Hey guys, this is my first attempt at making any type of theme so bear with me. Any help you guys can give would be great! I'm giving credit to persiansown, as I am taking the images directly from his Blur ROM, but also thanks to any other devs that worked on porting MotoBlur =)

ok, I found an easy way to take them with an app =) I'm uploading them now, I'll edit OP when done.
I'm working on a new dialer right now, because the stock one pisses me off... Does anyone know how to get into all the Blur images for the launcher, btw? I'm trying to find the images for the app dock and stuff, but everything I have is odexed and I can't seem to find it...
EDIT: Ok, I've run into a bit of a snare. I edited the dialer keys, but they are only showing up on the dialpad that is used in-call. They looks great, but I can't find where to put the images to have them replace the normal keys too. Thanks =)

you need to edit phone.apk and contacts.apk.
ok, I got the dialer working, I also got the app launcher skinned and the blur backgrounds added. If all goes well, then this will be close to 0.3!

very nice theme. i got tired of all the "black" themes and gave this one a try. seems like there are a couple of bugs though, Gmail (process com.google.android.gm) force closes every time i try to open it. when i first boot up, i get this message process com.google.android.partnersetup has stopped unexpectedly.
and a couple of minor suggestions, i really like the see through window shade and wondered if it's something that you can modify on this one. and the black font on the steel gray buttons can be hard to read.
i look forward to future updates, but for noe, i'm going back to the base theme.
Thanks for the feedback yeah, I had planned on changing the buttons a bit to make them more easily readable. I had problems with a few apps at first too, but I did a full wipe and reinstalled and it works now. Does anyone know how to change the text color on the buttons without changing all of the text on the device?
Yeah, I should've wiped, but have wiped each of the last two days and honestly didn't feel like doing it again

I have no idea how I would do that, haha. Hey when you talk about the see-thru window shade, do you mean the notification drop down? I might look into making that a bit transparent, it would be cool. For now, I'm trying to get all of the motoblur images into it first, then I can start tweaking my own stuff into it =) I already know I'm gonna need to revise the dialer, is there anything else you guys would like to see in this?
Ok, just finished up v0.4 I edited the dialer, fixed the warp home screen tab, and a few other things. Uploading now!
EDIT: Ok, scratch that. It needs some more work, some of the images are distorted. I'll post back when it's done =)
man i love your theme...its perfect, the thing i don't want to change is Home screen. Keep this launcher, plz don't put this transparent launcher that we can see in others themes.

I'm not sure why my phone doesn't like this theme. Had same issue as before, so I fixed permissions and nothing. So I decided to wipe and got a black screen after the splash screen. The animations are sweet, hopefully futures releases will play better with my g1

I would try repartitioning, but I understand if you don't want to do that =) I'm uploading a slimmer version without all of the unused apk's, maybe this will play nicer? Try doing a complete wipe and flashing this new one afterward

What ROM are you using? You might want to try it out once I upload the slim versions to see if it works. I don't know if it would or not to be honest.

Hey thanks for the suggestions and link to that wallpaper. I'll definitely include it. I hadn't decided on the color scheme yet. I threw that wallpaper on just to have something to show for the screenshot. I had just wiped,etc. and flashed the latest SenseHero.
I'm still working on the icons. Trying to come up with ideas for the apps I havent completed yet. I already finished Maps and Voice search but I did something wrong and the icons didnt change when I flashed. Maybe I forgot to add the apk's in ._.'

YES! FINALLY SOMEONE IS THEMEING FOR SENSEHERO! imo its the fastest/smoothest hero rom out there, and the fact that the new update lets us CHOOSE what bfs kernal we want....anyways, i really like the icons, but yeah maybe a darker app menu? are you going to customize the htc.ime at all?

Yes. I do plan on customizing the HTC.ime. I'm thinking either darker keys, transparent background or both. Question though, what do you mean by darker app menu?

As you can see by the picture in the link you posted, for example the Music icon, some pictures I found fit perfectly enough for my tastes that I used it as is. These would be: Music, Browser and Albums in my screenshot. The rest I took a picture and edited it, putting things in and taking things out.
For the Gmail icon I simply took a normal Gmail Icon (the red/white envelope) and a picture of that girl who simply had her arms up in the air. I cut the cropped the arms out and placed them behind the envelope and moved her fingers around to simulate her holding the envelope.
YES! Finally a little big planet theme in progress
Im starting to understand why there are a lot of Hero themes but not a lot of themes for Hero (ROMs). I havent been able to get v1.2 to boot up since release. My screenshot was based on 1.1.1, updating from 1.1.1 to the "Full Build" 1.2 has resulted in nothing but boot loops. I've tried wiping, repairing ext, repartitioning my card from scratch but nothing. I can successfully boot up any other type of ROM except for Hero ROMs. So for now I'm going to make this for CM 4.2.3.1 and then port it to SenseHero once I can figure out how to get it up and running again =(

I think a background from the game might be best. Maybe a pictue of the king or queen. Or maybe even a picture of the worlds like when the SackPerson is using the Ps3 controller, (I cant remember what they call that part of the game.)

