Touch screen games - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

What is your favorite touch screen game, and if you can give my link with that game

My favourite (at the moment) is Totem Star.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561289
Very addicting and it's absolutely free!

Here is my #1 at the moment.
I had to hard reset and this is all that I have put back on yet.

Possible games for the Diamond

Have been bored at work all day. Just wondered if anyone had any fantastic ideas for Diamond games. I'm not saying I can make them, but if anyone can work out how to get the G-sensor working on games, I'd love to see a sensor-based Pacman.
there is loads of old dos games you could convert.
someone made a lunar lander game. he can help you with the gsensor.
what about a driving/flying game in which you control the car/airplane with the gsensor and use the dpad button to fire at enemies.
or maybe just a racing game
a platform game in which walking is left right, tilt up is jump etc
good luck

Emulators for Touch Pro

In this topic we will discuss about console/platform emulators compatible with Touch Pro.
So far I got these working on the TP:
- PicoDrive
- FinalBurn
- Genesis Plus by n0p (you can achieve better framerate with PicoDrive - but far away from smooth gameplay)
- PocketSNES by n0p (better for SNES, but far away from smooth gameplay)
- PocketSNES by masterall
The emulator were tested with sound.
Performance tests (more to come?)
- Picodrive (Sonic 3): HTC Tornado (SPV C600) vs HTC TOuch PRo.
More information about poor touch pro graphics performance can be found here.
--- OLD POST ---
I've also tried PocketSNES without succes (black screen when trying to load a ROM), PocketNester Plus (program exits after loading a ROM)
Haven't checked yet:
- FPSCe (playstation emulator)
- MorphGear (multi-console: NES, Sega, GBA)
- PocketScumm
You may check this guide.
Please post here your experience with emulators on TP. Also, you may post link to workable emulators and I will update the first post.
I Tried finalburn, can load ROMs with it, plays perfect, but on the same time are unplayble, due that the keyboard maps the same (OE) key on all.
Still haven't found a fix for this. Do you know of one?
For the fix try this. If the arrow keys are inversed, just map:
- Up: left key
- Down: right key
- Left: down key
- Right: up key
Ah, one note, on PicoDrive you must select "Fast renderer" because the poor redraw issue of the device, otherwise you will get full of annoying vertical delays. Anyway, at this point emulation is better (fluid) on my good old Tornado overclocked at 252Mhz than on touch pro (tested Sonic 3 with PicoDrive) .
I've been using the Gameboy Color emulator PocketGnuboy v1.21 with the KforTouchPro 1.0.0.3 keyboard fix. It runs well when set to 160x144 with sound enabled. I've noticed that Frame Skip has to be set at Auto or else the phone crashes after a bit.
Scummvm works and looks fantastic on TP only issue i had was that i couldn't map keys to the qwerty keyboard, but most games where still very playable, even COMI worked for a while!
Hope that helps
using morphgear gbc module with the fix by dilta.. works very smoothly
For an SNES emulator, use n0p's:
http://n0p.tonych.info/?PocketSNES
You have to use portrait right mode without the stretch, which puts that ugly controller skin on the screen. If you do portrait right mode with the stretch all the roms just glitch out. Also, there's no sound. Other than that, games tend to run smoothly (although I've come across a few that just don't work). Still need the KforTouch fix though.
Also, in your main thread you said Morphgear supports GBA, but from what I've seen it only supports GBC. I was able to get PocketGBA to work:
http://sunbug.net/attachements/download/9
However, I haven't found any way to put the emulator in the correct display mode for using the hardware keyboard, so I was stuck using the sucky directional pad on the Touch Pro with the touch screen keys. But, it works like a charm.
Alot of complains about the TP i cant seem to fit any of the complains here on my device v 1.90.409.6
1:You have to use portrait right mode without the stretch, which puts that ugly controller skin on the screen. If you do portrait right mode with the stretch all the roms just glitch out! >-->> i play it perfectly on my TP with sound and in ladscape mode with the keyboard to play with no need to use the skin i use pocketsnes 1.52!
2: Ah, one note, on PicoDrive you must select "Fast renderer" because the poor redraw issue of the device! >-->> i use picodrive and cant see any redraw issue on my phone also need to limit fps to 50-60 to get the games run perfect or they run too fast!
the only redraw issue i get is in opera browser! IE work greate without the redraw...so im not sure why my device dont get the other problem on emulators..and for the key settings use (shift left) (ctrl left) (tab left) and (q or a) for the r1 and l1 buttons on the snes use the volume keys its alot playable then for emulators i recommend is PocketSnes 1.52 (super nintendo) PicoDrive 0.52 (sega genesis) PocketGba Rel 060723 (gameboy advance) fpsece (playstation slow yeat but some games you get 30fps+) PocketNesterPlus 0.9 (nintendo) FinalBurn 0.011 (arcade) is some of the emus i recommend for you and all this emulators i can run at landscape for a note hope this help some!

