Official ROM Change - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

How can I change my ROM 1.19.721.3 (HKG WWE) to 1.19.707.2 (HTC Asia WWE). I only want official ROM. Please help as Im a beginner in this ROM science. I want to do this as I have some chinese characters on my soft keyboard.

Wellcome aboard!!
first of all download your desired Original ROM and read about him from here:
Enter and read and download Original ROM here...
Cradit to UDK...
Then, it will give you in RAR package 1 file (or direct, without RAR):
for example:
RUU_Rhodium_HTC_Europe_1.19.401.1_Radio_Rhodium_3.44.25.27_Signed_Ship.exe
Click to collapse
For you:
RUU_Rhodium_hTC_Asia_HK_WWE_1.19.721.3_Radio_Rhodium_3.44.25.27_Signed_Ship.exe
Then, just operate the exe file and look for the orders from the installer (next... next... )
If it does not work...
You will have to install HardSPL on your device in order to open and install any kind of Rhodium ROM that you desire...
Just read how to do it and what you need for it here:
HardSPL Article
Credit to Oilnx...
And then, you can try and operate the EXE file again of shipped ROM...
Good Luck!

Need English ROM for Samsung Omnia SGH-i900/i908

WARNING! FLASHING USING GRANDPRIX DISASTERS
Everyone who wants to upgrade their ROM using GrandPrix please take this VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
You may kill your phone!
The i900DXHG4_PDA.bin file provided by chamid is the PDA ROM only. Samsung Omnia ROM has 4 different parts:
1. LOADER (also known as EBOOT)
2. PDA
3. CSC
4. PHONE
The disaster is that if you use the i900DXHG4_PDA.bin file incorrectly loaded into any other part rather than PDA, you will destroy that part. Look at the 3rd image attachement to see how I actually destroyed my Phone part using GrandPrix... It's no accident, the program forced me to click the PHONE button to load that .bin file.
Here are 3 case study for your beleive:
1. Myself: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2553644&postcount=15
2. KChauJen: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2554307&postcount=22
3. mr_tormoz: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2559075&postcount=49
You may explore the rest of this thread to see how we tried to solve the problem after destroying the Phone part. Good luck with your upgrades and play it safe!
THE ENGLISH ROM SOLUTION:
2 Methods
I - Using Official Updater (recommended)
Download the Official updater from here: Download Singaporean i900DXHG4
You will get 3 files:
1. Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 (optional)
2. SamsungModem_xp.zip (Samsung Modem Driver)
3. i900DXHG4 updater_xp.exe (Samsung Omnia Firmware Uupgrade)
Follow the instruction from Samsung.
If you encounter the "Incorrect Software Version" message you can find solution here: Incorrect Software Version
If that still doesn't work, try i900DZHG3, you can download from here: Download i900DZHG3
The latest ROM at the moment is DXHH1 (reconstructed, tested OK): Download i900DXHH1
For other ROMs and how to avoid the "Incorrect Software Version", click here
II - Using GrandPrix (not recommended for beginner)
Update 28 Aug 2008: I found a very comprehensive guide how to update to HH1.
If using the Official updater doesn't work, you may choose this alternative method.
1. download GrandPrix here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=108238&stc=1&d=1219556479
2. download the PDA ROM binary file here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ne0nalozyy2
3. You will get i900DXHG4_PDA.rar, extract it.
3.1 Copy the Grandprix folder to the root dir of your windows XP ex C:\Grandprix then put your image files PDA.bin etc in the Grandprix folder. This way when you click on PDA it will immediately find the file. (suggested by bobsbbq)
4. Run GrandPrix,
4.1 Set the profile to Grandprix LV image (reminded by bobsbbq)
4.2 click the PDA button and browse for i900DXHG4_PDA.bin. Caution: Do not mount the file to the Phone button, otherwise your PDA is doomed, read above warning.
4.3 if the PDA button doesn't detect i900DXHG4_PDA.bin, then you should use Explorer, right click on the file and click "Open With..." and then browse for the GrandPrix program.
5. Click Detect & restart your PDA. The process will be done in bootloader mode, so no ActiveSync required.
NOTE: I do not take responsibility if you destroy your phone function using this guide. You MUST read the whole thread before deciding to use GrandPrix. Goodluck.
THE ORIGINAL THREAD STARTER
Hi guys,
I'm struggling for so many days trying to flash my Omnia ROM into English. Here is what happened.
I bought this PDA online in China. It turned out to be from Philippine. It has SGH-i900 model written on the label under the battery.
The PDA version was i900DZHG1/DZHG1
The ROM version was i900DXHG1, as shown on the "original ROM.jpg" image.
Here are the steps I did before asking for help:
1. I searched all over the Internet using Google. Explored all xda-developers.com and other PDA forums.
2. I found the ROM from Samsung Omnia for SGH-i900 here: http://www.samsungmobile.com/promotion/omnia/index.jsp
3. I tried to flash my Omnia, it says "Incorrect Software Version".
4. I followed the instruction to fix the "Incorrect Software Version" problem here: http://www.modaco.com/content/samsu...ftware-version-when-updating-fix/#entry908015
The numbers worked, I found out the preconfiguration already was Singapore. Tried to reapplied that succesfully, but still "Incorrect Software Version".
5. I found this ROM SGH-i908 from here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/bjfs0b .
The upgrade process worked. But it turned out to be Chinese again. Now it has the following tech details: PDA: i908ZHHG8, as shown on the "i908 ROM.jpg" image
6. I tried to flash the SGH-i900 ROM provided for Singapore again. The same problem.
So HELP! I need your help. It's too time consuming. I already tried my best but it's just not working.
I know people used to cook ROM. Is there any cooked English ROM for this Omnia? If not, does anyone have a software to extract the ROM from the upgrade .exe file and use a custom program to flash the ROM with it?
I should also mention here that I already tried "hard reset" but it's not working at all. It's nearly impossible to hard reset this PDA, and when it finally hard-reset, the "Incorrect Software Version" message still on.
Have you tried using the Omnia updater again after flashing the i908 rom?
There is another thread here which had a HG5 rom. However, no details were given as to which rom it belongs:

