I need a theme that works for Cyans 4.0.4. I mean they are ZERO issues, none, zip, nada. There are several in the theme forum of course but I don't want to hose my phone again trying them. What's the most stable theme for cyans 4.04 other than stock?
There's no such thing as a "stable" theme. If it's created using cyanogen's theme template then it should be "stable". But anytime you modify pngs doing things like theme creating there are possibilities that there will be problems.
I'm just trying to get my phone finished once and for all. If I have wiped, and partitioned once, I must have done it 20 times in the last month. I need a theme that won't break and just works.

Theme's don't just "break". You don't need to repartition or wipe every time you flash a theme. Just flash it, and if you have issues, flash the theme rom or theme template. It sounds like you're a little over cautious...

I have found the neondroid, Ted's Hero Theme, and manup's "Black and Blue" to all be extremely stable with no issues- Chris
most of my themes are just modified images, like said themes shouldn't break anything unless you get a bad download or try flashing from a stericson lockscreen to a non-stericson lockscreen with flashing the rom in between.
also some of the larger themes require the 1.33.2005 for the extra room in /system.
the only 4 things i have really heard of problems with themes are
1. not enough room bc of 1.33.2005 spl requirements
2. a stericson lockscreen to non-stericson lockscreen with out a reflash of the rom.
3.flashing a theme not compatible with the rom version.
4. getting a bad download.

I posted this in the G1 forum but I dont want to leave out the 32B users since I use a MyTouch as my daily device and just use my G1 to mess around with things like the new Blur ROM.
What ROM do you guys want all my themes converted too? That including Oreo, Blur, and my new Pulse theme.
Oreo (Black/Blue/Red): http://alldroid.org/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=26
Blur (White/Red/black): http://alldroid.org/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=185

Amon_RA 1.6.1 ION would be nice mate- i ported over your Kspec_Blur theme last night- very time consuming to do considering you have to zipalign all apks. Had to resize wallpaper in launcher as well to fit onto rom...
its a beautiful looking theme btw. You have done an awesome job with it.
If you decide to theme a different rom i am happy to port them to Amon_RA for you.
BTW: still haven't heard from the guy you put me onto for .9.png editing.... busy for a week or so- will try again after that.
thanks

He confirmed what I thought, the step you are missing is putting the .9.png file in an app and compiling it with eclipse, once you do that you are ready to use the .9.png file.

Cyan 4.1.9999
I made some themes, and everytime there's a new version of the rom, I remake the theme again to make it work with the new version.
Is there another way to make it work? because my themes are every time more complete, and it's becoming harder everytime.
Thanks!

This is a known issue some people are having with metamorph, check out this thread for solutions:

The issue with my black bar mod theme control file has been fixed.

Sounds good, unless I hear an overwhelming response for the regular screen, I will have this up soon. For now, I will be uploading a black-bar version of the lockscreen that will work with this theme (Flash the lockscreen then the theme).
Here is a black-bar version of the lockscreen, but has not been tested. If anyone wants to give it a shot (everything should work fine, at worst case the colors will not be quite right) and report back I would appreciate it.

Hello! Firstly I would like to say great theme! But I have been experiencing problems with Metamorph.
After downloading Version 2.1.1, I opened Metamorph, and did the pick theme, and found the file and metamorph was in the process of unzipping when it said that the theme control file could not be read may be missing. I tired downloading 2.1.1 again and replaced the file but that didn't seem to work..Maybe I am making a noob mistake, as I'm not that familiar with Metamorph.

It has to do with certain download managers changing my file name. I will upload a fixed version.
New version is uploaded, theme control issues are fixed, and will not be a problem again.

Works like a charm! thanks again and happy holidays!
does anyone know if i can apply only the "Black Notification Bar Only" zip without installing metamorph?
By the way, what do you call them..metamorph files or metamorph themes?? Also, I'm on Super D 1.2, and I'm probably going to update to 1.3 tonight, but I wasn't sure if it matters what version, or what ROM you're on, whether it's Cyan. mod, Dwang, or Super D, Does it matter?

I think it matters because on cyanogen roms you need to get the themes specific for the cyanogen mod 4.XXX.XX so you need the theme for that specific rom. lol

Some MMs say "Any 1.6 rom"-"Any 2.0 Rom"-"Tested On Cyanogen 4.2.XX.X
Any Cyan MM can be applied to another donut rom.Since the only thing MM does is replace the images in the apk itself without touching any other files.
Thank you for the replies; I appreciate it.
I would be carefull with anything that touches services.jar or any .xml files as those can be rom-specific. Have a copy of stock theme of the rom you're on on sd just in case.
Good luck
Stock DI18 Theme Template for the Samsung Epic 4g
This is for the themers to work from as a base and for those who wish to theme the stock DI18 rom on the Epic without having to install a deodexed rom.
Credit goes out to Raiderep and Crake for getting the ball rolling, and DearmasFamily for altering the code to make it work correctly. Thanks D, hope you guys enjoy.
This file deletes all the *.odex in system and framework, while installing stock files that have been deodexed and zipaligned. Should run very efficient! Hope you guys enjoy!
Flash in clockworkmod recovery right over the stock rom.
Download:

Should be updating tomorrow with even more optimized stock files.
Just updated link, found 2 media hubs on my phone.
I made a deodexed stock DI18 ROM already a few weeks back for this purpose.

This isn't actually the same thing. For the average user to get their stock rom fully deodexed, you are correct. They can run your update zip, then place a theme on top of it. But for the themers, who are testing multiple themes, or the users who use more than one theme and switch back and forth, there is a huge difference. Let me give you an example. If I'm testing out my mayan theme and I want to flash the black hole. Lets say the mayan theme has the fonts changed and black hole doesn't (not true, just for sake of argument). I flash my theme template to reset the font and then I flash the black hole or have the font from the mayan theme bleed through to the black hole. At this point I'm not going to flash back to a entire stock theme and loose all my settings, I'm just going to flash the theme template to reset the framework files to stock. All settings, including your launcher, phone apps, etc will remain exactly as is when switching themes.
Updated. I was told by Zienzu that there is an issue with the Media Hub not recognizing file formats. I replaced the Media Hub and its services so they should be just fine now. If the problem persists, please notify me.
Looks like the first go round when I had 2 versions of the media hub in there, one was the fixed and one the broken. I deleted the fixed version out by mistake.

Would it be possible to update this for EB13? or point me toward as to how to get a stock eb13 template? Is it the same as downloading the stock theme from the acs frozen rom addon? Thanks.

Not quite the theme template for SyndicateRom has been tweaked to work without carrierIQ plus there are a few other changes in it like reboot option, 3 images for the GPS rather than 2. Sorry for the delay on answering this question. I'm going to work on a stock EB13 theme template.
I dont know if you've started already or given up already on the EB13, but I was wonder if you were working on an EC05 stock theme yet?
