The desperate measure would be to disassemble the phone again and then reassemble it. Deserves another attempt... on your risk

hy guys...i try to reassemble my X1 three times but nothing...
Ask: in your opinion if i send my X1 to Sony they can fix it or my guarantee warranty expired???

same thing happened to me, but it just need little bit harder push on hardware antenna to click on place ( like i said that worked for me).

Thanks Sapa13...i will retry...

PLEASE HELP!! cant connect to the network :(

Hey everyone ..
i was using my Blueangel normaly and so happy with it until i faced this problem before 2 days ..
I was texting my gf while i was out and kept on even though the battry gave me a warrny that its really low .. i ignored and kept SMS's her until it went off.
i went home charged my device but its not connecting to the network. it shows either "No Service" (where it shows X beside the signal tower) or "Searching" (where it shows ! beside the signal tower).
Please anyone knows how to turn it on im really in a bad situation here.
Note: just to let you know im using WM5 Hemi's rom and upgraded it today to Xplode's rom just hoping it would help.
Well when i tried another sim on my blueangel it worked and my sim card on another mobile it worked also. im really losing my brain
44 views no one have a slight idea..
anyways thanks alot everyone for visiting
Hi,
All I can suggest is to re-install radio rom! prob 1.15.
If not that then ensure flight mode is NOT active, and battery's fully charged
Also when you reset BA, on first screen does the R show a none?
If so reset, twice, its a common problem with BA and WM5, it isn't able to intialise the radio rom before WM5 boots.
It seems wierd that another sim worked on your BA, must be a faulty/damaged sim.
I also note you've tried the non-working sim on another phone and that works! Wierd that too!
Hope that helps,
Sunny
Have you tried to manually select the network in the "Phone" settings screen? I've heard of similiar problems being fixed by that.
well after i asked here and there and got disappointed with I-Mate people.. they know nothing at all
an IT in my company told me the problem is with my sim card. its damaged cause of the change in the battry power (as he says) it damaged the frequency that my mobile use to read the sim so there for it would work on any mobile except mine.
so i would change the sim but it needs me ages to get free and do that.
THANKS ALOT TO EVERYONE ATLEAST READ MY THREAD OR TRIED TO HELP
YOU GUYS HERE ARE THE BEST
By the way
sunny: the Radio is already 1.15 from ages. but thanks alot for trying to help me.
Fraser: I tried to manualy select the network but it says there is no network which is funny cause there is 4 networks in my area.. actuly im working with the same operator so im inside the tower LOL. the signal streth is the best here.
Thanks alot mates
No problem!
Thats what we're here for!

Same problem
I once had the same problem. Now I'm no genius when it comes to these phones and it actually took me a whole week to get an idea of what the hell happened to my phone. Basically, these phones are Quad Band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) and for some reason after I upgraded I lost my signal. I found a little application that let me reselect my band (its not built into windows for some reason) and that solved my problem. I just selected "Auto select" and the problem was solved after a soft reset.
Now, I can not remember what that application was but maybe that can give you an idea of what to search for.

Hi, is there more 'democratic' way to resolve this issue than reseting BA twice?
After installation of xplode's R4 for noobs an old version of R 1.06 was left on BA. Thinking that this was a reason for No Service of the phone I dumped latest R , but double f..reseting necessity still persists ...
Is that a normal thing to reset twice such an advanced device when you want even just to call smbdy? Thanks
there is a lil bug in my roms, after totally draining both bateries when you power it on it says NONE for radio you have to soft reset it again in order to work. I have never had a band selection problem but it is possible reason for this

Hi hi there! First of all please accept my deepest appreciation for such a great work you have done to make us - PPC ordinary users - little bit more happy Just one small note - is it possible to upgrade your downlodable R4 file with all necessary ROMs - Radio, etc., etc. With the intention that every Noob trying to upgrade his/her BA, should do it in a push of one button - not searching for separate latest ROMs and HowTo instructions? Thanks for your time!
P.s. Sorry it seems came out little bit off topic....
well it is possible but i have no time to do it. or you can try to copy the radio nbf file into the folder of the nk.nbf and run the upgrade utility
Any solution on this matter ? I am using Helmi MW6 ROM with radio 1.15.00 and i'm having the same problem.
I've searched the forum but found no solution yet.

You're funny: your thread title says your Diamond is broken.
Then, you tell us how it fell down the stairs and you can't make WiFi work.
What do you think we can do for you?
Your Diamond apparently needs repair, you can't repair hardware with software, so your post is pretty much pointless, sorry to say that.
Or maybe try throwing it upstairs, it might do the trick..... But do it with wifi disconnected!
(It's how I try these days to recalibrate the gsensor...)

ROFL!!
thanks for the funny answer guys ...
The question is maybe someone as already disassemble it and the wifi part could be disconnected by the shock ...
Or by software .. make a sort of hardware diagnostic ..
I live in a bungalow for just that reason. However you could take a look at the Diamond service manual which is available to download from the wiki.

Try looking in here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Service_Manual
This may have some answers for you. Hope this helps.
If I remember correctly, the Bluetooth/Wifi antenna is a combined one. If both fail, I guess it's just disconnected or the connection is severed.