Yes, I forgot to mention I did try again after having the i908 installed. No hope
mmm I have a feeling you need to wait for a higher build or someone to cook a custom rom. From what I've read elsewhere you cannot flash to a lower(official)build in Omnia. I could very well be wrong.

I myself am looking for some way to "hack" these files. I wish someone can do it. Samsung is so strange when requiring the device to be connected via MS ActiveSync. The Chinese version one did it on the bootloader mode.
Hi guy, your situation is exactly like mine. But finally i managed to upgrade the rom to offical G4 version.
Some keynote:
First upgrade to English G3 rom , then G4
If you got "Incorrect software version", do this:
* Press the 'dial' key to the left of the optical pad to bring up the dialer
* With the onscreen keypad input *#1546792*#
* Select 'Preconfiguration'
* Enter code *#81230*# and select OK
* Select 'Singapore', with the default Operator
* Accept this, DEVICE WILL HARD RESET
* Run update, and all should be well.
If you can't find the rom donwload link, please feel free to ping me.
BTW, I've tried a lot to cook the rom. Now I can rip the PDA part from the .exe upgrader, and extract all files from it. Then repack them to the nb0, but now have no idea to convert the nb0 to the B000F format.

It's my narrow knowledge, please forget if I'm wrong.
And please, put your cooked-rom to us if You can with the procedure how could You do it...

GrandPrix flash the bootloader part using the nb0 format, but the pda part bin format. The only thing I need is to convert the pda.nb0 to pda.bin, then flash it.
Using the search on this forum, with the keyword is B000F format, You will see, for example:

Not sure if i780 kitchen tools work, but you can search for famusc kitchen tools and in it, there is a pdf instructions on how to convert from part02.raw to nb0.payload back to nb0 and finally to flashable bin.
Again, just a warning, this MAY NOT work on an Omnia.

