Hi, you can add new locations using Menu (in te right bottom) pressing Add New Location, this will re- direct you to the AccuWeather page, where u can select by country and city, anywhere, many cities are not listed, so you have to make an approximation to another near yours. Besides, you have to get a Wi Fi connection or a date plain by your cell provider, and obviously, be connected at the moment. Greetings

This is only possible if your city is in the list.

How can i change the weather to my city and not a major city??
you have got to start using the search feature lol
http://www.pocketemu.com/download4.html
yea i had that installed on my phone before i even posted this thread. I went to weather tab, and chose custom on the dropdown. Clicked Enter New City.
City, State: Marlboro, NJ
Country: US
Zip/Location code: 07746
And clocked save city to custom database. Went to the home screen and Marlboro comes up (at least it appears) on the weather tab but cannot get the temperatures. Whats a location code?

Zip/Location Code: 07746/USNJ0293 ?
I'm curious as well...
Just flashed Shap's 4.31 rom and entering my city using the Advanced Config app doesn't work. If I select from a city on the list...no problem.
Using HHC 0.8 or 1.0 doesn't work for me either.
I'm in Asheville, NC 28806.

Just build a new city with the location code only and give it your city name!
Location Code Asheville, NC: USNC0022
that doesnt work :/

I thought I pop in too. My weather tab just doesn't seem to work no matter what city I choose, I've just got a big blank space where the weather should be and am going mad trying to find out what to do.
guess we'll just have to use accuweather.com
where do you get the location codes from?
well I answered my own question and found the location code. Still doesnt work though. I did the soft reset, but it still won't find the weather for my city. Any ideas?
Here is how I did it, worked on my first try.
(These instructions are United States specific)
Browse to: http://weather.yahoo.com/
And enter the city name or zip code that you wish to view the weather for.
Note the location code in the URL that you are directed to, for example:
http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USKY0919.html
Install the HTC Home Customizer to your device. It will be found under:
Start\Programs\HTC Home Customizer
Navigate to the "Weather" tab and do this:
change "Database Type:" to "Custom"
click "Enter New City"
enter "City, ST"
enter "US" for the United States
enter "USKY0919" in "Location Code", change this value to match your location
click "Save City to Custom Database"
Reboot
Followed those steps exactly, still get Unable to retrieve data for selected city, Select here to retry. For what it's worth, I tried a major city, like Orlando and got the same results. Is there some setting that I have misconfigured that would prevent this?

....we appreciate your help here but...it's NOT
http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USKY0919.html
rather http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USNY0996.html for your New York, NY location, USKY0919 would be Frankfort,KY....Just so no-one gets cornfuzzled....btw...I tried Yahoo weather with dewitt,ky 40930 and got "USKY0833" and put in the custom DB....nada...
I've got a Cingular 8125 upgraded to TNT.1921 TouchFlo 10MB PAGE POOL just for reference.
Thanks for your help..I'm sure it was just a typo...let's all see if we can get this +)(&)#(&+%#!ing thing working!!!....grin

Did you not understand what I wrote? I wrote this as general instructions for the US, hence the:
"Note the location code in the URL that you are directed to, for example:"
and
"enter "USKY0919" in "Location Code", change this value to match your location"
Change cities in HTC HOme weather
Read this Post and it should solve your problem. Kevin

thanks for that. I ended up installing the 3-tab version of HTC Home and edited the xml weather file to add Rochester and now it works. Although the weather doesnt seem to be very accurate but at least its in the ballpark of my real weather. Thanks again!
hey guys kind of a newb to this. just got my tilt today but been fallowing these forums for a week or so. got l26 kaiser diamond v4 installed with slide 2 lock without a hitch but was rushing through the set up and forgot to convert the weather from celsius to fahrenheit and being the dumb american i am i dunno wtf a celsius is =p. been scanning my phone and the forums for hours looking for a way to change this. is there a way too without installing htc home customizer (my active sync stoped working on me for some reason ) thanks for your help in advanced and sorry if im posting this in the wrong spot and if i am would someone be so kind to link me in the right direction thanks
I can't find my city on my weather display and I've noticed other peoples themes here here shows the city AND state where mine only shows a nearby city and country origin...Is there a program or anything out there to help me get my city and state..
Thanks in advance
This is under the HTC Home settings?
Ive never had a problem with the HTC Home settings with my city.
Try installing HTC Home Customizer and see if it helps.
HTC weather does not have a very extensive list, it doesn't show my town (Redwood Valley, 115 miles north of San Francisco), in fact it doesn't show any towns north of Santa Rosa, like Ukiah, Lakeport and Eureka. Santa Rosa is 70 miles south of me, so their weather is often a lot different than ours, so I use programs like Weather Watch and Weather Bug, Weather Bug has the information from a school right here (Eagle Peak Middle School) in Redwood Valley.

