yo. i need when i turn off screen wifi dont disconenct.. how i can do it ? its anyoing when still connecting/disconnecting
As always, Google is your friend... find OldSAP Don`t sleep WiFI, or WiFiNoStandby, install, turn ON when you`re WiFi connected and do what you wanna do.
thx.. i was googling but i didnt find it
You can also use the Advanced Config program to make it so the wireless doesn't go into standby. So when you use the power button to switch off the screen, wifi remains connected.

It is in network settings. You can set wifi to turn off after no activity and turn off after a set time out.

Have you tried advanced config but not under main menu:
Menu/More Settings/Connections : Enable WiFi on standby mode.
ahh yea... ty very much work now ... another question.. why my display go off when i am in call .. after 30 seconds.. i cannot end call
Again, Advanced Config has a setting for that, " no sleep during a call "
thx very much..
is it anyway to keep wifi enable when coming out of sleep mode?
wifi settings > advanced > wifi sleep policy
Unless you're talking about staying connected to the network. Mine always d/c even if my wifi is on and it won't automatically connect either.
Im using Perception 10.3 with Speedmod k13b kernal with jl2 modem and when I turn my wifi on and then return to my phone later on, I dont have a connection.
All I have to do is turn it off and then back on again and it starts working but I miss emails, etc while its not working.
It use to work fine then all of a sudden it started doing this.
I have also tried the kp1 and jl3 modems and it does the same thing.
What can I do to keep it connected all the time?
Check the settings under advanced in wifi settings. Wifi might be set to sleep when turned off. Try always on.

I have the Streak 7 without a data plan. I will be using it only on wifi. How do I disable the mobile connection altogether and just have wifi turned on. I figured airplane mode would do this but it also turns off wifi. I would think since planes offer wifi now that airplane mode would disable the mobile radio but keep wifi alive
It does turn off wifi, but you can turn it back on seperately. Each time I power cycle mine, I need to turn wifi back on but that's the only negative.

I have an original Verizon Droid that has been out of service a long time. I'm recommissioning it as a music player for my wife to take to the gym. But when I fire it up, it still thinks it should be an active phone, and Verizon thinks so too; it connects to Verizon's network and is able to make calls.
Right now I have it on Airplane Mode to prevent this, but that disables wi-fi too, and I want it to have wi-fi. Is there a way to erase or reset whatever configuration the carrier gave it, so that it will not try to connect, or at least will not succeed? It's running Cyanogenmod 7, if that makes a difference.
Turn of wi-fi after you turned on Airplane Mode.

No, I want wi-fi ON, not off. I just don't want it connecting to a carrier.
1) Turn Airplane Mode ON (yes, I know this will turn Wi-Fi off)
2) Turn Wi-Fi ON (Wi-Fi will turn on while the mobile connection stays disabled)