[ROM] Upgrade ROM from German to English

Hi,
I have since one week a Blackstone from Drei (www.drei.at):
ROM 1.56.407.2 (43972) ger
Datum 04/03/09
CE OS 5.2.20769 build 20769.1.4.5
Change the language i think is not possible without to install English-ROM.
If i try to download ROM-upgrade from htc/support (http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload) with my Serial Number i get always the german-version.
Theoretic if i have the Serial Number from "English" Device probable i can change the language from german to english.
It is correct?
If yes, how can i get this english Serial Number? Perhaps exchange with someone from this Forum?
regards
Thomas
don't think about some serialnumbers to get from here. just open your eyes, choose a rom of your choice and here we go. you'll find also the latest HTC roms here somewhere around or linked.

Even if you downloaded the WWE-ROM here you cannot flash it becuase your Device is CID-locked. You habe to unlock it first. Even for this you could have found the Info in this forum.
Good luck!
Hi,
My Device is't locked. I did this over sim-unlocker.com.
From other side i'm not professional or guru. I thought as much that serialnumber should be no problem (i will give my serialnumber without problems).
Anyway " just open your eyes, choose a rom of your choice and here we go."
Its easy to say...

1. You have to CID-Unlock your device
2. You should use Hard-SPL (or at least USPL)
3. Choose any WWE-version of ROM and flash it
But first of all: read how to flash you device in oder to keep it alive. It´s easy but you have to read.
Some threads ahead is the following sticky one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377
Hi all,
At first thank you for the answers!
Second: What do you mean Sir, "to keep alive the device"? Is this upgrade dangerous? If yes then i will not do this. I will keep my german version.
I'm still a greenhorn and i need more information regarding the threads 505377 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377).
I have already read this threads and i'm little bit confused. I checked that my SPL is: SPL-1.54.0000.
So, the steps:
1. Install Hard-SPL (of course - successful).
- should i take all files for HSPL and go to "post2"?
1. HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex.zip
2. USPL GUI v 2.5.zip
3. RUU_Signed_Blackstone_stockSPL154.zip
4. BlackstoneRUUWrapper.zip
5. SSPL-Manual-TouchHD.zip
- "post2" page:
1. HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex.zip (equal with the 1. above)
2. A 1.56+ based rom- Dutty's XT 3.7 --> what is this?
3. BlackstoneRUUWrapper.zip (equal with the 4. file above)
4. SSPL-Manual-TouchHD.zip (equal with the 5. file above)
result: Do i need "USPL GUI v 2.5.zip" and "RUU_Signed_Blackstone_stockSPL154.zip" and what about "A 1.56+ based rom- Dutty's XT 3.7" ?
Please explanation of "Place your phone into its bootloader." Sir.
This?
- Turn it off.
- Hold the volume down button while you press the power on button.
- You should see a tri-color screen with some text.
- Plug in your phone to your computer via USB. At the very bottom of the screen it should show USB.
2. If the first is OK then install the Englich Version: "RUU_BlackStone_HKCSL_WWE_1.57.831.1_Radio_52.64.25 .34_1.14.25.24_Ship.exe"
or i need something else?
I will be very grateful for any help and suppor?