Hi,
just noticed that where the Kaiser downloads the weather for us here in Australia is often wrong. Is there a way that I can get the weather information from http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDS10034.shtml and to display it in the "Weather" section?
Don't know about BOM but you can get the weather from the Age newspaper if you're using SPB Weather (or SPB Traveller or something, I'm confused) using a script written by Andrew Kirkland (AndrewK). Found it somewhere on another board. Try googling the name, or look through the SPB support area. Just can't remember exactly where I saw it. It's accurate if you d/load in the morning but a day out if you D/L in PM! Don't know about native HTC app (is there a weather app in WM or HTC?).
Hope that helps (and I haven't confused you too!).

Where/how is it "wrong"? I am a weather junkie and often cross compare BOM's current condition http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDN60901/IDN60901.94767.shtml with the results on my phone...
The only time it is "wrong" is due to rounding off the decimal or a case of timing
SPB Weather or Traveller as mentioned before allows for diffeent locations, However the "Age Script" is not much use.
I have shortcuts to BOM's rain radar and to the above link and access them regularly... HTC weather is to make my phone pretty and give me current conditions at a glance
so i recieved my viva today and so far i love it. but on the weather tab i cannot get it to pull up where i live. i got a city pretty close but not the exact one i want. am i missing something, i click add location type in city, state and hit select and i either get a random city or one i did not want. i tried zipcode but it failed too.
in which city/state do you live? So I can try in mine and let you know how it goes...
vine grove ky , or radcliff ky
Hey, the problem seems to be that the city is not in the database of the touchflo2d.
Actually neither Radcliff nor Vine Grove are in the accuwheater & HTC database.
What the application does is perform a query like this:
http://htc.accuweather.com/widget/htc/forecast-data_v3.asp?ac=TR2cra9U&locCode=NAM|US|NY|NEW YORK
If the result is a nice, long xml then you will see the data in the wheather tab.
If you see
<weather>
<copyright>2009 AccuWeather, Inc All Rights Reserved.</copyright>
<usage>HTC Pocket PC Weather Forecast</usage>
</weather>
You wont
What you might want to do is replace the last parameters with some other combination of cities that might work. I have already tried
NAM|US|KY|VINE GROVE
NAM|US|KY|RADCLIFF
NAM|US|KY|FORT KNOX
NAM|US|KY|RADCLIFF
NAM|US|KY|IRVINGTON
Without luck... Please give it a try with some other cities (I just searched in wikipedia which cities are near you, I live in Argentina so you might probably have a better idea )
when you find a city with returns results, go to the windows folder in your phone and find the file: HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml
Copy it to your desktop, edit it and add a line like
<city name="Vine Grove, KY, US" loca="NAM|US|KY|VINE GROVE" land="United States"/>
(this one won't work, I have already tried that in my phone just to be sure, sorry).
Save it (is read only so you should change that before saving), and take it back to your phone.
Disable Touchflo from the Today settings, enable it again and that should be it
Best of luck!
ill give it a try tonight after work or maybe tomorrow before work. right now i got the city louisville on their. its not to far away lol
Cool, let me know how it goes!
do any of the chef know what package are required to make the My Location Weather Clock to work?
It's actually more simple than that. Download this radio:
4.49.25.17 - Rapidshare Mirror - HTC
This allows you to use 3G to get the "My Location." Previous radios only allowed for "Edge" updates to your location.
Actually, turn off 3G so that only Edge is working and try to update your location (with your current radio).
But after this you can't update through Edge anymore only 3G...
my location
Hello;
If you mean seeing weather info and animation in the home screen instead of My location , easily click on the watch and it will direct you to world clock Then choose your state instead of my location. But be sure that you have already added your city from the weather screen. Then go back and back then hope it works
It seems that this feature is confusing people rather than being usefull, a solution was proposed here but for some reason did not work on my set.
The bad news is that GSMarena.com are saying that the location is locked from the first startup and can't be changed (details), if so, there should be a registry key to fix the issue, right?
I don't think you guys understand my question. what I'm asking is what packages do I need to get the My Location Weather Clock to work. I got it figured out. thanks anyway.

Are you still running the Clean Stock ATT ROM? If so, how did you get the weather to show on the home page? I too have been trying to figure this out. Thank you in advance.
