Hi people,
I recently decided to update my touch diamond to wm6.5.
Already got HardSPL 1.93 some time ago together with the swift rom.
Now I downloaded this rom:
BOGYSOFT WM6.5 Build 23060
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552162
And followed the instructions carefully, put the rom on the internal storage and started the update process as usual.
After it had finished installing I already noticed it took the phone way to long to completely boot into windows.
After a few reinstalls I finally got it to work but it was very slow and often I couldnt even unlock the damn thing.
At this point I cant even get into windows anymore.
Now ofcourse I want this rom removed from my phone, but is that even possible when I cant boot it into windows??
I need to have an USB connection to put on another rom, so is that possible without windows?
Thanks for your help!
I got the same problem. anybody help us?
I had a problem with an earlier version of this ROM, and the fix turned out to be quite simple.
I flashed my stock ROM back on and then re-flashed BOGYSOFT, ever since then been no problems what so ever.
I had flashed a few different ROM's to try before this it's possible I suppose that there may of been some corruption with repeated flashing.
I think the hardspl is affecting the phone's stability, cause returned back to the stock after flashing some cooked roms and it's bad more than before.....
any news?

Yes but dont you need to acces the phones internal storage to add a new rom?
Cause I dont know how to do that when I'm not even able to acces windows.
Anybody?
Is my phone bricked or is there a way to connect to the internal storage without WM?
Now it doesnt even boot the rom anymore,
The image has even dissapeared from my internal storage.
It is now stuck in the Bootloader telling me to trigger the USB host.
Any ideas?
My Diamond has been pretty unreliable over the last couple of days, but I used MTTY to format the internal flash, loaded the latest Gen.Y ROM (I don't think it really matters which ROM tho) and now it works perfectly again. Plus to me it seems a bit faster. Anyway I couldn't be happier.
If you can get into the bootloader with USB I'd certainly give the instructions in this flash a go (post 3 or 4 only if you're on Windows XP).

thanks mate!

ok i had explodes rom on my xda2s and it froze, nothing could be done to make it work. so i reverted back to the 2003 software all was fine ,a week later i thaught i give helmi rom ago the vanilla rom, installed ok same problem boots up into the windows mode an the device locks up any ideas?
You might be running out of space. Are you installing a lot of applications, maybe even perhaps to the RAMDISK?
it was a fresh install no apps. except what was in the rom update unless i need to format the hidden roms first mabe theres to much on them i never altered the size unless xplodes rom does it for you.
Some days ago, i've flashed my phone to get an "up-to-date" ROM. I chose "PDACornerIllusion 21139" of 2009.03.06. All went fine excepting the keyboard of my GPS wont work anymore (dunno why of course), so i re-flashed with another ROM.
I was surprised that my phone kept the CornerIllusion BootScreen, but i didnt care.
All of a sudden, after having soft reset the ROM i chose (the 2nd one), for an installation of some proggie. The ROM restart as brand new asking me to reset the screen, the clock, date etc... losing all my content and customizations. Then i couldnt sync with Outlook after the first sync i've done minutes ago (error code 800004005). I've decided to soft-reset the phone, and now, TF3D wont even start, (it selft tries to start several times, then gives up), AND the programs lists is all broken, no shortcuts left and the games folder is named *h1/4Eg+รง^, nothing works anymore.
I flashed with about 4 roms (including Aztor one), resulting in the same mess.
Does it have something to do with the first one "PDACornerIllusion 21139" and its still remaining BootScreen?
Can i flash my phone from its roots, to get rid of this ?
As it's maybe not the "fault" of PDACornerIllusion, i write this in this section of the Diamond general thread and made a double post at PDACornerIllusion development thread
I suggest you perform a hard reset before flashing any new rom and that you use the traditional "flash-from-PC-using-ActiveSync-connection" method to flash.
And above all I wish you luck!
What was the other ROM you flashed? I am curious.
rondol1 suggests you hard reset prior to flashing a new rom. I suggest you hard reset after flashing a new rom. Net result is probaby much the same. You could even just do a hard reset now with whatever is loaded and things will probably improve. Main thing is...whenever you flash a rom do a hard reset straight after loading it. I always do this religiously and with the exception of one recent rom I tried I have never had a problem.
First of all, thank you both for trying to suggest hints, i really appreciate it.
I've never hard reset the ROM before or after having installed a new one. I never have a problem before.
For the last 2 months, i was on NEON 1.28, then i've decided it was time to update seeing the new features of the more up-to-date ROMs
I've just reflashed it (an hour ago) with PDACornerIllusion 21139, i've hard reseted before and after. let's see how it turns out ....
I've tried NATALY, CLOUDY, MORNA & AZTOR, no luck with any of them, all died after a soft reset or after the 1st sync (reconnecting for a 2nd sync).
Maybe the problem comes from the very root of the phone (like BIOS in a PC, dunno), maybe something in there got corrupted. How to repair it if my guess exists and is it repairable?

