warranty swap need orginal rom and radio - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

Where can i find the orginal tmobile rom so i can flash back to for a warranty swap. Also, what was the orginal radio it shipped with so i can also revert back to that...
Thanks

i heard they dont have the stock radio yet for some reason.. but for some reason rapidshare is not working for me.. is it working for u?

ya its downloading now. Thats for t mobile USA right? Also do you happen to know the radio number? I can find the radio elsewhere, just not sure which it came with.

The radio version doesn't really matter, but I'm sure you can find it somewhere. (try the stickies )

where i can find the T-mobile ROM and Radio for Diamond

I have searched a lot of places, please help. Where I can get the latest T-mobile ROM and Radio for Diamond? Thanks a lot.
I think you will struggle. I looked for quite some time before flashing my MDA with Swiftblades ROM (in case I needed to send it back for repair). In the end I gave up and just went for it!

The thing with this link is you have no idea what SPL you need to use do you? I havent flashed mine yet from t-mobile stock but Im aware you need to use HardSPL to flash a cooked ROM right? In which case what does this .exe do and what HardSPL does it need.
Like the poster - I like the security of being able to role back....not so keen on a one way ticket even if everyone seems to tell me its the way to go to bring the diamond to life..
Yes, I am looking for the latest ROM and Radio for MDA Compact IV, I don't know if the ROM upstaires of UK is the right one for T-Mobile MDA Compact IV.Please help. If the theme color is pink? Thanks a lot.
do not flash to the rom in the link provided as this is a very old version of the ROM which is extremely slow, instead wait for someone to dump the new ROM (or just keep the old one as a failsafe for warranty like i have) and go to a cooked rom instead ^^

That link has all the same versions as what T-Mobile are currently shipping...it might be very old...but its what Ive got at the moment...just dont know how to use that .exe and what SPL etc.....
Does anyone know how to dump the rom currently in your phone out to something that you can reprogram it with later if needed?
[Q] MDA compact IV (German T-Mobile)
i have the same Problem.
The German T-Mobile-Version has changed/invertet HW-Buttons!
The original
So, if i find a ROM and Patch my MDA4, will it work? Or do i need a very special version beacuse of the invertet HW-Buttons (Keys?)?
Where may i fond a "how to" to find the way to find the right ROM i can use?
tnx
I have just got a replacement from t mobile yesterday. It is the same version in this page. No new version has been released yet. I use hardspl 1.24 from jocky and then use duttys v2 rom. Works ok. When I had to return mine i used the above link and then used SPL 1.37 which it ships with. You can find stock spls by doing a search.

Why did you get a replacement - was it to try and get one with a newer ROM? Ive got a week left in which to return mine if I want to - which I dont. I really like the phone but its a bit slow and klunky with 1.37.x.x
Nice to know youhave managed to use that .exe though...so you whacked SPL 1.37 on it which you found somewhere on here and then executed the .exe and bosh....back to old ROM/Radio?

yea. Thats about right. First you have to flash the stock rom and radio in the link. Then last of all get the stock spl and flash it. Then it will be like the stock t-mobile you will get from the shop
the phone was faulty. thats why it was replaced. It came with the same old rom though.
anyone know now what to do with a t-mobile MDA IV ?
I am still not able to decide if i will buy a t-mobile (can get it for 300 euro, no contract) or buy a original.
I've given in and bought one, and, hopefully it will be here by Thursday, it works out at £285 over 12 months but only 150/150 mins/txts (I've only gone over that twice in the last 2 years)
I've had my mdac3 for 18 months and it has been returned/replaced 5 times, every time it has had a 'non tmobile' rom on it and they haven't batted an eyelid, so why is everyone suddenly worried about flashing back to an original rom? Surely if your phone knacks up badly enough that it has to be returned then you would struggle to put the old rom back anyway?

What to reset or flash b4 service?

hey. So my phone is kinda broken.. something with the antenna.
Gonna get a free serivce as it is still under varrenty!
But my question is.. What spl should i put in so they cant complain?
I will offcource flash the official rom also.
first flash the official rom back
then official radio (if not included in rom, dont know about that...)
then the official SPL

Only you can answer that. What is recommended prior to upgrading is that you write down everything that your device came stock with.
• stock SPL
• stock Radio
Maybe a better question might be to call out to people who live in the area where you bought the device. Example: I bought mine from Rogers 3 mths. in my area. These device should all have the same specs. on them.

does flashing a ROM makes you loose warranty?

Maybe an obvious thing for an expert eye, but I cannot find this information easily.
I just bought a new X1, and would like to flash it with Touch-IT 4.5. However, one precondition to do it would be to HardSPL-it, so that I can change the ROM with the Touch-IT.
On the HardSPL thread I saw information about how to return the original SPL on the phone for warranty purposes.
Does this mean that by changing the ROM that I loose warranty on my new phone?
Thank you!