You must be using those emulators without sound? That's the only way you're going to get 100% speed. I've used every one of those emulators you've mentioned, and I haven't been able to get full speed on any one using landscape mode with the hardware keyboard.
@Quake3000, I can record a video if you don't believe me. Try a fast action game such as Sonic 3 & Knukles.
... And the redraw issue si present not only in opera. Just see my videos from here (i've done a test with IE too). Maybe you just don't feel it.. try with other sites . Anyway, we are kinda offtopic here. We can contine the discussion in the appropiate topic specified above.
@kevingilbert thanks for the links, I will try them ASAP and update my first post. I haven't tried yet MorphGear, but on this page GBA is also mentioned..
@0llyTouchPro have you tried KforTouchPro?
@at10ti0n thanks !. any other experience?

nope with sound my favorite games on the genesis is the sonic games i have them all from sonic 1 to sonic 3d even sonic spinball...what firmware do you have? anyway i will see when il get time to record a video. Need to get my nokia N95 back from the care center first. then il use that to record with since my video camera died this summer after a very big fall from mountain there the plan was to film when i was mountain climbing:/

I'm amazed. And I'm almost certain it can't be true. I'm running the stock Sprint firmware. With sound I can only run 100% speed with jittery movement due to all the frame skipping. I'll have to await your video.
DSF I'd like to thank you for making this thread, I'm a gamer, and I really wanna know how the Touch Pro compares to the tilt in gaming. The tilt cant play any emulators without lagging or needing to disable sound.
One main concern I have is, does the TP have the same touchscreen bug that the tilt had? the one that when you held down the touchscreen it would lag horribly? best way to tell is map the onscreen buttons in finalburn and see if it starts lagging.
speaking of finalburn, what roms have you tried and how was the peformance?

Hey Mikeeey,
Good to see you on this forum. I'd only ever seen you post on Modaco.
Unfortunately, there's always a little lag on finalburn - even when using the software keyboard. Final Fight plays pretty good. CPS2 games (like D&D) I tried are a little more annoying. The big neo geo games also have some slowdown.
Actually, Mikeeey - your request made me find out something VERY interested. I just played D&D Tower of Doom and tried the screetap for the first time ever.
Using screentap instead of the action buttons - lag goes away altogether! I couldn't believe it and had to go through several fight scenes to prove it. Everytime I press a button on the keyboard in a fast action scene, the game stalls for a fraction of a second. If I do the same with a screen tap - there's no stall - it's just as fast as my 6700.
I think it's an issue of the program that we have to run in the background. I wish there was a fix for this, but HTC screwed up the keyboard setting such that without the background program - we can't map keys.
I've gotta say this is exciting, I played a few other games - and if we solved this, emulation on the touch pro would be near perfect.
Not sure why he says PokketNester doesn't work. Works perfectly for me.

