Stuck at loading screen..

I've been trying to root my stupid Rogers Dream for quite a while now.
After some progress, I've run into a dead end...
I am stuck at the ROGERS screen. I cannot boot the phone into safe mode, recovery, or into fastboot; it all ends up at the Rogers screen.
The last steps I've done would be applying the first update. It brought me back to the root screen, where I did a quickup, and after that finished, I accidentally restarted the phone.
Is there anything I can do to reverse this?
(And yes, I've tried using search, and I wasn't able to find anything relevant.. Help would be greatly appreciated.)

If you can get the recovery or bootloader, than you not bricked, wipe reflash your rom and if that does not work than reformat your sd

I really appreciate the quick reply, but I hate to be needy; how would you reflash your rom?

Hit the apply update.zip from recovery, or if you are using cyan recovery 1.4, then you can do apply any zip.

Just for ****s and giggles, try removing your sdcard and then try to boot your phone

I cant even access recovery mode. What are my options then?

Sounds like a brick, smells like a brick, looks like a brick......probably a brick.
But try taking the sd out, if that wont work maybe take the battery out and give it a few. If it won't work and you can't get to recovery or fastboot you are in trouble.

Camera+Power doesn't work? What was your loading process? Which SPL, Radio and Rom did you load?

I was at step 10, (10.Apply “update.zip”, wait until phone idles, then press the HOME + BACK buttons. It will reboot, finish writing “hboot.img”, then reboot again into Recovery mode by itself. Do not interrupt it at all until it's done.) and I was about to finish writing the hboot.img, however, my finger slipped and I pressed restart on the trackball..
I was using SPL 1.33.2005 and I don't think I applied the radio yet.. all of my roms, and resources were off that page.
And sadly, camera + power does not work. I just see the rogers logo.

That blows goats man, but that finger slip bricked your G1, sorry. If none of the button combos get you anywhere you need a new Dream.

Help please

I tried rooting my phone, I downgraded too rc29 and then tried to root it and i failed. So i tried this process here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=553416
I got to these steps
ON YOUR G1
1. Put SD in the G1 - Hold CAMERA + POWER
2. Press POWER to INSTALL
3. When COMPLETE Click TRACKBALL
4. Hold GREEN + MENU + RED -> REBOOT
The install went good, Said it was successful. But after i rebooted it would not get past the G1 screen. So i tried those steps again and now the install is failing. Any ideas what to do now? Hope i didn't mess my phone up lol
"Never mind, I got RC29 back on. Had to format then run it with only the dreaming nbh file. Apparently that process wont work for me."

G1 won't turn on

Hello everybody
I have just got my T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream). I tried installing Hebrew fonts, and the phone crashed while doing so.
Now when I try to turn it on it's stuck on the G1 screen. If I try pressing home+power I get that screen with the exclamation mark. When I press alt+W, it shows a box instead of the triangle with the exclamation mark, then reboots and to the G1 screen again.
Anybody knows what to do?

needda load a new rom.. if u arent rooted u better get on the adb (command) and start workin on it..
use ravs dream recovery..

If I press alt+S while on the exclamation mark screen, it asks for an update.zip file. I tried downloading and putting it on the SDcard but it says that the verification had failed. Can anyone please get me a working update.zip file?

cant get into recovery

i cant get into my recovery, i have a recovery image, im on cm7 rc3, i tried flashing to the stable using rom manager, but i get stuck on the htc screen, i take out the battery, try flashing the normal way, and im still stuck on the htc screen, what can i do? i deleted gapps off my sd card and put the new one in, but i didnt flash right away, i tried flashing cm7 stable first, dont know if thats what caused the issue. thanks for your help

It puzzles me you say you can't get into recovery but you posted you tried flashing the rom threw rom manger and the " normal " way. I'm thinking the normal way is from your recovery. If you can get into recovery try this. Make a nandroid of your current rom. Then do a full wipe. As in data,cache & dev-cache. Then flash the rom and see if it boots up. If it does. Reboot back into recovery and flash the gapps. then reboot. See if that works. If you cant actually get into recovery just post back and either myself or fellow xda members will try and help you out.

i cant get into recovery at all, what i wrote was i tried flashing the cm7 stable from rom manager first, but it got stuck on the htc screen, then tried the normal way which is holding down the red button and clicking on the reboot-recovery option, and still got stuck on the htc screen. these are the only two ways i know to get into recovery, and holding down the volume down button and the power button, which didnt work for me either, basically i cant get into recovery. i thought it was because i deleted my gapps and didnt flash the new gapps file as soon as i put it in my sd card,but im not sure if that is the reason.

