can they be watch on the phone through any browsers? I thought the opera mini would be able to since it is a java based browser but it didn't for me, still told me I didn't have the right plugin or java turned on.
any ideas?
i have yet to get anything besides PIE working with youtube. Opera Mini works inside of the java VM, and Picsel and Opera Mobile just don't work.
You should really use the search feature.
However.
I can view full Youtube videos using TCPMP and FLV bundle. If I click on a youtube link in PIE then TCPMP opens and starts playing automagically. PIE will open 3gp videos in Streaming Media from m.youtube.

this is the link for unlimited video with youtube on our phones
thanks for the info
when i tried to go to youtube in PIE it loads up the program but always give me the error media type not supported
I am going to try the instruction on the link when I get home from work.
anyone got the above method working on a Vario 3 on T-mobile UK web and walk basic? think they might be restricting it somehow.
Try using vTap, it's free and REALLY good in my opinion (it's all in one so you watch the video inside the app, not with external program - although it actually uses tcpmp, but it's embedded)
edit: and it uses less bandwidth (can choose between 4 settings combining normal/better audio, normal/better video... aaah you'll see, it's really great)

Works fine over wi-fi edit: also works fine over 3G HSPDA
I have searched the site and found a bunch of threads on viewing you tube vids, however there are so many post edits etc. that I can't follow which .cab etc we are supposed to be using.
I have downloaded that TCMP and the new version of flashget but still no luck.
Can someone that has a tilt please post what they are using and if it works on this thread - many thanks!!!!
I simply go the mobile version of you tube (m.ca.youtube.com). When I click on a video link the HTC Streaming application (which came with my Kaiser) starts up and plays the video. That simple.
Two notes, however;
1) Over my WiFi connection I need to configure my wifi router to put my Kaiser in the "DMZ - Demilitarized Zone" so as to allow full access to the internet. Otherwise the RTSP streaming fails and the HTC Streaming application complains about an inability to access the connection.
2) Streaming doesn't work over GPRS for me. This is most likely due to my cell phone carrier not allowing full internet access (much like when I don't have my WiFi router configured to put my Kaiser in the DMZ).
To use the "proper" YouTube, as opposed to the mobile version, you need these two .cabs:

I have both of these intstalled with duttys rom ver 4 and I still get the "failed to find network" error in streaming media when using 3g att or wifi. I used to have no problem streaming vids (besides it being really slow and chopy) over att when I was using an older duttys touchflo 6 for att.
I searched too but all I found was some blurbs about youtube changing addressed and wifi in DMZ mode (which neither seemed to apply)
but I am a tard so who knows...

Sorry I meant Flashlite...my error
I downloaded those two files that the previous poster suggested, still no luck. I also tried the HTC streaming file - installed that - still no luck
Is anyone really watching you tube vids or is this whole thing some sort of practical joke that I haven't been let in on - LOL
I'm not a noob by any means, I just can't seem to get this to work.
Figures too - because AT&T just "turned on" the 3G network today in my area - I now have very fast internet speeds, but no you tube (

Nothing happens when I click on a vid on the mobile site - it just sits there (Opera mini) doesn't show loading - nothing.
On the desktop one it says I either don't have flash enabled, or I need the newest version - which I have
I appreciate you helping me with this - I'm sure I am not alone on this issue 0 judging by what I'm reading here
ah, try using internet explorer
Follow these steps & pay attention...
Dude, Seriously...You may have read the thread, but you really need to pay attention to what you read. FLASHGET??? FLASH LITE??? Both of these have NO IMPACT on playing flash video.
What you need is:
(A) TCPMP either .72 or .81 (You said you have)
(B) FlasVideoBundle
Instal This:
http://rapidshare.com/files/87945596/FlashVideoBundle.CAB
After installing, make sure that the following files were all copied to the TCPMP root directory (i.e. For .72 \Programs\TCPMP or \Storage Card\Programs\TCPMP or for .81 \Programs\TCPMP\Player):
DiagVL.exe
DisableVL.exe
flvffmpeg.plg
flvsplitter.plg
MenuToggle.exe
VideoLoader.dll
These files must be in the TCPMP directory! It should do it automatically if you use .72. However, for .81 you must copy the files by hand.
After insuring the files have been coppied to the right directory, then launch TCPMP & go to preferences & set the file associations for the flash video, i.e. flv)
Note: without the current version of FlashBundle Youtube will no longer work. I have attached the most current version to the link above.
AND YES, you must use either PIE or (OPERA Mobile 8.65 (NOT MINI) with the macromedia flash player 7).