Dead Wlan

I'm having a problem with my Kaiser, WiFi does not turn on. And I don't mean I can't connect, I mean it doesn't turn on. Searching on the forum I found this threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420868&highlight=turn+wifi (This one even has a video showing what happens when trying to turn WiFi on)
And
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381370&highlight=turn+wifi
But there is no solution for the problem on any of them.
I've already flashed tons of differents SPLs, radios and ROMs, soft/hard reseted and even did a "task 2a" (wich whiped everything, bricking my Kaiser. Thanks jockyw2001 for FrankenKaiser!). None of this made my WiFi work.
On the Hermes forum I've found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=322225
Could this be what happened to my Kaiser? Can anyone help me fix it?
Thanks!

Thank you, but that guy's WiFi turns on and doesn't find any networks. My WiFi does not turn on. On the other hand, if your pourpose was to tell me that my WiFi is "broken" I would like to know what is broken so I can fix it. Thanks!
The number 3 capacitor is fried on the wifi card.
Maybe my mindset is too simple, but I always think that if (on a device like this) you reload fresh software over and over that is known to work, and the device doesn't work, then the device is broken. There are no dip switchs or knobs to turn, no drivers to reload (because you just reloaded them by reinstalling the ROM). Maybe you can reseat the device. Take a look at the disassemble guide and see.

Will do, thanks for the advice!
What about this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=322225
Don't you think it's worth a try?
I would suggest you ask Drummer10630 or someone like Chainfire, if that is a bad idea. It looks like it could work with the right files.
I wouldn't want to suggest you zap your phone more then it's already zapped.

Here you go at it again.
TILT doesn't have a WiFi card or WiFi adapter as you keep on calling it.
Here is an advice for you: if you don't know the answer, don't answer the question.
hth
Oh then what should I call the wireless thing? Does it work on magic?
If you're so freakn smart why isn't your wireless working?
I got same problem which cannot turn on WIFI, almost seach all the solution about this problem and send my device to repair to find the hardware problem , but still cannot work, i give up already. fortunately, I know how to make it work sometime, there has some experience about it,hope it can help you.
. turn on the SYNC connectoin option Allow wireless connection
. pull up battery for 30 second.
. hardrest after refesh new rom.
but those for my device only can work for once, after device sleep cannot turn on again, or freezen and after soft rest, wifi cant turn on again.

GPS problem!

Hey everyone!
I just got back my Diamond from repair because of the display oil patch (got a new one). Well, I tried to acticate the GPS but I don´t get a signal. Tried everything I found in this forum to solve the problem: aGps enabled/disabled, Quick GPS, HTC GPS Tool, tried many roms and radios..., etc
When I start the HTC GPS tool, i don´t even get those red dots (satellites). What do you guys think, is it broken or anyone another idea?
Thanks alot
Same problem
hi,
I've sent my diamond to a authorized rapair center once because of a boot problem.
When i got it back everything seems to work fine again.. but the next day i tryed to use Tomtom and it didn't work..
After that i'v been searching on the net, trying to solve my problem.
I've downloaded many programs but couldn't find out what the problem was.
After a month of irritating that the gps didn't work, i send it back to the repair center and waited for 1,5 week. When i got it back, everyting worked fine. I think it was a hardware problem because they didn't instal a fresh rom or anything.
I'm not saying that you have to sent it back right away, but consider it could be the same "thing" i had.
It could save you a lot of time searching, downloading programms, or what ever..
The most usefull program i used to see if it worked or not was: VisualGPSce
http://www.visualgps.net/VisualGPSce/default.htm
Goodluck with it!

Broken WiFi for htc Diamond :(

Hi guys, I mingled with my phone last night and installed this android build i saw on neopeek, it said it has 3d drivers and camera working so i thought idd give it a shot. I installed it and it worked pretty fast , then i wanted to download an app and started wifi.
It took longer than usual to activate so i went to settings (i activated it from the power control widget 1st) to check out whats going on. And wifi it was saying activating .. error. I tried a few times when i said to myself , oh well, good build , but wifi aint working.
I returned to windows mobile and now i cant activate it anymore not even in windows mobile. I tried everything, soft reset, hard reset, installed a stock rom, nothing works
can anyone help me ? is it broken hardware ? should i use the heat gan on the wifi chip ? what should i do ? thanks
this is what the guy says to do
tampitzel wrote:
hi, i installed your rom, replaced the kernel for the camera to work, and i tried logging into wifi, it said error. i returned to windows mobile and now the wifi doesnt work in windows mobile either. is there something i can do ? thx
i remember that in early version it happens. I thinks the solution was to reset our device until windows recognize wifi.
i tried everything, soft reset, hard reset, installed a different rom with new radios, nuthin` worked. I think the wifi is broken hardware
Also When im in windows mobile and i go to device information , i can see the bluetooth mac address, i cant see wifi anywhere in the hardware tab
Sorry for editing once again , just wanted to say i tryed MTTY format + ROM installation, and its the same, i guess its hardware broken and i need a heatgun, will post updates, if anyone cares
200+ views and no answer. Thats pretty sad, i guess im posting so i can bump it in front, maybe someone sees it and can help somehow.
you don't see wifi MAC address under hardware..
I had same problem, changed bottom buttons(contains wifi chip as well) and now working
I changed them because they had pretty bad scratches.
you can get those pretty cheap on ebay.
if reassembing, make sure you connect screen and buttons ribbon cable(they don't snap in)
solved
Okay first of all i would like to thank the person who posted an answer , it really helped.
I didnt even buy new buttons, i just disconnected the phone from all the connectors (display, buttons, etc.), and reconnected. It was really hard reconnecting the display but i did it in the end. Now wifi works once again !
One happy camper here !
If you guys have the same problem , and have enough patience to disassemble and reassemble , this is your answer !
Mods, you can rename this one as solved