With power off
To boot into recovery you
Press & hold the red power button & press & hold the home buttom untill you see your recovery. Or Peres & hold the power button then press and hold the volume down button. A white screen will appear. When you see the white screen press the home button and wait. Your recovery should appear. If you just deleted your gapps zip from your SD it would not effect your recovery at all. I think your just caught in a boot loop and your not booting into recovery the correct way. But I'm not sure.let me know if this works. What recovery are you using???

Pull battery, replace battery.
BEFORE POWERING ON DEVICE, press and hold HOME key.
WHILE HOLDING HOME KEY, press and release power button.
WHEN HTC LOGO APPEARS, release HOME key.
You should now be in recovery.

Are you able to boot normally? Or does that get stuck as well?

yeah i can get into cm7 past the logo and everything, i can run rc3, but i cant get into recovery at all trying everything in the past posts

Then just go into ROM Manager and re-flash the recovery.

If I'm not mistaken can't you tell rom manger were to look for the recovery you want to flash?? If so and you have a copy of the recovery on your sd you can flash it.

I am having the same problem...except I never actually got Cyanogen flashed. I rooted my phone. Installed SuperUser to fix permissions. Installed Rom Recovery and flashed the Clockworks Recovery. Then I backed up the Rom and when I went to boot into recovery to flash Cyanogen, I just get the white HTC screen. I get the same issue with manual recovery (holding down home and turning the power on). I can boot normally, but I can't restore my backup or use any other recovery features. Any ideas?

Could just be a bad download. Redownload it and try again. Or it could mean its the wrong type of file. Or the zip needs to be signed.

Help Required!! For the T-Mobile G1

Hi,
I'm really tired from looking and searching and downloading files which are most coruptted or link is not found etc......
I have totally wiped out my HTC T-mobile G1 ...... the only thing i see now is either a big G1 in the middle or when pressing the Camera+Power button just showing a white screen and some writings on the top of the screen and in the middle a yellow line and a (Serial 10 or 01) wittin on it.
so what i did so far is i downloaded almost every file that i been reading about on the posts about the same problem on XDA forums but im still getting the same thing.
i downloaded
DREAIMG.nbh
flashrec-1.1.2-20090909.apk
radio-2.22.27.08.img
recovery-RA-dream-v1.7.0.img
and many other files either old or new versions of the same files
i copy them onto the SDCard and press the cam+power buttons on the screen shows that it does actually loading the files and then it says press the power button to proceed or the green button to cancel but none of the buttons works!?? nothing nada
i would really appriciate your help guys im getting a hard timne fixing this phpne.

k im not 100% on this but im pretty sure you cant flash that 2.22.27.08 radio right off the start when you havent had recovery flashed on yet.. i suggest following this method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DR0HpUVv-BY but read description first because you got to downgradeto 1.5 if your device was on 1.6.. did you try to boot in recovery mode? holding home and power.. what happens when you try that. if i had a lil more info i can help you out..

also were you already rooted before this happened? and if you were do you remember where your device left off before this happened..? radio, hboot, recovery etc...??
what exactly does it say when you power on with camera+power?

Thanks for the quick Reply when i press the home+power button i get the .T..Mobile G1 screen and it freezes there when i prees cam+power i get the 3 skating androind on the bottom of the screen and some writing on the top which it is:

k well first i would suggest the un-root method in that link i put in last reply.. and if that doesnt work than try loading a different hboot (dreaimg.nbh) try to get one that is 2005 or something.. i have one.. the only problem is mine is in a zip file (meant to flash in recovery after root method i posted in previous comment) so you would need to find a different one in .nbh form
P.S. the action key is the trackball (press it in) lol but that doesn't help because its to cancel..

i tried that too but since it says hit alt+s and since nothing si working even after loading the DREAIMG file i think ill take your suggestion downloading an old version of the .nbh file so can u providfe me with a link for it or can we chat on messnger or somthing ?

Also when you are rooting your device or just doing anything to it you always want a sdcard inside. specialy when your attempting to root

wait so did you get the exlamation point screen at all? its like a triangle with an exclamation point and i think a pic of a phone..

no nothing at all it stopps where it shows the loaded file and nothing after that

i mean when your trying to load the update.zip.... what kind of messenger do you have? would make this a lot easier.. lol

so when you hold home and power it always freezes? or do you get to a screen wit the triangle on it?

yeah thats normal you should get that.. the only reason it wouldnt work is if your teying to load the same one thats on already.. try formatting your sd than put it back in your device leaving it empty, than boot up with cam+power and when you get the skateboard guys press and hold green button, red button and menu. that should reboot so you dont have to remove battery... try that than tell me exactly what happens

it stoppes when you try using the dreaimg i posted? are you letting it sit for a minute? it takes a lil bit to start the update..
dood do you have a messenger or something so i can talk to you faster? would make this a lot easier for both of us.. i wanna help you but i gotta leave in like 2 hours lol the way this is goin it could be quick or take long...

At that screen you need to press the red power button for it to update. It's waiting for your action.
