Help! I can't send SMS - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I Have an Xperia X1 that came with WM 6.1. I flashed a Touch-it Xperience WM 6.5 build 23047 and installed SPB mobie shell 3.5 and now I can not send SMSs. I can receive them all right but if I try to answer a msg or write a new one, the To: field is empty and I am not able to put the cursor there nor in the text field. When I quit, it asks me if I want to save the msg in the draft folder. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Help is much appreciated. Thank you.

WinMo 6.1 HTC Smart Dialer Help

Need some help or advise on a missing feature on 6.1 standard smart dialer that existed on 6.0.
On 6.0 once you search for a contact using the smart dialer if you press down the on the d-pad it will not dial the contact but will open up the contact so you can email or txt pretty quickly. That was way faster than opening up contacts and searching for someone. If you wanted to call just had to press the SEND button.
But on 6.1 when you press the d-pad down it simply dials and the only way to txt is to touch and hold on the search result and even then it will only allow you to text but not email.
I was wondering whether there's a reg hack to get this feature enabled on the new 6.1 smart dialer.
just d-pad down to the contact and d-pad right until u see txt
Thanks for the quick reply but D-Pad left or right will only cycle through the numbers nothing else
hmm are u sure...i'm not doubting just tryin to help
but for me lets say i have a mobile and home number for a contact i just highlight it and on the right it shows m for mobile..i d-pad right to h for home and again to txt if i wanna text the contact
I know you are and thank you
I am quite confused now because I had the same feature (D-Pad right to text and hold down to open contact) on 6.0 are you also using 6.1 and the same dialer build?
i'm using winmo 6.1 i'm trying to find out what build i'm using
Same problem here. With WM6.0 you only have to press the d-pad to open the contact. Once you opened, i got the chance to send sms, send e-mail or make a call. With WM6.1 this ist missing! I think this is probably only a value i have to change in the registry, but where?
If you use the original WM6.1 dialer instead of the Touch dialer it will do exactly what you are looking for.
For some reason when I press the down on my d-pad with the Touch dialer it opens up the last call list, and does not scroll through the contacts list.
I see your in CA so video dial is not really a possibility anyways. If you have KaiserTweak or Shap's Advance Config, set your dialer skin to the WM6.1 dialer instead and see if this fixes your problem.
I flashed the original HTC WM6.1 Rom, and yes, the original WM6.1 Dialer works how i want. But this doesn't look really great, does it?
I am now using DxC dialer with smart dial patch and is working great. Only thing missing is the smart dial in landscape mode. This one is way faster but still miss the HTC dialer :-(
It is only a little vaue in the registry, can't nobody help?
Nobody out there who can solve this problem ?
Perhaps somebody can upload the smart dialer exe file from the oroginal WM6.0 Rom? I would be glad, thx !!
Can please, somebody with WM6.0, look up in his registry an tell me the value's for Smart Dialer ? So i can compare the two version with each other. THX
Push,
something new?

Contact Problem with SMS Inbox

Hi everyone!
I have problem with my XDA Diamond:
When I recieve a SMS, let's call the sender Paul, then go to "Contacts" and change Pauls name into "James", the SMS Inbox still displays Paul as the senders name!
The same thing when i recieve a SMS by an unknown Contact: Adding him to my Adressbook doesn't even seems to have any effect, i still only see the NUMBER, not the name....
Anyone familair with this issue?! I need HELP!
Or maybe can anyone with Bepe's Rom 0.95 try it on his Diamond and post his conclusion?
Some Facts:
- O2 XDA Diamond
- Bepe's Rom 0.95

HTC TyTn II, WM 6.1, SMS Problem

Hi there, I hope somebody can help me with the following annoying problems on WM 6.1 after upgrade from WM 6.0. When I type a new SMS using the sliding keyboard my contacts suggestions box is coming up, but it is either blank or with few weird characters in random positions in the box, if I use the on screen keyboard the contacts box is ok. The same happens with the words suggestions box in the body of the SMS. Also when I send the SMS I always get a message that the selected contact was not found and if I would like to try to send the SMS any way and after selecting "yes" the SMS actually goes trough. I am a professional software developer, so any technical questions are welcome.

SMS strange Characters

Heres the thing, I have upgraded my palm treo 750(att) from 6.1 to 6.5. the only problem i have really had is the threaded sms. Ultimately whatever sms app that came with mobile 6.5 works for all intents and purposes but there are these annoying characters that show
here is an example:
☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
(913) - 000-0000
hey how are you?
☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐ (1:45 pm) (913) - 000-0001
fine thanks ☐☐☐
it kinda goes like that. with the boxes appearing randomly between bits of text. any help?
please email me with any help: [email protected]
P.S. i already tried shogun threaded SMS no help there

SMS errors when responding from manila 2.1

This is in the rom section because it is a rom related issue.
using both dutty's 3.4 and 6.5 R1, and also topix with manila 2.1 I get an immediate response with an "InvalidPduContent" error when i try to respond to a message via the manila threaded sms. i can send messages from standard winmo sms.
I have AT&T. I get the same error on both the Telstra T8285 and the T8282. I looked into the error futher and it seems it can be a problem with the following:
"to" field is being interpreted wrong. when i send a message to someone via manila, i check the "sent items" folder and the to field looks like this:
"Last, First" <14405551212>
the above is the only format that fails.
if i send a new message via manila (no existing conversation), it only shows the person's number in the To field like this:
(440) 555-1212
using default winmo sms it looks like this:
Last, First
has anyone found a solution to this issue other than disabling the manila sms portion? Hopefully this sheds some new light on the situation
I have the same issue. I dont know what is causing it but hopefully someone will fix it. I prefer using the manila for sms as it's alot nicer but for now it's back to the old, ah well...
I see what you mean as well with the incorrect format issue. It is appearing, on face value, to be interpreted as an email address not a phone number. If you get on e of the failed messages and click on the name that's what it's coming back with but the messages that went through ok when the number is clicked it goes straight to the Manila contact.
its a bug in the manila, newer versions works perfect, bud if someone know a solution,i have the same issue...
I had this problem also, then flashed Lost In Asia, v4 (v5 now) and had no problems. The fact that when you clicked to reply to a message, by default goes to the new manila sms system meant that these roms weren't an option for me. Try Lost In Asia if you have time, see if it solves your problem.
I had a Italian ROM (NextGen 1.7) and I no have this problem.
does nobody have a solution for this please
Some User Set Their SMS Sending Option To GSM , And The SMS Bug FIX For Them , Try This .
This is also being discussed in Dutty 3.6 thread. He gathered some information about provider, country etc.
It seems that T-Mobile and Orange suffer the most from this problem.
One solution could be that you add +AREACODE to the contact.
Dutty's V3.7 will be online soon and contain a small updated Manila. Have to see if this still has the same problem.
i work with topix 2.0 rc1 and have the sms issue, yesterday i have unlocked my hd with olipro tool, with the sms issue i can't send whitin manila and can't send to special numbers like the radio etc...
today i tryed again and the sms issue is completly gone!i dont understand bud maybe someone does?
is it because of the radio?the sim unlock or security, cid,i dont know.
maybe this info will help to solve the issue.
Been discussed in great detail on Duttys thread and it appears to be a mixture of unicode, location and carrier. However it has also been fixed on Duttys latest rom V3.7