hey PolloLoco nice to see you here too! well if you look at my post count youl see I've actually been here for quite some time lol. How long have you been here?
I had no idea you got a Touch Pro, thats awesome! I thought you had verizon? isnt the verizon version not out yet? if it is what do they call it? I'm recommending it to my friend who has verizon.
how much lag is a little lag? On my tilt it was so bad, if i tried playing metal slug with sound it would slow down and the sound would be skippy cuz it was lagging.
wow... so.. they fixed the screen bug..but now there are button bugs?? Idk which is worse.. Well hopefully there will be a fix for the button mapping issue and the buttons slowing down the game. Have you flashed to a custom rom?
I noticed the TP has less buttons for games in portrait mode. It doesnt have the left and right softkey.. am I correct?
have you played in finalburn games that were in portrait mode, like those verical air shooter games? DonPachi for example?
Could someone try DoomGLES on the TouchPro?
I would have when I went to play with the Fuze at the AT&T store but the guy had to grab one from the back and he watched me as I played with it, waiting for me to give it back so he could put it back in the box.
I've 100% discovered that any slowdown with games on the touch pro - is 100% due to lag from the keyboard. It may not even be the background program "Kfortouchpro". Some users have reported that they have keyboard lag when typing - UNTIL they flash to a new rom (GSM version). I hope there's a similar fix for the CDMA version. Then it may be reasonable to use this phone for gameplay with the keyboard.
What I did to test this was by digging up (it took hours) my old smartphone bluetooth joystick. I installed the program (told it it was an HTC Magician) and then mapped the joystick buttons to the very few hardware keys that register. By the way - on the keyboard, up down left and right map independently without k for touch pro - and there's apparently no lag.
Once I'd mapped to the hardware keys, I started playing Finalburn. It played awesome. Almost 100% speed. On some high speed action shootemups (shocktroopers 2) - I saw a little slowdown. That said, I'm picky about emulation, and I have no concerns about recommending Finalburn on the touchpro. It's beautiful, great speed, and it looks and sounds great on the VGA screen and speakers.
I then tried Picodrive - and it worked just as well! The difficult and jittery gameplay I had before, were purely from the keyboard lag. I'm happy - and I'm still hopeful I can connect my phone to the tv and play games from my couch on the bluetooth joystick. However, I'm expecting serious slowdown due to tv out.
Mikeeey, to answer 2 of your questions. I'd heard about Verizon's initial plans to issue a crippled touch pro - slower processor and half the ram - for the same price. So I sent a complaint e-mail, wondering why it wouldn't make sense to switch to Sprint. I never got a reply. So I decided to switch to Sprint. It makes sense for me - the same unlimited data plan is at least $15 cheaper than Verizon's and I haven't had any coverage issues since I got this phone 3 weeks ago.
The Verizon phone, since many user complaints - may not be as crippled as originally planned. The latest rumors I've heard were that the Verizon XV6850 will have almost the same processor and 192 megs of RAM as opposed to the 256 of the Sprint Touch Pro. Early leaks suggested that the Verizon prototype is a touch slower. We'll see.
Mikeeey - the vertical shooters you're suggesting would stink on this phone that way. The optical joystick and surrounding buttons stink. Very often you press one direction (they're connected) and the next direction registers. So it's not very accurate and I try not to use it. For a vertical shooter I'd either use the direction buttons on the pull out keyboard (they work as I mentioned) and the 3 front face buttons that register.
well im glad you discovered the problem, I'm glad to know it's fast!
ah yes, the speakers, how are they? louder than the 6700 and kaiser? does it have good sound quality?
So I assume you use the arrow keys on the keyboard then, isnt that difficult considering you cant easily go from 1 key to the next or press 2 at the same time. For example trying to press right and up at the same time? on my Tilt if I try to do that I end up pressing "enter" as well.
damn.. vertical shooters are my favorite.. does the D-pad actually "click" or is it touch buttons? I didnt have enough time to figure it out when I played with it. and is there a single softkey button on the device anywhere?

XTRAKT: the first games to run smoothly on the touch HD! Works on the Touch Pro!

This is the first game with such great graphics and to run so soothly on the Touch Pro. The only thing I found to kinda be cut off because of the difference in screen size is the loading screen.
EDIT: Well after looking closer I found that while playing the game the left part of the screen is slightly cut off not allowing you to see your score. But is still good enough to play.

If at first the game does not work thy this:
3D Drivers
I just installed it, neat game. I can't believe they didn't use the accelerometer for steering. Steering and shooting with the stylus is impossible at later levels. Since the game gives you separate scores for shooting, steering, and stunts... you'll take a hit on shooting or steering.
But the game is playable. Perhaps if the game was using a different orientation (dpad in the left hand)... you could steer with the Dpad and shoot with the stylus.
It is smooth and the graphics look great. Thanks for sharing!
White Screen
All I'm getting is a white screen.
I'm on a Touch Pro using illboredsll ROM, I think its 11039.

