You rock. Trying this now and will report back.
Flashing went fine. Just a couple apps won't install, and I can't figure out a solution that will work. But, the new look is satisying enough for me. Thanks!

Yeah, I just had the same issue with Angry Birds Seasons... maybe trying a data or cache clear on the market will help, haven't tried yet though.
You can just hit the thanks button too btw And, you're very welcome.
ok, just cleared data for market... Settings > Applications and fixed angry birds seasons for me, might want to try that.
I did not thank you with the button, as I did it through words, and I was in a rush. I'll try the clearing method and see what happens.
good stuff!
one thing you may want to add to your updater-script....
delete("/system/app/com.android.vending.apk")
and/or
delete("/data/app/com.android.vending.apk")
delete("/data/app/Vending.apk")
i know that some older versions of DT a2sd used to put an "extra" vending file in the data/app directory... and some ROMs (like my RCMix... which does use an updated market), have the "com.android.vending.apk" file instead of "Vending.apk"

Ahh, good to know, thank you.
Updated script and added the blue themed market to the op also... thanks again for the heads-up Tenzo.
People seem to be having FC issues with this, I am not. I will look into it more tomorrow. You can take the .apk out of the zip and place it in system/app with a file manager that can gain root or push it there with adb, that should work for sure. If you are STILL having FC issues... I'd stick with the older Market.
force closes
Ya I've tried all the different zip files for this on the forum and they all cause force closes. I would try the market fix but I cant download it off the store unless someone has an apk
This seems to be working great for me I installed and haven't noticed any problems as of yet.
Installed on KaosFroyo v38 with CFSv9 with no problem.
thanks for the blue one, works great and iv got a black/grey/blue theme thing going on
XDA droid eris forums are amazing keep it up
market opens up but every time I pick an app to download it force closes.
Just force closes on me as well, any updates to get this going?
Works just fine for me on CELB 3.9. Had to wipe the dalvik cache to get it to get past "starting download".
I just dropped it in system/app through root explorer, changed the permissions, and restarted instead of flashing. Loving the look of the blue themed one. I like the look of the update in general, but it sucks knowing that the looks came at the cost of 23 hours and 45 minutes worth of trial time for apps.

I totally agree. They could've made it at least 30mins or 1 hour. But it was mostly game makers screaming about refunds after 24hrs because so many people would beat the games within that time and refund. But, they didn't have to be so extreme with the change to 15 mins... is Steve Jobs working over there under the table?
The original market looks better in my opinion. The new one is nice but it cuts the screen more than half with the coverflow style and ads.
Wiped the cache and data for the market app and broke it. FC's now every time. Had to replace it with the old one with root explorer.
Hello you all, I'm looking for the "USA Today for Tablets" App - only the version for smartphones will show up in the market... Hope anyone can upload the APK for me and all the others!
Thanks!
Google can be helpful!!! https://market.android.com/details?id=com.usatoday.android.tablet.news
If all would be so easy Guess what? I've tried that already but it won't let me install the app to my device. That is the reason why I've come here and asked to the apk

I went into the market on my Xoom, went to the Featured Tablet Apps section, and it was right there at the bottom. It installed fine.
How are you not seeing it in the market? When you try to install it from the website (the tablet app linked by handshake87) it should show you your tablet as an option to install it to. If you can't install it to the tablet it should have a reason shown as to why you can't.
If you can't install it from the market or the website then you have another issue you should probably look into. Since I just installed it I can get the APK using titanium if you still need it.
I think the problem might be that I'm accessing the store from Germany and it's a branded T-Mobile device...
So how about anyone uploading the APK for me? Would really appreciate it!
The apk might not work since it's coming from a U.S. xoom versus your version.
I would love to try if anyone would upload the apk
Not responsible for what happens if you try using the file (e.g. soft/hard brick, bootloops, etc.), but here you go from a U.S. wifi version.

If you're getting the error in the market that says something about the app not being available for your carrier, you may want to try what i had to do on my x10. If you're on AT&T in the US and try searching for tethering apps they are not there. So what I ended up doing was putting my phone in airplane mode and using wifi (removing the sim card and working on wifi does the same thing) and once I did that, the apps would show.
So if the apk file posted doesn't work for you (i see no reason why it shouldn't) try removing the sim from your xoom, connect to the internet over wifi, and look in the market again.
I cannot install it from the Play Store, as my country has no support for many Goggle apps. So I went to find an .apk and installed it, but if force closed on me after opening the app. Tried another one, FC again, but the third one worked... somewhat. I can install it, open it, but when it asks me to turn it on in the settings, I cannot do that, because it is not present there. I mean, the hell?
Any ideas?

No problems for me
I recently flashed TexasIce so i could have ICS. And pretty much everything is working fine. the only problem that i came across is that apps such as the play store and snapchat, simply force close on clicking. They don't show any warning or errors, just disappear. How can i fix this? Someone please help

Yes, for some people their google credentials get messed up when play store installs. Just open google talk and sign in, it makes the rest of the google apps work, including play store. worth a try...
ps.
but nightlies by evervolv works even better than ics

TexasICE's ICS ROMs are pretty old right now. They might be having bugs which are long gone in the latest JB ROMs by Evervolv (again texasice) team. You should give that a try instead of this one.
Thanks a lot for all the help guys! Turns out I just needed to do a custom install and make sure that the default google apps were installs during the installation! Thanks again

Anyone know how to get Minecraft Earth to work on the Razor phone 2. Apparently there are files missing on this phone that Minecraft Earth needs to work on this phone so now it won't show up in play store.
Super late reply. Not sure if you already figured this out. Only way I was able to get it to work was to go to APK pure and download AR Core version 1.19.202100823, that is the only one that worked. Once that is installed you can go back to apk pure and get the latest APK for Minecraft Earth.