upgrading rom (official or custom) is always a critical moment. you can break your device. hspl will make sure that you can restart your flashing procedure.
i have been using wm devices for years now and flashing have become to one of my hobies. so i am quite familiar with flashing but even for me it was hard to really understand the thread you mentioned above.
i have chosen to install hspl instead of uspl because this is what i have been using on other devices for years now (to other readers who are in favour of uspl: yes of course uspl is also very good, blablabla) but let's give newbies a clear start and he can decide later for other spls)
to answer the first question: you only need one spl which is in this case 1.56olinex. nothing more and nothing else.
now you are prepared to install any rom you like
and yes - what you described is the bootloader
second question:
yes, you can install that rom. again, here are many roms you can install.
but i see that you are very cautious - in this case you should really go to htc website (as you did), enter your serial number and install the rom htc is providing you with (even if it is not the language you prefer).
Hi
Yes, Sir i'm very cautious because i'm not profi. Thank you for the tip but..
I still don't know which file i need (Step 1 - Install spl) to install the Hard-SPL. Only "HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex.zip"?
The second step is clear.
Thank you a lot
regards
Thomas
correct.
once hspl is installed there is no reason to be cautious anymore
it does not make any difference in flashing official roms or custom roms.
Ok i'm not cautious anymore. All i need is only one file namely, the "HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex.zip".
Should I follow the references from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377 ?
First i need .NET 3.5.
Then regarding: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3930436&postcount=2 It concerns the following ...
HSPL1 - Downloads (i got it!)
HSPL2 - Flash new SPL (1.56.OliNex or HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex.exe) (i got it!)
HSPL3 - Check SPL version (i got it!)
HSPL4 - Flash new 1.56+ rom Why? I did this in HSPL2
What is that -> "A 1.56+ based rom- Dutty's XT 3.7".
regards
Thomas
in step hspl2 you updated your spl. this has nothing to do with flashing the rom (i.e. OS) itself, which you do in step hspl4.
"A 1.56+ based rom- Dutty's XT 3.7" means that you should from now on only flash roms whose version number is 1.56 or above (and dutty's rom XT3.7 is just one of them). all the latest roms here are based on version 1.56 or higher. but no problem if you flash an older rom. you will see screen color prolems right after booting. just reflash the correct rom.
but i have to admit that the tutorial would need some tuning in terms of clarification.
let´s say it in easy words:
The SPL of a device is like the BIOS of your PC.
All devices are locked by the providers in this SPL.
eg. if u buy an O2 Blackstone, you´re only able to flash O2 roms,
if u buy the official HTC Blackstone, you´re only able to flash official HTC Roms for your Region (in your case GER) ...
This lock is called CID Lock or Country-ID Lock.
To remove this lock, you have 2 options:
You can temporarly remove the lock just to flash any other ROM. After the rom is flashed and the device reboots, it´s locked again. (If anything goes wrong here, u need a Rom from your Provider matching your CID to recover the device!!) <- so if you want to do this, you need USPL
You can also permanantly remove the lock, and flash anything you want by flashing to a patched SPL. <- if you want to do this, you have to take HSPL by Olinex.
Pro and Cons:
If u take USPL, you will keep your (original) SPL, but still locked to your provider. You´ll need a official Rom matching your CID to restore when something goes wrong.
If u take HSPL, you can simply flash anything you want and how much you want. But you can get problems with warrenty if the device has technical problems in the future. When problems occure and you have to send the device to repair, you can flash an official Rom containing a official SPL or just an official (stock) SPL. But only if u are still able to flash
It´s your decition. I prefer HSPL...

Is it true there is a third way to flash ROM except Hard SPL or Gold Card?

====================================================
Updated on 29th July 2009
The most interesting question is "how to Flash a customized Simplified Chinese WM 6.5 ROM into a GBR version device while there is no Hard SPL ready and the GOLD CARD need a signed shiped official ROM?"
====================================================
It's ture. I buy a Rhodium from market and it has a simplified chinsee WM 6.5 rom. And obviously and absolutely it's not a official ROM version. And it's still be Chinese version after my several times hard reset.
However, I checked with several forum, besides here and some of Chinese forum. all of them said the HARD SPL for Rhodium is not ready. Why? And how to adapt the cooked rom to Rhodium without HARD SPL?
BTW,
I am going to update my splash of my Rhodium with the tool called RhodiumRuuWarpper sticky in this section. But I don't know how to prepare the NBH file only for the splash?
Anyone can help me?
I am a newbie for customizing ROM.
Thinks in advance.
And good wishes to all of you.

that system is not final yet, and AFAIK it also needs a cooked rom to replace the ms certs (if I'm not mistaken the certs are in IMGFS and the ULDR only checks IMGFS for them so you can't just shadow the files in windows or wherever they are)

simply dump a splash.nb from a rhodium RUU then pack it back into a NBH as a splash nbh type. Olipro's NBHUtil makes this simple
RhodiumRuuWrapper will only work with a HSPL or similar, not if your SPL is stock.

