Where are WM Marketplace downloads saved to? - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I downloaded a few games from the WM Marketplace and was going to flash my phone. I want to know how I can back up the data from my games that were downloaded from the marketplace so that my progress won't be lost? In other words, what folder are WM marketplace downloads saved to?

The .cab files are automatically deleted after the install. People have found ways to hack that process and get .cab files, but you can check the thread in "General" for that.
The games are installed in the "Program Files" folder in main storage. I guess you should check for any files that save your progress there.

the marketplace software - windows dir
software downloaded from market place - program files (on phone).
If u have the xda patched marketplace u can download to the sd card. so it would be on program files (on sd card)
all cabs are auto deleted after the software is installed for piracy reasons.
i expect anything bought on the marketplace is registered on your live account and will let u re-download to your phone.

the patched marketplace cab lets u save the downloaded software to your sd card (not the cab).
there is a way to get the cab but no one is allowed to say but its pretty easy. but they complain the software is not very good to stop piracy but there are a million websites with cracked cabs so if anyone wanted cracked software they could get if within minutes through google.

i was trying to find the cabs too... but mos of what i see was a tmp file...
but you could find the setup xml in \Windows\AppMgr, search for the files and compile it..?

could anyone please post the hack wich saves the cab files? Thanks

TomTom Problems

Ive searched the forum for a couple of hours and i cant find a solution to my questions so i thought id create a new thread.
i have downloaded TomTom, i have the .cab file and the .exe file but neither seem to work.
when executing the .exe file i get to the window where it says 'modify, repair, delete' and then the programs closes. if i pick modify it asks me to do a soft reset, which i do and then nothing happens again after that.
when trying to install the .cab it says i need to update my rom version.
i have just flashed duttys 6.1 rom so wondering what could be the problem?
i have been trying to install tomtom for some time now and i would appreciate any help.
cheers
Hi
What .exe file r u talking about? You only need to copy the .cab file to your phone first, then run it from your phone. As for maps use tomtom HOME software...go to tomtom web site to get it..& install on your comp then use it to install the maps. There's a freebie small map to try though with tomtom if it's your first time using it.

The posted thread doesn't relate to the original problem. He can't install the tomtom software. Make sure you have version 6.032.8351 tomtom .cab
My tomtom works just fine.
as stated above my question is not answered, and yes i have searched for hours.
i have the 'Installer_Kaiser_ttn_6_032_8351_HTC_WWE_20070716' .exe file that someone posted on another thread somewhere on here but i cant seem to find it anymore...and i also have the 'ttn_6_032_8351_HTCWWE_Kaiser' .cab file...i know these are just two different types of installation, im just explaining that i have both, and im having trouble with both.
i know that you just put the .cab on the phone and it installs but i get the error message saying a rom needs to be updated.
and with the .exe file do i need to download anything extra before executing it from my pc?
thanks

OK let me clarify this. YOu have flashed dutty 6.1 ROM on your phone successfully correct? If so...
the posted .exe you don't need it..to install tomtom software
and the .cab file posted the name of it doesn't look right..
if you have an email address I can try to email the one I use for you.

that link above is pretty interesting...never encountered that. Kill all apps that could be causing conflict. If that still doesn't work, try using another cab. I have WM 6.1 3.02 version and mine works totally fine.

or you can check whether the ROM is US compliant, this is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432707 the good example where to start. UC is good as it is much simple but needs UC compliant ROM and CAB cannot be installed to SD cards. Sashimi offers more flexibility but ...
I wonder was the attachment the Mod removed SASHIMI? I've been looking for that CAB all over since Bengliah has apparently been banned.....I found another site http://www.winmo-experts.com and Bengliah is there and talking about SASHIMI but I still can't seem to find that CAB in that forum. :x
While Bengliah thought he got treated unfairly here ( water under the bridge for both sides I had hoped, but apparently not) and does not wish any of his work posted here, he still has a great program in SASHIMI. And is more than happy to share it and support it on his site.
Just join his forum here and share his great work.

