I flashed Akirah's ADP1 3.0 today and apps think that my SD is read-only. I can mount it on my computer just fine. I've formatted and repartitioned it but it still won't work. Any ideas?

after searching, i found that the solution to the 'System UID's inconsistent' issue is to reformat the ext2 partition on the SD card.
But how do i do that. I tried removing the SD card and putting it in a card reader, but Paragon doesn't recognize the drive that way.
If i let it be in the phone and connect the phone via USB to my PC, Paragon recognizes it, and when i click on Format Partition option and point it to the SD card drive, it starts the format and then asks to reboot the PC. When it reboots, the phone reboots as well. My PC comes back and Paragon tries to continue the reformat (but the phone is not yet up), so Paragon fails with an error 'Invalid partition id'.
What the heck am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance,
KG

if you are installing some different update like going from rc33 rc9 or whatever to dev phone/haykuro/or such you need to wipe...
I have the same problem, and wiping doesn't do squat. Can't use my phone now...
The easiest way to partition your card is to download a live ubuntu cd and use the partition editor included on the cd.
This happened to me when I had /data/data on the ext2 partition using the Symlink method for Apps2SD.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=512057&highlight=System+UID
Basically, all I did was move the /data/data back to the internal memory...
rm /data/data
busybox cp -a /system/sd/data /data
rm -r /system/sd/data /data
reboot
Had a couple of stale NFS file errors, so I could not really delete the /data directory from the /system/sd. Ended up reformatting the partition to go with a different Apps2SD method.
Used Paragon as described above and everything worked fine for me.
Vermithrax
I tredged past it. I just redid my A2SD and then ran the optimizer (I'm on Hero btw) and it seems to be working fine and speedy.
Probably the cleanest solution HERE
I have a Transcend 8gb Class 6 microSDcard.
I turned the phone off to put the card in a card reader to reformat....i noticed that in Paragon Partition Manager 10 Server, that my sdcard is only showing as it being all a ext3 partition.
However windows vista can still read the fat32 partition and so can the g1....I am running JACHero's Roms...I have the new radio/spl and cyno's recovery. My g1 is working fine.
I just want to format the sdcard so i can put a updated JACHero rom on it.
Have you tried using Ubuntu? I find that better than paragon.
heres what i did...and it worked. i got the jailbrake cupcake and put my sd card in a usb sd reader and treated as if the droid was plugged by usb then put the original rom put the sd back in my droid alt s and boom it booted thank god cause i was about to spazz if i had to buy a new phone
Hey
One quick question or maybe a problem?
Okay so I partitioned my 4GB SD card and I did the Swap setting wrong instead of going to 32MB I did 64MB which now I know it was a bad thing to do because I tried formating the SD with a phone and it still doesnt work and I can use my G1 because the Hero gets stuck so does anyone knoew how to make it mount to the g1 console or format it from the console or anything??? because my sd doesnt work?
Did you try reformatting through the recovery or just in android?
Can you mount your fat32 partition on your pc?
If you're using Amon Ra's recovery, try booting into it (make sure you backup all your files, do a nandroid etc), then try to repartition it.
So I got a new 16 gb SD Card, I'm not sure if there is a proper way to transfer all your files from one to another but I just copied all the contents from my 4 gb card onto the new one.
Everything has been fine so far but when I tried to do a nandroid backup (using ClockworkMod Recovery 1.8.1.4) I got an error message:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(Invalid argument)
Can't mount /sdcard
I tried reflashing the recovery through the Rom Manager app but it still gives me that error message.. Will I have to reflash Amon's recovery using fastboot? Does this have anything to do with the fact I'm using a new card?
Thanks in advance for any help
i had a similar problem. my 8gb memory card would NOT let me restore a nand backup. it would create the backup just fine, but would not restore. i got some error saying "run nand.restore mobile via terminal" or some such thing.
i never did figure it out. but when i copied the EXACT contents of that memory card to a different card, nand backups and all, it suddenly worked fine. identical files.
i even formatted the card to make sure, but still wouldnt work. good luck
Yea Roger, I've tried transferring the contents of the old SD card but it doesn't help.
Anyone else ever have troubles switching to a new SD card? I can't do anything from the recovery, flash from SD, format SD, nandroid backup or restore etc. I've tried reformatting the SD card as well as transferring the contents of the old SD card to the new one, still doesn't work.
Any help would be much appreciated.
For anyone who ever has a similar problem, I figured out that my issue was with the Mac Disk Utility I used to format my SD Card.. I tried formatting on a Windows machine and the recovery was able to mount my SD card again.
I have a G1 with 8gb class 6 sd card. Had 128mb swap, 256mb ext4, remaining fat32 partitions. Have never had an issue with that setup since I got the card like 6 months ago. I've also had just about every rom on the phone at some point or another. Today I decided to switch from zx hero 1.4.4 to cm5.0.8 stable. Did the usual wipe all 5 etc.. Got into setting up the rom and as soon as I logged into my google account I got the "sd card damaged" warning in the notification bar. I figured no big deal, I'll just reformat the sdcard and all will be good. Reboot the phone, (amon ra recovery 1.5.2) and go to partition sd card. Run through everything, keeping the same setup I had. I prepared myself to restore my sdcard backup, but to my surprise all my files were still there. Tried to partition again, then rebooted to recovery. Check to see if my .zip files were there and they still were. THough this was odd, since every other time I've reformated I had to reload all my files. Wiped and flashed super d 1.9.3. Booted up, got the damaged sdcard error again.
Now i was getting concerned. Went into terminal and checked my swap partition. Still working fine. Checked my gallery, said no files. Opened the camera, said I needed an sd card to take pictures. I decided to mount the phone to my pc, and all of my files are there and work.
I also tried to repartition just now with paragon on the pc, with no luck. The computer sees the sd card, says its not formatted, but wont let me do anything.
Any input? I know this is a long post, but I'm just trying to figure out whats going on.