It seems easy to return to a stock ROM and the stock SPL though. I'm about to flash TouchIT myself and am a little nervous, but I keep reading everything over and over again and it is easing my tensions.
No
It won't void your warranty as long as you are smart enough to put the stock SPL and ROM back before sending for warranty repair.
The MOST important thing is to remember when going back to stock. STOCK ROM FIRST, THEN STOCK SPL.
Oh, and it's spelt "lose".
Thank you both!
Final question...do you both relay on the stock spl and stock rom downloadable from the forums, or do you keep your own backup or something similar for warranty purposes?

best one is to dump your own rom (read the sticky about that one)
but you could ofcourse always use one from the forum..
stock spl is on every device the same so you could just download that one
Nah
Stock from the forum is just fine. As long as you get the correct region and carrier (or just generic) you can't go wrong, and the SPL is the same as stated.
ok, thnx
ill try it, keep your fingers crossed!
How to find the Stock SPL ? What is it exactly ?
The rom are stick on the forum but the stock spl ?
How extract stock spl from a new phone ?
Thanks
As I understood it (please someone correct me if I am wrong), you don't extract it...there is a download on the end of this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431218
and a process which describes how to use it...it doesn't sound complicated.
I am just not sure, in the thread it mentions that you first need to restore the original ROM (there is a thread also with original ROM's, and judging by the version and stuff the one there is the one which I currently have)...but they also mention restoring RADIO.
What is exactly radio? is it like a radio radio (so listen to tunes, shows stuff...or something else??) and why would I restore that or not?

Judging by the version of the generic one in my phone (ver. R2AA006, cust. id 1215-1832, cust. ver. R20A, cust. var. GENERIC_UK, content ver. PA10) the one which is downloadable from the thread with stock ROM's is fine.
I am just not sure about the region and carrier? What are these? Where should they be adjusted/used/set?

I took the phone to be repaired (cracks...) for two times, and for two times I switched back from Touch-it to stock ROM and stock SPL.
The repair guys always repaired the phone under warranty, therefore:
1) Flashing a ROM does NOT lose warranty or, most likely
2) restoring stock ROM and SPL makes the phone modification unnoticeable.
Kind regards

Do i loose my guarantee after Flash?

i flashed my x1 with some rom, and now i flashed it back to the basic rom but i allready have the hard spl mod (debranded x1)
and my keyboard now sucks, i got the bill / and support card
so can i go to the shop where i bought it and get back a new one or repaired one?
do i have guarantee even if i have flashed my x1 ?
thanks !
now u still gotta flash stock spl... just check the sticky threads...
also had tht keyboard prob... hope its not gonna happen again..
Uhm no it wouldnt work right now but if you look at the stickyed threads you will see a way to flash back your normal hardspl and your normal rom this way it will look like just an ordinary branded xperia
i have bought the x1 from a shop in germany
Without any brandings (vodafone,t-mobile,o2)
where i can find the stock rom for it ?
can somebody find a link for this one ?
Not very hard to find...

yeah and which of these ? generic de or what ?
and this ones are all exe files how can i flash them ? cuz i got hard spl on my device.
I wouldn't worry about flashing the HardSPL. I sent my phone back to Sony after flashing and didn't hear a thing. They sent it back reflashed with an official HardSPL and Firmware. There's not much chance of them finding out, and even if they did you could just claim innocence and say you have no idea what they are talking about.
If it's a problem with something that they would need to test with the phone turned on and working however, I would highly suggest you flash the original rom (don't worry about the spl).
Just my advice

ah man!!
extract it (rar, zip whatever) rename to kovsimg.nbh- hard spl
or read the sticky and like Lex said flash stock spl back
and if you wish you can take Zimbabve language, up to you to download one you understand
okay thanks very much, i dont know much about it.. but you helped me.. thanks for the advice.. !
one of my X1 cracked jz beside the back hatch. i've flashed it with cRoms from xda! guess what? i'm still up for warranty as long as the stickers protection the machine inside is still intact.
btw, does x1 comes with guarantee?
Right is just like a pc ... as long as is still in warranty they want care if u have customized it in any way or whatever they just reflash it to latest SE rom ... and repair it
never had problems

[Q] radio on froyo hero

im running cm6 vanilla. have 2.42.01.04.27 radio. that radio was for 2.1 release. since our 2.2 is ported from another phone, should we use a diff. radio? if so, would it even make a difference? just wondering if anyone knows before i try it out and jack it up. thnx
Radios are different for everyone I think it mostly depends on ur coverage area u can flash different radios if done properly it wont hurt anything different radios give better reception for some and worse for others my only advice is make sure its a radio compatible with ur phone because if u flash the wrong radio I think u can brick ur phone so read extensive before u do

2.42.01.04.27 is the most recent radio, and it most likely won't be updated ever again. It is only updated when there are RUU updates, and since the Hero is no longer the shining beacon of Sprint's Android collection, I think its the best we will get.

DO NOT FLASH A DIFFERENT RADIO. Flashing the wrong radio is pretty much the only way that you can completely brick your phone. Update your PRL and PRI when the time comes, but let the radio be. Trust me on this.
No dice I've flashed about ever Sprint radio out there in fact I keep 2 different ones on my SD card so wen I go to visit my inlaws I flash a different one cause the latest Sprint radio sucks that far up north but in the city I reflash the latest because its gets me better service in the city and like I said if done properly and u have a sprint radio u wont brick ur phone remember I said if done properly so check the threads on this one in fact some Dev of roms have sometimes even suggested updating ur radio wen flashing a 2.1 or 2.2 rom like I said check the threads and I'm right by the way I don't trust anyone

The Guy was asking if he should I told him if done properly its his option if he's receiveing garbage service and slow data download times then I would recommend trying a different radio if ur download data speed is to ur liking and ur phone calls come threw clear then just stay with what u have but the option is there and just because its the latest radio doesnt mean its better than the other ones do some research and u will c exactly what I'm referring to
