does anyone know of a program to block numbers from calling, i have call firewall but but i cant just block one number, and thats what i wanna do
I thought on CallFirewall you just selected 'Black List' and added the number you wanted to reject to it?

SPB Phonesuite allows call blocking using either a blacklist or whitelist. It also has a ton of additional features.
Spb Phone Suite has one bug in the handling of a whitelist. I have to add all phone numbers twice, with and without country code, to make it work. We don't use area codes here in Oman. Maybe this is causing problems for the program?
try magicall works perfect you can also block incomming sms or autoreply with an sms to someone you blocked.
you can block individual numbers but also you can block all incomming calls when you are in a meeting or going on a plane...

IMO magicall outbeats them all.
Running gingerbread, which has an option built in to do call blocking and an option within that to block "unknown" callers.
Now, to my way of thinking there are THREE sorts of incoming callers;
1/ 123456 Fred, already in my contact list, he is calling to say Hi
2/ 234567 Jim, not in my contact list, he is calling to buy my car
3/ ??????? Tom, his number is hidden, either because he has chosen to hide it, or because he is calling from an office behind a pbx that hides numbers by default, he is calling to upsell my car insurance
Now, I want to block #3, but not #1 or #2, and yet to me I would classify #2 as "unknown", so using the built in or third party call blockers will block Jim, which I do NOT want to do...
I ONLY want to block people with withheld or hidden numbers
I DO NOT want to block people who do not have withheld or hidden numbers, even if I do not yet know them or their number.
So can anyone clarify the definitions, as far as Android and various apps are concerned?

call blocking unknown numbers will block calls from people that withold there number, the calls that you get but when you check the number it says 'Unknown' so i think it will do what you want it to do.

i am a new HTC one user , the phone is fantastic overall , but i have a (big) problem , i want to block sms or calls from specific numbers - contacts , but i dont want to use the native "Block Contact" option because its easy visible in tough situations, so i bought a couple of apps for calls /sms blocking such as hide it Pro , call control pro and call blocker .I register the numbers that i want to block the calls and sms from, but not even 1 app can actually block the call , the best case scenario is to decline the call after 0.5-1 sec (since you can see the contact which calling you) and show the notification icon on the top of the screen (i dont have any issue with the sms , all the apps work good with incoming sms ) .So i wonder if there is anything else i can do because in my last phone (samsung galaxy note 2) those apps worked just fine .

Use Xposed Call Blocker.
Has anybody else been a little not so happy that calling & text rejection/blocking are tied together & not separate like it use to be? Meaning you cant block 1 or the other but have to block both. I know some block calls & messages from a number they don't want to communicate with but me & im sure a lot of others have reasons to block calls & not messages or the other way around. With that said i figured out a way to get to a setting where you can pick to just block calls so messages aren't blocked also. The settings in our phone but not visible like a few other settings like the hd voice/volte setting. There is also a little trick you can do with the hidden setting so you can remove calls from the blocked list so just the messages are blocked & not calls. Id have to type up the instructions & post the pics for how to do this so if anyone would like to know how you can just let me know in here & I'll gladly put up the instructions on how to do it. It's very easy but I'd like to see if others need this as much as i did before i take the time to add the pics & instructions on how to enable the settings to do this.