Try this
http://www.4shared.com/file/94903988/46937ade/Driver_Ati_d3d.html
They are 3d drivers
Control really isn't optimal, but I guess since it's meant for another device... The help screens are cutoff and I can't make out some of the controls. Did figure out if you start the game after opening the keyboard, can use the Up/Down arrows on the kb to steer.
The game does look pretty good!
Works, but the right-hand side is cut off. Regardless, it's a great game, but the controls are a bit wonkey (maybe because I'm not good), still playable though, completed the first level. I had to exit by going to the control panel.
And the drivers you posted are the same as here. Right?:
http://www.fuzemobility.com/the-new-3d-drivers-are-here-with-video/
Now if only I can get FPSE to do this graphics rendering so well with PS1 games!
White screen
This is my first post! So... hello!
I had the same problem with white screen (mSD isntallation). I have 3d drivers installed.
After installing it in the device memory it works great!
Definitely the best looking game I've seen so far. Now if we could only get a version for our screen resolution lol
was anyone able to beat the first boss?
for some reason, I can't hit the corners of the stupid shield...
If you click around where the orange corners are you have to do it pretty quick and hit all of the corners or it won't drop the shield.
To those having trouble with the steering/shooting
I found it much easier to open up the keyboard and use z/x to steer left and right with your left hand. This leaves you right hand free to control the shooting. Also you don't have to hit home to exit. Although the majority of the quit button is cut off, you can hit the edge of it if you look in the top corners.
very nice game ... i'm waiting the touch pro porting with gsens and VGA resolution
yeah, been using it on my touch pro (latest official rom) since it came out. works well (apart from sides cut off ofcourse) but everything is accessible (tap small blue area top left to go back or just use dpad). still cant beat first boss. hope an update will have gsensor enabled or something
The hardest thing about beating the boss is you not hitting it, especially when it shields itself. I found that you have to hit the orange spot a little offset to the left. I was able to get rid of the shield pretty fast this way.
The problem is, it doesn't die right away!! You'd better hope you get through the first form within a min and a half, or you may not have enough time for the next form :/
screens??
Anybody that have some screenshots they post? =)
NEVERMIND! Used youtube and got a nice preview.

Thanks a bunch. This game plays very smoothly on the fuze. Even though it is sized for wvga, the game is still fully playable.
It's absurd that WinMo doesn't have games that utitilze the full 3D accelerator of this $300 phone. Will be on the hunt for more of this type.
not working on i900/ omnia any reasons why just says
the file cannot be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted csrtificate or one of its components cannot be found if the problem persists try reinstalling or restoring this file,
iv got it installed to main memory and installed the 3d drivers just incase,
any ideas how to make it work please

emulators that work for the HTC MAGIC

the other day i paid for and downloaded the nes emulator, i was playing around with it and realised that i couldnt play games really as i dont have a keyboard like the G1.
also with this problem, when playing cestos i cant talk as im playing from my HTC MAGIC and have no keyboard. do we no of any one that is going to be fixing these problems
thank you in advance
Hello,
From my experience (which is some what limited mind you, haha) ScummVM works very well with the HTC Magic. I have a Vodafone HTC Magic (black) and had Broken Sword 1 running perfectly. Obviously most other games will not work as well given the lack of hardware keyboard - but point and click adventure games are no problems with the touch screen/trackball! Also, the ScummVM app is free from the Market last time I checked.
Hope this helps!
It seems the magic requires a vitual keyboard. Also, as the magic is capacitive, that would mean that it's essentially multi touch capable (even if google haven't capitalized on it yet), so theoretically, it should be possible to get that virtual keyboard running with multiple buttons pressed at the same time. As far as I can see, the Sapphire(magic) is a rather new phone, so these things just take a little time to come from the developers.
Caid.