Ok, so how did you install it? because i'm not getting a typical zip file. it's reading as a .jar--tried resigning it as a zip and it "E:Can't find update script"

i've installed... successfully, but one thing i've figured out... in some input dialogs is the input rectangle screwed... look at the picture...
anyway i don't care about the details... looks nice and is working without FC (for now)

The .9 png files were not edited correctly
Here is a link on how to edit them, its not too hard once you do it once or twice... it looks worse than it is to actually follow the steps lol

Are you running my theme? If you are do you mind telling me if there is anything that I should fix
Well I present to you my second theme but kinda like my big first that I have been working on for a while now. I started once the 2.0 Icons became available cause I like the look and it made the phone seem more professional so I based a theme off that idea something that would be professional looking and still retain a style to itself

Did not think to make the drawer glassy good idea thanks going to fiddle with it now.
As for the launcher I might add it. I want to come up with a lock version and a non lock version so maybe I will add to one or both

Yeah...I am kinda happy as to how the camera came out
Got some updates that will be coming tonight...Going to all the advance launcher and also post my Aluse theme without the lockscreen for those that like origional. Also tweeked the app drawer to look a little more glossy and professional.

Thanks, I have been working on this for a long time and I am really pleased as to the turnout. I know that it may not look like much but I am slowly getting it ready for when the BIG 2.0 updates drop. So for now I sit here and still work on it

Hey everyone, I have been down at david1171's place for the past week and he's been teaching me how to theme. Seeing as this is the first go-round for me, I would appreciate any and all feedback you care to give.
This dark theme is my adaptation of david1171's Minus-X theme and includes brandenk's app drawer tab and a calendar template from Ted417 (thanks guys). I have posted a barebone version of the theme for cyanogen roms cause the different adp google apps can break on i know at least the 32a magics so this is without google apps or the lockscreen, the dvanced launcher is included though. Add-ons include David1171's skinned 2.0 apps, Stericsons lockscreen, an add-on for Google Nav
Special thanks to david1171 (buy the man some noodles) and pretty much everyone that he thanks for his theme, ted417, brandenk and pershoot for keeping up Stericson's lockscreen. If I forgot anyone, please shoot david a PM or find me on androidoverdrive.com and I will include your name as well.

what errors are it throwing up? saying you can't get it to work does no one any good for debugging your problem. what ROM are you using? is it on a mytouch or a g1? are you trying to use the version with the google apps?
The new dialer and boot screen look sweet. Lol funny story about the boot screen. My daughter was playing with my G1 and she rebooted it by mistake. So when the boot screen comes up i hear her start to wine. After about a min she throws the fone at me bursts into tears and tryes to hide. Now she doesnt even want to touch my g1 lmfao!

Sorry about that. I'm using dwang 1.13 on g1. i've got the zip for navigation so, i don't need that. it boots ok but gets stuck at the android boot screen. The button lights come on like it is going to work but never gets any further. backlight goes off. I can then press menu to get it back on but it is still stuck at the android screen....any thoughts?
Sounds like a bootloop, try doing a wipe or it could be something on the ext partition hanging it up, it should boot no problem on dwang 1.13, I have tried it and it worked perfectly
If you are able to pull the notif bar pulldown than it is an advanced launcher crash, you could have gotten a bad d/l so try red/ling the theme if that doesn't work than wait for the dwang v08 that should be coming out later, a version could also be made without the advanced launcher also later on if requested

Good also for 2.8?
The problem with making a white theme is that the fonts are in white too so they won't show up. I'm not sure yet how to change the font colour.
This only works on 2.9. I started working on it when 2.8 was out, but had to restart for 2.9. I threw away the 2.8 version, sorry!

The bottom bar mold, do u mean the 2-tone effect? Doesn't the stock rom already have that effect in stock colours though? The bottom bar stuff is in \res\drawable-port-480x320\ in Rosie.apk anyway.

Yeah looks very nice! But as it's in GDE it might be easier to change the fonts for that. I will start looking into changing the fonts, I'm pretty sure it's possible in Sense.

what i meant with the bottombar see attachment. as long as i know where to look i think i can find it.
just for my curiosity/clarification: all you do to create a theme is extracting the apk, alter the image files in it, compress & resign and install? or is there more to it, like altering xml files (which i can not open as they are compiled?) just that i'm on the right track here...
Haha ok I get you know, I thought you were talking about mould Yes you can definitely turn that bar back to grey. I can do it for you if you get stuck. Now I know that's the bit you mean, I think that's in the same folder as the background transparency, \res\drawable-480x320\ in framework-res.apk. I'm not at my dev computer right now so I can't be totally sure, but if you can't find it let me know and I'll have another look.
Yes you're on the right track, that should work fine. It can get a bit confusing but if you keep all your files organised you should be fine.
I didn't alter any xml files to make my theme, so just leave those alone and replace the .png files.
