WM 6.5 Solid Xperia

I have searched and found nothing...will there be any developments of a ROM consisting of wm 6.5 and SEUS R3A firmware?
I do not mean R3A with the first leaked R3A goodies, I mean a 6.5 with strictly what is available in the official SEUS R3A...as in everything without any subtractions.
I like wm 6.5, but i also like the default setup of my xperia, i dont like the TF3D, neither do I like the leaked panel manager neither the leaked cam software (due to the fact that after saving a recorded video, it saves in two files and not one)
trying to understand how to cook my own rom is brain cuffuffling, can anyone help me please?
currently have the x1i with SUES R3A generic UK

I saw a 6.5 rom in different tastes: Pure (as close to stock R3A as possible), BB (barebone, stripped from most stuff) and with addons.
It's not even that far down if you look in this subforum: here it is.
There's probably more (recent ones), but just take a strawl along the topics with 6.5 in it and find the rom that suits you best......
I think you'll like roms with names like lite, light, barebone, bb....

Gwystyl...i have seen that thread but it does have the leaked R3A stuff i mentioned, what im looking for is exactly what the current R3A has with wm 6.5 instead of 6.1

Ah, in that case you probably have to cook your own with jerpelea's kitchen and an extracted R3A rom. Good luck with that, and please share if you think it's stable enough!

Use the SYS WM6.5 21500 and ROM/XIP folders from my pure ROM and drop the stock R3A OEM package into the recipe
Launch the new SEX1 Kitchen I upoaded yesterday and have fun
I made it SSE (small, simple and easy)
I will upload the full UK stock Sony Ericsson R3A OEM for you tonight, so you don't have to dump it
PM if you need help

PS: In the mean time, I keep testing SYS build 21728 to see if the two or three minor bugs are soved or inherited from build 21500

thanks for your hard work on the pure R3A/R3A beta/WM6.5 ROMs - perfect combo; I haven't flashed anything but stock so far, but when I get my X1 back from the shop, that's what I will go with.

gtrab...thanks a million for your assistance and all you are doing to help newbies like myself, I will practice cooking now, so when the final 6.5(without the battery icon bug) is released I wont be scrambling

Wm 6.5 rom ?

I'm looking for ROM with WM 6.5 (as final version as possible), which would otherwise work as much as standard Xperia. That means no TouchFlo, with panels, with all standard software, with no non-SE addons. Something I could try and be 'as at home' as soon as possible.
Some 'clean' version with least possible software installed (without panels and other SE addons) could do too.
There is so many roms and most of them have very confusing content description

would not using the se update software not put on 6.5 as a update?

I'm interested in this too, though I wouldn't mind panels.

Not sure if I understand, but no, 6.5 is not part of any official update (I know of).

what i would like to see here on xda is a release note for each build, its ok to cook roms and all but i think it would be much better for a user to know what he/she is updating.
i refuse to cook 6.5 on my x1 for the mere fact that i do not know which build has or will have the battery icon bug as fixed(not just working but the correct position)
so for right now im still on 6.1

I hope SE does an official update.

And by mere fact that WM6.5 ROMs are based on a Beta 6.5 ROM, they are neither complete nor bug-free.

how do you get 6.5? where can you get a bog standard normal rom from for it?

No sign of Manilla anywhere.

I really like the windows mobile 6.5 today screen and the start menu and i want them to run on my 6.1... I know that i can use hard-spl and then install a pure 6.5 rom, but i don't want to mess with my warranty, considering i have 2 years left. So i wonder if there is some application or anything that makes it possible for me to get these functions on my 6.1...
ps... i just installed the x2 panel manager on my 6.1 and with it came the original x2 panels, execpt the today screen... And i saw on pictures that a x1 windows mobile 6.1 ran the windows mobile 6.5 today screen, so it's possible... What you are asking is impossible. If you want 6.5 style start menu you must flash a 6.5 ROM. There are a bunch of built-in dependencies.
If you want an HTC start menu (Which is a very pretty alternative for 6.1 then flash a TF3D (Manila) based 6.1 ROM.
As far as I know there is no cabbed solution for what you are asking. Sorry. Read up on flashing, Hard-SPL, and restoring Soft SPL, and you can safely switch to custom ROMS and revert back to stock if you need to send it in for warranty work. If you do this please read and understand the instructions in the Wiki and/or the Stickies before you attempt.

you can't change the wm shell without changing to a wm6.5 rom
but maybe you can use http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/products/pocketpc/WisBarAdvanceDesktop/
and find a skin which looks kinda like wm6.5
but mind you desktop advanced will be running on top of wm6 and would slow the device down a bit

Okey, i thought it was possible considering that gtrab converted and made it possible for us to use the xperia x2 panel manager and all the other panels...

There is no 6.5 Rom.
Sony never released a official Upgrade for it.

and, as an Sony Ericsson employee from germany said in the official twitter feed last week - there will never be an Upgrade to 6.5(.X).

and, just to clarify: an se-employee told me, there won't be ANY update coming for the x1. this includes the firmware (bugfixing, drivers etc.), "win mobile" is only a part of the rom.
since it almost a year now from the last update, i believe him.

sad to hear that but it's like that. Se now wants to sell newer phones to make profit. And I think thats understandable. But there are good 6.5 Roms in the Rom developement forum, xax41. Almost original =)

i just ordered this phone QUESTIONS

and im totally helpless, there's so much to install and things you can do with this mobile. i ordered a used one, wich already got flashed with another rom and stuff. is this bad? can i recover the original files? is it a good choice to do so, if its possible?
whats the "best" and by that i mean the best working firmware for this mobile?
or the most up to date?
why sould i use the android system if i could use the htc one?
pros/cons?
i have absolutly no idea whats good and whats not.
are there any comparsions online, any newbie threads to read?
there are so many tweaks and roms and fixxed and all the stuff i have no odea what its for.

Well, you cant go wrong with the official Sony Ericsson rom which came with the phone R3A is the latest one. But if you want Windows Mobile 6.5 then flash a custom rom, there are many to choose from in the custom rom section. I cant comment on android on the device because i havent tried it but i'm sure there are a few issues and bugs.
Personally i tried many custom roms but all of them had mini problems which made them bad so the one that worked best for me was the stock one which you can find in the rom section also

I would flash the May 6 ROM from Williyung as a good starting point. It's a completely stable and bug-less 6.5.5 ROM, about as updates as you can get.

What you're going to want to do if you want a STABLE device (free of eye candy) is make sure and stay with a 6.1 rom (official or otherwise).
6.5 has no real advantages that SPB Mobile Shell cant add while keeping your device stable.
(that being said I'm currently running an Energy Rom with 6.5)

826x clean 6.5.5 ROMs by Williyung are 100% stable. I have NEVER had to reset. There are bugless.

Its not 6.5 thats the issue... its programs running ON 6.5