Yeah, it works. But some point and click, like broken sword 2, monkey island 3, need a right mouse click (inventory) to continue playing. Also no buttons to save the game.
So ScummVM is good, but with some games not. I hope they fix this soon.
There are a couple of experimental multi touch apps appearing in the market for use on rooted phones running certain firmwares. Hopefully we'll start seeing this being implemented into emulators soon. I'd be more than willing to pay £5 for a decent Megadrive emulator with multitouch control.
You never know, maybe we'll get official multi touch in Donut... or Eclair... maybe Flan? Please?!
There is a game boy/game boy colour app called kidd GBC. You have to pay for it but it uses an on screen keyboard (well an a and a b button that you press on screen) and you use the trackerball on the phone to move about. It works quite well and is one of the first emulators i've seen that has a basic on screen keypad implemented.
Finding games isn't easy tho.
The guys over at http://www.supergnes.com/index.php are working on the bomb snes emulater that will supposedly eventually support touchscree/multi-touch/trackball.
Theres a slew of myTouch 3G users coming down the pike, lets hope they start getting support.
ggNES is the BOSS! it allows u to set onscreen arrows and buttons, but i use volume up down for a b and the screen for the arrows cuz without multi touch its hard to put both on the screen.... hopefully donut should fix that!
Been using Nesoid for NES games and Gensoid for Megadrive games, both have on screen D-pads and you can map the buttons to correspond to A/B etc..
Works really well, really like it, tons and tons of roms out there. Been playing Altered Beast on the megadrive emulator and Mario and Zelda on the Nes one!

XOOM Game Compatibility List

Hello All,
I am going to try to put together a list of games that currently function on the XOOM, which ones do not and which ones are made specifically for tablets. I will add in statuses for all my games and hopefully others will fill in the cracks and we can get an informative list out.
NOTE:
Developers! If you happen to stumble across this list and your game is tested compatible with the XOOM, please let me know, I will add it asap!
Furthermore, if anyone notices that a "broken" game is fixed, please post! I will show it as being corrected.

Post 1 - News, Updates and Thanks.
Post 2 - Tested and Functional Games divided by category (Nonfunctional now as well).
Post 3 - Special Case Games, Emulators and Remote Gaming.

I have been informed that it is possible to sideload Order and Chaos to the XOOM (presumably by extracting the APK from a phone) but the game occasionally crashes and characters do not seem to be saved server side. This is probably gameloft's licensing engine at work.
- 6/27/11 -
Hello guys. I sold my XOOM today on Ebay so I won't be able to directly test apps anymore. I replaced it with a VZW Galaxy Tab, I know that sounds like madness but it is much easier to haul around and make calls on (I am much more opposed to paying Verizon 77 a month than I am to looking like an insane person carrying around a tablet everywhere).
Anyway, I will keep scanning this thread and adding in submissions every week or so. Game on.
- 6/20/11 -
Order and Chaos has been released directly to the market but not showing up for the XOOM. *COUGH* works on my galaxy tab.
Turbo Granny: works perfectly.
Shaky tower: uses landscape, works very well though I would argue that the tilting is a little slippery.
Grand Prix Story: Works fine when in portrait mode. In landscape the status bar obscures the game UI, so just use portrait.
Burn the Rope: Requires you to pick up your tablet and spin it all around, but works just fine.
Cut the Rope: Will be available soon via the Amazon Marketplace, probably this friday.
- 6/14/11 -
Heroes 3: After quite a bit of experimentation I have not been able to get Heroes 3 to run. The app is called VCMI and the developer recommends installing logcat to check for missing files.
Imaginary Range: An interactive comic book by Square Enix seems fully functional and free! It is definitely experimental but very interesting, no issues so far on XOOM.
Zenonia 3: Will be available within the month according to gamevil.
Gun Brothers: Is releasing a THD version fairly soon.
- 6/14/11 -
ZOMG: Heroes 3 on Android! Nerdgasm! Currently trying to get it to work. Will post updates when I get things running.
- 6/10/11 -
T-RACER HD - A very flashy tegra 2 racer.
Grand Prix Story has a lot of graphical glitches on Honeycomb. (Bummer the other 2 karisoft games work pretty well).
Homerun Battle 3D works on 3.1
X-Men Arcade
Contra 4 Redux
Ground Effect Pro HD: Ported from Xperia Play
Gameloft:
Hero of Sparta still crashes for me
Spiderman is fixed
Nova: Still broken
Thanks to everyone for submissions!
- 6/3/11 -
PORTED: Legion has notified us that Age of Zombies has been adapted to all devices including the XOOM! And it happens to work wonderfully.
FIXED: Squibble now is perfectly functional!
SORT OF FIXED: No gravity no longer crashes but menus are still misaligned.
- 6/2/11 -
GAMELOFT: Has begun to fix their games for Android 3.1.
Asphault 6 is fixed! More updates as I finish installing the other 3 games.
Hero of Sparta: Crashed!
Nova: Crashed!
Spider Man: Crashed!
Thanks a lot to vista64 and riffer for mentioning this! I will keep checking for new versions.
- 5/31/11 -
Plants VS Zombies! Gameplay is perfectly functional. There is a bit of lag when displaying your "new item" after every level. Background graphics are a tiny bit pixelated on the XOOM. Otherwise it is perfectly smooth and plays awesome!
Battleheart is now 100% functional on the XOOM! Mika Mobile has reduced the loading times to basically nothing! If you enjoy RPG's with excellent strategy and fast action get this game!
- 5/30/11 -
NEWS: All of Yongzh's emulators have been pulled from the market due to open source licensing conflicts.
Apparently he did not provide an open version of his emulator ports as was required by the licensing of the software he used.
The good news is that all of his emulators are available for free for a limited time on the SLIDEME app store! Including N64OID!
http://slideme.org/
Visit the site with your XOOM and download the marketplace app ASAP! It doesn't require registration for free apps.
ONE DAY TIL' PLANTS VS ZOMBIES! CONFIRMED TO BE WORKING ON XOOM BY OTHER XDA MEMBERS!
Added a link to the pocket ISO tool to the emulators section. This is a great tool for shrinking down the size of PSX roms. Useful until we get our SD card officially supported. http://www.fpsece.net/download.html

