Anyone think its possible to port the hero widgets to 1.5(any version)?
No, they are dependent on Rosie.

Rosie widgets are the same as the Open Home/aHome/etc widgets that come with the programs.
They're dependent on Rosie to run. Its a layer over the actual home screen.
Damn that sucks .. I was really feeling that twitter and message widget while using hero
Hi,
This is correct and confirmed.
I am currently using Hero with Rosie replaced by the standard launcher.apk and the widgets do not work that previously did work with Rosie.
Also you cannot install Rosie, a home replacement, on another htc firmware.
I tried this on Haykuro 5.02h r4.
This will also not work.
That should clear this up.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for this please? Searched for it and only found for 2.1 which is boot loop central. Thanks in advance.
Oooh, also interested. I tried two 2.1 lockscreens but yeah, both boot loop central.
Not yet. Just a matter of time but right now people are focusing on just getting Froyo stable rather than theming it.

Pfff. Who cares about stability if I cant have my OSU rotary lock screen?
Any update on froyo rotary lock.
Anyone got the rotary lock working yet?

Does it give a rotary lock screen? To me it just looks like it enables widgets on the lock screen.
LockBot works well on my Nonsensikal Froyo Eris. Lets you choose between iPhone, HTC Hero, Eclair (Rotary), Froyo, Xperia, and Galaxy S style lockscreens (last three are for the Pro only version). Not only that, but it lets you customize each of those pretty extensively.
Is there any way at all to get the HTC Clock app into Froyo? Not the widget, just the clock app. I want it because it's so much more full-featured than the default Android clock app.
It's seriously the only thing holding me back from going back to CM6. I loved everything else about Froyo.
Any advice? Or does this fall under the "Sense has not been ported over to Froyo" stance? I just want to know if the HTC Clock apk can just be tweaked to run on Froyo as well, since it's not a widget.
I know Regaw is trying to port sense to 2.2, but I use beautiful widgets and launcher pro plus. I would recommend buying these 2 apps and run CM6.

Indeed, I heard he is trying port as well, but I don't quite care about the Widgets. I still have my copy of Fancy Widget (which was/is free) and I bought a copy of LPP. The only thing is that it doesn't solve my issue, I really really like the clock app from sense. It had not only alarms, but a desk clock function, but a world clock, a stopwatch and even a countdown timer. I use all of those pretty frequently.
Actually, maybe, if you're using Froyo, you can rip the Clock apk from a sense rom and see if it runs in Froyo?
download iclock from amith gc found in market. The only thing it is missing is desk clock. Can't find one that isn't for HTC Sense

Well, I can't . The market is down, At any rate, I'm not looking for a widget, I have Fancy Widget, which looks exactly like the HTC Sense Clock Widget, and even let's me configure the tap zones (like saying, tap the clock and launch the clock application).
Problem is, I want that same clock app in Froyo, because then, I can finally leave Sense UI behind.
I too have been looking for the sense clock. I really liked the timer/stop watch it had. I used it all the time. I tried to find the .apk from other sense roms but everything I tried gave me errors and would not run. Some of the .apk's wouldn't install at all. I'm guessing they would have to be ported some how and thats way over my head.

I'm also very interested with this. I totally prefer the HTC Clock over the standard android clock. Timer and stopwatch is a must for me.
im pretty sure the SENSE clock has different framework then the stock android. i could be wrong but yes you would have to use an app to get it.
There's an app 'Stopwatch & Timer' that seems to work fine. I know not everyone wants separate apps but I don't even get cake, let alone the opportunity to eat it too.

HTC clock will not work on cm6, as it is built on the sense framework and cm6 is AOSP. About the best you'll get is fancy widget, though, beautiful widgets is a fine replacement. Sadly, nothing that I've found has all of the functionality of the sense clock. :-(

Sense Clock
If anyone figures this out I want it too. I've been scouring the web for hours since I rooted my phone trying to find the desk clock/world clock/ stop watch/timer/alarm clock...I can't believe no one else has come up with a way to put all of those together in one app...
Does anyone else have an issue with LP not working right at boot up...it prompts me to wait or force close....I choose close and then it works fine till my next reboot...
Sent from my HTC Hero with Froyo...
that happens to me on my evo if I touch the screen while it's still wrapping up booting.
I just hit the wait button and it's all good within a few seconds.
Obviously these phones display the homescreen before they finish booting
I will just wait it out then...thanks

love launcher pro...I woudl like to find a way to remove ADW all together once their is a stable RC. ADW still runs even though I have Launcher Pro set as default. I have to force close it every morning.
I already have removed adw and now that I am being patient at boot up I am having no further issues

will this work with the froyo roms available for the hero?
Thanks in advance
I've just tried the launcher with my FroydVillain 1.5 Hero, but it buged out the launcher at the bottom.
I installed the ADW launcher in the zip and tried with that, but for some reason I had my phone icon and browser icon overlaying the sense phone and the adw settings button. I have uninstalled, but will be giving it another go at some point. You never know, it could well work for you!

Same! What do you think is causing that , the best i could do to fix it was turn the size down of the buttons in the menu
Not sure what causes it. Going to he doing some looking thus weekend if I manage to get some free time.

Update - didn't have any free time! Don't know what i was thinking that I would!
Anyways, I have downloaded the ADW theme template in eclipse to see what controls what with the themes - this will likely take me an age... I apparently do not have any time!
Anyone else have any updates to this? Really want to get this working as it would kick ass with widget locker and fancy widget!
