hey guys recently my speaker on the x1 dosnt work properly it only works wen i push on it but its only on msg tones and ringtones anyone else have this problem i done a hard reset same thing i can play music fine but when it rings it wont work
I don't understand what you mean. Push on it? The speaker comes out of a hole in the side.
i understand what u mean...
these days my speakers wont works unless i put some pressure on the phone (either back or front... )
gonna send for repair
same problem... only works wen i push on the front by the panel button... did u get it fixed??
This is a simple contact problem, you either dropped the phone once too often, or it broke down by itself. If it's the latter, it falls under factory warranty, should grant free repairs.
Open your phone, find where the speakers are at, look at where the metal connectors are, cut out some cushion and place it between the speaker and the wall of the phone housing, reassemble your phone. Problem solved.
Just don't put cushions between the connector and the speaker because there would otherwise be no connection to the speaker and phone.

I have no sound whats so ever?
I think i know the answer to my problem - i'm just not sure how to fix it.
Basically part of my headset is stuck in the headset port. It's the little tiny tip section of the jack end. I think the phone thinks there is a headset plugged in and thats why the speaker is not working - also when taking calls i cant hear the other person and they cant hear me.
Problem is, what do i do about it? It's an awful small jack fitting in the first place - never mind trying to get the smallest part out of that hole?
Any idea's? I want to avoid returning the phone to O2 because when they last had it (the touch screen stopped working) it took 4 weeks before i got it back and I need the phone for GPS everyday!
OOooooo errrr.
Thats got to be the worst of luck.
I can only siggest two possible things to do and they're nasty, very nasty!
1. Get a cocktail stick and dip the smallest possible amount of SuperGlue on the end(and I mean the smallest dribble.) Infact put a drop on a ceramic tile and dip the cocktail stick into it for a really small amount. Then insert and hold for a few minutes. You may have enough bond to ease out the remains.
2. If you dont use the jack you could shove a nail in there and gently wiggle if for quite a while to break the solder points carefuly and then pull the jack off, thus disconnecting the headset.
Sounds rough and nasty but thats what I'd do and then if it failed I'd put the jack on the remaining headset and send it back to O2 for replacement.

your phone can be moist, you should take out battery and use hair dryer to dry the phone in some minutes or put the phone under the 75W bulb for some hours.
if that dusnt work and your speaker actually got wet n buggered up u cud open ur B.A, and very easily remove the speaker, then weld the wires onto a different speaker, then put it all back in n put ur b.a together.
if your speakers buggered then u got nufing to loose, just get a diff speaker from sumwere of about the same size, i've done it heaps on times with other phones, etc.
if you do bugger it up tho take it to a repair place n they'll do it for really cheap.
but thats only if its your speaker thats buggered, if its as the guy above said then eh, this is useless =P.
My captivate's external speaker came loose a few days ago and the sound went dead every time it does. I can temporarily fix it by pressed hard on the back of the speaker and push it back to place however, every time the speaker is so loud (50% or higher) it came loose again. So every time someone call me or the arlam goes off, the sound went dead again.I took my captivate apart hoping I could tighten the loose part but the speaker is just one piece that is all glue together. I'm all for opening the speaker and fix it but Im want to make sure that it is possible. So I just want to know if you can open the speaker and fix this problem, if not is there a place or website that sell replacement for the external speaker? Most of the site I looked only sell stuffs like camera, back covers, and lcd displays.

Hello,
I have the same problem. I just orderd this replacement part:
(www)ebay.com/itm/Louder-Speak-Speaker-Earpiece-Receiver-HTC-HD7-T9292-/180657772289?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a100ad701
(and some replacement tools: (www)ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=170522145519&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
(PS I dont post very often (never) here, so I'm still not allowed to post links... You HAVE to put www in front of the links, otherwise they wont work !!)
In this video someone is disassembling his phone, you can see the speaker when he removes the back of the phone. It doesn't look that hard. You don't have to unplug everything like he does...... It seems like you only have to open the back and then you have acces to remove the speaker.....

I guess it's gonna take a while before my parts arrive. If they do I will post a message wheter the replacements worked or not
Cheers !

Hi,
The replacement part and the replacement tools arrived this week and I just replaced my ear speaker. It was quiet easy actually. The hard part was to remove the bottom part of the back of the phone. Then you can easily remove the screws and the back. It was a bit difficult to remove the ear speaker. First I tried to unplug the speaker, but that didnt work. Then I removed the speaker (I just wiggeld a lot, it was really tight in a small frame) and when it came lose I could unplug it aswell. Then I installed the new ear speaker. The cord of the replacement speaker is a bit longer, so I crolled it on the speaker. Then I set everything back in place and the new speaker works as a charm. It cost me about 30 min (but I was also watching the football match....) and it cost only 4 euro something.
Good luck repairing your phone !

More recently the headphone jack on my Note has not been working correctly unless I push the cable into the jack and then pull with my hand towards the screen (if you can imagine that)
If I dont do this I can still hear something but alot of the sound is muffled and it is a lot quieter, making the music impossible to listen to with out getting frustrated and wanting to throw it at the ground. Sometimes I can get it stuck in the right position and it works fine and I dont need to hold it.
Do you think it is broken or just dirty? I can take it apart and clean it, but I dont think I could replace it?
Any ideas? Have you had this before?

As far as I believe, it may not b just dirty, but the headphone jack has some issues..may b it was only dirty in the beginning, but now headphone jack would have become loose/not fitting the headphone pin correctly, because u are pulling the headphone jack with ur hand towards the screen, everytime..so better option would be service center
Hope I didnt confuse u..
May be 3.5 mm jack has become loose show it to a service center
