I noticed that even though the speed on CM roms are faster ( a lot ) than JAC's, but in my opinion, the transition animation when u change the phone's orientation looks a lot smoother, and also, the zooming transition in web browsing is much smoother too. Is there any other way beside flashing the JAC's rom will I have that smooth hero transition ?

Hi folks,
I am using Modaco's custom ROM. I would like to change my Hero's window animation: it now uses some kind of fade-in animation, but I like the ION's right-to-left slide animation much better.
Is there something that can be done to change it?
Thanks!
Yeah i would really like the slide transition aswell. Its much nicer then the standard hero transition effect. But i fear htc just replaced it and it wont be easy to get back.
you need to add the old animations into framewrk/framework-res.apk/anim/ all files "I think its like 45 files not 100% sure though!"
So, where can I get the files?
Simply as the title suggests, why does it seem every rom of vanilla 2.0 & 2.1 now fail to have such smooth transitioning between home screens as versions 1.5 & 1.6 did?
This question spans across other android devices too. For instance, when I first saw the motorola droid I was a little shocked to see it switch home screens with so much more lag compared to my old G1 running 1.6. Honestly, I'd figure something as simple as that would be somewhat of a selling point to some simple minded consumers and it really confuses me as to why Google kind of dropped it--at least in terms of combating Apple products it seems like Google kind of gave up.
I have just been assuming it was for battery conservation reasons, if so, is there a way to disable this or somehow simply make it smoother in 2.0 & 2.1 like before?
Thanks for any reply. Sorry for any complete unbearable ignorance I'm nothing more than a noob at some of these things still.
The background in android 2.x is now handled by a different applet, before it was part of the Launcher it self (it still is, just a different part of the Launcher rather than both being under the same window manager).
It sucks, specially on the G1. I've never seen a 2.x rom (other than my own) where the flicking from screen to screen is smooth, so maybe retrofitting the old launcher to 2.x would be idea for those not sold into the live wallpapers thing (or maybe we could make our own version of live wallpapers with animated gifs or even some fancy java)

Okay, thanks. Well if one wanted to push the 1.6 launcher into 2.0 or 2.1 what libs or framework would need to be copied?
Well I just answered my own question: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645550&page=80
Except with this one you loose the eclair zoom in effect when you go into an app--I'm guessing that's part of the eclair launcher. I wonder if there's a way to implement that effect into this doughnut launcher.
Hello this is my first post ( I think)
Right here's my problem I have just come from Darkys Extreme Rom to one of Doc's rom just to try it out and I miss the Animations from Darkys Rom.
For example when u hold down your finger on a text field and it swoops into the screen the pop up menu.
Is there a package or some way of modifying these animations. Standed animations are a little boring.
Thank you guys and gals
look in Settings under Display > Animation; and Spare Parts (if you added it when you cooked) has a setting for animation speed and extra anims.

Is it possible to create a transition animation that would give a "distorted" look? I mean something like changing channels on a very old tv. This and a couple of other little things could make a good Fallout pipboy look-a-like theme.
Hey all... was just wondering if there are any other ROMs for our shamu that have the custom scrolling modifiers to set fling velocity, friction etc... I know Cyanide has it, and broken also has it..is there any other ROMs that offer this? It works wonders with scrolling lag..
Xuimod xposed module had that. It has not been updated in awhile so I'm not sure if it would work with marshmallow
