm not sure if what I'm saying is correct, hehehe.

I´m having quite a frustrating problem. Tried to search the net for hours, only finding a handful of people with the same issue but no solution. So, I wondered if anyone can help me out here? The problem is that my clock is not updating while screen is off. Naturally, this affects all alarms and notifications as well.
20:15 -> I adjust alarm to 20:30 and put the screen off. I press power right after the screen has gone off, and see the lockscreen.
Lockscreen informs it´s 20:15 and the alarm is set at 20:30.
20:30 -> Nothing happens.
20:45 -> I press power. Clock says 20:15 for a second. After one second, it shows 20:45, and the alarm starts ringing.
So the problem is quite easy to identify- the clock doesn´t get updated when screen is off. The moment I switch it on -seeing the lockscreen- it gets updated and acts accordingly if any alarms or notifications were to ring at the period it was not updating. However, it´s much less easy to find out what´s behind it. Could anyone spare me a hint here?
I´m running a rooted P7300 with CM10, 30/10 build. Using Tasker to underclock while the screen is off in order to preserve battery life. I thought that caused the problem, but while leaving the CPU untouched....
01:00 -> Switching tablet off, putting alarm at 9:00
09:10 -> Wife wakes me up instead of the alarm. I press power.
Clock says 8:48 for a second. After that second, it gets updated, shows 9:10, and the alarm starts ringing.
I´m getting a little clueless here, so any help would be appreciated.
Running rooted P7300 with CM10 (30/10 build).
Cheers, Henu.
EDIT: Ok, I´ve come to the conclusion that this freezing happens when entering Deep Sleep. If that could give anyone any clues?
Works on CM10 version 11-11
Hi,
I can confirm that it works correctly in CM10 from 11-11.
I only have one weird problem left: the device drains more power when turned of than in standby.
I have been running the 11_11 build since it was released and had not had clock issues until today. I am not overly technical and have no clue why it is happening again. But for as smooth as this rom is I will live with it.
When mine gets confused on time it will not reset itself once i wake the tablet up, it stays messed up until I manually fix it.

Launcher ?
Do you use the stock launcer? Mine did strange things when using the apex launcher. No problems with stock launcher from cm10.
I am using the stock launcher but have installed nova and thinking about giving it a try

You could try the clock sync app from the play store. It worked on my phone when it had clock sync issues with a rom. Unfortunately, i'm new to xda, so I can't post the link, but just go to the play store and search for clock sync. It's by Sergey Barinov.
Thanks, but unfortunately none of this methods helped- I´m still having the same issue even with the 11/11- build, running Clock Sync as well. Anyone could shed any light here? I wish I wouldn´t have to go back to some (yuck) stock version.
I don't know if this will help but I just resolved this issue for myself. I did a factory reset. And also wiped all caches and system before flash. Then immediately after flash before rebooting system I wiped everything again except system. And then I started up and there was no issue with the clock. I'm running cm 10. I hope this helps.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Sounds like voodoo but I´m all in for trying even that. I will post the results tomorrow.
To confirm:
1) Basic superwipe procedure (factory reset/ system, cache, dalvik)
2) flash OS -> don´t boot yet up to OS like normally
3) wipe cache & dalvik
4) THEN reboot -> to OS?
Voodoo, baby.
It worked. Seriously, what the hell. My wild guess is that some file(s) might be corrupted in the actual package- and when the system notices they are missing at the first boot, it will replace them with working ones. Then again, I´m no Android/ Linux expert.
With a clean install, I ran alarm after 8 hours. Worked. Then I added Apex Launcher, waited 2 hours. Alarm went on. Installed everything again with Titanium Backup, put alarm after an hour. Still worked. So I can confirm that it´s not app- dependant but OS- dependant. However, it worked, so thanks a goddamn zillion!!!
Congratulations. Just happy to help.

I´m going to snap this piece of junk into half soon.
The problems came back, no reason why. I´m now trying one more thing, which is completely disabling Tasker, as it´s basically the only thing running while the screen is off. If that doesn´t help, i´m clueless.
EDIT: What a surprise, it didn´t help. So, it´s either non- functioning CM10 or stock ICS. I could had settled with CM9 easily, but that gave me the battery bug after two weeks. Seriously, this whole me- buying- a- tablet- and- getting- it- to- work has been a living joke. I just would love to have a stripped down OS with a Kernel supporting "all sorts of stuff" like processor speed, running app restriction, tweakable backlight etc.
Ok, so I wiped cache and dalvik and it worked for a couple of hours. Then last night the clock froze again. And this was quite interesting..
Alarm set at 10:30
I wake up 11:15 (hey, it was New Year´s Eve )
I press power and the clock says 11:15 and next alarm is set "tuesday 10:30".
Two seconds later the alarm hops into "wednesday 10:30".
Two hours later I press power, and the clock is 11:15 for a second and jumps to real time. So it´s definitely broken again.
I was just wondering- maybe I could try replacing the clock with another kernel´s version, would that be possible? Any help would be much appreciated.
EDIT: I also tried -once again- without automatic time& date (as my connectivity is set to cut off while the screen is off) and it still didn´t alarm me until I manually pressed the screen on.
EDIT2: Ran A1 kernel, no effect, still bugged.
EDIT3: Ran Tracid´s official ICS. Worked for a day, then bugged. Same thing with A1 kernel. I also had some serious issues with MTP connection and bootloader, so I restored stock and brought it back to the store where I got it for warranty repair. They think it´s a faulty MoBo.
I´m shamelessly bumping this. I ran the stock firmware with Odin and took it to the repair, as I wrote earlier.
Got the tab from warranty repair, seems that the only thing they had performed was "software update" . Very useful for someone who is constantly switching ROMs etc... like I hadn´t tried that before.
After returning to stock and all, I installed CM10 again. And "surprisingly", the problems started again. With or without apps, launchers, cachewipes, younameit. I´m now giving this a test with the stock ROM for a couple of days. I actually hope it doesn´t work, because that would be the only reasonable thing now. If it works with the stock ROM, I´m getting clueless. Does that mean I have some sort of issue which happens only in flashed ROMs instead of the stock one? That would be just....awkward.
I have this serious problem. The alarm doesn't sound in the morning( more than 6 hours) However if I set it for 2 hours it triggers! I currently have tony's latest cm10.1 with kelnel 126. You must know that I have tried all most recent cm10 with various kernels. Then I switched to official cm10.1( old boot). Then I tried cm10.1 tony old boot then new boot with no results. Between changes I formatted system, cache etc. Do you have this issue? It's the settings to blame? I'll be reading this post all day.
Yeah, its normal, a lot of O2X users have come late to work/school because of our phone's alarm hehe.
Anyway, charger must be plugged for alarm to be triggered.
If charger isn't plugged, the phone won't wake from deep sleep.
Even on stock ICS alarm won't hit unless you have stock LG kernel installed. That's all I know I'm afraid.

I did. Still no alarm this morning. It rang when I unlocked it. I think goes into a deeper sleep than usual. I will try to format card and install a new rom.
should we freeze (or even uninstall) the clock & clock alarms apps if we use Timely? anyone tried that?
i'm not sure if those 2 apps are connected with anything else in the system besides stock clock/alarms...
Are there no alarm issues using timely?
I had moved from official ICS to Tony's CM 10.2 without re-partition, and alarm worked. Then I bricked my device and reformatted everything using AIOT. Now no alarm. I wonder if there is any connection.
Also, how about one of the experts here comparing logs from devices with working alarm and non working alarm.
so far, no issue with Timely here...
i have disabled the stock clock-alarms app with Titanium... (don't disable clock.apk because it will mess up the lockscreen clock )
