just download an older rom that has it and unzip it, find the apks you want and move them to your sd and use Astro from the market to install them. Hero2 roms have Plurk. Here's the download link http://tinyurl.com/yh3sere

Does anybody know where I can get this? I just got a new Magic because my old one bricked, and I had it on my old one & made a backup on my SD card, but now I can't find it to restore my backup.
I was sure I got it with the fatality hero rom before, but I just installed that on my new Magic & it's not there, and I can't find it in the marketplace either. Does anybody have an .apk of it or mind pointing me in the right direction?
Thanks.
It's in the market, just redownloaded it 2 days ago. Just do a search "backup"

Just looked again, it's not there for me.
I just took another look as well, can't find it any where either. Maybe the Dev is updating or pulled it. You could email him direct. http://blackgins.wordpress.com/

MOD EDIT
Thread moved to Sapphire applications and games forum
Well, you are not only one... i can't download it either...
even http://www.cyrket.com/package/com.bg.smsbk is empty page...
I couldn't find it at the market this morning neither, good thing i have use "Backup for Root Users" to backup the 'apk' which include the app.
I uploaded the version i have here:
Link remove by moderator. If anyone wants it then download it through official channels such as Market or developer.
Removed from the market
The dev might have pulled the app from the market due to bugs, see his blog post http://blackgins.wordpress.com/2009/08/29/news-on-backup-for-root-users/. That post talks about version 3.3, but the last version I've seen in the market (2010-April-02, no updates since) was 4.1.4. I've uploaded it here:
Download Backup for root users 4.1.4 APK
Link remove by moderator. If anyone wants it then download it through official channels such as Market or developer.
NOTE: I've just tested this version on a rooted Nexus One with CyanogenMod 6 RC1, and it couldn't restore the SMSes and MMSes. No wonder the author removed the app from the market. There is still an old version that might work, Backup for root (old).

Does anyone know where I can get the stock Android 2.2 Calendar?
*bump*
Does anyone know where to find an up to date apk file of the stock Android calendar (not the TouchWizCalendar)?
Is there still no better solution than the detour around CyanogenMod?
It's in the App Market.

Thank you for the info, but in my post I asked for the apk, a file which can be downloaded on the PC.
I believe this is it.
Calendar.apk
Here is CalendarProvider.apk just in case you need it.

Thanks again, this is exactly what I need at the moment.
A link to mediafire or any other filehoster is a good solution for the current release. In order to spare you from being bothered again in the future by me or anyone else with the same request I would like to know if there is a "direct source" which always has an up to date version?
I just did a search on Google, downloaded and uploaded it to Mediafire.
Google is the easiest way to get almost any file you need.
Also, most cooked ROMs come with an app folder with all current apps for the OS release.

I did that too, but I did not find any source apart from the cooked ROMs and some filehoster links which did not seem to be very up to date or "official".
Don't keep me in suspense which non-ROM Website did you use as source for the mediafire download link you provided?

I already mentionened, that I want to know if there is a better/more direct solution than following some outdated links posted by users in forums or always checking if an app is included in some mod.
I often come across free apps which can only be downloaded in the market. I already got the market running on the Android emulator (which requires some modifications described in several tutorials). But the market on the emulator does only show a limited number of apps compared to the market on a real mobile phone.
So the motivation of my request is also learning if there is a better solution than the previously mentioned workarounds.

Not that I know. I use the search on this forum and Google.
I found the calendar.apk file here.
Google led me there.
I download some of the new cooked ROMs and look at the files included with them. Sometimes there are newer versions of files. This is not quick or easy, but it's what I do.

Hi guys!
I've just started experimenting with customising a rom to my needs.
I've already added some things i was missing and deleted some stuff i don't use.
but now i want to add some stuff like the xda app and some other stuff.
i searched already but couldn't find anything usefull, or maybe just read over it.
How do i get the .apk files of the app's i want, so i can put them in the rom??
or do i have to create it myself?
and is there a way to get/create .apk files of the app's i previously downloaded from the market?
or is there a better/easyer way to do this?
Thnx in advance!
I've tried a search and I can't seem to find a post about how to make your own themes or modify themes for the GT-I9000.
If there is a post could you point me in the right direction thanks.
I'm sure I've seen a section on this, might be in themes at the top of the page or maybe under development but I'm sure its a sticky somewhere, you could also download a theme package from market
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
well I've looked and can't find it.... if you can find it can you post the link thanks.
Hi all, i have searched the subforums and also since i have less than 10 posts i can't post this in the thread I wanted to.
Question:
I want to flash my hero with liquidsense 2.1.1 with VVM but the linky is dead. POst #444 has a more up to date link but after flashing , the vvm is not there.
Does anyone have the correct zip (Liquidsense 2.1.1 odex + VVM ) and could upload it for me ?
Thanks !
I second this. Anyone have it still?
Just do a search for sprint vvm in the forum or on google. when you find it, it could be a zipped file or apk file. if it's a zipped file, just extract the apk and install it using es file explorer.
Hey everyone I was doing some early spring cleaning on one of my computers and found an old "LiquidSense 2.1.1 Stable 691Mhz Mail+SprintVVM (Odex)-signed.zip" file. PM me if anyone want it.
Hope this helps out for those who don't know how to install apk's. Or anyone else who wants to play with liquidsoltice's file for that matter. He's given permission to do what ever you want to do it in one of the other threads. Just as long as you give him credit.