Dude, excuse the hell out of me...when neither the TCPMP and flashvideo bundle worked - someone suggested flash lite so I installed that as well...I don't think I EVER read where you couldn't use opera mini - thank you to you guys for pointing that out. I will try what you just posted, thanks for taking the time to help someone who obviously "didn't pay attention to what I read"
I can provide some insight, although I really new at this. I installed both cabs and can view all youtube videos through a portal site called ytpocket.com, using the search field at the top. This does not address the larger issue of how to play streaming flash videos from other websites. Specifically, on real youtube, I get the error message "youtube swf args not found" and the title bar of the error message is "VideoLoader." I have no idea what this means.
I also can't get the m.youtube.com site to play videos becuase the Real Player doesn't recognize 3gp files, and my attempts to associate these files with TCMP have apparently failed.
Hope this helps and hope someone smarter than me can solve these two problems! Thanks all.
dt, for the mobile youtube, install htc streaming media
Well, I'm slightly confused. I searched, didn't find anything in particular for what I'm asking.
Anyways, as I was reading, wasn't Windows Mobile 6.1 supposed to support flash in browser, ale to view all the websites with flash and the such? I just upgraded to the 6.1 open touch and the rom, while really quick and enjoyable, doesn't seem to have that feature BUILT IN. I thought it was native to 6.1. Am I wrong? Did they lie, or can you guys just not implement it yet? Because according to videos I've seen, not only can you view all the videos of flash, but you can also zoom similar to the iphone..which I can't seem to be able to do either.
the ability to view flash in the browser is not explicitly included in WM6.1
rather, the videos of people watching youtube probably include the TCPMP's flash bundle or some other 3rd party software
Hello and welcome to the forum.
If you want to view youtube videos on your XDA, Simple press the upcoming link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2061081&postcount=1
This is the TCPMP that Fzzyrn was talking about. With this application you can view youtube videos.
Go to youtube.com on your XDA and simply search for a video you want to view. Click on the picture to view the video.
A pop up box will appear, Tap on view video and TCPMP will appear and your able to view the video.
Hope this helps
Hi brothers & sisters,
Recently, I tried surfing youtube with my kaiser and using Opera 9.
But whenever I tried to view a video, it says either I do not have the latest flash player or my java script has not been enabled.
I downloaded the latest flash player 7 and my java script has been enabled, but still I am unable to view.
This applies to some of the application in facebook and other website.
What is the missing plugin?
What should I do?
You help and advices are very much appreciated..
Thank you!!!

I tried http://www.htc.com/www/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=13&act=all but still unable to find that plugin.
You won't get a plugin for OPERA as of yet!
OPERA states clearly on their BETA notice that "Browser plug-ins are disabled by default due to non-existent or incomplete system" and "Flash plugins and embedded video streaming do not work."
http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/download/
You will have to wait for a later BETA Release or for the final (commercial) version!
As already suggested by jvfowlerjr, you can use the STREAMING MEDIA PLAYER - easiest way of doing it:
Open Pocket IE, switch its view to SINGLE COLUMN, go to YOUTUBE - enjoy! The SMP will start automatically each time you click on a video.
Ok, so I am trying to stream videos from youtube through pocket IE, but every time I go to open a video, it opens in mobile real player. How do I redirect it to open in htc smp, so I can actually watch videos?
try as follow:
TCPMP0.72RC1 with FlashVideoBundle (search forums for thoose) and you will able to play streaming from IE.
If you are located in United States - then try Skyfire browser.
And next time....
SEARCH! It has been covered bazillion times.
I hit search and was directed to this. I am in the US, and do use skyfire, but it's a pain in the ass when you can simply boot up piocket ie with your homepage set to mobile youtube. I' assuming then a tilt can not do it this way, or...?
Yes, it can!
I am not sure what ROM you're running on your device? The factory WM6.1 HTC shipped ROM has the streaming media player integrated.
I have somewhere a CAB installer (taken from a ZINC II) but I am not sure if that would run on WM6.0. I also don't know if you would have to extract the CAB and copy it manually to your Tilt due restrictions in the installer (as I said: it is taken from the ZINC II on WM6.1), however, getting it on there shouldn't be hard to do! If you want to give it a try, the file is attached below!
Sorry, I had to pack it in a ZIP file, the FORUM UPLOADER did not accept it as CAB - simply extract, copy to your device and try to install! If the installation does not work, get a CAB EXTRACTOR and extract the CAB file, then copy the content to your device.
If I am violating some copyrights, please drop me a line and I gladly will remove the attached file! It is the official ArcSoft Streaming Media Player without the HTC branding. Since this player is integrated in every official WM6.1 release (which is available for all TYTN II's) I don't think that posting the file is against copyrigths.
First, click on the link in my Signature to get you the easiest and best Searching results.
Sercond, What you are looking for in Opera 9.5 is Flash 3.1, So use the plug in search for "Flash 3.1 Phouki Opera".
That should anwser all your problems when you find that thread at Development ande Hacking forum..
Cheerz, Good Luck,
PS: Flash Works.
Hey guys, If I'm in the wrong area, I apologize.
I was wondering if there was a better youtube app for the HTC Fuze. The native youtube app, and the google youtube app are nice, but they do not play the full range of videos available on youtube, (ex. try looking up the music videos for "What you got" by Colby O'donis, or "Dangerous" by Kardinal Offishall, forgive my taste in music). You will not be able to find the music videos for these songs like you would on a desktop computer.
I've tried Coreplayer, and WVD player, but they either take a really long time searching or there is great difficulty finding videos.
I know this sounds funny but I'm quite surprised that there is difficulty for flash videos on winmo. I have a psp, and the youtube app is amazing (you also have the ability to go to other video hosting websites). Is there a youtube app that is equivalent to a desktop computer or the psp?
Thank you for your time.
ive been a bit dissapionted also in the phone because i tell everyone how much better the touch pro is than the iphone and then it cant do high quality youtube videos. please someone prove me wrong
if you go to the settings icon at the top and hit high quality instead of fast speed they look pretty damn good....
Yeah but if you're running a stock ROM the video skips because it can't process or keep the video and audio in sync..don't know what causes the problem. Not sure if that happens on cooked ROMs though
Have you tried coreplayer 1.3.2 youtube section after pressing views. It has settings out the a**! Hi,Lo,3g,FLV,H264 720p. Beautiful!! Try that if you havent!
But coreplayer is a commercial app, it is not free
btw I tried this software but was unable to make it work for youtube, it never finds anything...