I think my SPL version should be 0.79.0000.
Please check the updated #1 post for detail. Am I right?
Is it a cracked HardSPL?

I am really a newbie for dealing with ROM. Please be kind to bear my "stupid" questions!
What do you mean "dump a splash.nb from a rhodium RUU"? How to do it exactly?
Can I backup the ROM of my device to my desktop PC for reuse? And How?
I already checked with the NBHUtil 0.92. However, there is no Rhodium in the target device menu list. How can I do?
This screenshot only shows your bootloader and not the mentioned WM6.5! Is it really true? I think not!
It's true
I bought one from China, and I have checked out many more in store. all the Rhodiums selling in Mainland China come with this rom.
I have dumped it and checked it out, it is mostly ported from a Blackstone ROM, and includes Titanium. it DOES NOT play nicely with the keyboard, and doesn't support some of the Rhodium conference features (ie lay the phone face down and it switches to speakerphone mode).
However, it is NOT unlocked, it is still running stock SPL
i successfully upgraded it to the WWE Asia ROM 1.19.707.2
any q's please ask
HPD
I wonder if it is a real manufactured by HTC or a clone from China. They can clone everything nowaday
its true they clone everything here, but only to make it look like the original, invariably the functions/interface will be incredibly simple.
there are a lot of iphone fakes, but its very easy to tell they are fake.
they even clone ovens over here, except they just look like ovens, in fact they are sterilizers for kitchenware (go figure)!
these Rhodiums are all the real deal, except they are graymarket (shui3huo4), so you dont get any warranty with them at all. if you want to by one in mainland china with warranty and full support it will cost over US$1000
sorry for my curiousity, did u tried to hard-reset the device? if yes & the system stick there, maybe they use the img update feature

Hi, I upload the photos of the startmenu and os verion for your reference.
However, I actrully don't know whether if a WM6.5. Of course, it can't be a official WM 6.5 as microsoft does not release WM6.5 yet.
But please DON'T say I made or edited these photos with PS!

Anyway, I aready confirmed my ROM is running on the STOCK SPL. I can't flash the ROM with the file named "RUU_Rhodium_hTC_Asia_HK_WWE_1.19.721.3_Radio_Rhodium_3.44.25.27_Signed_Ship.exe"!

i know you can use the keyboard to input english and chinese, but some of the extra "FN" shortcuts do not function as intended, so it is obviously not a standard HTC release for this keyboard, it is a hack

maybe you dont know what "lay the phone face down and it switches to speakerphone mode" means
also SMSing from within manila fails more often than not, and it does not let you see the full text of previous messages. the WWE Asia .2 rom fixes these issues, and the automated speakerphone works too. and the FN shortcuts on the keyboard all work too

as i told you before, your device is still running STOCK SPL.
the simplified chinese ROM is a full chinese rom, there's no possibility of changing it to english, and no english menus (bar a couple in bluetooth settings). ultimately it is a substandard hack/mash up of a blackstone rom with WM6.5. as i can read chinese, i put up with it until the WWE Asia ROM was released, and, as i mentioned in my previous post, you can upgrade it to that ROM, however the WWE HK ROM will obviously not work.
i have dumped this rom, and upon examination found it to be poorly put together and not worth sharing. i will repeat, it is not a rhodium rom, and its a fully CHS rom. i definately would not use it as a base to cook from, there are far better kitchens out there, and you are better off getting the OS and OEM from a rom made for the Rhodium.