help creating Cab from OEM Package

Hi I am trying to create CABs from OEM Package. The cabs i want to create are below.
This Touch HD is a Orange branded phone and the HTC Streaming Media is removed by Orange. I do not at this point want 2 do a Rom upgrade.
I have tried various Streaming Cabs form this forum. The streaming cabs that do work will only stream over GPRS and not wifi.
I tried duttys streaming cab but get error of file type not supported, which i presume is because the StreamingSrcFilter is not present.
1. PACKAGE_BlackStone_StreamingMedia_HTC_All
2. PACKAGE_BlackStone_StreamingMedia_HTC_All_0409
3. PACKAGE_BlackStone_StreamingSrcFilter
4. PACKAGE_BlackStone_StreamingSrcFilter_0409
I have looked about the forum and cannot seem to find infromation on
OEM Package > Cab there is infromation on Cab > Package.
I will pay to be pointed in the right direction
Kind regrads
There are tools for this, although I've never used them personally. I don't know how well they work, I do it manually with WinCE Cab Manager.
Normally I'm creating cab files manually using WinCE CAB Manager.

I can't imagine that the application has any problem with wifi. Is your wifi set up correctly? Maybe you have some network issues (no nameserver, or something like that)?

I belive its the custom brarnding done by Orange, They installed PVplayer 2 do the streaming this was optmized for the Orange TV (subscription service)
Orange must have configured the connections so that the streams are done over Wifi rather than GPS.
I have added the connection packages that I think will remove this barnding if you could you also make these into cabs for me.
I am sorry to hijack this thread but i have been trying to convert a package to a cab for installation and so far i have been unsuccessful
I use WinCE cab manager to import the files but how exactly do you find the registraty entries relevant for each package?

Hi I have installed them and there were no problems. But they did not solve me issues with the phone using GPRS even though a WiFi connection is available. I used a dummy GPRS connection and streaming over Wifi works.
So some where on the phone Orange must give a preference to use GPRS.
If you could create these cabs that i will attache I will see if this solves the problem.
I did another search on the forum and for bbc iplayer problems and pointed to this thread. the post i did is

Again thanks

You don't need any initflashfiles in order to create cab files. initflashfiles are useful when you create oem packages out of cab files .
But I guess these packages won't solve your problems, normally something like that is done with some registry entries.
Why you don't just use an unbranded rom?

Thanks for the information Johnpatcher. I was extracting the rgu file and somehow it was not showing as extracted in the folder because of my folder view settings! duh

Either you have done something wrong , or you security policy isn't right, you can adjust it using Advanced Config or HDTweak.

I have checked the security policy and through Advance Config i have disabled the checking certificate notification when installing so no issues there. The problem arises after the cab is installed when i am trying to run the application i get the error message.

get ready for some more jibba jabba. Be sure your phone is allowed to install non-market apps. Do this by selecting Options then Applications, then make sure you select the check box next to "Unknown Sources".
Next download the .apk and load it onto your SD card. After thats done go ahead and download Astro file manager from the Marketplace. With me so far? Good. Once you have astro installed launch it and look for the .apk you placed on your sd card. If you did everything properly then you will be able to select the .apk and press Install.
Hope that helps

I'm tracking on what your saying and totally understand but where can I download the myfave.apk file from? Thanks again,it's very much appreciated!
short answer: you cant.
the myfaves app is an odex file, completely different ballgame. basically, nobody has found a way of incorporating it into roms yet and t-mobile never put it on the market like their other apps.
regardless, unless youre using the myfaves app for the interface, its useless anyway. set your myfaves through t-mobile.com and then set up direct call links on your desktop using anycut or bettercut.

MyFaves?
OK,one more question. I've been trying to modify things and trying to figure out how to do this. Does anybody know how to use apps2sd to move the myfaves.apk or the odex file or whatever to the sd card? Basically like moving an app to the sd but with the myfaves app? Anybody understand what I'm saying? Just curious. I'm trying to figure this out so that I can try to port it to a Hero build. I'm kinda at a dead end here.Any help is appreciated.
in windows you have to have "show file extensions" enable in the view tab of Folder Options

I have myFaves already,I'm trying to figure out how to move it to the SD Card like apps2sd would do. When I use apps2sd though it does not move MyFaves to the SD card. I think if I could figure this out and get it to work I MAY(not for sure) would be able to port it to a hero build.IDK. I'm just trying anything to get it ported right now.I'm working hard on this and racking my brain and searching and looking and scouring for answers. Thanks for your input though.
