Weather Widget - KEEP FLIP CLOCK?? - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey..
I have the flip clock on my main home, but every time i lose wifi or turn it off it says forecast error and doesn't even show the clock at all. This is getting completely annoying and it stinks when i get it in car or leave the house my clock goes away along with my wifi connection lol. Is there any way to avoid this, or maybe another app that features a similar flip clock? Thanks!

I got rid of this app for that reason. I live in one the 50 largest cities in the US with 3G and that app just sucked at getting me weather, and at times would have a time off from the phones clock.
I don't see the point of the flip clock, or any clock when the phone displays it in the upper right.
I used Desmondes paid Weather Forecaster, seems acurate and updates. I also use Weather Bug since its free and can show the temp on the status bar.

weather forecast homescreen- not HTC home

Is there a cab file for att tilt that puts the weather forecast on the homescreen? I don't want the htc home either- its over-rated, buggy, and almost always an inaccurate forecast. its more like a postcast. I have no use for that.
Weather on Today screen
I would recommend that you use something like SPB Weather or Pocket weather. There are several good today screen weather apps out there. Many have a trial ware that you could test out to see what you think. I wish the HTC Home weather app could be modified to show more info and such.

I'm working on a Homescreen PlusPlus theme that uses a mortscript weather(accuweather feed)that I wrote. Has icons in sliding dock at bottom for the 5 page views and other icons for app launching. The notifications appear on main screen when they don't have a 0 count(otherwise they are invisible). Weather has current page(current condition, precip, humidity, visibility, barometer, winds, sunset and rise, uv level, air pollen level, dewpoint), forecast page(forecast temps, conditions, estimated precip, winds), and radar page. Homescreen plusplus also supports gestures, so you can swipe to side to change views also. Like I said though, still working on it, should be done in a few days.

Hero Weather Question

On the main Clock with the Weather under it, is there a way to stop it from trying to sync/update the weather everytime you unlock the phone?
I can't find a setting for this anywhere, I like having the weather and clock there, but it needs to stop killing performance when it doesn't need to check weather but every hour or so.
Click on the weather/clock and hit menu and go to settings. You can turn off automatic update.
That only seems to turn it off on the weather application- not the clock.

[Q] Setting location by default in sense weather app instead of current location

Hello, As you know, sense (both in lockscreen and app drawer) shows a weather figure (clouds, sun...) about the weather in the place we are at the moment
That means
1) it is searching everytime where we are so it wastes battery
2) In my case, I often go out my town. As I have weather sync set in once a day, If I move out my town, It just does not show the figures aymore, it shows "weather not synced", as It does not have data of my new place
3)I cant turn location off for saving battery because If I do that, weather is not shown either
I hope you understand me XD Thank you so much

Curious question

I see in the themes section a bunch of different clocks on the home screen. I've always removed mine as the clock is in the upper corner anyway.
So myquestion is, why do others keep a large clock on the screen taking up space? Again, just curious as to users preference and reasons.
Sent from my SM-G925V using XDA Free mobile app
The main reason I do, is that most of the clock apps I tinker with also have weather info, calendar, and other bits and pieces that I can see at a glance, and in a larger font than the corner. Not that I'm that blind, but it's nice if the phone is at arms length. I use One More Clock Free from time to time, and use the shortcuts within the clock to open the battery usage, alarms, and calendar all from that. Makes it one-stop shopping
I personally keep the clock app so that I am only one tap away from the weather info. I've made checking weather through the widget a habit that I've kept since my Note II, and checking the weather through Google Now takes too long in my opinion. Plus, the widget does not take up too much space if you change the grid size.

Clocks freezing?

Does anyone else notice clock widgets seem to freeze every so often so the time shows incorrectly? I've turned off battery optimisation for the widgets but it still does it
Not on mine... I use Beautiful widgets for the clock and it keeps on ticking (I don't lick my Note 9)....
Are you a 3rd party or the Smasung clock widget? I think I used Sony Xperia widget on my V20. It featured this behavior occasionally if I had not touched my phone for awhile. It would update itself after stretching out and yawning some more. My note9 with in house widget is not doing this.
Using better dashclock and another widget (that's the name lol)