There in lies the problem.
I bet you will be fine from now on. Don't ask why you need to do the hard reset - as no one has been able to give a definitive answer - But it is a well known step that many chefs recommend post flash - just do it from now on and you wont regret it.

completely agree with logger - hard reset after you flash any ROM. I haven't used PDACorner - so can't say for sure... but do the flash via CustomRUU once... when the new ROM is flashed... do a hard reset as soon as it's complete..
good luck!
let's see then, >>>>crossing fingers<<<<
I've had this happen a lot lately as well. Might have something to do with the newer SYS? Anyway, hard reseting hasn't always fixed it for me. However, flashing back to the Sprint stock ROM (or HTC stock for you GSM guys) then flashing a new custom ROM has always done the trick. Maybe because the stock ROMs are bigger and "clean" out the memory somehow? At any rate, flash stock and then you're good to go. No permanent damage.
no luck, after a 2nd soft-reset, the phone is asking "touch the screen to configure for the 1sy use blablabla", all data's lost again & again...
what do you mean by stock Rom ? the rom that came with my phone when i've bought it ?
I've got the same problem with the Diamond rebooting like a hard-reset. But I always did a hard-reset after a fresh install. I blamed it on the rom and tried several others, including donsalari's "Clean Basic Rom", the Gen.Y Sense 2.1 and 2.5 versions and an older Aztor rom. Same problem every time, the first reboot after changing the device locale works fine, then I set the whole phone up properly and on the next reboot it will come up as if had performed a hard reset.
Additionally, the file system on my internal storage got corrupted somehow, had to reformat. At some point, I also had the impression that data on the phone memory got lost gradually. First the Contact's numbers got replaced by some nonsense characters, then there were numbers and contacts missing, and finally I had no contacts at all. ActiveSync stopped working so I was in the middle of a trip without my phonebook...
I've got two hypotheses:
1) The Gen.Y bootloader messed with the phone (Had tried the Sense 2.5 Gen.Y rom before donsalari's)
2) Flash controller or Flash itself is broken
@dunnno: I suggest you rename the thread to something like "diamond hard-resets on 2nd reboot after rom install"
edit: oops, just realised I resurrected a very old thread... Maybe there's a fix already?
My diamond still suffers from this problem. I tried it again and again with different roms but everytime, at some point all my configuration is lost and the diamond reboots like after a fresh install. Can anyone please help?
I'm having this problem as well :|
Grr, I have to rely on my phone for so much, but it just doesn't want to work correctly.
Help is immensely appreciated.
Well, I got mine to work, I just flashed the stock HTC ROM and everything has gone back to normal. H3PO, I suggest you give that a shot if you are still having problems.
I had these problems when I first started flashing my Diamond with custom roms.
Now I always flash my carrier stock rom first, then hard reset, then flash custom rom, then hard reset and I never have any problems. I have no idea why flashing the stock rom first stops the problems but I haven't had any problems with the dozens of roms I've flashed using this method.
Also I always flash from internal storage, but others prefer using MTTY
I still have some problems with the Contact Database, but flashing some stock O2 Rom solved the "reboot as new" problem.
Hello Guys,
I am thinking about Flashing back to my original ROM that came with my Xperia. I tried other ROMs, primarily Itje's, and they are just brilliant, but I am not sure how they be used as everyday ROMs. The Touch-IT 4.5 has the battery leakage issue, some SMS issue, and I really don't like the new Start Menu thing with TouchFlo. Even though they have a fix with for the Start Menu thing, you lose the Programs tab, since the new TouchFlo is not meant to be like that. I understand that there must be more solutions for that ROM, but I will be honest, even after reading as much as possible AND searching, it's just so impossible to go through those 100s of pages.
I also tried the WM 6.5 Beta ROM. Again, excellent work on Itje's part, but I just don't think I am ready for WM 6.5 yet. It's just not stable and that is understandable since it's BETA.
Anyway, with that said, since I am not very experienced with Flashing, I had a question. What happens to a phone if the ROM image (Kovsimg.nbh) that is chosen to Flash the phone with, from an SD Card, is corrupt? Does the phone get stuck in the middle of everything, and the phone ends up as a brick, or are there any ways to prevent this from happening?
I am just asking this because I am not certain... the ROM I backed up COULD be corrupt, I mean I don't know. There were no errors when I backed it up, and followed the tutorial with no problems.
Any help is appreciated, thank you very much guys!
I just got out of that situation. Tried flashing by micro sd way. Took out batt and micro sd, then used the USB flashing tool to flash a new rom.
Thanks for your response, dadeadman, but after reading your reply, I am a bit more confused (Sorry). Please correct me if I am wrong, but are you saying that you tried Flashing with the SD, it was unsuccessful (for whatever reason), you then took out your battery and the SD Card, and Flashed it through USB using the RUU Flashing tool? If this is correct, then can you explain how the phone even connects to the computer with an OS (ROM) on it? I would assume that if the flashing process gets corrupt, the phone ends up with no bootable OS, right?
Sorry for the confusion, I hope it made sense .
You have to put it in bootloader mode then connect the usb. The white bottom portion of the bootloader screen will say USB, though the mobile device cnetre/activesync cannot detect. However you are still able to flash a working rom with the RUU Flashing tool.

