the only thing i see that i am 90 something percent sure isn't possible is the black buttons with white text. the rest of it should be very doable. looks really cool by the way.
I dont see black buttons, what do you mean?... nice looking theme
Thats a good looking theme....this is off topic so i apologize in advance, but do you live in oceanside?

first screen shot, in the part that displays the carrier name. while the color for that particular button can be modded to be white, if you have the button images that dark of a color, then they will not be visible throughout the rest of the system where black text is used.
Agreed, the white text on button might not be doable, but rest of it seems easy to pull off. I actually have something with the black/cyan color combo in the works, its not what you're looking for but you get the idea.

I do like that launcher bar you have in your mockups though. Sorta wanting to see how it'd look in my theme with some things replaced and changed around now.
But as far as your theme, I'm sure it's highly doable, just need to get a working metamorph and start editing the included image to your liking really.
thanks theme devs!
@david117 So your saying that using black text is easier for developing this theme.
@prash, would you say its easier to create a theme using a metamorph theme as a template and work of it, or would it be eaiser to create a update.zip theme?
one more thing in metamorph it is possible to change the top bar into different colors?
@Raziel07 yes i do live in Oceanside.

Regarding the first response, I think he meant since we have limitations on what text we can change colors of, the black button is possible but the text on top of that will stay black..its not something we can change easily.
As far as metamorph questions, I highly prefer metamorph theme template now a days because it does away with signing and flashing an entire update.zip everytime you change some minor images. The theme in the screenshot is being built using only metamoprh format. Plus theres no need to constantly reboot (unless of course you change something in frameworks) everytime you apply changes. And yes with metamorph you can change top bar into any colors. But the top bar is just an image, you change that and you'll be able to change it anything you like. Just keep in mind all the little icons that go along with it have to change. They're all located in frameworks-res folder.
I suggest if you do go through metamorph method, that you find the black-bar mods theme in metamorph format, it gives you a nice base to start with and it has the white text edits already done for you. This way you don't have to worry about hex editing and such and just focus on changing the images.
My opinion over update.zip or metamorph??
Metamorph
You get a larger group using your theme as to an update.zip.........you limit just to users using a specific rom

last i checked, it is doable. if you change the button to black (status_bar_clear_background or something like that), you can use colorchange to make the clear button text white (clear=FFFFFFFF).
also, as i mentioned in the .Remix theme concept thread. get people to help you in PMs. i'm glad to see that you are willing to take the time to learn themes unlike the other thread. there are many people on here who know how to theme and i'm sure are willing to help you. your theme looks nice and seems very doable to me. good luck to you; hopefully this thread does not become another experion thread.
@Prash i just replaced a few tray/drawer images from Android-2.0-Stock metamorph theme and it worked! im relly excited to see how this turns out. As for changing the font colors i will hold out on that for the moment, i will work around the system font color to make the theme.

@Mickey1022 thanks, i will be heading the metamorph path!!! just bought the donate version on the market.
@Opasha thanks for the help. I will start pm theme devs for further help. I also do not want this turning into a experion thread.

if you need any help as to where things are and how to edit/place certain files, i have some time today and tomorrow. PM me. so far you're doing this the right way with actual edits to the theme. good job. also, edit the battery color to match your teal. it would flow better. since you're going for a sleek look, try adding some gloss to your status bar since the one in your mock up seems too solid (kinda like an in and out gradient black-grey-black...not feeling it IMO). however, it may look nice, i guess the notif icons are messing it up since they have a diff background than the status bar.
I like where this is going..........only one suggestion, make the lockpattern cyan too,,if possible...otherwise awesome job!!!!
Also if you and Prash combine your theme with his icons boy would that be sick...just a suggestion
Opasha, your right some gloss might look good with this.
Currently working on mockup but slowly replacing a few files to Android-2.0-Stock metamorph theme.

yeah he did an amazing job on those. however, since this seems like a sleek look, it'd be nice if he could make new icons to match the sleekness. black and teal icons (if you saw a while ago, randumaccess had found a an icon set from deviant art that was white and teal. if you could find those and invert them and colorize them to black and teal, that would look very nice/modern.

thanks dude .
looking good bro =)
man this looks amazing. keep up the beautiful work.
These Icons were originally developed for Androkkid a launcher that mimics some of the looks and functionality of Android.
These new Icons should work better for those of you who have like me found the standard winmo icon ugly and pixelated.
I have always thought that some of the IPhone's attraction was the beautiful icons that were uniform in size and shape. So I made my own (mostly based on other people's graphic work).
When Androkkid came along I loved the scenic wallpapers you could use but I thought the beautiful scenery of the wallpapers became too cluttered with the IPhone style icons and that the square icons ruined the effect of the beautiful wallpapers. The Iphone style icons were like square holes in the scenery
So these new icons are designed to preserve a uniform style and at the same time be better integrated into the "scenery" by using transparency.
I hope that some of you will have a look at these and tell me what you think
PS If you resize these, their transparency will not work. If they are resized by Androkkid they are fine.
If you want to use these and need other icons, ask me and I'll see what I can do.
I am also releasing a template (see below)with all the frames if others would like to make their own icons, which would be sweet
The template was originally based on blumetalaxe's ireflect template but it's now very different
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Please consider to try them out, I don't think they are as beautifull as some of the Iphone like icons, like the ones made by bluemetalaxe or Stereo's Leopard, but when you see them glide across the scenery in Androkkid they feel much more integrated into the scenery than the Iphone like icons which leave kind of a square hole in the scenery, however beautiful they are.
So what do you have to loose, give 'em a try:

Why do the icons look all "crappy and jagged"?
While I don't agree with that they do look all "crappy and jagged", there is definitely a valid point here.
The answer is that in order for the icons to work everywhere I cannot use gradient transparencies which show up like ugly white spots in some launchers. These semi-transparent pixels are what makes graphics smooth when you shrink them to the small sizes we use for the icons.
When you shrink something against a coloured background like they have in iphone style icons, it isn't a problem, but against a transparent background it is. I've put a lot of effort into making them as smooth as they are now.
For a more detailed discussion and examples of "jagged edges" go to page 10 of this thread.
The Making of an icon
I want to show you guys some of the typical things I do when I set out to make a Transparent Frames icon. I had made an Icon for a Car Profile App but it didn't work well for qvga so I thought I'd make a new one that was more clear and obvious for smaller sizes. My idea was to use a stickshift as a very recognizable object easily associated with cars.
I googled stickshift and after much searching I found the following picture of a Lamborghini stickshift that I really liked:
The only problem was the knob which was stylish but not easily recognizable as part of a stickshift, so I googled some more and in the end I found another knob I liked better:
It was nice and shiny but the "glare" was a little messy and the picture also had a lot of noise so I spent quite some time cleaning the glare from the top of the knob. Maybe the difference isn't so great but I liked it a lot better afterwords(It took quite an effort):
Next step was to remove everything but the knob from the second photograph.
When I had done this very boring task I had to reshape the remaining top of the knob to be much more round in shape,
The result:
Next step is to import the image of the knob as a layer on top the stickshift image and scale and stretch until you're pleased with the result.
Then it's the boring and timeconsuming bit again where I remove all the rest of the picture around the stickshift, and here it is almost finished cleaned:
Next step is to import it into the Transparent Frames Template and then scale it down and try to find the best size against one of the frames.
The scaling down process has ofcourse left a contour of gradient transparencies(semi transparent pixels around the edge of the graphic) so next I switch off the frame again and switch on the purplish background layer and export it as a png with this purple background:
I then remove all the purple while I decide pixel by pixel which semi transparent pixels to keep and which to eraze, to get the graphic to be as smooth as it can be.
In the end I import the graphic back into the template and just switch on an off the different frames and export as a pngs
This is typical of the work behind a new icon. Sometimes it's more work and sometimes it's a bit less.
Thank you for this. Just a little advice from a freezing Netherlands: I think you'd better put some examples in the startpost so people actually can see what they download
Cheers,
Arnold

I have made some new icons as well and have some more planned
UPDATE! the template is finished see post #1
Hi Teacher1960
Beautiful icons This is good work!
BTW I have QVGA, 48x48 is enough for me so I resized them. If you want I can share the Blue icons, and I'm working on the Gold set.
Thanks

Thanks yourself for kind words. If somebody helps me work on these I think that's great, but you should be aware that resizing them might not be as easy as it seems.
When you shrink graphics the graphic program usually avoids pixelation by making semi transparent pixels(gradient transparencies)and winmo doesn't display partial (gradient)transparencies they become "white holes". It also has a problem with the colour white which become "black holes" That's why my transparent icons are so hard to make. They have to be cleaned of all white and all gradient transparencies, checked on the device and then usually cleaned again. so when you resize them they always look fine on the computer but once you use them within a launcher like Androkkid they are full of "holes" so if you check them first on your device then I'm more than pleased to have them on the thread
ps Look out for the the Dirty Steel Frames which I will probably release later today with screenshots
Hi
Thanks for the explanation, I used Gimp resize but you're right I'll install them and see if there's no issues with holes (this was the reason I dropped Androkid).
Will keep you posted

Actually Androkkid resizes these on the fly with no problems at all it's only when you scale them down in a graphic program you get into trouble. I use Gimp myself wonderful software

It looks great I love it everytime I see my icons used on other people's phones.
I only hope it works the same in Androkkid, maybe you can send the resized icons to me then I can check them.
Ps tell me about icons you lack. Like I saw that you had a blank icon for Marketplace. Is that Microsoft Marketplace? because I made one for the app OpnMarket see below
Here you are, if they are ok for you, I'll remove the attachment
(BTW resizing is more important on slower processors like mine)

I tested them and I'm sorry to say that they didn't work.
below you can see the icon test. First your resized icon in the 48x48 size, then the same icon scaled to 96x96, As you can see it is very heavily pixelated. I have then put in my 96x96 icon scaled down by Androkkid to 48x48, you can see that it is mostly fine but some of the topbar has disappeared, in the end you see the original icon.
if you zoom in on your resized icons with the Gimp you can see that they have a lot of semi transparent pixels, so please don't spread these from this thread because I have a strong wish that the icons should work everywhere they use pngs, all kinds of launchers and so on

Everyone using the MIUI roms, have you guys found a theme that DOESN"T have the rounded square icons (or the squared icons)?
I like the way the icons look on regular android, with all different shapes. I really like the look of MIUI roms but hate the fact they all have the icons either the rounded square or the whole square, I really think it looks ugly.
I'm not making this thread to bash android users trying to make their phone slook like iOS. To each their own. I just want the MIUI rom with the regular android icons and haven't found any themes that make this happen.
Thanks guys!
Check Meizu M9 theme.

Made a metamorph, bored while backing up. I didn't add any of the themes xmls though so it may not look the same, tell me what is different and I can see about adding it.
Also, to apply this I had to change up the metamorph time, menu on main screen, bottom bar most of the way to the right...

Its from the Chromatic Rom. It was a lite CM based Froyo build streamlined to run on the G1/MT3G/Magic. Fell in love with the rom and would like to continue the legacy even if only in style. I will check out your links and get back to you. Thanks!

Evil fascination is pre themed so you may want to use stock deodexed frameworks instead
It is prethemed to an extent but my "Blacked Out" theme goes much further into darkening the ROM. I am pretty anal, so I try to take out ALL the little bits that are left behind....