I do know what "lay the phone face down and it switches to speakerphone mode" means, although my English is actrully poor.
I lay the phone face down onto the table, during the phone call with my wife. And the phone turns into speakerphone mode automaticlly so that my son and I can chat with my wife together. However, I do never test it in multi-ways conference call.
However, it's true the menu of the bluetooth setting is in English.

Hi, HPD,
The above is just for your information.
Now I think maybe you are right. The ROM is mash up hack.
I check my IMEI number online and it show up my device is sold to GBR(Great Britain,I think).
I think you upgrade the ROM to Asia WWE via SD card, nor from the RUU exe file.
However, I can only find the asia WWE in EXE format online.
Would you please tell me how to get the NBH file from the relase exe file?
Regards.

just use WinRAR to extract the exe file and you will get the NBH ( or simply rename the *.exe to *.rar and open it to get the file)

Thank you for your reply.
I find there are tow NBH files in the exe file. One is RUU_signed.nbh and the other is SPL_signed.nbh. I think I just only need to copy the RUU_signed.nbh to my TF card and bypass the SPL_signed.nbh. Am I right?
BTW,
Can you tell me the difference between the HK WWE version and the ASAIN WWE version?

I havn't tried flashing a ROM through a MicroSD card yet, so I think you should search for more info.
But in my opinion, only the biggest file(mostly RUU_signed.nbh) is needed and you have to rename it(sry I forgot the name it should be).

check my post for HK WWE ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=539361
Some details:
Supports Chinese displaying(CHT and CHS) 支持繁体、简体显示
Includes PinYin, CangJie, ZhuYin IME 包含拼音、仓颉、注音输入法
Chinese hand-writing not included 没有中文手写输入
FM included 包含FM收音机程序
I don't know about the ASIAN version since I never used it, but I think it did not support Chinese.
By the way, since your Pro2 is GBR version(you mentioned in your last post), if you wanna flash HK or ASIAN ROM, you will have to make a Goldcard to unlock the CID. Once you have a Goldcard, you don't need to extract the nbh files from the exe, just flash it through normal steps(ie. run the exe and flash).