Nice, thanks a lot for your reply man, that makes me feel much better !
Hello,
Im here to get some idea before bringing my phone to htc.
I installed a lot of roms but two days ago I got a strange behaviour from my device:
when I install something on the device the phone became unstable but this is not predictable at all! , doing a softreset will just work as an "hard reset" because the loader behaves like the first time (all the installation stuff), and last time it just freeze up.
My iphotesis is that some RAM areas are working wrong givin such as behaviour. Ive changed my sd too but...nothing.
Another thing is that trying to format my sd from my htc always I get "the card is damaged cannot format" or something like that!
I would love to have a diagnostic tool to check the Flash Ram and/or ROM.
I don't know...really this thing is starting to boring me...
Let me know
Alex
look for blacdiag.nbh in this forum, this is the diagnostic tool and it might help you knowing where is the problem.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
I did the test and the result is....nothing. RAM is ok, as well as all the other things.
I get an alert for the SPL checksum because it looks for OEMSPL and I haven't.
I was wondering about the fact that doing a format FAT (using the tool) could solve my issues. The device storage have to be FAT Formatted isn't? If so, I always tought that doing and Hard Reset meant formatting the memory...was I wrong?
Let me know!
Alex
...so far....
I was wrong, no way to get rid off this issue...!
I reflashed the original rom, radio and spl...
I will test if it is a software-related issue...
Anyway one thing I have seen is that when installing now doesn't go in sleep mode e.g. it dim down the backlight but it's all.
With other ROMS during the installation process, the phone actives the sleep mode blocking the installation (to resume I had to push the off button).
Could be this? I dunno.
Probably doing that it corrupts the data copied into the device.
I will let you know.
Alex
did you falsh dutty's leo ROM earlier?
i remember one of his ROMs was causing problems even after flashing another one. the only solution to that was flashing stock ROM and then try again with another new custom ROM.
i had the same behavior with my phone earlier but it vanished when i flashed another ROM.
which method are you using to flash? SDCard?
ive done a lot of research and still cant find a solution. im sort of a newb, heres the problem my wifes TP2 when she turns it off and turns it back on the phone gets stuck on bootloadr screen, tried to hard reset but wont do anything. but when i plug it with usb to my laptop if i soft reset it will boot up.I read that alot of people had the same problem and just had to install a coocked rom, well i did i installed energys rom but it still had the same issue. Now its back to stock rom. any info on how to fix this is appreciated and thnx in advance.
Get it replaced under warranty
if you were able to flash a cooked rom, you must have installed hard-spl.
when did you do this, after the problem appeared to be able to flash the energy rom, or before? maybe this could be the problem...

here is a thread on the subject already.