BIG NEWS! The XOOM has official Gameloft support now!
http://goo.gl/28fj5
OFFICIAL GAMELOFT GAMES:
(Use stock browser to download unless you want a "not original copy" error.)
All 4 Gameloft Games intended for the XOOM have been patched by gameloft to function correctly on 3.1.
UNOFFICIAL GAMELOFT GAMES:
If you just can't wait for a certain Gameloft Game, check out Legion's compatibility thread below to see if another phone's version will work with the XOOM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000450
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wii Controller Apps - no issues at all.
Datel Retro Wireless Controller working! (I am using one now)
Check this thread for details! (Thank you Jvward!)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=997756
OID Emulators:
These emulators are considered to be the best on Android for classic systems.
NES, SNES, GAME GEAR, GENESIS, GAME BOY COLOR, GAME BOY ADVANCE
Due to open source licensing conflicts Yong Zhang has had his Google Developer Account Terminated and his emulators removed from the market.
The good news is that you can download all of these emulators for free from the SLIDEME app store for a little while. N64OID included!
http://slideme.org/
Visit the website and download the Android SlideMe app. (It is called SAM) It does not require any registration for free apps.
FPSE:
Set the screen size to "Small"
You must use the 4/3 centered screen size. The overall for "small" looks nice but does not register input.
Disable HLE mode
Turn OFF frameskipping
Use lots of memory card saves with big RPG's!
Video in FF8 and 9 will turn grey if you load a savestate without first loading a memory card save (Just load like you would from an actual PSX and then load the save state).
There is a tool called Pocket ISO that can shrink the size of roms used by FPSE. Do this on your PC and transfer the files over, it works very well so far. Savestates and memory card saves will be transferred.
http://www.fpsece.net/download.html
PSX4Droid:
This emulator is now free via Zod's website. He has been removed from the Android market "Officially" for the use of the registered trademark "PSX" and unofficially just in time for the release of the Xperia Play.
The latest version is 3.05
http://www.zodttd.com/wp/
I had some trouble getting this to run on the XOOM, but Zod has taken an interest in making it work correctly for honeycomb.