[TUT] How to Reconstruct a Rhodium Dumped ROM & Reconstructed ROMs

I take no responsability in any damage on your device. If you're not sure what you're doing, take time to learn some basics from wiki.
This is the process to restore your Rhodium (TP2) back to the stock ROM and SPL. This should be enough for you to warranty return your device.
I have "borrowed" all of the examples from various sources on xda. Many thanks must goto jcespi2005 and JugglerLKR who created the guide and packages for the Raphael from which the majority of this is taken. The SPL "relock" procedure was taken from the Hard SPL thread. Credit to cmonex .
Prerequisites
The Rhodium Kitchen version 0.1 (Open the Zip File and read the password from the !!!readmefirst!!!.txt)
WinRAR or 7zip
RhodiumSPLRelocker_079SPL.zip
nbImg v1.1
Warning
avast! home detects buildOS as a virus, I've personally used it on my machine with AV off, and am not infected, but it's up to you.
Overview
You must follow these instructions in the order given. Once you have the Stock SPL you cannot flash any ROM's except the ones that are signed by HTC. For that reason you must restore the ROM first, then the SPL.
Step 1 - Get your Orginal ROM.
If you can find your Carrier's / Supplier's ROM on this wiki page or on their website. Please jump ahead to Step 4 - Flashing back to Shipped Stock ROM.
If you cannot find your ROM on the wiki then download this ROM : RUU_Rhodium_HTC_Europe_1.19.401.0_Radio_Rhodium_3.44.25.27_Signed_Ship.exe and proceed to Step 2 - Dumping your phones ROM.
Step 2 - Dumping your phones ROM
First you need to Dump the ROM from your Phone. Follow the instructions in this thread [TUT] Dumping an Rhodium ROM / SPL to obtain 4 *.raw files.
N.B: Although it might seem obvious to senior members, you must dump the ROM from your device before you flash it. If you have flashed another ROM to your device, then your orginal stock ROM is lost. You have 2 options, wait and see if your carrier will release one, or beg someone else with the same device to dump their ROM and share the *.raw files.
Step 3 - Reconstructing the ROM
-3.1: Extract the Kitchen to a Folder on the root of your PC (C:\, D:\, etc).
-3.2: Open the RUU_Rhodium_HTC_Europe_1.19.401.0_Radio_Rhodium_3.44.25.27_Signed_Ship.exe file with WinRAR or 7Zip and extract the ruu_signed.nbh file and place it in the BaseROM folder of the Kitchen.
-3.3: Place the Part01.raw (XIP) and Part02.RAW (IMGFS) in the BaseROM folder of the Kitchen.
-3.4: Run RhodiumKitchen.cmd in the Kitchen.
-3.5: Enter the following options into the Kitchen:
-3.6: e, b (for Dumped ROM). Press [Space] once complete.
-3.7: c, a (for Cooking a ROM).
-3.8: Press the "Play" button in BuildOS and wait for it to complete.
-3.9: Close BuildOS, Close PagePool Changer and Press [Space] to goto the main menu.
-3.10: You will now have a Flashable NBH file. Press f to Flash.
Now goto Step 5 - Removing Security Unlock
Step 4 - Flashing back to Shipped Stock ROM
If you were lucky enough to find a shipped ROM on the wiki or your carrier's / supplier's website, then just run the "ship exe" and follow the on screen instructions.
Step 5 - Removing Security Unlock
If you have purchased the SIM/CID/Security unlocker by Olipro, you can re-lock your device using the following tool : http://hpcmonex.net/htc/secrelock.zip
Step 6 - Restoring the Splash Screen
This is only needed if you couldn't find your Shipped Exe. If you have your Shipped Exe, you get the splash with it.
You're best creating a seperate folder out side the kitchen for this.
-6.1: Find a shipped exe from another WVGA device (HD or TD2).
-6.2: Extract the ruu_signed.nbh from the Shipped Exe using WinRAR or 7Zip.
-6.3: Use NBH Extract (in the Kitchen\Tools Folder) on ruu_signed.nbh
-6.4: Delete all files, except 01_MainSplash.nb.
-6.5: Use nbImg.exe as follows: nbimg.exe -F 01_MainSplash.nb -w 480 -h 800
-6.6: Delete 01_MainSplash.nb.
-6.7: Use nbImg.exe as follows: nbimg.exe -F 01_MainSplash.nb.bmp
-6.8: Use HTCRT in the Kitchen\Tools to make a NBH file from the 01_MainSplash.nb.bmp.nb file.
-6.9: Put the new NBH file and copy RhodiumCustomRUU from Kitchen\Tools into an empty Folder.
-6.10: Run the RhodiumCustomRUU.exe to Flash the Splash.
Step 7 - Flashing back to Stock SPL
-7.1: Ensure you already flashed stock ROM and Radio, because stock SPL flash is always the last step before sending the device in.
-7.2: Extract the relocker zip and run the EXE on your PC.
-7.3: If you wish to replace RUU_Signed.NBH that got extracted, feel free to do so, but not necessary (this Hard-SPL will only allow overwrite with a SPL signed by our custom cert). The included one is the 0.79.0000 stock SPL.
-7.4: Flash the Stock SPL
-7.5: Verify if it flashed by checking version in bootloader screen, it should say 0.79.0000, not 0.85.OliNex.

First, thanks for this. I write a fair amount of documentation of my work as a network admin so I know how time consuming this is.
cdguider has been kind enough to dump and reconstruct the TMoUS ROM so I don't actually need to do this (although I may just for the exercise) but I do want to start learning how to modify this ROM to suit my own needs. Is there a guide up that will get us newbies started on using the kitchen? Hopefully one that explains in detail what each of the kitchen tools are and what they do as well as how the Rhodium ROM is constructed. I prefer to understand what I am doing versus following recipe steps. For example, My Hermes ROM was partitioned into the ROM and an extended ROM where carriers could put their installers. Does the Rhodium have an ExtROM?
OK, back to the search tool.