well the first time her phone did it i googled the problem and it brought me here, a thread that said stuck at bootloader screen and their solution was flashin a cooked rom. well it got the phone to boot after i did that but every time if she turns it off and back on it gets sutck at the tri color screen. i installed hard spl when i was flashin rom.
here is a thread on the subject already.[/QUOTE]yea been at that thread also, but my problem is that when i turn the phone off and when i turn it back on it wont boot up it just gets stuck there, like i stated above i already flashed hard spl and flashed a energy rom but it still does the same thing. i flashed the phone back to the original rom but is still gets stuck, the phone works as long as she dont turn it off but after awhile her ram goes up to like 80 so i have to turn it off, and to turn it back on i have to use my laptop. and thanx for the help guys i really appreciate it. and phone dont have warranty i bought it on craigslist.
Since it's going to the tri-color bootloader screen, seeing as normally to get to that screen you would hold volume down on boot, have you checked inside the back of the case to make sure there isn't dirt/debris jamming the volume down button? If the volume adjusts normally once you do get it booted, that may not be it, or maybe it's just a short in the key.
Also, both the stock ROM and energy ROMs are bad about eating ram, and need to be rebooted regularly. Maybe try one of the ROMs that doesn't, like a Jackos rom, which you can leave running for days without a reset. Might not solve your problem, but might at least take some of the bother out of it.

You've got me, there. The last energy rom I tried was a little bit ago, and was a Maxsense version at that. Even still, it soundly failed my Opera Mobile 10 test on a clean flash off of a fresh boot (it would autokill OM 10 to free up ram without any other apps open). Any rom that does that goes straight into the bin as far as I'm concerned.
I have been meaning to drop one of the more recent builds on to see if that was just a bad experience. Maybe try one of the titanium versions, just to make sure I'm giving it a fair shake. Either way, this has now gotten at least a bit off topic. =P

yea i have the sep 18 nrg rom on mine wich now runs very good. well after a couple reboots with the phone plugged to my laptop, i unplluged it and tried a soft reset and thank god it booted normal, i then powered the phone off and turnd it back on and it worked. dont know what the problem was but i appreciate everyones help.
There is different things that you can do to try and resolve your problem. Start by finding a rom that you would like to install on your phone and save the file to your SD Card. FL5 Mentioned Jacko's rom and I swear by it as well. I run the showlite version modified to my liking and still have on average about 80 mbs of ram open.
2nd thing to do would be a Task 29 which will pretty much formats your phone. This is important to do because if there is any "debris' left over from any of the roms you have installed, this will take care of that. "Debris" at times cause issues that you cannot pinpoint and interfere with the rom that is currently installed. It is also important that you do this step second because once you do a Task 29 you will not be able to flash through USB. At least, I have not been able to do so. I flash from my SD Card. You can get Task 29 here-->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649191
Once you do that, flash your rom from your SD Card by following the directions here-->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540
Hopefully this fixes your problem. If it doesn't, you don't have to soft reset to free up ram. I use software called "cleanram" and usually run it on level 3 which means that it thoroughly finds processes taking up ram and reclaims it. You can also schedule a daily, weekly, hourly clean under the settings menu. You can find that here-->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=514333
Best of luck.
Oooooooooooo yeah! Task 29 is absolute magic. Completely wipes your NAND before a flash to remove the chance of old ghost files from past ROMs jacking up your system. If you've followed any of the flashing tutorials on the board then you've definitely been doing this step, and thus this shouldn't have been your problem. Not everyone has problems if they skip it, but all sorts of seeminly otherwise random problems can pop up otherwise.

Eh ? I don't know what's going wrong for you, but that's completely untrue. After running task29, you need to unplug the phone from the PC, put the phone into the bootloader (e.g. press reset while holding down the Volume Down button), wait for it to come up and say "Serial" at the bottom, then plug it back in and it should say "USB". Then you can flash via USB (which is safer than flashing from SD card, since it does more checking).

The 20 Sep ROMs have the option of using quick menu. With that option, even with Sense 2.5 and CHT (a RAM hog), I have 88 Mb available on a normal basis. I don't use Opera 10 (also a RAM hog), but I think it would work with the new ROM.
You have to manually select the Quickmenu option.
well the problem with her phone is fixed. but now my hardware keys stay on dim but they stay on, im gonna try doin task 29 and reflashing a rom see if that takes care of my issue.
Well just for future references, I had all of the above problems and tried all of them. Issue did not go away until I did the following steps..:
Run Task 29
Flash new ROM (Issue still exist)
Flash New Radio (Issue still exist)
Reflashed Hard-SPL (This somehow fixed the issue....)
