Proposal - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I propose we implement new rules.
First Offence of posting in wrong forum. ban for 3 days
Second Offence BANNNED

AND give the mods even more work?
You are always going to have people not reading ALL the details on the rules.

Well you need to follow your own rule and post in the general section as I don't see a question that needs answering.

Name says it all. Why has no one made this. There is a c64 app. Two of them. There's a chip8 emulator. Like what is going on? Please one you geniuses help! Please. I beg of you
I believe you mean to post this in the app section
Woops. Sorry. My bad. Too the first guy.
It was a misteak. Relax. That was very impolite.
MOD EDIT - Removed offensive language/attitude from previous post
Any decent forum you post in, there are stickies with rules. You read them before posting. If you don't you deserve what you get. Around here if you continue posting in the wrong forum, you get banned. That is because it is way too common for posts like these to appear in the development forum.

And what if this is his first time ever posting in a forum? No one deserves to get **** on(I'm exaggerating, but really). It would have been just as easy for the dude to nicely tell him that he posted in the wrong section, and direct him to the write section with a link...
MOD EDIT
@ Everyone - I understand everyones reasons for getting frustated as this is a common occurrence for people to post in wrong sections, but I will not tolerate foul language or abusive attitudes in these forum. Any future occurrences from anyone will result in a 3 day ban!! Try and treat people with respect. Remember, you were once a junior member and I bet you also made mistakes!!
I've deleted all posts in this thread with either foul language & offensive attitude.
@ plugsmustard - In future read the forum rules before creating a new post. Failure to comply with forum rules will result in a temp/permanent ban for yourself.

i dont get it...

can someone explain this
''Please Read: New members (those with fewer than 10 posts) are not permitted to post to development-related forums. The developer forums are intended for experienced users and developers to discuss ways to improve technical aspects related to ROMs and Software. While you may be an expert, we ask ALL users to avoid posting questions about using or installing ROMs and software in the Development Forums. To encourage this new Users can read but not post in these forums.
To ask Questions about developing your device, installing ROMs, software and themes you must go to the Q&A or General Forum.
Remember, your question has very likely been asked already, so please search before posting.

im just trying to say thanks to developers and answer things that have been question by others, maybe im just know 1 or 2 things about my phone development...but why cannot i post it...how can i post if i cant really comment on those thread?i dont get it...
There's plenty of threads about this in the "about xda" forum. If you'd read the rules then you'd know to search first and you'd have found the myriads of other closed threads about the subject.

[Read before/after posting Q] Basic Courtesy/Responsibility!!

Hello New users!!
I have been browsing SGN forums from last one and half month or so and observed few things in Q&A section- One- users does not change title of the question thread even if the issue has been resolved and it confuses people and they keep on posting possible solutions (just waste of their time in my opinion)- So, if your issue has been resolved then please add "(solved) or (Resolved)" in your threads title, also post/mention/highlight the solution which helped you, so that it can help others in future.
Second- Please do not post questions in General section, Q&A section exists for a reason
Third- Please try to search before creating a new thread, at least check the sticky threads in all sections and you will get lot of answers there only, at least for rooting and flashing and will save us from lot of unnecessary threads
Last but not least- I am not sure why people hesitate in clicking "thanks" button, I have seen lot of post like "thanks a million" "you are the best" etc but no click on "thanks".
"Thanks posts" are not allowed on XDA, that's one of the points of the thanks button and if you'll click on thanks then it will definitely motivate and encourage those people who are always ready to help others and put lot of their time in it, I think best way to show your appreciation is to click "thanks".
Note- This is my personal opinion based on my observation and does not mean at all that anyone here is against questions.
How to change title of thread- If you wish to change the title of your thread then follow these steps-
1. Go to OP (post #1) and click "Edit/Delete'
2. Then click "Go advanced"
3. You will now get an option to edit title of the thread.
4. Change it and then click "save changes". Done!!

It's not the thrid, it's first, which should be sticked at the top of the forum, 7-sized in red, with warning of death penalty. Half - at least! - of the Q&A section is spammed with questions, which has been answered at the stickies, or destined to be asked at the stickies.

Post in the correct section for god's sake!

I'm wondering, is it really that hard to post in the correct section? Here are some threads that should be in Q&A, but all were on the first page in General when I copied their links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994709
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994691
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1990224

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1989328
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1989000
That is 12 out of 20 threads (the stickied ones were not included) on the first page that weren't posted where they should be.
Also, I noticed that most of these threads were started by people with none to very few posts... Connection?
I sense that this thread might get closed for some reason.
The threads that I linked to should be closed/moved, or the newbies (mostly, some senior members as well..) who haven't yet developed the ability to read will soon post every single question they have in General...
My suggestion is increasing the post requirement before you can post in General.
A. Volunteer to become a moderator and hand down infractions or use the report post button.
B. Do you think you have any sort of authority over others and or think you are perfect?
C. Do you realize that your whiny post HAS NO PLACE HERE? (As does my response)

B: The OP is correct, the Q&A question exists for question, this one for general discussions. Where did he say he's perfect or above others?
C: Why not? He has a fair point. And I don't see him whining. What is your problem?
But I don't agree: Raising the post count for the General section is not a solution.
Maybe a new closed stickyied thread "This section is NOT for Questions you have, use Q&A for that" might help.
Reported my own post and suggested it to the mods.
Cheers.

Because the Q&A section is a no-man's land where no dev ever ventures. Trying to push the new guys that come here to the fringes is not the solution.

Apart from the fact that I and a couple others in fact ARE scanning the q&a section every now and then for questions which are lacking an answer and are not covered in any of the other threads:
That's not a valid reason to post in the wrong section. Especially considering the kind of questions linked in the OP which are pretty often already covered multiple times all over xda.

you're wrong they answer the questions that never been asked before if your question doesn't answer so search it first before creating a new thread if you search for an hour so search for a day and if you can't find it and you search for almost a day that's the right time to post don't post anything because you only want to reach 10 post to be able to post in developers section

The thing is when I go into the Q&A and see a bunch of old threads I am gonna think like that. I didn't talk out of my ass but went to the section and that was what compelled me to answer. The problems of this forum imo are solved with active moderation. Things like warnings, thread deletions and relocations. Until that investment is made we will be suffering this kind of problems.

OnePlus 7 Pro Camera2API

I'm posting this thread asking all of you to join our fight to get camera2api fixes from OnePlus itself. You don't need to do anything special, just upvote thread, and post a reply agreeing if you have spare time. Everything is explained in the link below. I hope together we can achieve our victory
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oneplus-7-pro-camera2api-issues-and-recommendations.1277546/
If this thread is not in the right place, I ask to be moved to it's right place.
Thank you all.

And may I ask why the f..k would this be an unrelated forum. It has everything to do with our device, and the possibility to gain access to aux cam without rooting the device. The only way OnePlus will ever consider if bunch of us would give the support on the tread opened on their forum. If moderators say or notice it is in the wrong section of OP7Pro forum, they will move it. So if you won't give the support just back off.