No it doesn't.
For help with this Kitchen, see _Alex_'s cooking guides on the wiki for the Kaiser. That's where I started reading and then I just kept going, download kitchens published by other chefs and see how they put stuff together. There are two main types buildOS (like this one) and PRB that uses bepe's platform rebuilder - ervius's visual kitchen is based on it.
Thanks

Porting isn't simple, have a look for some tutorials on using BuildOS and porting.
Adding and removing programs, to add, just create OEM packages, to remove, just remove them.

Hi everyone ...
First of all Thanks alot for this Tut Dave awesome work.
I dumped my Stock Rom from a unbranded O2 TP2 and rebuild it.
For Cooking i used the signed_ruu from RUU_Rhodium_HTC_Europe_1.19.401.0_Radio_Rhodium_3. 44.25.27_Signed_Ship.exe
It did everything like described and i've got a
signed_ruu.nbh (1.19.207.1) newest o2 Stock Rom.
Should be fine right?
Do i also need to do Step 6 so creating a splash screen?

Latest Vodaphone UK shipped ROM for HD Mini?

I see that Photon hosts some shipped ROMS.
My Girlfriend has just purchased a UK Vodaphone HD Mini and I wonder if there is a new shipped ROM as there are only patches available on the Vodaphone UK site?
The current ROM on her phone is 1.07.401.1 (85429) WWE
ROM date 21st March 2010
Radio: 0.63.05.05
Many thanks
EDIT: Whoops... Sorry! used the search! I'm dyslexic and sometime find it hard to sort through textual information.
Vodafone haven't released their ROM yet (as you have already noticed from their website), they must still be testing/modding it. They are always a bit behind the curve in releasing Vodafone "approved" ROMs.
If you want the newest version ROM on your device you'll need to use SSPL and the 1.36.401.1 ROM posted up on conflipper's site. (Follow the shipped ROMs link from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=701507 )
Not impressed - it seems posting this has possibly drawn attention to the shipped ROMs site and the account has been suspended...
I should have exercised some impatience and downloaded the ROM this morning rather than driving 200 miles home only to find the files no longer available. :O(
The main Shipped ROMs site has been suspended after HTC got heavy with Conflipper, though they have agreed to allow already posted ROMs to remain.
You can find the HD Mini ROMs Here
Ahhh... Many thanks
Downloaded and attempted to upgrade the stock ROM with a stock update...
Invalid Vender ID at 1% falshing then dropped out.
Had a look for a Hard SPL for the Mini and it seems that it's not yet available for this device. (I wish she'd bought an HD2 now... )
So how do I go about updating the stock UK ROM to a newer stock ROM when it's in an *.exe file?
Is there some way to extract the ROM image and hence use DFT_SSPL_MINI.exe to update the ROM?
The stock ROM *.exe file it's a rar archive and contains different files (RUU, nbh, dll, etc). You can try to extract the *.nbh file and run it with mini_spl in the same folder.
BUT, it's just an ideea, maybe i'm wrong, i never tried this way since my phone it's not branded.
I already tried opening the exe with WinRAR (I'm on V3.93) but no option to extract. Any other ideas?
WinRAR or 7Zip should give an 'extract' option, but they don't always.
The only other method is to connect the phone to the PC and run the update EXE file, agree the changes but don't continue to the start of the flash itself.
This process will have extracted the contents of the ROM update to a temporary folder on the PC. It's just a matter of locating it! When you have, you can copy the RUU_signed*.nbh file to the folder with the SSPL_mini file.
Be aware that only the OS ROM will be updated by this method- the Radio ROM cannot yet be updated other than with a full stock ROM flash.
I have a Vodafone Mini like yourself and followed the instructions from the SSPL thread. Worked a treat.
