ya i unrooted my phone like 10 mins ago and i was from rc 29 and then flashed cupcake (us) right after i flashed cupcake i got a downloade now or later screen for donut and know i got DONUT on a non rooted phone
ummm skater what the hell are you talking about t-mobile sent out ota for donut so what difference does it make it you have a unrooted phone
from what i have heard, there is not an ota for the uk yet, and @skater
people are getting ota's for donut in uk
its still random but you can check tmo forums and see if anyone posted a link

Yea..i said i have CM 4.0 or something. Its rooted I just don't know how to upgrade firmwares since you cant get an OTA update with rooted.

Alright thanks guys, that's what I thought but I was just making sure.
with going with cyan 4.1.999, you have to grab the adp1.6 image then flash it, flash cyan on top of it and then do a wipe otherwise you will get force closes like a dirty *****

That image is the HTC image right? The one that the steps for going to 4.1.999 say to install first?

also you can use the singleflash rom

Hi iam very new to flashing android devices...I. recently flashed RC29 to my G1...all I. Wanna do is revert back to cupcake 1.6...please if anyone can help me it would help me.... I've download different updates but I keep receiving this error in recovery mode : E: can't find /recovery/ sumthing...please help...I've spent the last 3 days trying todo this on my. Own but all I wanna do is go back to 1.6 cupcake....I can't download on my computer so I can't use megaupload sites througgh my G1 browser..so please if you have links...
you have 2 options:
flash dreaming.nbh back to rc29 and wait for the ota
or
download cupcake manually
rename to update.zip
alt + w
then
alt+s
then
home+back to reboot

Sounds to me like he wanted to root but hasn't put a root recovery on yet.
either root or wait for the ota update. you can not flash an update.zip unless it is an official watermarked rom or you are rooted

Flashed android to my Tilt and I'm stuck with an old bootscreen from a PDAnet rom.
Does anyone have a replacement boot screen that replaces any old one from past roms? Preferably something android related that can be flashed over top of the android rom.

It may be to do with flashing but you have not produced an android or WM build so is not Development... So is general and as stated you could ask in one of the many android dev threads.

So getting the OTA would mean losing root and 2.1 bummer. So much for even the thought of returning to stock when the OTA comes out.
Calls and MMS seem to work fine when I send them to my GFs inc.