Splashtop stands as perhaps the fastest and most responsive remote desktop client. It works by only transmitting a portion of your screen 1024*768 or 800 x 600. This seems to minimize the amount it has to stream at once and keeps it flowing smooth.
To set up,
Step 1: Buy the app for a whole 2 dollars on the Android market.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.splashtop.remote
Step 2: Download the streamer for your PC.
http://www.splashtop.com/remote/download?from=product
Start it up and make note of the iP address.
Step 3: Run the Android app and first create a "local" connection (to use over wifi when near home) with the IP address you got from your streamer. On the advanced menu set the resolution to 1024x768, your router can probably stream that perfectly.
Step 4: Now create a connection for 3g and remote wifi access. Use your IP address from your router's configuration page (if it starts with 192.168 it is your local network IP and not your actual IP address). Use the 800 x 600 resolution.
Step 5: Go to your router's config page and make sure you forward ports 6783 to 6785 so remote access works properly.
Some other notes:
1. You can play any game so long as it is in windowed mode
2. The Datel Retro Wireless Controller works just fine! Just treat your controller as a keyboard and bind your keys by the letter instead of to the button.
3. Thanks a ton to vidriera for letting us know about this.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Special thanks to vidriera for pointing this out!
Some of the best games ever made can now be played on Android!
Baldur's Gate II
1. Download GemRB
2a. Download the BG2 Demo for free
Click on downloads, select all 3 options, wait.
2b. Copy over your existing BG2 install
(I am trying this now, will update soon)
3. Setup Keyboard Options
Make sure Additional Controls > On Screen KB is selected unless you want your character named "eeeeeee"
Goto On Screen Keyboard > Customize Layout then make a dragging motion just above the bottom right of your screen to place the KB (this is to keep it out of the way of your top left menu)
4. Setup the Mouse
Go to Mouse Emulation > Calibrate Touchscreen and tap the top left and then bottom right corners and you will cover the screen with a green button with 2 arrows. Press the Menu key.
Go to Mouse Emulation > Advanced Features and uncheck relative mouse movement (laptop mode).
Vidriera has come up with a way to get the full game working. Check out his instructions here and use the config file attached to this thread.
Okay, so I finally got Baldur's Gate 2 working with GemRB. It was weird because the gemrb files are hidden when using MTP (default) transfer. So, before installing gemrb from the market, this is what you do:
1. transfer the contents of your FULL "BGII - SOA" directory to "/mnt/sdcard/app-data/net.sourceforge.gemrb/ (GOG version should work, but I'm not sure)
("mnt/sdcard/" is the root of your xoom storage as it appears when connected via USB(with MTP) )
2. Install GemRB from the market, open it and hit "okay" at the bottom of the list.
3. Download the config file I attached to this post and put it into the directory where you put your bg2 files.
4. Open GemRB again, and the game should load just fine. There is a 3-second delay built into the splash screen for SDL, so you can change your settings if you want. The only setting that I changed is to disable "relative mouse movement" in the mouse emulation/advanced features section and I also did a touchscreen calibration there.
This works on 3.1, and I would assume it also works on 3.01 but I haven't tried it. One other thing: the volume buttons will not work in-game, but you can hit the recent tasks button and then change the volume while that little menu is up.
EDIT: forgot to mention, you should OMIT ALL OF THE EXE FILES when you transfer to your xoom.
Click to collapse
I have re-attached the file at the bottom of this thread.
Planescape Torment
(try the same setup as above, will verify soon)
Free Heroes 2
Rather than re-invent the wheel, I will share this link that fully covers all the info.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...magic-2-homm-2-on-android-and-boy-is-it-good/
RESERVED for future updates 3
Hextacy Lite works great
Add Tank Hero! I love playing this on my XOOM, especially via HDMI out. I have a video on my youtube channel if you want to see how it looks.
Steambirds. Scales up great, looks great, but touch interface doesn't work very well at all, leaving it unplayable.
my gf has an ipad and the tablet version of fruit ninja is way better looking than the THD verison on the xoom.
Pool Break Demo looks and plays great

Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
Jewels is broken and Antigen doesn't look great and the tilt is a bit touchy but I am guessing that is just cause of the size of the tablet a tilt labrinth works good
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
I bought Nova for the Motorola Atrix since they both have Tegra 2 cpu's.........lo and behold.
I tested both Spiderman and Modern Combat 2 previously and they both crashed on loading the main menu. This was before the latest updates to the oc kernel and the system update. And most importantly, that was before I disabled app compatibility mode using spare parts! I am trying them both again right now to see. These are the only games Gameloft offers for the atrix at the moment.
should also point out that Raging Thunder 2 works after disabling app compatibility mode in spare parts.
have tested and can confirm Modern Combat 2 and Spiderman are not working

Note: I did have SpareParts installed with compatibility mode on .. I'll try them out with it off, if needed.
Solipskier works with compatibility mode off
Hyper Jump and Mega Jump both just scroll to the right... Hyper Jump seems to work otherwise (though it isn't really playable like that). Mega Jump only uses half the screen.
Any way to calibrate the accelerometer?
I don't own a xoom yet but I wanted Pocket Legends to work so I tested at Best Buy and it works very well.
